Dragalge - female, Hasty, strongly defiant
Dragalge are well-known for being extremely hostile to vessels entering their territory, to the point where fishermen must record known nest locations and share information with one another in order to lessen the likelihood of sunken ships. With poison strong enough to corrode military tankers, many Skrelp which evolve after being kept as pets or aquarium ornaments are quickly released into nearby waterways.
Most of them die in freshwater lakes or the like (the poison from their bodies thus creating both a bio- and chemical hazard) but those that are lucky enough to be placed in saltwater tend to thrive. They are considered an invasive species in many coastal areas, and trainers with Skrelp are in some places required by law to give them Everstones and prevent them from breeding.
The Dragalge currently under study in Vivi’s lab was not caught on one of her research expeditions, but instead a colleague’s. It must be contained in a thick glass tank, as their poison cannot affect glass. They are currently studying how Dragalge react to captivity, as very little is known about the mannerisms of these volatile Pokemon.
