Fun fact, the horns that sprout from the side of her head are actually made of bone. And the facial markings aren’t paint; they appeared when her quirk manifested.

Spoiler: Spirit Sense Explained

No, it’s nothing like Spider Sense. Just... no. Essentially she can see, smell, feel, hear, communicate, etc. with spirits that no one else can sense. As a result, many people think she’s insane, or so lonely that she created imaginary friends. These spirits can enter her body, or “fuse,” in which case the two become one, and her body changes, becoming a shadowy silhouette of what the spirit looks like while retaining a skeletal outline of the spirit. The only things that don’t change when she fuses are her horns and facial markings. The fusion has a reasonable time limit, and if she takes enough damage, there is a possibility the spirit could be knocked out of her. It also takes up to three seconds to enter a state of complete fusion or change to a different spirit. Wearing flowy clothing (hence the hero costume) can shorten this time period considerably.
