Day 5

The day was quite the unusual. We were hired by a --- to protect him as he travelled to another village to the west. He gave us no identification on who he is nor did he ever told us why we are needed to be on guard. Fortunately, we got to the village and were paid. Not much for what mercenaries would get, but I’m still getting there.

It was getting late and we were within a ------ so Gareth decided that we camp out for the night. The atmosphere didn’t faze me much since I mostly head to the woods behind my house to gather ----wood or berries. What I didn’t expect was what’s for dinner... At first, I was a little uneasy eating something like ---- meat. Gareth doesn’t seem to mind as he just ------ away.

It was a strange taste, but surprisingly sweet. I never thought that bear ---- could be this tasty. After our dinner, Gareth had taught me how to ---- the bear for its pelt so we could sell it later. After several frustrating attempts later... I decided to forget skinning the bear and slept. I swear I heard Gareth chuckled when I laid on the ground, flustered.

As I slept through the night, I could here the sound of a ------- laughter. I thought to myself, is there a child in the forest? I got up and looked around. Gareth was asleep with his axe in hand just in case. The laughter appeared again... “Come ---y with me!” Those were the words I ----- after the laughter.

I venture within the forest with my sword ready. I wasn’t going to take any chances, even if it was a child, it could be a De------- for all I know. Just then... a cold ------ blew on my neck. I yelped a little, looking behind to see no one. What’s happening? Am I just imagining these things?

I got back to the campsite, where Gareth was still asleep. Laying my sword down, I sat up against a tree. My heart felt like it was going to ----- out of my chest. My eyes felt heavy as I slowly closed them. When I was about to fall asleep, something ------- my wrist. On instinct, I screamed which woke Gareth up. He asked me what had happened, franticly looking around.

After telling him what happened, he asked if I had just dreamt the whole thing. I was sure it was real. Maybe I was just a little tired. It didn’t felt like a dream, let alone a -----mare. The day just gets weirder and weirder...
