On The Bright Side: OTBS Chapter 5: Unrest

by Silvermist599

Silvermist599 Not the most exciting chapter, but it's necessary to move on to the more interesting chapters, but will they be able to take down the principal? Will the others even agree to this? Find out in the next chapter!
After hearing what my mother said to Mr. Colstrom, I quietly went to bed and pretended to sleep, but instead going over different possible scenarios in my head. However, my mind kept coming to a brick wall when it came to what she meant by ‘already been swapped.’ Had she known this would happen?

At some point, I must have fallen asleep, because I woke up the next morning to the strange piano riff alarm of this world and redied myself for school. I made sure not to let on that I’d heard my mom’s conversation, though, because that could only end badly, but I made sure not to trust her and watch out for what she did.

In first period, the four of us; Nate, Mikey, Kara, and I; had to work together on our project. We hadn’t gotten much done yesterday, due to, you know, them kinda blaming me for sending their friend to a world of darkness and depression, but I was determined to get past that, so I made sure to talk more today.

“Hi Nate!” I said as I walked in and took my seat, this time in bright orange. Who knows, maybe he would think I was his Nate?

No such luck.

“Hello, Gray Noah.” He said, kinda harshly. That was going to be a problem.

“Okay, do you have to call me that?” I ask frustrated. “I get it, I got swapped with the Noah you know, but what’s so bad about that to begin with!”

Not a good idea.

“I dunno?” He said coldly. “Maybe the fact that he’s stuck in goth realm?”

Ouch….

I sighed. “Look, if you want to get him back, we’re going to have to work together, because you obviously don’t know anything about what’s going on, so maybe you should just listen to me and not just treat me like some criminal.” I said more calmly. And of course, that’s when Kara had to be the voice of reason…

“Well,” she said. “How would you have reacted if suddenly the Nate you group up with and trusted came to you talking about a world of color and seemed insane. Wouldn’t you be a bit upset?”

“Well….. yeah.” I admit.

“Then you’re just going to have to let us adjust.” She said declaratively.

“Okay, just, I don’t know if either me or the other me caused this… and I don’t think the one’s who did are friendly.”

“Well spill!” Mikey jumped in. “Whose butt do we need to kick?”

“The principal’s.”
