Blaire Witch Nuzlocke: P1

by CELESTlAL

CELESTlAL My log of a personal Nuzlocke run. It is witch and arcane themed, and the player character is cursed with bad luck that affects her Pokemon.
Nuzlocke rules:
  • Any Pokémon that faints is considered dead, and must be released or put in the Pokémon Storage System permanently.
  • The player may only catch the first Pokémon encountered in each area, and none else. If the first Pokémon encountered faints or flees, there are no second chances. If the first encounter in the area is a Double Battle in dark grass, the player may choose which of the two Pokémon they would like to catch. If there's a static encounter in the area, the player is allowed to capture them despite already capturing a Pokémon in that area. Shiny Pokémon also do not apply to this rule.
  • The general consensus is that players must also nickname all of their Pokémon, for the sake of forming stronger emotional bonds.
  • The general consensus is that a black out/white out is considered to be "game over", even if there are Pokémon left in the PC.
  • Species/Dupes Clause: Adjusting the first encounter rule to prevent the player from having to catch multiple of the same Pokémon, for the sake of variety. Generally this means that the trainer can keep fighting Pokémon in the area until one is encountered that has not been caught yet, which then immediately counts as the first encounter.
  • As another mercy rule, if the player runs into a Shiny Pokémon, the player may still catch it, regardless of whether or not it is the first encounter in the area. It also does not need to be released if it faints. This is often called the Shiny Clause.
  • The Graveyard Clause: Any Pokemon that dies will be sent to the graveyard. When a Pokemon dies and there is one already present in the graveyard, the previous resident of the graveyard may revive itself as an undead Pokemon. Undead Pokemon will die permanently once they are knocked out again, and go to heaven. No Pokemon can be retrieved from heaven.
Player Character: Blaire.
"Quiet but determined. She prefers to excel on the sidelines and observe. Blaire suffers from bad luck, and has lot several pets and loved ones in accidents. She wears a purple and black dress. Her eyes are hazel, and her hair is black. She dyed the tips a lighter brown, creating an ombre effect."
Rival Character: Corvo.
"Corvo is boisterous and a self-starter. He often acts without thinking, and his overconfidence tends to get him into trouble with his elders. He has no sense of sensitivity or respect if it doesn't affect him. He wears dark and casual clothes. His hair is dark brown and styled."

Blaire is often called cursed, but tries not to pay it any mind. She's finally decided to explore the world, and was drawn into challenging the gym leaders by multiple insistent parties. Corvo had always planned to attempt the challenge regardless, but hopes to move much farther ahead of her.

Pallet Town

"Her mother was anxious to see her leave the house, and told her that the Professor wished to see her. Blaire was mildly surprised; she had already said her goodbyes to everyone, including him. Was this some sort of surprise party or last attempt to make her stay? She sincerely hoped not. She had to go soon.

Regardless, she entered his house. No one but Daisy. She made polite conversation and left. In his lab was Corvo, who was loudly complaining about the Professor's absence. She left as quickly as she entered.

For Blaire, there were no other options left. She decided to cut her losses and leave, before any other villagers attempted to distract her. Of course, fate had other plans. It always did. The Professor caught her before she left, and mumbled some vague nonsense before dragging her back to the lab.

As it turned out, Corvo had conveniently chosen this day to begin his gym challenge. The Professor both handed them a Pokedex and let Blaire chose her Pokemon before Corvo. She ignored his groans as she looked over the options."

Thorne: Bulbasaur, Male. Rash Nature.
Thorne is impulsive and protective of his loved ones. Due to his typically higher level, he will often jump in front of his allies in battle, even if he is at a disadvantage. He looks over the team as his family and responsibility.

"Despite having a type advantage and more than enough confidence, Corvo's ill-fated challenge was settled quickly. Blaire had to gently remove Thorne's jaw from the tail of Corvo's Charmander, who was writhing on the ground in a particularly ungraceful manner. Sputtering and cradling the pitiful lizard in his arms, he swore he would get her back as he ran off.

Now finally left in peace, Blaire stood on the border of her small town. Patting Thorne's head, she knelt down and began to check the laces of her new running shoes. She had bought them with birthday money the day she announced she was leaving."
Route One
"Blaire had read many books on the wild paths of her region, but was still rather surprised when a rat-like creature attempted to nibble on her shoelaces. Thorne was making short work of the issue when it suddenly sprang into her bag, spilling numerous pre-packed supplies. There was an audible click and a red flash. Blaire fished the now sealed poke ball from her bag. She supposed she could make this work."
Dorian: Rattata, Male. Impish nature.
Dorian is devilish by nature, and enjoys stealing small treats when Blaire isn't paying attention. He prefers sweet berries the most, and hates dry berries. He appears to have little honor, but despises the weak being bullied.

To be continued, later. I have plenty of content to catch up on, since I'm in Celadon City. This is more of a side log that I may or may not keep updated. Just wanted to try the creative corner out, since I registered to use the trainer card maker!
