As we left off, our heroes had stumbled upon Geosenge Town, home of rare and collectable stones. They participated in the Town's Mega Evolution Festival and Elijah even got the chance to battle a Mega Charizard X. By using everything he had, Elijah managed to beat the Mega Charizard and his trainer, Josh, and was handed a Mega Stone. As far as I can tell, this won't be the last time we see Josh. Count on it.
Ava awoke in complete darkness. She and Elijah arrived in Shalour City late last night. She checked her PokeWatch. It read: 6:00am. Today was the day of their Third Gym Battle against Korrina, the Gym Leader. Ava changed into her clothes and headed downstairs to the hotel's battlefield for some last minute training. She took the two Pokeballs from her bag which contained her two, half-awake, Pokemon: Fennekin and Eevee. "Today's the day of our next Gym Battle, everyone! We have to give it everything we have! Let's go for the win!" Ava chanted happily. He Pokemon rejoiced with her by jumping into the air.
An hour later, Elijah also awoke to see Ava's bed empty. "She's probably downstairs preparing for today's battle." Elijah also changed his currently clothes and headed downstairs to find Ava. Just as he thought, she was on the battlefield getting ready for her battle. Fennekin and Eevee were working hard on the tactics they had been preparing. Elijah sat down on a nearby bench being careful not to disturb them. He watched as they went over their moves one by one making sure there was a backup in case one of her strats failed during battle. They truly were a great team.
Finally, they decided to take a break and Elijah decided it was time to go greet them. "Good morning, everyone." He said warmly. Ava turned around a little surprised, "Oh hey. I didn't know you were there." "I was watching and thought it best not to disturb you all." Elijah replied. Ava looked closely at her two Pokemon, "I really hope all our training is gone to waste today." Elijah smiled, "You all have been training more than me. There's no doubt in my mind that you'll win." He said reassuringly. She smiled back, "I hope you're right."
The clock tower rang 8 times meaning the Gym would now be open. Our heroes rushed off to secure their spots for a battle with Korrina. Elijah began to open the set of double doors leading into the Gym. However, someone on the other side was faster and the door slammed right into Elijah sending him flying over a group of trees. Ava sighed as he crash landed in some bushes. "Oh my gosh! Is he okay?" The person asked very concerned. Ava sighed again, "He'll be fine. He's been through much worse. Trust me."
Elijah walked back over slowly rubbing his aching head. "I really sorry about that," The person said apologetically. "I haven't had a challenger in a short while. Guess I just got a little excited." Ava perked up, "You must be Korrina right? The Gym Leader?" Korrina nodded, "In the flesh. If you guys are ready, follow me." Inside was what you would expect from any normal Gym: punching bags, treadmills, and people starting their mornings with a quick workout. She lead our heroes to a section in the back of the Gym with a hand-print scanner on it. She held her hand up and the scanner did its thing. The wall blocking their way was moved to the side revealing a whole other section to the building.
The newly revealed room was a skatepark. Metal rods all over the place only accessible with roller skates. "You might need these." Korrina said holding 2 pairs of skates for our heroes to put on. "Good luck!" With that, she was off skating to her platform in the middle of the room. Our heroes had to skate to the end of the track to be able to battle her. Ava had skated on and off her entire life. Elijah on the other hand, has never roller skated before. As soon as Elijah tried to stand up, he faceplanted on to the hard, cold ground. Ava giggled and helped him up. He finally managed to stand on his own, but moving was a different story. When he tried to take his first step, he once again faceplanted. And once again, Ava helped him back up. This time she held on to him and they were able to get moving.
They skated up to the start of the course. "Ready?" Ava asked. "For what?" Elijah replied. "For this!" ava said pushing Elijah on to the metal rod to start the course. Elijah flew down a big drop screaming his head off. "AAHAhaHAHA" He yelled as he sailed down slopes, around loops, and up steep hills of metal rods. After a few times of his life flashing before his eyes, he reached the center platform and landed head first next to Ava's feet. He took his skates off and stood up, "How did you get over here before me?" He asked curiously. "I took the shortcut." She replied pointing to the straight line to the center. Elijah sighed and looked to Korrina who was meditating on the ground below them. She stood up with her now serious expression that was showing.
"Who's first?" She asked.
