Pokemon OCs: Ciana - Finneon

by limniris

limniris
Female Finneon, shiny, 11” (smaller than average), 12.2lbs (weighs too little to be legal to catch), Storm Drain ability (absorbs water type attacks, part of the reason she hasn’t been eaten yet), lvl26, Captivate - Agility (EM) - Water Pulse - Rain Dance, Timid, quick to flee.

Living on the northern coast of Unova, Ciana has managed to avoid being caught or eaten so far. She’s an incredibly shy fish, and with good reason. While her lights at night help camouflage the fact that she’s shiny, during the day her natural shimmer does nothing but attract predators. Some of her school has dreams of someday being raised by a trainer, but she has no such goals; right now, all she wants is to stand out less.

Likes: Stargazing

Dislikes: Huntail, trawl nets, vibrant colors

Ciana spends most of her time as far down in the ocean as she can manage. Finneon are a species designed for living near the surface, but she typically stays hidden in rock formations on the coastline, away from the light. When she does go out where the sun can reach, the light reflects strongly off of her scales. Sometimes this can scare off smaller Pokémon, but more often than not it attracts them. Because of this, Ciana only goes to the surface at night. The moonlight still reflects, but at least she doesn't stand out from the rest of her school as much.
