"RISE AND SHINE!"
Pika blinked himself awake. "Another day, huh?" he said. Vee nodded. "We got Roll Call. Let's go."
"Roll call!" Chatot said. "TREEKO!" "DRILBUR!" "Whismur!" "GOLETT!" "CRANIDOS!" "KADABRA!" "MEOWTH!" "EMOLGA!" "PIKA!" "VEE!" "Alright, everyone's here." Chatot said. He was then interrupted by Zapdos. "Explorers!" he said. "Today we grow stronger. Not in power, but in will. Not in numbers, but in courage." Pika and Vee looked at each other, puzzled. "Today, we rise to share our legacy of wonder with our new comrade! Today, we welcome Pidgey into our noble ranks! NOW WE RISE!" With that, everyone cheered. Pika and Vee smiled. So Pidgey would become an explorer. Well, that was one new friend! The two friends came over to talk to Pidgey. "Hey there!" Pika said. "I'm Pika! This is my friend Vee." "Hi!" Vee said. "Hello." Pidgey replied. "So you're the ones that went to see the Seer for me! I'm incredibly grateful for that." Pika smiled. "No problem!" Vee was pulling out a map. "Today we're headed off to explore the Hyumadan Desert. Ugh..." she said. She had a specific region marked on her map. "This is the area where we should find something." "Can I come?" Pidgey asked. "I've always wanted to help an exploration team!" "Why not?" Pika said. "It's always handy to have some extra hands! Or talons, as the case may be." Pidgey was flapping for joy. "Let's go, then!" he said.
(TIME RESTRAINT SKIPPY STUFF WOOOO!)
The explorers were already at the desert. "This place hasn't become any cooler..." Vee said, panting. Pidgey started to flap, and the explorers trudged on. At one point, Vee almost collapsed from exhaustion. Pidgey carried her, and it was a relief they found an oasis. However. they saw something up ahead. A huge cloud of sand. "That's the Great Dunes." Vee said. "Another maze, just like the foggy forest. Take the wrong turn, and you're back at the start." "More trial and error, then." Pika said. The three entered the storm, wary of what was ahead.
Somehow finding their way through the sandy maze, they arrived at a big, triangle-shaped object. "The pyramid." Vee said. "We made it." The three saw a doorway, and stumbled inside. Pika's cheeks crackled with electricity, and it lit up the room... and the many pathways it revealed. "Another Mystery Dungeon. Just great." Pika said. "Let's go." The adventurers entered the dungeon, exhausted but prepared.
(MYSTERY DUNGEON SKIPPY STUFF!)
Arriving at the bottom floor, the adventurers searched the area. There were no coffins anywhere. Just a mural and a pedestal. Pika inspected the pedestal. It seemed to be made to hold a circular object. Vee spotted it first. She took out the Ember Tablet and placed it in one of the places. It fit perfectly. However, there was still room for more. Vee removed the tablet, returning it to her pouch. It was Pidgey who saw the danger first. The mural shook, and a Sigilyph emerged.
The ancient Pokemon fired a Psybeam at the heroes, but they swiftly dodged. Pika slipped under it and used Thunderbolt. Its tail shook violently. Pidgey swooped in and used Peck on the ancient Pokemon's eye. It recoiled in shock... straight into Vee's Swift attack. It fired another Psybeam, this time hitting Pidgey in the wing. Vee rushed over to help, while Pika kept him distracted with a barrage of electricity. Sigilyph started to descend, and that was when Pidgey could unleash his Tackle attack. The ancient Pokemon thudded to the ground. "Pika... Vee... Treeko... Pidgey... tablets... Girat-" it said before it shut down. They had won.
"So what do you suppose it was doing?" Pika asked while Vee tended to Pidgey's wing. "Guarding the pedestal, maybe?" "Perhaps." Vee said. "This may sting." she said, pouring a bit of potion on Pidgey's injured wing. "OW!" he said, but he let it sink in. "We should get out of here." he said. The explorers nodded, and they headed out.
Sigilyph beeped.
The three explorers returned home triumphant. Treeko was waiting. "Come on, it's eating time!" he said. He and Pidgey rushed off as Pika and Vee went to report their findings.
"Now, everyone, DIG IN!"
"Crunch-munch! Chew-chew! Sniffle-slurp! Crunch-munch! Chew-chew! Sniffle-slurp! Crunch-munch! Chew-chew! Sniffle-slurp! Crunch-munch! Chew-chew! Sniffle-slurp!"
After dinner, Pika and Vee were exhausted. "Let's just sleep." Pika said. Vee nodded. "Let's hit the hay."
"Hey, Pika?"
"Yeah, Vee?"
"Who do you think built that temple?"
"Ancients."
"Yeah, I guess that's a good enough answer. Good night, Pika."
"Good night, Vee."
