It took a while, but introduction to a new character here, it's not much but it'll do haha

Critiques are much recommended and appreciated if you do read this lmao
“Eevee, use Iron Tail,” Crimson called out. The Evolution Pokemon let out a small yip and ran towards Pharoli as its tail gleamed metallic silver. With a high jump into the air, Eevee did a front flip, slamming the Iron Tail down atop of Pharoli’s head. Unfortunately, before Eevee could land the hit, the metallic shimmer stopped and the Iron Tail became...well, just a tail.

Pharoli was quick to dodge it nonetheless thanks to Kelvin’s command to move out of the way. Crimson sported a pout on his face, kind of upset the move didn’t work out. “Don’t be upset,” Emerald chipped in from the sidelines. “Eevee will eventually get it down.”

“Yeah, I know she can,” Crimson admitted. “But I’m just worried about the upcoming Gym in Fuede City.” Both Kelvin and Emerald nodded, understanding his predicament. With a bit of research on their electronic devices, it wasn’t hard to figure out the first gym is a Rock-Type Gym, to which Crimson is clearly at a disadvantage with Coburnt and Eevee.

“Eevee, that stump over there, let’s keep on trying to focus the attack on your tail,” Crimson called out. Eevee ran towards the stump, and with some fancy footwork, she quickly maneuvered herself onto her front paws and smacked the tree stump horizontally with a half glowing tail.

“Maybe you can focus on the contest first,” Emerald perked. “The Fuede City Contest is in two days and we arrive in Fuede City by tonight.” Crimson nodded his head at that plan. “We can watch Kelvin’s challenge first, then the contest, then my gym challenge afterwards,” Crimson said, adding on to Emerald’s plan.

“Can we get back to my training please,” Kelvin called out. “I need it for my gym battle too.”

“What do you mean, you got a whole Water-Type and Ground-Type against the gym, you’re going to do amazingly,” Crimson stated, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

“Right, but type advantages doesn’t always mean the battle would go in my favor,” Kelvin informed. “There’s lots of strategizing and determination that is put into battle that could always turn the tides.”

Crimson gave a slight hum, never considering how much effort battling is. He is a newer trainer after all, he needs to remember all this info.

“Eve!” Crimson turned his head towards his Eevee, seeing what she was calling on. “Eve!” However, Eevee was right beside him. Crimson heard the Pokemon call again, but this time his Eevee’s mouth didn’t even open. “Eve!”

“Crim, behind you,” Kelvin called out, initially realizing who was making that noise.

Crimson turned around and saw another Eevee standing, just a few inches away from a bush. Crimson’s Eevee hesitantly pawed her away forward to where this other Eevee was standing. She poked his paw at the other Eevee’s stature, seeing what was going on.

The bush rustled behind the two Eevee, when a figure suddenly appeared and picked up Eevee. “Eevee, there you are,” the person said with a slightly deep tone. “You can’t just run away like that.”

The guy had a tall stature and a fit build, with his hair swept to one side. The guy’s most prominent feature was him wearing a silver varsity jacket. He seemed tired and gasping for air, evident with some debris and fallen leaves on his hair.

“You shouldn’t run away from your trainer like that,” the stranger said as he nuzzled against Eevee, to which Eevee retaliated with a quick smack of her tail against the male’s face. She freed herself before rushing back to where Crimson stood. The stranger only looked aghast until he felt a tug on his pants, where he saw his Eevee begging for attention.

“I’m sorry, but who are you,” Emerald asked, as both her and Kelvin appeared beside Crimson to watch the scene unfold before their eyes.

As if the guy didn’t realize he had an audience in front of him, the stranger widened his eyes in surprise. “Oh, sorry,” the guy scratched the back of his head sheepishly. “I didn’t notice you there, I was just chasing my Eevee since it ran away after some Contest practice. The name’s Kaesar.”

Kaesar stretched out his hand to instill that he wanted a handshake, which Crimson grasped the hand and shook it respectfully. “Um, I’m Crimson,” Crimson started off, then gestured to both of his friends besides him. “And this is Emerald and Kelvin.” Both Emerald and Kelvin shook his hand after.

“Excuse me, but did you just say Contest practice,” Crimson asked, wondering if he heard the guy mention it correctly.

Kaesar promptly nodded his head at the question. “Yup, and it’s already in the bag for me. By tomorrow I will already have both the Fuede Gym Badge and Fuede Contest RIbbon.’ Kaesar pulled out his badge case which had contained the Fuede City Badge.

The badge was fairly simplistic. It was rectangularly shaped, with both the top left and bottom right corners cut off. The badge was split into four different color gradients, orange-brown-black-white, respectively from diagonally top left to bottom right. Replaced on the cut corner of the bottom right was a bright red gem that was bulged out of the badge.

“Impressive,” Crimson said in awe, but determination was in his eyes. “But my Pokemon and I are going to win that contest.”

“Bet,” Kaesar said, he crossed his arms. “We just have to see at the Contest then. I’ll just have to show you how much better my Eevee and I are.”

Right as Kaesar finished saying that, an earthquake shook the ground. The supposed earthquake felt stronger and louder every moment until behind Kaesar appeared two large grey Pokemon. Both of the same species being bipedal with a horn atop their noses. ‘Rhy, Rhy’ The Pokemon called out.

“Oh my god,” Emerald yelled out loud, pointing towards the pair of Pokemon that appeared behind. “Watch out Kaesar,” Emerald called out loud.

Kaesar turned around seeing two Rhydon’s stare back at him intimidatingly. The male trainer only smugly looked at them before quickly ducking as one of the Rhydon barely missed it’s Hammer Arm move.

“Oh look,” Kaesar said nonchalantly. “Our contest practice finally found us.” The Rhydon’s roared at that comment, leaning back and smashing it’s head forward, intending to hit where Kaesar was with a Horn Attack. Luckily, the male was able to roll out of the way quickly enough.

“You used wild Rhydon’s as your target practice for your contest performance,” Crimson shouted at the guy in question, in which Kaesar only shrugged, not thinking he was in the wrong here.

“Both of you stop,” Kelvin called out the duo of trainers. “Slugob use Water Gun!” Kelvin threw out his Slugob’s Pokeball where the Pokemon was able to summon a Water Gun midair and hit one of the Rhydon. “Pharoli, use Mud-Slap!” The Hound Pokemon, which was out already, opened its muzzle which shot a light spray of mud into the other Rhydon’s, temporarily blinding it for a bit.

“Bunnalope, use Leech Seed,” Emerald called out to the Jackalope Pokemon, releasing the Pokemon out of her Pokeball. Some seeds blast out of the tuft of fur on Bunnalope and tangle the Rhydon that got blasted by Slugob’s Water Gun. “That buys us some time, go!” Kelvin yelled at the group.

The group of teens quickly ran away from the scene, where the Rhydon’s started rampaging the area. Luckily, everyone got out unharmed. Crimson immediately blasted onto Kaesar though. “What made you think that attacking innocent wild Pokemon would be a good idea for target practice,” Crimson said coming on Kaesar for his idiocracy.

“What’s the problem,” Kaesar said. “We pulled off some impressive combinations and there was no harm done.” Kaesar blatantly said. “I don’t exactly see the issue. You’re too sensitive about random wild Pokemon.”

“You don’t get it,” Crimson exclaimed back. “Why would you purposely attack Pokemon that did nothing to you. Couldn’t a tree trunk or rock have done?”

“It’s called getting genuine experience,” Kaesar explained his perspective, though annoyed with Crimson’s sensitivity. “Wild Pokemon are much more unpredictable, that way my Pokemon and I can prepare for anything that’s to come.”

Emerald and Kelvin stopped Crimson from saying more by putting their hands on his shoulder as a way to calm him down. Crimson only huff in retaliation. Kaesar did have a point, but Crimson didn’t like the idea of it still. That is the harsh reality of Pokemon sometimes and Crimson realized that it wasn’t all peaches and cream early on of his journey.

‘Rhy-don’ The Rhydon screech was way too close for comfort for the group and when Crimson turned around, he found a huge rock being thrown towards his position. With literally no time to react, Crimson stood frozen and clenched his eyes tightly. “Eevee, Double Kick!”

Eevee jumped in front of Crimson it’s hind legs facing the boulder. With two hard kicks, the first stopping the boulder and the second kick smashing the boulder into pieces, Crimson opened his eyes realizing that he was smashed into smithereens. Crimson looked at the Eevee, eyes widening.

“Good job Eevee,” Kaesar called out, swooping up Eevee into his arms. Kaesar gave a simple nod to Crimson, insignifying a ‘you are welcome’ type of vibe.

The Rhydon’s still would not give up, seemingly more agitated did another Rock Throw each. Two massive boulders headed towards Kaesar. “Eevee, Double Kick!” Kaesar’s Eevee easily destroyed one of the boulders, but the second boulder came at the Eevee, Kaesar’s Pokemon momentarily defenseless. “Eevee!” Kaesar called out, completely ignoring the boulder that was heading directly at him as well.

As fast as Kaesar’s Eevee came to save Crimson, Crimson’s Eevee came in like a blur. She shouted a small yip and did her backflip, her tail making direct contact with the boulder. Almost as if suspended in midair, Eevee struggled deflecting or smashing the boulder, evident with her small cry of struggle.

Crimson had an idea pop into his head at that moment. “Eevee, use Iron Tail!” With a cry, Eevee put all her power into the use of her tail. Slowly, Eevee’s tail started blinking in and out of a metallic shimmer. “Eevee, you can do it!” Crimson said out loud. Mustering her strength, Eevee managed to deflect the boulder back towards the Rhydon with a solid steel tail. Not enough strength yet to smash the boulder completely, but a deflection was already good for this situation.

“Eevee pulled off an Iron Tail,” Emerald said, clasping her hands in great enthusiasm. Eevee had widened her eyes as if she was the most proudest herself in quite a long time.

“Eevee, great job,” Crimson exclaimed. “Do another Iron Tail!” Crimson pointed at the Rhydon’s, seeing them go after the group again. Eevee jumped into the air and did another front flip, landing an Iron Tail right on top of its head. Another perfect Iron Tail.

The Rhydon flinched and backed out. Kelvin commanded his Slugob for another Water Gun and Emerald did the same with Leech Seed just to immobilize the Rhydon's and stop attacking them. The duo of Rhydon finally ran away, or were more so blasted away with Slugob’s powerful Water Gun. Emerald gave Kelvin a high five, both of them doing major damage to the wild Pokemon as Rhydons were quad weak to both grass and water.

“Well what do you have to say for yourself,” Crimson said, turning to look at Kaesar and his Eevee, but to his dismay, they were nowhere to be found. It was most presumably that they had snuck away during this whole engagement.

Crimson let out a huge sigh before Emerald perked. “Look guys, the entrance to Fuede City is right there,” while her Bunalope jumped with excitement, the emotion almost on par with Emerald’s.

“The Rhydon's must’ve chased and pushed us all the way here,” Kelvin guessed, returning both his Pharoli and Slugob in their Pokeball. “Which also means the gym challenge is just tomorrow then.”

“After that is the contest,” Crimson reminded them. “And where I’ll show that Kaesar.” Crimson doesn’t know what exactly he was going to prove to Kaesar, that he was a better coordinator? That he shouldn’t be messing with wild Pokemon? Who knows exactly. But with Eevee learning Iron Tail, it’ll sure come in handy for his contest and gym challenge. But for now, Kelvin has his Gym Challenge tomorrow and they are all there to watch this battle go down.
