Landon and Spike: The bond they share...

by PyroGaleZX

PyroGaleZX If you have ever RP'd with me you may know of my character Landon and maybe even his Blaziken named Spike well recently I decided to type up their backstory regarding their bond, and while I type up the next chapter of Landon's journey through the Sinnoh Region I'd like to share the adventures between Landon and his Blaziken. If you enjoyed you can leave a like, as well feel free to comment something I can improve upon, constructive criticism is the best, as well feel free to read the other writing works I have.
Spike was originally a Torchic that Landon received from Professor Birch for his journey through the Hoenn Region, when Landon arrived in Rustbro City he was quick to make his way to the Rustbro Gym. Although reluctant at first Landon used Spike as his last Pokemon during the Gym Battle, when Spike seemed to be out of energy Landon decided he should forfeit the match however Spike would not allow itself to be defeated and let Landon down, Spike fought through it's disadvantage and ended up winning Landon the match and evolving into Combusken soon after, Landon and Combusken grew closer and Spike slowly began showing it's determined attitude seeing as it would always fight until it was out of strength which caused it to go into urgent care from time to time, even coming close to death at one point. Upon their arrival in Foretree City Landon noticed a tournament was being held however after losing in the second round Landon sent the first Pokemon he had received when he set off on his journey off to train saddening his personality. Landon became more distant and Spike, sad to see his trainer upset, always worked hard to cheer Landon up and to make him smile. During the Forretree City Gym Battle Landon was forced to use Spike in a battle even though it was at a severe disadvantage. Although once again thinking of a forfeit, after seeing Spike constantly knocked to the ground, Landon didn't want Spike to lose faith in him since Spike had worked so hard to not let Landon worry. Landon decided to put all of his faith into Spike which allowed Spike to win the battle and evolve into Blaziken. Landon and Spike's bond continued to strengthen from their as Landon would primarily use Spike in battle however they eventually met up with Steven Stone, who was researching Mega Evolution, and after helping him acquire a Mega Stone they requested, and received, a 1 on 1 battle with the Champion however even with the Blaze ability being activated the two still lost. The two both felt that during the battle they had disappointed the other and refused to look at each other but Steven was able to show them their mistakes and that they shouldn't feel that they disappointed the other because of one loss and instead should work together to strengthen each other. Landon and Spike continued to grow and respect each other and soon became nearly inseparable. However while in Lilycove City all the Fire-Type Pokemon in the area became mindless, attacking civilians and making their way to a mysterious cave, this included Spike. Landon entered the cave to find fire Pokemon lying on the ground exhausted and weak while others were launching Fire Attacks at a small orb known as the Red Orb, Landon tried to find Spike but was unsuccessful for a while. When he found many Fire-Type Pokemon inside of a cage he also saw members of Team Magma guarding them, while Landon tried to use his other Pokemon to stop them he was quickly overpowered by Tabitha and his Camerupt. Landon saw Spike being brought out of the cage and thought of what would happen to it if it would be used like the others, Landon fought off the Team Magma grunts going as far as to tackle and punch them just to get to Spike. Landon grabbed Spike and began telling it about all they had been through together, however the sound of his voice seemed to do nothing so Landon stepped in front of Spike and began reciting their promise to get stronger together claiming they would be as strong as a White-Hot Flame. Spike's control quickly wore off after hearing and seeing Landon and the two quickly put a stop to Team Magma's mind control. After the events in Lilycove Landon and Spike continued to travel towards the Hoenn League. During Landon's final Gym Battle Landon found himself in an all-to familiar scenario with Spike battling Wallace's Milotic. Landon knew Spike too well and knew that a forfeit was out of the question. Milotic would constantly dive underwater so Spike would not be able to attack it. Landon soon came up with an insane idea of having Spike dive underwater to attack Milotic, it seemed to work except for the fact that once Spike resurfaced it was unable to use Flamethrower or Blaze Kick, however Landon knew Spike could overcome this battle, this belief led Spike to learn the move Flare Blitz which became a symbol of Landon and Spike's bond together, and the two ended up winning in the end. Landon and Spike went off to the Hoenn League last and vowed to reach the finals together and rematch Steven. Landon ended up making it to the finals but during a battle with another trainer's Greninja they were faced with the Z-Move Hydro Vortex and lost. Landon and Spike decided not to let the loss stop them and instead decided to move on from there and work hard to become even stronger together.
