Hyas

Hyas originates from Electra, one of the stars in the star cluster Pleiades. His main goal is to search for other star-born life forms like himself, and find out more about how he came to be.

Hyas' voice, like most Elgyem's, is unusual to say the least. Heard unaware of its source, Pokemon and people attribute it to a strange gust of wind due to how softly he speaks. It's lilting, echo-y, and not entirely like anything else heard on Earth. The closest comparison would be wind chimes, but it's interspersed with background sounds that are just a little too ethereal.

Hyas can communicate with other Pokemon despite not having a mouth. He manages this through some form of psychic power, but he hasn't yet managed to grasp human languages. In order to get a message across, he can send images telepathically, but this isn't an effective means to carry out conversations. This power is reserved for emergencies.

He prefers to communicate with his own kind through the use of his lights. This is his instinctive form of speech, so he'll oftentimes flash them even when he talks to other species of Pokemon. He knows they don't understand, but he feels a bit more comfortable when he uses them as well.
