Casual

NonAnalogue “Ah, you look so much better, Ashwyn!” Marie said, smoothing out the rumples in the shirt. “And don’t you feel better too?”

Ashwyn looked herself over in the mirror. She wasn’t used to seeing a color on her that wasn’t green.

“Plaid’s a good fit for you,” Lila added from her vantage point on the bed. “How do you like it?”

“It’s… different. Not as comfortable as my jacket.” Ashwyn looked to her side, at the old green coat hanging from the back of a nearby chair.

Lila followed her gaze and cracked a smile. “That’s because you’ve been breaking that jacket in for the past, what, five years? You know, some people wear more than one thing once in a while. What about the leggings? How do they feel?”

Ashwyn picked one foot up, then put it back down and tried the other, feeling the fabric against her legs. “It’s tight. Not good for running.”

“Oh, Ashwyn.” Marie shook her head. “Not every outfit needs to be pragmatic. Surely you’re not on the job every day.”

“Well, not every day,” Lila said before Ashwyn could answer. “Just most days.”

Marie cocked her head to the side and gave Ashwyn another once-over. “Either way. It’s good to have some clothes for the rare times that you aren’t working. That way, if you happen to come across the right girl, you’ll be able to make a good first impression. And who knows? You could find Ms. One-in-a-Million any day.”

Ashwyn blushed.
