Zombie Pokémon: It has begun

by Mikaela Strange

Mikaela Strange A virus that had affected a huge part of the flying type Pokémon had come to terrorize the Pokémon world.
Prologue

It begun as a bird flu virus. Every flying type were symptom by it. At first it goes off as a normal sickness, with just a sniff and a cough but it escalated to the point where infected Flying types started effecting others as well. Now, more than half of every region that was closest to a nest of flying type Pokémon are reported to be hospitalized and was treated to the best of every doctors and nurses abilities.

A year passed and the virus only got worse. Now every flying type Pokémon who shows even the slightest of symptoms were ordered to be taken down. Every trainer who has a flying type were terrified by the order and tried to hide or protect their Pokémon from the virus and the exterminators.

Mikaela Jones is one of those trainers.

Mikaela furrowed her eyebrows in worry as she cradled her Ducklett as it continue to cough. The Ducklett was sickly bluish green, breathing heavily through its beak.

Rachael Jones, her foster mother, watch in pity as her adopted daughter cradle the sick Pokémon. She was worried, of course, that someone in there family might get sick because of there close proximity towards an infected but Ducklett was family, and no family, especially in the Jones, got left behind.

A knock on the door interrupted there gloomy atmosphere as they both turn towards the white painted mahogany door. “I'll get it.” Rachael said, walking over to the door. Mikaela tried her best to calm down, in the best case scenerio that could have been just a delivery guy and not some exterminator. But knowing her luck it would be too far to being a delivery guy.

At the door were two exterminators wearing those suit to keep them from getting the disease. “Mrs. Jones, we have been informed that you have a flying type Pokémon in your position. As you might have known-“

“Yes, I-we know about the bird flu.”

“Then you must have also known about its effect towards others.”

“Yes.”

“Could you handover the Pokémon please?”

“N-“

“Here.” Mikaela cut her off, Rachael’s eyes widen as she looked at her 14 year old daughter. Mikaela gave her a pained look before looking down at the Pokémon in her hands. Ducklett was breathing more heavily and small drip of blood was falling down off its mouth. Mikaela looked like she wanted to cry.

The exterminators gently took the Pokémon from her arms. “We will also have to cleanse you and your other family members.” Rachael was so shock, at Mikaela’s decision, that she could only nod.

When they were gone, Mikaela falls down on her knees and wailed. It was so painful to see her Pokémon suffering that she avoided battles to not see them get hurt. But Ducklett’s condition make it so hard for her. She doesn't want it to die but it looked liked it was in so much agony and she thought that maybe it will just be best to-to...

Rachael snapped out of her trance when she heard the wail of her daughter. Walking to her daughter she hug her and rocked her in her arms as she continue to cry. No trainer could handle doing what she had done. Rachael knew. So she hummed a lullaby to comfort the crying girl.

Mikaela slept in a nightmare after that.
