Kanto Journey: Kanto Journey Chapter 2: A new friend

by Hotshot14380

Hotshot14380 This is the second installment of the long story series, Kanto Journey. In this series, Zack, a character I use often, is on his very first journey. The journey that sets him off to traveling all the regions, and becoming a true pokemon master.
Along route 1, Zack and Torch met new pokemon, and got more comfortable battling. Torch and Zack became closer friends, and Torch learned how to shoot out embers, and cover the area in smoke. Zack could tell him and Torch were going to get along great throughout the rest of his journey.
Zack was almost at the end of route 1 when suddenly, a boy with a backwards blue cap, yellow shirt with a white stripe going across, and blue shorts and shoes jumped out in front of Zack.
"I challenge you to a battle!" The boy cheerfully announced. Getting in a battle ready stance.
"What? Last time I checked, there aren't any trainers on this route!" Zack complained.
"Well times are changing, it's not like we're in the age of Red, now, send out your pokemon!" The boy commanded.
"Fine then, let's do this Torch!" He shouted as he threw out Torch. Then the boy sent out a Rattata, and went for the first move.
"Rattata, use tail whip!" The boy commanded. His rattata then spun around, and shook its tail back and forth. This made Torch's defense come down.
"Alright Torch! Use Smoke Screen!" Zack ordered, and Torch released black fumes across the land.
"Oh no! It's ok rattata, just keep using tail whip!" The boy attempted. However the rattatas tail whip did nothing, due to Torch not being able to even see the move. Torch then sneaked around to behind rattata without it noticing, because of the smoke.
"Keep up the tail whips rattata!" The boy commanded, unaware it was doing absolutely nothing to Torch. Meanwhile, Torch snuck up behind the rattata, emerging from the smoke.
"Ok, quickly Torch! Use scratch to launch it in the air! Then use ember!" Zack instructed. Torch, moving quickly and efficiently, followed his master's command, and launched the rattata into the air with a quick slash across its side. Then, while the rattata was in the air, Torch launched an ember at it, hitting it dead on, because the rattata couldn't dodge in the air. Rattata came crashing to the ground, with swirls for eyes.
"Rattata! No!" The boy cried, returning his fainted Rattata. The boy paid Zack a few pokedollars, and Zack continued down route one, until he stopped right outside the gate of Viridian City.
"We made it bud, me and you. You've been doing a great job, Torch," Zack complimented. With which Torch stood high with pride. Then, together Zack and Torch headed into Viridian, and immediately searched for a Pokemon center. Once entering, Zack waited a bit, while Torch got healed up. While he did he opened up his bag. Good amount of money. Zack decided to rush over to the pokemon mart to buy supplies to shorten his wait.
Zack returned to the center with a total of 10 pokeballs, 2 antidotes, 2 paralyze heals, and 5 potions. Just as he entered, Torch's pokeball was returned to Zack, and he sped off to route 22. As soon as he entered, an aggressive purple nidoran engaged battle. Zack, quick to respond, threw out Torch.
"Ok, we aren't taking out this one, so go for a simple scratch, Torch!" Zack directed. Torch made quick work of the nidoran, knocking it to the ground with a scratch across it's back. The nidoran barely got back up, letting out a cry. Zack, wanting to save the creature from further pain, chucked a pokeball at it. The ball consumed the Nidoran, and it fell to the ground. One shake. Two shake. Three shake, caught. Zack let out a celebration shout, and picked up the ball.
Welcome to the team, Quake.

Longest part yet! Hope everyone likes it! I do put in quite a bit of research into this than you might think. All support is appreciated! Also, sorry if towards the end, it seems a bit rushed, I didn't want to make it to long, but I wanted to fit in the catching of Quake, hence the title.
