Kimon Region Adventures: Chapter Three - The First Catch!
I stood at the foot of the forest. Charmander stood beside me, glancing in the same direction. It was just a few minutes after the battle I had with Zack and after the battles I had with three trainers on Route 1. "Come on, Charmander", I said, "Let's get through this forest and to Masso Town"! Charmander exclaimed, "Char"! I glanced around at the many Bug type Pokémon that lived in the forest. I was sure if one of them decided to pounce Charmander could make quick work of them.
We carried on throughout the forest until we finally reached the end. We were starting down Route 2, then all of a sudden...
A wild Eevee popped out from the tall grass! I gasped. I thought to myself, "Oh gosh, what do I do"?! "Do I run, or... , or do I try to catch it?", I exclaimed. "Hey, Eevee"! "Want to be a part of the team"? Eevee turned up it's head, clearly not caring much. I had read a bit about Eevee in books when I was younger. It was supposed to teach us to "Become what you want when you grow up", or something like that. I was determind. This was going to be the first Pokémon I would catch. I opened my satchel, grabbing two Pokéballs, one to hold in each hand. I yelled, "Charmander, use Scratch"! Charmander lunged at the wild Eevee, scratching it. The Eevee retaliated by using Tackle attack. Charmander used Scratch one more time on the Eevee. The Professor told me to weaken a Pokémon before you catch it. The Eevee had looked to be quite weak after Charmander attacked it, so I thought this would be my chance. I threw one of the Pokéballs towards the Eevee. It shoke once... twice... three times...
The Eevee escaped from the ball! The weakened Eevee had looked to be giving up. The small Pokémon walked towards me. I kneeled on to the ground. Eevee stood in front of me. I asked the small creature, "Have you changed your mind? Would you like to join us"? The Eevee nodded weakly. I lowered the second Pokéball to it's head.
It shoke once... twice... three times...
Eevee has been caught. I set Eevee's Pokéball in my satchel. I opened my Pokédex, looking through the Dex entries. Of course most of them were empty. I looked at Eevee's entry. "Eevee, the Evolution Pokémon. Eevee can evolve to many different Pokémon. What it evolves to is dependent on where it lives, or other causes". I realized I hadn't checked Charmander's entry yet. "Charmander, the Lizard Pokémon. Charmander's tail burns with great intensity. The hotter the fire, the more matured the Charmander is". "Oh!", I thought to myself. I needed to get to a Pokémon Center so I could heal Eevee. I carried on the path to Masso Town.
