Chapter 1: 1st Day of School

by Pokéboy098

Pokéboy098 This is an in-depth version of the “Wolfborn: School of Powers RP”, which is told only from Syn’s point of view. Please like and follow if you are interested in me making more of these.

It is very possible that I will make stories for my other OC, Nik, as well as minor characters, such as teachers.

I highly encourage other roleplayers to do the same thing I’m doing.

This will be by far the longest day, just so you know. The next chapter is called “The Sleepover”, just in case you are curious.
Syn was sleeping in his alleyway, guarded by his pet golden tiger (no, really. Therian is literally made of gold), Therian. He really didn’t need it though, since most of the other people in that part of the city knew he had claimed that alley, and didn’t want to fight with him. Syn’s powers, mostly the ability to transform into other humans (although in theory he could turn into anything, he wasn’t sure how to turn into most things), had gotten him kicked out of his home, but then they had made him rich from being a thief. Ironically, he couldn’t spend his ‘fortune’ on things like a house, because he was being watched and had to put it all in offshore savings.

This morning seemed like any other morning, until a small letter floated down from the sky. It made a tiny noise when it landed on the ground, which was just enough to wake Syn up. When he saw the ornate parcel, he was confused at how it could’ve gotten there without him or Therian noticing. Either way, Syn opened the letter up by turning his hand into a small sword. This was one of the only forms he knew how to do besides humans (he had basically been required to learn some sort of lesson, since he was on the street). Inside was an invitation to a school called Wolfborn. He had heard about a school for kids who had powers like his, but he had thought it was just a myth.

Anyways, he was pretty excited for an adventure, and he grabbed Therian, as well as a few other belongings. Soon, he arrived at the meeting place that had been specified on the letter. Waiting for him, much to his surprise, was a large helicopter.
“Come on in!” Shouted the pilot over the noise of the blades. “This is for you after all, so don’t just stand there.”
“How...” muttered the skeptical Syn as he boarded the Helicopter.
“Well, we couldn’t take you there by Jumbo Jet like we do with everyone else, because you were a little late.” Explained the pilot, “But I hope this ride is just as comfortable.

The castle of Wolfborn stretched high into the sky, and he saw kids his age playing on the ground. The helicopter landed. “Well, kid. This is your stop. Here is your schedule and room key. Hope you enjoy your stay.”
As Syn walked to his room, he saw all the other people, and thought, ‘I wonder how many rich kids go here. This is a great opportunity for me to get some money, learn some new forms to turn into, and have fun doing it!’
Syn had finally arrived at the door of a room labeled with his name, and he tried the key. As he entered, he could see tons of locks to practice on and a very comfy bed, for both him and his pet, Therian, who quickly fell asleep after the long helicopter ride.
“I get the feeling this is going to be a lot more than a business endeavor,” Said Syn, and then he left the room, not failing tonotice with his keen thieves’ vision the absurd amount of locks on the inside of the door to keep intruders out. “Ha! Its almost like they knew everything about me!” He said aloud in the empty hallway, and then he headed for the Bazaarcade, which he had seen from the chopper, in hopes of meeting some friends and stealing some prizes. When Syn walked into the Arcade, he saw a group of 3 other students talking. Carefully avoiding them, but paying attention to them, Syn transformed into the girl and walked over to the game with the biggest prize, one of those games where you try and stick the key through the little tiny hole and knock something down. Of course, he wasn’t planning on doing that. Syn quietly and expertly opened up the glass without setting off the alarm and took out a ton of large glow-in-the-dark tokens. Then he began to put the glass back on, saying, “They’ll never know what hit them, and if they did, she’ll get in trouble, not me. It’s perfect...”
“Hey... how did you... ? This is me!” Shouted a rather flustered voice from behind Syn. He nearly jumped out of his fake skin when he heard it, because he could’ve sworn nobody had been there just a few seconds ago. Maybe she could turn invisible... he wasn’t sure. Either way, she asked whether he won the grand prize, which he had stolen.
“Uh... well...” Syn responded to the unknown girl bombarding her with questions. “I have an important class I’m gonna miss, talk to you later!”
With that, Syn broke into a run and left the arcade, transforming into another random student he had seen in the arcade as soon as he had turned the corner, in hopes ofthrowing her off. ‘I can’t have her finding out I robbed this place using my powers. Ugh... If I had brought Therian, Icould have had him transform into an eagle and fly me away!’ Thought Syn, annoyed. The he ran for the dorms hoping for help from his pet.

Syn got Therian (in case you are wondering how, Therian actually does have 1 form besides animals. He can turn into a little cube that fits into Syn’s pocket) and got back to the arcade, still in his new form. He tried to scam the girl from before, but was apprehended by another girl. They were in a bit of a standoff, but then, a cat jumped on his face. It was startling, to say the least, but Therian got it off of him. However, the surprise had forced him out of his form and back to his normal self... he ended up turning his hand into a blade to protect himself in case they tried something like that again. The second girl threatened to shoot him somehow, but he wasn’t scared.
“Shoot!” Said Syn laughing, “You couldn’t hit me with one of those if you tried. I have very very fast reflexes, and don’t worry, I won’t hesitate to stab you. Plus, if you hit me, I would report you to the head teacher. Obviously, someone cheated on getting tokens.” Syn was pointing at her pockets when he said this. “Now I’ll just go. Come on, Therian!”
He walked off with his golden tiger and thought, ‘She’ll never notice I took her token while I yelled at her, heheheh... only too bad I couldn’t take that other girl’s cats’ collars. They looked valuable.’
Syn reached his room and went in, being careful to lock all the locks behind him. The lazy cat named Therian promptly went to its bed and fell asleep. Meanwhile, Syn pulled out all his tokens, including the new one, and put them in a bank that had been put there by his thoughtful decorators, with several impressive looking locks that Syn thought he would easily be able to pick if he needed to. He then sat down on a couch in front of a TV, sighed, and said, “This has been a good first day of school so far...”
He applied bandages to his wound and then emptied out his pockets of anything else he stole during the day. A wallet, a few loose bills, some change, a gift card for Sunset Café... ‘Might use that later...’ Thought Syn. Then he felt one last thing in his pocket. And he pulled out a small mouse. Instantly disgusted, after all, he was a thief not a hobo, and he did have standards, he threw the mouse at a wall, instantly regretting the decision as he knew it would be difficult to find it again in his new room, although it was a pretty simple room, he didn’t know it very well.
Then, the mouse started speaking. It yelled at him for throwing it against a wall, and then said it wouldn’t tell him how it got the tokens now. “So you’re a shapeshifter and a telepath. Well, you’re locked in this room, so I won’t let you out until you tell me.” Syn began to change his hand into a blade again, until he saw a piece of paper get slid under the door. He slowly and carefully walked over to it, making sure to keep his hand pointed at Delphi the whole time. “Interesting, a slumber party. Could be a good opportunity to steal some stuff, and I’m sure you don’t want to miss it, either, so here’s the deal. If you tell me, you can leave my room and go to the slumber party. If you don’t, then I’ll have Therian help me beat you to a pulp. Oh, and also, I’m really sorry about throwing you against the wall, but maybe next time you won’t turn into a mouse.”
Blinded by over-confidence, Syn Thought, ‘Maybe I will go to the party too and take some more stuff.’ Instead of what he should have thought, which was that someone with therianthropy whom he had robbed had invited him over to a party, and that that alone was suspicious. He should have been watching his back, but he wasn’t...
The gears inside his head began to turn again, ‘If I’m gonna go to that party, I need to get rid of this mouse.’
Luckily for him, he didn’t have to try very hard to do that, because the mouse told him exactly how she got the tokens. It wasn’t very interesting. “Get out of here.” Said Syn. He unlocked the locks on the door and opened it. “Sleep well. I’ll see you at the party!”

Syn closed the door behind the girl, and checked the time on the invite. “8:00!” Exclaimed Syn, checking the time. “It’s already 8:00!”
He quickly threw on an old T-Shirt and a pair of athletic shorts as his “pajamas” and ran out the door, forgetting to lock it behind him. One thing he had remembered though was to bring Therian in his pocket cube form, just in case that cat attacked again.
He checked the invite again to see where he was supposed to go and ran, since he thought he was a little late. “I wouldn’t want them thinking I don’t want to steal from them,” Said Syn to himself, denying that the real reason he wanted to come was to actually make friends.
