Ava and Elijah walked casually through Route 1 on their way to Santalune City for their first Kalos Region Gym Battle. Neither said a word as they trudged along through the dirt path. They both heard a whimpering to their left. They immediately turned to see where the saddening sounds was coming from.
Ava noticed an Eevee on the ground with a scrape on it's knee. She hurried over to it and being using supplies in her First-Aid kit to well, aid it. Elijah smiled as she did this. He noticed how gentile and caring she was whenever she tended to it.
Eevee nuzzled Ava's arm and she picked it up. Elijah could sense a bond between these two growing quite rapidly. "We need to get her to a Pokémon Center immediately." Ava said storming past Elijah.
"Yes Ma'am.." Elijah said as he followed closely behind.
Ava softly scratched Eevee behind the ears as they walked on to the Pokémon Center. Elijah knew for certain that these two were meant for each other. He knew Eevee could sense the love and determination Ava had for her. Pokémon just had a way of doing that.
About 5 minutes later they arrived in Santalune City and made headlong towards the direction of the Pokémon Center. They made their way into the Center and Eevee was given to Nurse Joy for medical attention. Ava sat down on a nearby couch and starred at the floor. She hoped Eevee would be alright. She knew it was just a scratch, but you never know.
Elijah sat down next to her and wanted to give her space. He knew from past experience that when woman are having emotional experiences, it's best not to bother them. Ava snapped out of her focus and looked around as her stomach grumbled. She was hungry. Elijah heard it too.
"I'll get you something to eat." He said as he stood up and walked over to the cafeteria.
He came back with a ham and cheese sandwich and a bag of "League Chips". He handed the food to Ava and she thanked him. It wasn't 30 minutes after she finished eating that she fell asleep on the couch they were sitting on.
Elijah looked over at Ava sleeping and saw her shivering. He went to the front counter and asked for some spare blankets. He managed to obtain some and went back over to the couch. He laid the blanket over Ava, but since she was asleep sitting up it was kind of awkward. Elijah sat down next to her and decided that he too was tired and tried to fall asleep. He was almost fully asleep when Ava slid down onto his shoulder while she slept. Elijah wasn't going to try to move her so they stayed like that all night.
The next morning they awoke to the sound of people coming in and out of the Pokémon Center. Ava woke first and wondered how she ended up on Elijah's shoulder. Her movement caused Elijah to wake up, and he thought it best not to mention the night before. Ava stood up and walked to the counter to ask about Eevee. Nurse Joy said it was best to let Eevee sleep in as long as she could, so that the healing process could have a better effect.
While they waited, Ava and Elijah decided to walk next door to a restaurant to eat Breakfast. Ava ordered a pancake, while Elijah got a waffle. They sat, spoke, and ate for the next hour until it was time to go check on Eevee. As they walked back into the Pokémon Center Eevee was running around playing with the other Pokémon inside.
Nurse Joy smiled and said, "Eevee healed just fine, if anything happens make sure to bring her straight back in so we can tend to her."
Ava smiled and said, "Thanks a lot Nurse Joy!" and went to see how Eevee was doing.
Eevee noticed Ava and ran up into her arms. Ava hugged her back and Elijah was impressed that Ava was quickly becoming used to bonding with your Pokémon.
Ava sat Eevee down on the ground and said, "Well Eevee, I guess it's time to take you back home, it's been very fun having you around."
Eevee stood still quite confused. It didn't really have a home before. Ava turned to Elijah with a "what do I do" look on her face.
Elijah understood and simply told her, "Catch it."
Ava was stunned and turned back around and crouched in front of Eevee. "Hey Eevee, do you want to come with me on my journey?" she asked.
Eevee smiled and jumped up and down. It was a clear yes. Ava stood up and reached for an empty Pokeball and tossed it in the air. It landed on Eevee's head. One Tick. Two Ticks. Three ticks. Caught
Ava had the biggest smile Elijah had seen her have yet. She picked up the Pokémon and without think turned around and hugged Elijah. Elijah didn't really expect this and just kind of froze. Ava noticed what exactly she was doing and turned away quickly blushing.
She released both Eevee and Fennekin. "Fennekin, meet Eevee. Eevee, meet Fennekin" Ava said to her partners.
The two Pokémon greeted each other with warm welcomes, their friendship started on a high note as well.
Ava turned back to Elijah, "Well, are you ready?" She asked, talking about the Gym Battle ahead of them.
"Let's do it!" Elijah responded.
