Pokemon the Journey: Book One: Sinnoh - Chapter 4: Poketch Company Crisis!

by YourLittleSylvia

YourLittleSylvia Lucas and I were going to check out the Poketch Company to find it was completely empty and devoid of anyone or anything! We went up the stairs and found the whole company crew tied up! I wonder where the leader of the company is...? We never did find him.

Anyway, it seems Team Galactic's behind this again! But what's this? Sky and Storm know I'm related to their leader!

I highly dislike some of my family. And this is why.
Lucas and I found ourselves outside the Poketch Company building, but it was closed. I was confused. I thought it was open all day, every day, even the holidays! Then again, I didn't know much about the Poketch Company, so I was kinda assuming.

"Why's it closed?" I asked Lucas.

"Don't know. Usually it's open all day, every day, even the holidays."

Wow. Way to use my word choice, buddy.

"Huh. That's what I'd assumed, but I assume that about most companies." I glanced back at the building. It was definitely tall, but not nearly as tall as the other skyscrapers in the city. "Should we knock anyway? Why's it closed?"

Lucas shrugged and leaned in to knock on an automatic door when it slid open.

We both found this rather odd and exchanged worried glances, entering the building (while the lights were off, by the way). I swallowed a lump in my throat. Something didn't feel right.

"Sylv, your watch can make a flashlight as well."

"Seriously?!" I exclaimed. "This watch thing has everything!"

Lucas shrugged. "That's why it's essential for Trainers. Mine's due for an upgrade, though."

I nodded, flipping through my apps. "Let me see..." I muttered, going through them all. I couldn't find a thing.

"Uh, here," Lucas said, flipping a switch on the side of my watch, making it light up in front of me.

"Whoa!" I said, startled.

Lucas grinned. "After you, milady."

I gave him a lopsided 'Really?' smile. "Why thank you, kind sir," I said, curtseying and leading the way, since I was the one with the flashlight. I found some stairs and walked up them, looking ahead. Since we were getting further away from sunlight, it got darker and darker. At the top of the stairs, I heard a small noise. "W-what's that?" I asked, growing scared.

Lucas steeled himself, getting in front of me. "I don't know, but it can't be good."

Suddenly, there was a loud bang. I was frightened. I noticed a rolling chair rolling over to me with a note.

HELP. WERE STUCK.

It looked like a child had written it.

Stuck? Oh!

"Lucas!" I exclaimed, running in the direction where the chair had rolled. There were two people: A man and a boy, who looked around six. they were tied up and muzzled. I gasped and hurriedly untied the boy while Lucas had the man.

The boy hugged me, crying.

"W-what happened?!" Lucas exclaimed.

The man breathed heavily, regaining his breath after inhaling from that weird cloth. "T-there were these weird, blue-haired people in strange uniforms! I was just working on another Poketch app when my son came crying to me that someone stole his Shinx. I had to get up from work right away, but then these men came and tied us and everyone else up!"

I gasped. "E-everyone else?! You mean, everyone who works at this company?!"

The man nodded. Quickly, we three dispersed (with the man taking his son with him) to free the other workers. Soon, the lights were turned back on and my watch's flashlight off.

The leader of the company wasn't there, it seemed. The workers all told me there was a third and fourth floor and that most likely those men were at the very top. I wondered what Team Galactic would want with Poketches.

Yeah, there was no doubt that was Team Galactic. What, you thought I was clueless, like most protagonists? I'm looking at you, Ash Ketchum. I don't care if you're world-famous, I've seen on TV how doped you look by Team Rocket's quote-unquote "evil" plans.

*Ahem* Excuse me...

Lucas and I sprinted to the top of the building (the fourth floor) and found many more Team Galactic goons than just Sky and Storm, but I recognized them in the crowd, too. They were the ones leading the whole thing.

Sky and Storm turned around, smirking. "So you finally showed up."

I gritted my teeth. "What's up with you guys?! First Lucas and now the Poketch Company?! Why do you even want Poketches, anyway?!"

Sky and Storm chuckled darkly. "Oh, we don't want the Poketches. We want the Pokemon powering them. We need all the energy we can get for our grand scheme."

"'Grand scheme'?" Lucas echoed.

I growled. I didn't know much about their plan, but I remember Dad saying something about generating enough energy to invoke Legendary Pokemon.

This is what I meant when I argued with Lucas about researching Pokemon. I didn't want my research to be used against me.

Pip jumped off my shoulder, both of us raring to battle. Chimchar mirrored Pip on Lucas's side, Lucas also steeling himself for battle.

There is no way we're letting Team Galactic get away with this.

Sky and Storm both let out their Bronzor and Glameow. Glameow now had a Soothe Bell on a collar around her neck.

Did Sky and Glameow have an emotional connection? That caught me a bit off-guard.

"Glameow, Return!"

"Pip, dodge!"

Glameow's bell rang and she leapt up at Pip, launching her entire being at Pip, who jumped and rolled out of the way, being unable to quickly sidestep like a Pikachu or Chimchar, who were used to land.

I bit my lip. This was going to be a tough battle. "Pip, Bubble!" I exclaimed.

Pip knew what I was trying to do--somehow, I knew that. Pip circled around Glameow, who chased him until he led them to the edge of the roof. Pip jumped up as soon as Glameow pounced at him from the front and did a somersault in midair, striking Glameow with Bubble as he was upside-down. When he landed on his feet, he turned around and Bubbled her again. The Bubble was filled with the sticky seafoam-like substance and slowed Glameow down.

Glameow growled dangerously at Pip, but we didn't falter.

"Bronzor, Confusion!" Storm commanded.

Bronzor picked up Pip. I growled at Storm. "You'll regret that."

"Chimchar, use Ember!" Lucas exclaimed. Chimchar tilted his head up, collected heat energy, and released several small flame-balls at Bronzor. It was a direct hit.

Bronzor staggered and dropped Pip, who was high in the air. I ran over to where Pip was and pushed some Galactic grunts out of the way, catching Pip just before he hit the ground.

"Phew! You're okay, buddy!" I exclaimed, smiling. Pip grinned up at me.

Some grunts yelled some things at me, but I shouted back at them, so it was okay.

Don't ask what I yelled. I'm not even sure myself. It was just some weird babble.

Sky and Storm gave me weird looks when I came back with Pip in my arms. "You're weird," Storm said.

I beamed at him. "I know! Everyone says that! 'S why they love me!" Pip jumped out of my arms and rolled his eyes. Yes, I know he rolled his eyes. Don't ask how.

Lucas chuckled. "Oh, we know you're weird. Just these guys don't understand your kind of weird."

I smirked. "Then let's show 'em! Pip, you with me?"

Pip nodded back at me. We sprinted forward--both of us. I ran over to Glameow with Pip. "C'mon, Pip! Peck!"

Glameow was surprised, still struggling to get free. I turned around and kept a focus on Bronzor

And for good reason.

"Bronzor, use Tackle!" Storm commanded.

"Glameow, get out of there!"

Unfortunately for Sky, Glameow was unable to get free of the seafoam and Pip was able to Peck her 'till she fainted. Meanwhile, Bronzor launched itself at Pip. Chimchar was trying to catch up with Bronzor, but I knew it wouldn't make it. I threw myself in front of Pip and held my hands out. Bronzor rammed into me, but I was able to catch two of the spheres on its corners and hold Bronzor back. My hands probably had bruises on them and hurt like heck, but I didn't care. I just held Bronzor back until my feet slid to a ledge that kept me from falling off of the roof right then and there.

Lucas was shocked. "Sylvia!" he exclaimed. "Chimchar, Ember, now!"

"Bronzor, Iron Defense!"

Bronzor glowed brightly, its force growing stronger as its defenses strengthened, but I didn't give in. "Pip, Pound!" I exclaimed.

Pip hesitated.

I stared him in the eye. "DO IT!" I yelled urgently.

Pip obliged, making his flippers glow. As soon as Chimchar's Ember hit, Pip came in for the kill. At first, he launched himself at me, to which I whipped around and used Bronzor as a shield. That was part of our strategy. Its weak spot was exposed, which was exactly where Chimchar had hurt it before.

Okay, thinking about that, imagine if you had a severe burn on your stomach and then someone punched you there.

Ouch! Poor Bronzor...

I placed Bronzor on the floor gently, suddenly feeling bad. Sky and Storm growled. "Whatever. We have the energy we needed. Have your stupid Pokemon back," Storm spat.

"It won't matter anyway. We just need a little bit more time to finish our plan," Sky told us. "Not like you know. Your uncle won't even tell your father, so you don't know." She smirked at me, knowing full well who I was.

I avoided her eye contact when she released all the Pokemon Team Galactic was holding. They took back any equipment they had with them and left. Lucas turned to face me. "What was that about?"

I sighed. "Sky was talking about my uncle. Remember? He leads Team Galactic? He doesn't tell Dad because he's afraid Dad'll betray them. But Dad fully supports them, even if he doesn't know what their goal is. It's a nightmare, having to deal with them all." I sighed. "Let's go back. We know Team Galactic needs energy, and besides; we saved the Pokemon. That's what counts right now."

Lucas nodded and followed me silently. We didn't talk about anything between ourselves on the way down. When we arrived on the second floor, everyone was reunited with their beloved Pokemon. The boy with the Shinx from before and his father thanked us dearly and upgraded Lucas's Poketch. He acted excited, but as soon as we left the Poketch Company building, an uncomfortable silence rested between us.

"Are we going to Oreburgh City?" Lucas finally asked.

I nodded. "PokeCenter first, though."

He nodded. "R-right..."

We were silent with each other until we left the city to see a familiar face.

"Well, lookie who finally came," Barry smirked. "Heya, guys!"

So I did a thing. Now have your chapter. I see many people are already liking all THREE chapters I posted and I felt so touched, I needed to make a fourth. Don't expect these to make sense. I've been trying to make them as good as possible, of course, what with grammar and everything, but I just can't seem to make it seem like an actual story. Or maybe that's my inner artist critiquing myself, who knows? Anyway.

I did the thing.

Here it is.

Enjoy it.

Sylvia out!
