Keleri Acupeix ⟶ (Deepseatooth) Carchardax

#083 - Acupeix (acus "needle" + peixe "fish")
Needle Pokémon
Steel/Water-type

It manipulates water to sneak up on and disorient opponents. Its bold coloration, spines, and defensive ability all say "don't touch me!"

Moveset: Bubble, Bubblebeam, Aqua Jet, Aqua Ring, Dive, Razor Fin, Poison Sting, Poison Jab, Toxic Spikes, Whirlpool, Thousand Cuts, Pin Missile, Spike Cannon, Icicle Spear

#084 - Carchardax (Carcharodon "sharp tooth" + axe + Osedax "bone eater" (allegedly) --> thus, "sharp eater")
Jaws Pokémon
Steel/Water-type

They have a ferocious reputation because they spar often with their metal-scaled bodies and investigate unfamiliar objects by biting. Unfortunately, they can do a great deal of damage to unarmored pokémon and ships.

Base Stats: 70/105/120/80/90/70 (535)

Ability: Rough Skin/Strong Jaw/[Blood in the Water](Boosts its attack every time a pokemon faints.)

Moveset: Bite, Crunch, Ice Fang, Poison Fang, Psychic Fangs, Aqua Tail, Hydro Pump, Waterfall, Night Slash, Rage, Avalanche, Gyro Ball, Iron Defense, Iron Head, Smart Strike, Metal Burst, Liquidation, Bladestorm, Power Drill, Razor Slash, Storm Surge, Undertow, Water Hammer, Depth Charge, Feeding Frenzy

The lionfish was tough to make into a pokemon due to its incredibly intricate patterns and spines, and also because it kind of already is a pokemon with its venom and ability to manipulate its buoyancy to sneak up on prey. A shark fakemon was tough too because several frankly perfect shark fakemon already exist, but I gave it a try and also got to indulge my long-held fantasy that a staple remover is the head of a monster.

Ironically, in our world, the ferocious shark has been decimated by finning and overfishing while the colorful lionfish is an invasive species wrecking the Gulf of Mexico.
