Rue is a perfect prima ballerina, in every sense of the word. Lean, graceful, and porcelain skinned, like a collector's doll, never to be removed from her box. Remarkably human, in appearance, she possesses but a few features, that might identify her as a gijinka; green hair, which, when tied up, sports an angled cut, and tiny red horns at the top of her head. She is, some would say, far too old to still be in the kirlia stage, but she refuses to evolve, lest she lose the tiny horns she is so proud of.

Dance. That's all that she can bring herself to do, all day, and often, all night. Rue adores ballet; it's her passion, and as the principal dancer of Black City's ballet company, it's her job, as well. She dances, day and night, until her muscles ache, and her vision is blurry, and she is too exhausted to even rise up en pointe. Rue shies away from her emotions away from the stage; she feels anger, and sadness, and has flashbacks to that one night from her teenage years far too often. She buries her emotions about that night, refusing to deal with them, as they're simply too painful, but she'll act out as many different emotions as she can, on stage. She'll gladly play Giselle, the heartbroken peasant girl who died after finding out that her lover was betrothed to another. She'll gladly play Myrtha, the vengeful queen of the wilis, who was jilted on her wedding day. She'll gladly play Kitri, the innkeeper's daughter betrothed to a man she does not love. She can be anyone, as long as it's not herself.

Rue's passion for dance started at an early age, when her father's job meant that she had to move to Unova from Hoenn. She took ballet classes with plenty of other children, though when they left, she stayed. Every time, from the moment she could talk, until she became an adult, one could ask her, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" and she'd say, "A ballerina".

Her dreams of being a ballerina finally came true, when she was asked to play the lead of Giselle, in a show in Nimbasa City. She danced wonderfully. The show was perfect. And then, the director caught her in her dressing room, alone. And he grabbed her. And she struggled. And he eyed her up like a rabid mightyena does a hatchling swellow...

She retreated into herself, until quitting, and starting anew in Black City, but the memory is still with her. She's forced to live through it every night. And the only one who can provide her with even a little comfort is her partner, Salvatore. He knows everything. He comforts her through the longest nights, though he can never understand what she's been through. He wishes that he could.

She finds solace in her dance, and in him, though she'll never disclose how they met. She'll keep looking at the world, with those cold, glass eyes of hers, and revealing her true self only to Salvatore. Only he understands, she says.
