A Normal Pokémon Journey: Part 2: An Ilex Forest Mystery

by ThAtGuY101

ThAtGuY101 The story of a pokemon trainer named Friedrich "Fritz" Kaiser who travels from his hometown of Azalea town in Johto to the Ilex Forest.
As Friedrich walked out the front door he waved at his mother and two siblings as he and his father Dieter went to the Ilex forest. His father went along to with him to Ilex Forest as he just happened to be heading to work, "Remember to use potions after battles Fritz as some of the pokémon are dangerous. There's no shame in running away from a wild pokémon..." Said Dieter as they continued to the Ilex Forest, "yeah yeah! I know... Its me! Fritz I'll be fine!" Said Friedrich. Hearing him say that made his father even more concerned ,but as they slowly approached the checkpoint building that separated Azalea Town from the Ilex Forest. They saw two youngsters run out of the forest, "the legend is real! I saw the legendary pokémon!" one of the youngsters yelled. Dieter grabbed a hold of the two boys by the shoulders, "Now just what in the name of arceus are you two running for?! Said Dieter letting go, "I think I saw celebi!" the other yelled. Dieter eventually got the boys to calm down and describe what they saw which lead to further confusion.

As they continued to the checkpoint they eventually went inside he handed Friedrich 2000 pokédollars, "Now Fritz I don't know what they think they saw ,but what matters now is you going onto the other side... don't take any detours and get to the other side. theres no point sticking around here ,and getting yourself lost. and try not to lose that money! or spend it all in one place!" Dieter said as he watched Friedrich walk into the distance. Friedrich walked for a considerable distance as he eventually saw a dark passageway ,but his father told him to maintain course. He peered through the trees ,but couldn't see anything worth mentioning, "now why were the two boys freaked out over nothing?" he thought to himself. He looked back and he knew it was just him and his trusty ditto all by themselves. He wanted to follow his fathers instructions to get to the other side ,but he really wanted to know what a celebi looked like and just had to see this thing for himself. they went through the dark path and Friedrich though he had saw a pichu ,but he wasn't entirely sure as it ran into the bushes before he could see it up close. He went further and further until it was hard for him to see his original path, "Ditto! Ditto!" Said Aloi as he looked behind Friedrich. To Friedrich's unawareness there was a pokémon behind him. He turned and saw a flash of green fly up into the thick leafy branches of the trees. He noticed the pokémon was moving through the tree branches from branch to branch. He followed it which lead him to an old shrine in the distance. It was an old looking shrine that had likely seen better days. the roof had foliage on the roof and vines growing on the sides. Whatever purpose the shrine seemed to serve likely was long since ended he thought to himself as he approached it

As he stood next to the shrine he heard movement coming from behind it ,and as he turned around the shrine he saw a spinarak on the other side. The spinarak stood there looking at him as it eventually walked off on its merry way, "was that the pokémon they saw?" Friedrich thought to himself. As he eventually made his way back to the main path he felt like he was being watched ,but he wasn;t sure why or by who. He eventually saw the next checkpoint he felt like he was still being watched. As he turned around he saw multiple spinarak as well as a couple ariados ,but what was Friedrich to do as he didn't really have battle experience and there were so many of them! He held Aloi tightly as he looked around ,but before he could do anything he heard a strange pokémon voice singing which seemed to cause the spinarak and ariados to calm down and leave. Friedrich was confused by what had happened and looked around to see what could have caused that. Friedrich wasn't sure what had happened ,but his ditto friend Aloi caught a glimpse of a celebi as they headed to the checkpoint to route 34. As he made his way to the other side he saw the bright sun shining outside on the other side of the checkpoint. As he headed out he got a good view of the whirlpool islands as well as noticed a nursery in the distance with all sorts of pokémon running around outside there. He had been to Goldenrod City before ,but only a few times with his mother to run errands. The city was so big that a guy like Friedrich could get lost there. Friedrich and Aloi couldn't wait to go to Goldenrod City and see what there was to see. He looked at his wallet before heading down route 34 ,but before he could get any further a bug catcher jumped out, "I see you! lets battle!" Said the boy sending out his caterpie. Friedrich sat Aloi on the ground as he quickly turned into a golden caterpie, "Woah! a golden caterpie! I'm super jealous! I never seen one of those before!" Said the boy. As the battle raged on both pokémon took considerable damage ,but Friedrich's ditto would be victorious. The kid sent out his second pokémon a weedle. Aloi quickly turned into a weedle as well with a slightly different color variation from the bug catcher's weedle. As the battle raged on again Aloi quickly took down the bug catcher's weedle with a poison sting. The boy was disappointed for losing ,but reluctantly handed Friedrich some money for winning, "wow! you won... fair and square! guess I should give you some prize money now." said the boy. Friedrich was surprised when he was handed money ,but he graciously accepted it anyways. they introduced themselves and became friends. If Friedrich ever came back to route 34 he might look for him ,or maybe he might find him in Goldenrod City! that would certainly be a pleasant surprise ,and of course Friedrich used a potion on Aloi's wounds. it stung and Aloi didn't like it ,but he was happy now that he felt better. They were now ready and eager to continue their journey.
