I finally pedaled into Eve Town, Soufflune riding in the basket of my bike. I hopped off my bike and watched as it shrunk and went into my bag, I always found it quite fascinating as to how an item as huge as a bike could shrink to fit into such a small bag. I looked at my map, I was told to meet the other kids in the Orchid Cafe. As I headed towards the cafe I felt Soufflune's ribbons wrapping around my arm. She only did this when she was nervous, or she could tell that I was nervous, and today it seemed like a little bit of both.
When I walked in I immediately scanned the room to see if I was able to point them out. I spotted three kids who looked about my age or a little bit older sitting at a table. One girl had her arms crossed as she sat with a Pignite at her side. Another girl was avidly talking, a sleeping Alolan Vulpix in her lap, and the last person was a tall boy sitting in a wheel chair, he had a Lopunny handling the wheel chair and an expression on his face that showed that he was barely listening to the talking girl. There was one chair left at the table, I assumed that this was being saved for me so I walked over.
"Uhh hey guys, I'm Lizzie.. You're the people that Professor Sakura sponsored a journey for, right?" I said, awkwardly.
"That's us! I'm Skylar, and this is my Vulpix, Eric." She said, petting Erick gently.
"Well I'm Daniel, and this is Amanda, my Lopunny." said the boy in the wheel chair, smiling politely.
"I'm Macie." said the last girl, she tried to say it casually but it was clear that she was a little shy.
"Macie just moved from Unova, she's still a little nervous." Skylar said, giving me a warm smile.
I tried to make a bit of polite conversation, knowing that these were the people I'd be journeying with for the majority of my journey. "So, what are you guys excited to do?"
"I spend a lot of time choreographing entries for Pokemon Contests, I'm hoping to be the best choreographer in all of Lumia!" Daniel said, his voice automatically piping up when he explained his love for contests.
"I'd just like to get closer to my Pokemon and the people I'm traveling with." Skylar said, giving me a wink. I had to admit, she was pretty cute.
"I'd like to be a champion of the region one day, I want to be strong and there for my Pokemon." Macie said, almost in a monotone voice. It was going to be hard to get close to her.
Skylar's voice soon butted in, "Well what are we waiting for, but before we go to the first gym, we should explore the town a bit!"
We all nodded and headed out of the cafe, I could tell it was going to be a fun journey.
