Anonymous Message: A MLP: FIM fanfic: Anonymous Message: The Letter (Chapter 1)

by ThePlayfulFox

ThePlayfulFox Northern Stars receives a message from an unnamed pony. Can she find out who sent this letter? And why is she needed? Note: This is a MLP Fanfic. If you dislike MLP, this is not for you.
Northern Star woke up in the town of Bayyou. She got out of her bed and fixed the covers before heading out of her bedroom and getting breakfast. After eating, she left her house and trotted on the wooden docks that made up the roads for her hometown. Most ponies manes would frizz from the humidity, but Northern Star was used to it, and so were everypony else that lived here.

She trotted to a wooden shack that was her job and opened the swinging doors. The shack was a bit dark with shelves filled with jars of plants and creams. There was a counter in the back and a lantern hanging from the ceiling. "Hello, Water Lily. What do you need me to do today?" she asked a light green earth pony with a dark blue mane with pink streaks. Her mane was tied up with a yellow bandana that Northern Start gave her two Hearth's Warming ago. She found her boss a good friend, everypony found her a good friend.

The green pony picked up some baskets in her mouth and placed them on the wooden counter. "Aah need ya to take this ta a group who went and followed a fifolet. They are with Dr. Grey Cross. Aah added lagniappe, a little something extra," She said with a wink with her yellow eyes.

Northern Star nodded and picked up the baskets with her magic. A light pink aura surrounded the baskets as she trotted out of the shop, the baskets following behind her. She trotted over to the medic's shack and entered. "I came here from Water Lily's and-" Northern Star started before she was cut off by a dark grey unicorn.
"Just put them on the table over there. I can't believe that these foals went to follow a fifolet! Didn't their parents teach them better? The worse part is that they are adults," the stallion said.
Northern Star nodded but then spoke in their defense. "Don't you remember when most ponies come from out of town. The bright light is kinda hard to resist. I'm just saying, most ponies don't really know about fifolets. They are only found around certain swamps."
The grey doctor nodded and sighed as he picked opened the baskets. "Thanks, Star, and give Water Lily my thanks."

Northern Star nodded as she left and trotted back to the shop, waiting for any order that she had to deliver in town. On her way, she was intercepted by a light grey pegasus pony with yellow eyes that faced different directions. Her mane was a lemon yellow. This pony ran into her and accidentally crashed them both into the water below. Luckily, none of her mail was soaked through. The pony said sorry and stuck her head in her bag, in which she gave to Northern Star. Instead of using her mouth, like non-unicorns do, she used her horn. The grey pony nodded, the flew off.

Northern Star looked at her normally white hooves. They were now a brown color due to the mud. She sighed. She would clean herself up before she went back to Water Lily, for she didn't want to track mud in her shop. The white unicorn entered her house and set the letter down on her kitchen counter, she would look at it later, and entered her bathroom. Using her magic, she turned on the clean tap water that she would use to clean her messy hooves. While she did that, she saw a white unicorn with light blue eyes, a light pink and purple mane stare back at her. She smiled at her reflection before turning off the water. She wiped her hooves on a towel and exited her house to finish her job, hoping that she wouldn't have any other pony crash into her.

Her job was finished. The sun had set, and she was ready to read the letter, that she had totally remembered and not forgotten until she got dinner. She opened it up and started to read. However, it didn't say who it was from. She flipped it over to see if there was anything on the back. Nothing. She glared at the note and reread it.

"Dear Northern Star," it read, "It has been forever since we last spoke, old friend. I remember the time you finally got your cutiemark. Last in our class. Speaking of which, you have a cutiemark of a star, right? Star-shaped marks are associated with magic, and I need some help with that. I need some help with a spell, and you might be the right pony for the job. Hope you come to Canterlot to help me out!

Your Old Friend,"
That was where it left off. Who sent her the letter? She looked at the envelope. Didn't give an address to a home, but the castle itself. Northern Star sighed and placed the letter down as she went to bed, curiosity eating her up through the night.
