With a dark sky overhead I ran out of the woods, ‘I've lost them by now, I'm sure of it’ I think to myself as I run into a small town. I must stand out a lot, being that I am currently a large white wolf with blood-stained fur.
As I run through the town I spot an inn and run inside as I transform into a human form. I drop fifty min on the innkeeper’s desk, “Cheapest room, two nights.” I say to the innkeeper. She looks me over before dropping the room key in my hand with a sigh, “Keep the room clean and don’t destroy the place…” she then gestured to a thin woman who was helping customers, “My wife will show you to your room.” the thin woman turned towards me and bowed, “Right this way” she said as she led me to my room.
After showering and cutting my hair off dramatically with a sword, I gathered up all my money and counted it whilst mumbling to myself, “This should be enough… maybe…” I hadn’t known where I'd go but I knew I'd be leaving. They’d be coming soon, they’ll find me. The next day I went out to buy myself the essentials, clothes, food, water, a backpack, etc., I didn’t know how long I was going to be on the road, so I had to prepare. The next morning I was gone, no trace of my leaving other than the key and some money left at the front desk.
I left before daylight so it was cool and dark when I left, making it easier to endure the pain that was sure to grow in my legs. I was running so fast and far that my legs hurt by the time the sun had risen and by midday I had to stop. When I did, I was at the edge of a small town, across the street from a small house with a sign reading ‘Neko Adoption.’ Intrigued, I watched as a small fluffy cat walked up to the house and transformed into a person with cat features, a tail and a pair of ears, then she went inside. As I watched the creature I remembered what a neko was, part human, part animal, able to freely transform into its ‘feral form’ that being the animal in which it shared features with.
I took the appearance of a wolf neko, showing my fluffy white ears and tail that I have in wolf form, “This should be convincing…” I said to myself as I walked in. Immediately I was greeted by the smell of cookies and cat dander, to the right in the kitchen I saw two, almost identical, pups sneaking some cookies that were resting on the counter, to the left in the living room I saw a small child crawling up the side of the couch and two tweens sitting already on the couch, one playing a video game while the other just plopped down. I sneezed. All eyes were on me, “Oh hello!” said a tall woman with long wool-like hair, adorable sheep ears, and ram horns, “I’m Destiny, and I run this place. Are you interested in staying here?” I nod tiredly, “Yeah I, um, I'd like to stay here for a while…” “And your name is?” “Oh, um, Kai” I tried to keep from falling over but failed and quickly fell to the ground, ‘if anybody wasn’t looking at me they are now…’ I think to myself, Destiny immediately came to my aid, “Oh my! Are you all right?” “I’m fine, I just kinda, I ran here, been running since early this morning, I guess it just finally caught up with me…”
After she had me file out some papers, destiny and the cat I saw out front helped me to my room that I shared with the small child from the living room, who’s name is Peach. The rest of that day I spent meeting everybody. The cat that helped me to my room was Kitteness, a fluffy white Persian, while the boy that she sat next to on the couch was Dex, a fox with partial melanism, the small child that I share a room with is Peach, is a rare male calico cat named for his right ear being entirely peach, and the pups were Cookie and Creme, twin mutts that were black and white, Cookie being a girl, and Creme a boy.
