A World Without Color: AWWC Chapter 14: Alone?

by Silvermist599

Silvermist599 This portion of the story is soon coming to a close, but will Noah succeed? Will he be able to save everyone for the fate that awaits them?
“B-But how?” Nate asked in confusion, backing away from the school’s principal. “You left!”

“Did I now?” He said menacingly. “No, I simply needed you to believe I did.” He continued. “I knew your plan from the start.” He dug around in his pocket. “You’ve defeated me before, time and time again, even in two different worlds, but this time, I’m afraid you’ve run out of luck.” He said before pulling his arm out of his coat pocket and revealing-

“My necklace?!” Nate cried in horror. “How-, where-, why?”

“No, not your necklace, the necklace of another Nate Moral who came before you. One who bested me in the past. This time however, there’s no escape, no second chance, and no way for you to defeat me.” He gloated. “And now, it’s time for you to fall for a final time.” He said before raising a green switch in his other hand and pressing it. Before my eyes, all three of my friends immediately fell to the ground, green electricity coursing through their bodies, immobilizing them. “What!” The principal yelled when he realized I was still standing. “How are you still standing?” He continued talking, but by then I was already out the door. I ran through the halls and toward one of the schools side doors, but guards were rushing in. I rushed into my piano classroom and threw a keyboard stand at the window shattering it before I jumped out of the school. I didn’t know where I was running, or where I could go. Nowhere was safe. Not even my own home.

I ran all the way to Nate’s house before stopping and I didn’t think twice before ripping up the fake grass and jumping down the rope. I cleared everything off of Nate’s desk and searched around for a flashdrive, finally finding one in the lowermost drawer of his desk. I quickly set everything he had to download onto the flashdrive from the computer. Then I finally got a chance to think about what had happened. Mr. Colstrom had had Nate’s necklace, but not the Nate I know. Not even the Nate from my world of color. Somehow there was a third Nate?

Finally, I heard the computer ding, signifying that it had finished copying and I pulled the flash drive out. I then told the computer to erase all data and left before it had finished. I had to get out of there. I started running toward the dead forest toward the coast of the island away from the school. I didn’t even bother replacing the base’s disguise, they’d find it eventually anyway, especially if they already had Nate’s, well one of the Nate’s necklaces.

Okay, this is getting way too confusing,’ I thought to myself. ‘So there are three Nates. The Nate from my world has one necklace, his. Mr. Colstrom has the one from the Nate I don’t know… but where’s the third one?’ I thought before thinking over everything I’d learned in this new world. Suddenly it came to me. ‘That’s it,’I thought, ‘I have it! Well, the other me, but that must be what made us switch places!’ I thought, finally putting all the pieces together. It also helped to explain why Mr. Colstrom’s switch didn’t work on me. I’d never been through ‘training,’ so therefore he’d never have gotten to inject them with whatever caused that.

“I know what I need to do, but it won’t be easy,” I say more to myself than anyone else. I stopped right where I was, looking out at the ocean from the edge of the forest. “I have to get that necklace.”
