Clover and Felix (A Pokemon Fanfiction)

by Willow Whisp

Willow Whisp Clover, a buneary, meets Felix, a pikachu. What happens?

Warning: I suck at writing romance, so you might cringe.
The autumn leaves twirled gracefully in the crisp cool air, swirling in loop de loops before landing on the ground, most likely to be trampled thoughtlessly by an eager trainer on the route later on. The forest hosted a vibrant array of colors, consisting mainly of yellows, reds, oranges, and browns, almost as if the trees were putting on one final show of their beauty before withering away in the impending winter that would soon come.

In all the beauty, one rabbit like creature, known as a Buneary, uses her dirt brown fur to blend in with the landscape, hoping to hide from anyone that would want to capture her. This was her area of expertise, going unnoticed.

Since she was a normal type, people rarely paid her any attention, unless it was the rare case where an inexperienced contest trainer would attempt to coax her into going them, often ending with her having to run away before they capture her.

Her name was Clover, named after the field of clover that she had hatched in. She anxiously hopped from one foot to another as she glanced around, sensing another's presence, but unable to identify who was there.

"Hello?" Clover called out in her soft voice, and received no answer. Suddenly, a flash of yellow speed by, causing her to shriek and jump back in surprise. However, that surprise soon turned to curiosity as the yellow blur slowed down in front of a bare berry bush, revealing that it was a Pikachu. Clover rolled her eyes. Of course one of those over rated brats would run into her territory. Honestly, she was never fond of the yellow mouse Pokémon's species, due to them always being accompanied by a trainer. However, something was off with this particular one. He seemed more worn than others she had seen, and he also looked underweight. She had heard that there was a shortage of berries in the forest, and she was filled with sympathy as the male scoured the bush for any fruit that might still be there. Cautiously, she hopped over to him and gently tapped on his shoulder, receiving a startled look from him in return. His eyes went wide and he quickly turned to face her.

"S-Sorry if I was trespassing M-Miss. I was just looking for f-food and smelt s-some around here a-and..." His voice trailed off, and he gulped. "Sorry." Clover frowned a little at his reaction, and gently patted his shoulder.

"Hey... it's okay. No need to get so worked up. As far as the berries, I have a stash I collected if you want some." She said, smiling as his eyes lit up.

"Th-thank you M-miss."

Clover chuckled and grabbed his paw in her own. "The name is Clover, what's yours?" He blushed a little due to the fact that her paw was gripping his own, but relaxed a bit.

"I'm Felix." Felix said, smiling at his new companion. Clover chuckled and started walking with him to her stash. They walked a bit before she stopped in front of a hollow oak tree. Inside was about a month's worth of berries, ranging from oran to pecha, to basically any type that grew near there.

Felix shifted nervously, enviously glancing at the berries. Clover smiled, devising an idea in her head. In one swift motion, she slung the underweight Pikachu easily over her back, beginning to walk into the cave. He tried to get down, but found that he couldn't remove her grip on him. When Clover sat him down in the tree, she chuckled as she saw his red and flustered expression.

Honestly, she thought it was cute. She blushed once she realized that she had thought that, and quickly distracted herself by taking a pecha berry and placing it on Felix's lap.

"Eat up. You look like you need it." Clover said, almost in a motherly tone. Felix smiled appreciatively and shoved the berry in his mouth, eating it in one mouthful. He proceeded to do the same with some of the other berries in the pile, while Clover ate her share as well. When they were both full, Felix looked a lot more like the Pikachu that Clover usually saw, and less like a starved rattata.

She smiled in content and leaned back against the tree, surprised to feel herself being scooped up a few seconds later by Felix. Her eyes widened as she gazed at his features, his eyes gleaming with mischief. He sat her down in his lap and chuckled. "Clover?"

Clover nodded shyly. "Y-yeah?"

"You have berries on your face." Before she could protest, Felix wiped off her face with his paw. She hid her bright red face in her tan fur in embarrassment, while he smirked smugly at her. "Next time you pick me up, think twice. I'll always get revenge" She nodded, earning a light hearted chuckle from him. Felix felt an odd sensation in his chest, almost as though something warm and fuzzy was inside of him. Then he realized what that feeling was. Love.

Felix was never one to hide his feelings, but for some reason, telling Clover about this made him extremely nervous. So, he opted for not telling her, at least not yet. He quickly pecked her cheek, looking at the wall afterwards. Clover's eyes widened as she felt his kiss on her cheek. She chuckled and turned his head so that he could see her.

"You missed Silly." Clover said before kissing Felix on the lips. Flelix's face turned redder than his cheeks usually are, but he didn't mind. All that mattered was being with Clover, the one he cared about. He smirked as another idea popped into his head.

"So, babies when?" He said with a chuckle as Clover turned a dark red.

"FELIX!"

Hehe. I really liked reading this! I will say from a critique standpoint that you might want to take a bit longer towards the end, but it was really good! I enjoyed seeing you bring out Clover's character.
