Dear Pokédiary: Dear Pokédiary - Volume 3

by The Voltagonist

The Voltagonist Jump into the thoughts, feelings and adventures of a bright 6-year old girl, who dreams of becoming a Pokémon Trainer!
MONDAY:
Dear Pokédiary,
Guess who? That’s right, it’s HitmonJanuary! What, don’t you like that nickname? Come on, I spent a lot of time thinking it up! Nicknames shouldn’t be just for Pokémon, you know. Oh, alright, I’ll see if I can make up some new ones. Who knows, maybe you’ll warm up to one of them?

Anyways, it feels like forever since I last talked to you, but I have some great news! I’m now going to the Pokemon Academy in Viridian City! I’m going to be learning all of the things that you need to know to be a good Pokémon Trainer! Isn’t that awesome? Oh, by the way, I got home from my first day of school just now, and I have some cool things to share with you!

So me, Sunny and Magpie were greeted by so many kids when we got there. I didn’t even know there were this many kids my age in the area. Two of them I made good friends with. Their names are Lyni and Kai.

Kai is a smart and funny girl who always carries a doll around. with her. She said his name is Gad, and that he reminds her of someone she likes. I introduced my Pikachu doll to him, but he looked at her funny, like he was waiting for her to do something wrong. Gad is weird.

Lyni is a sweet, friendly girl who loves to make new friends. She said she had a rough time before she moved, and that things were looking a lot better for her here in Kanto. She also has a Pokémon called Eevee with her. She says that she hasn’t named it yet, because she can’t think of a good name. She also said that Eevee can evolve in eight different ways! How totally awesome is that?

As for school, we spent our first day getting to know everyone. The teacher said that a Trainer should always have friends to count on if they run into trouble. Oh, yeah, our teacher is this really cool lady, Ms. Jocey. She has a Pokémon called Nidorina that she brought with her, and she said it evolves from Nidoran! My Pikachu doll seemed to be getting a bit jealous of her Nidorina, but I told her that she was still my favorite Pikachu ever.

You know what? I think we’re going to have bundles of bunches of fun at the Pokemon Academy! Ms. Jocey said she has a lot for us to learn about, and I’m very excited to see what she’s going to teach us!

TUESDAY:

Dear Pokédiary,
Today, Ms. Jocey taught us how to catch our own Pokémon! She said it’s one of the first things we need to know how to do, because it’s how we make new friends! She took us over to Route 22, because it had a lot of different Pokémon for us to catch! She said that she caught her Nidorina there, back when she was a Pokémon Trainer. Ms. Jocey is so cool!

She then gave us some Pokéballs and Bait, and told us to see what Pokémon we could find. It was so much fun! I got to see Ratattas, Spearows, Nidorans, Mankeys, Doduos and Poliwags! I didn’t get to catch any of them, though, because I couldn't seem to get the hang of throwing a Pokéball. Every time I tried, I had to run over to pick it back up. It was really frustrating.

Lyni and Kai seemed to be really good at it, though. Kai found a beautiful Ponyta, and she made friends with it very quickly. Ms. Jocey said that she was very impressed with her for finding one, because they were hard to find on that Route. Lyni found a cute little Slowpoke curled up by the water, but it was sleeping, so she didn’t bother it. She did get to catch a lot of fish Pokémon, though. They all seemed to really liked it when she threw her Bait on the water. Magpie tried to get some of it too, but I stopped her just in time. I gave her some of my own Bait instead. Silly Magpie!

I tried and I tried, over and over, but I just couldn’t seem to catch a Pokémon. I was the only one in the class that didn’t have one yet. Ms. Jocey asked me if I wanted to try again tomorrow, but I told her that I wasn’t ready to give up yet! Everyone else got one so quickly, but why should I stop just because they aren’t showing up for me that fast?

My Pikachu doll told me I should become a motivashonal speeker or something, but I don’t know what that is, and it might get in the way of me becoming a Pokémon Trainer, so I told her no thank you.

Ms. Jocey smiled, and told me that she loved my spirit. She said she’d let me use her radio, and that it might help me find a Pokémon if I tuned it to the Sinnoh Sound channel. I asked her why, and she said that certain Pokémon from the Sinnoh region make their homes here, but they don’t like coming out unless Sinnoh comes to them, in one way or another.

We tuned the radio to the Sinnoh Sound channel, and it started playing a very happy song. It made me feel all warm and bubbly inside! Suddenly a patch of grass near the water started to shake, and would you believe it, a Pokémon called Bidoof poked its head out! It looked curious, and was very interested in Ms. Jocey’s radio. It gave me a very big smile, and happily trotted up to me! It nudged me, and gave me a funny little snort. So cute!

Ms. Jocey said that the Bidoof seemed to like me, and told me to try and use my Pokéball on him. I did, the Pokéball shook three times, and it made a click noise. Ms. Jocey congratulated me, and told me that I caught my first Pokémon! I was so happy, and the rest of the class starting cheering for me! Lyni and Kai ran up to me and told me how cute my Bidoof was, and they showed me how to release him from his Pokéball. He popped out in a bright white light, and made an adorable sound when he appeared. He’s just so cute!

Lyni asked me what I was going to name him, but I wasn’t so sure. I told her that I’ve never been good with names, and neither was my mommy. She named my sister and I the names of the months we were born on, and I only named Sunny Sunny because she’s a sunflower. Kai said I should try thinking of something that starts with the letter B, because Bidoof starts with B. I liked that idea, so I came up with the name Biddy. Ms. Jocey asked me if I was happy with the name, and I said yes. I introduced Sunny and Magpie to Biddy, and they were very glad to meet him! Welcome to the family, Biddy!

When we all got back to the Trainer’s School, I asked Lyni and Kai if they wanted to come over to my house to play. They said yes, and we all headed home. I introduced mommy and April to my friends and Biddy. Mommy said hello back, but April just stared at them. I swear, sometimes I think my sister just doesn’t speak on purpose! Anyways, we had a lot of fun that evening playing games, telling stories and being silly! I got a little sad when they had to go home, but when they said they’ll see me tomorrow, I felt better.

Oh, Biddy says hi, by the way! He got curious to what I was doing when I was writing this, and he wanted me to tell you that. He also kinda fell asleep on my lap, so I can’t move right now. He snores when he sleeps, too. He just keeps getting cuter and cuter!

I’ve been wanting to read a new book mommy bought me called “Get Well, Pikachu!”, and since Biddy won’t be letting me go anywhere for a while, I’ll start reading it now.

Sleep well, Biddy. I’m so happy we’re friends!

Wow, it's been forever! It's finally out, finally here, finally done! This took way longer than I thought it would to finish, as writer's block, procrastination and motivation are very fickle influences.

I feel like this entry is a little bit shorter than the previous entries, as I only added two days instead of three, but I tried to make up for it with extended stories.

Hope you all enjoyed the read, and I hope you'll be looking forward to future entries! :)
