Shadewing This is the beginning of the Weather Clans, from betrayal to theft, the origin has it all.
Prologue

The pounding of pads on grass seemingly echoed throughout the clearing. The pale light of night gleamed though the weather-stricken place, yet in the moon's place was only stars. An unheard shriek of battle cried through the air, emitting the nonexistent sound. The air was laced thick with tension, fear and power.

Two cats fought in the sacred place, one pitch black, the other a silvery white. The black tom seethed at the translucent silvery figure before him before launching at her, his muscles extended, reaching for the she-cat's neck. His attack was quickly dispelled by a simple kick to the underbelly, and he soon found himself pinned by the silvery cat. The she cat grinned with victory, but the tom noticed a fear of realization in her eyes. The black tom's eyes travels to where her paws meet his chest, and gave a grin of his own victory.

The black tom pushed upwards, finally realizing that the weight was as nonexistent as the sounds of battle. The she cat gently held her face in victory, but her eyes betrayed her feelings of fear. The two cats locked their eyes, both unwilling to leg the other win the pride of making the other back down. "Lightningstar!" Cried a voice as four other cats pounded down a hill to the clearing. The black tom whipped his head away from the silvery she-cat to face the newcomers. "Miststar, Fogstar, Rainstar, Snowstar...." He growled a the leaders. Lightningstar turned once more to snarl at the silvery she-cat, who widened her eyes in curiosity. "Are you really going to attack your mother in front of these cats? Even more, your Mother from StarClan?"

Lightningstar growled softly at the she-cat. "Yes Skywind. I will attack my mother in front of these other cats." He let out an all so real yowl and once more launched himself at Skywind. His mark, however, was not hit. He noticed that a flash of white jumped across his vision and his teeth sunk into real flesh and fur, the salty sate of blood was all so real. Lightningstar heard a sickening 'thump' on the ground as he landed. In front of him was the small, young, pure white she-cat, Snowstar.

Everything was frozen. The three leaders stared at their fallen leader in horror, Lightningstar's eyes widened in suprise, Skywind's face manifested in grief. "Snowstar!" Wailed Rainstar as the blue-grey tabby ran to her fallen friend. The tiny white she-cat lifted her head, not to Rainstar, but to Skywind. "Oh, Starclan member, please bless my clan with good fortune in my absence. I pray that the new clans in this weather-stricken place will have good hunting and many lives."

Lightningstar watched as the white she-cat's blue eyes dulled, and her head fell to the ground. "No, Starclan, she had 9 lives! Snowstar can't be on her last one!" Rainstar mewed in panic. The blue-grey tabby was startled by the soft touch of Miststar's tail on her shoulder. Rainstar opened her jaws to say something, but Miststar shook his head and pointed towards Skywind. The silvery she-cat's eyes were full of sadness and sympathy for the young RainClan leader. "Rainstar of RainClan, I announce that Snowstar, the leader of Snowclan, has joined our ranks today. Snowstar never had nine lives."

Skywind's voice was tiny, almost silent, but it seemingly boomed across the sacred place. "Snowstar's nine lives were taken by Lightningstar. The LightningClan should never have existed. I bid you farewell, Snowstar's spirit will be honored by all in Starclan." The she-cat slowly faded, leaving the grass disturbed where the nonexistent paws were. Lightningstar spit in anger and arched his back at the empty space where Skywind was. "You took one of your fellow leader's life. Not just one, but the nine she was supposed to obtain. You don't deserve to lead a clan, or even be in the forest." Fogstar growled gently, and the other two followed his lead. "I Fogstar of FogClan, vote in front of Starclan, that Lightningstar be expelled from the forests, along with his clan." The other two leaders repeated, using their names and swearing to Starclan that LightningClan should be expelled. From behind a cloud, a small sliver of Moonlight beamed down at the leaders in the clearing. Snowstar appeared alongside them, her pelt shimmering with billions of stars. "I, Snowstar, former leader of Snowclan, vote that Lightning clan should be expelled from the forest, for the theft of a leader's life and betrayal across the clans."

Lightningstar hissed at all four of them, watching them bathe in the moonlight he shall never step into again. "LightningClan has been expelled from the forest." All of the leaders mewed in unison, waking up cats from some clans despite the distance. The black tom yowled a cry of battle, and before he slunk back into the bushes, his voice echoed across the clearing. "Your kits, apprentices, loved ones, and family better watch their tails; the LightningClan will never be truly gone."

Skywind's hushed voice whispered through the trees in the black tom's absence, gently ruffling the three living leader's fur. "Weather will fall and loose their power, only disaster can bring them together; a river of blood will show that it's over."

Thank you! I used my ELA skills (*gasp!* Luma used school skills!) to model off of Erin Hunter's writing. I took notes on things she does to enhance her writing, and incorporated it into mine, using my own characters, words and places. It was looking good at the beginning, but I lost the 'Erin Hunter' feel near the end :p
