Gonzalo often comes off as being an intimidating ruffian, but he is actually a quite sensitive person. In fact, in addition to being a gym leader, he runs a program teaching young men how to become contributing members of society. He particularly reaches out to those living in the "rough part of town". All those who know him call him "brother Gonzalo". Gonzalo often cries after hearing even the sappiest of love stories.
