As we left off, our heroes ventured into the mysterious Sea Spirit's Den hunting for the rumored Legendary Pokemon that dwells there. Well, not only did they find one, they found three. They discovered that the mysterious cave was home to Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres! Elijah fought valiantly against the fierce Moltres, Alex battled bravely against Zapdos, and Ava attempted to fend of Articuno. Sadly they all wound up defeated, but they left the cave with new insight into Pokemon battles. They now begin to trek through yet another forest on their way to Coumarine City. They better keep their eyes peeled! Who knows what they might miss if not. Enjoy :)

Our heroes gathered around their campfire recounting their stories from earlier today. About how each of them battled against a Legendary Bird. Their conversation was interrupted by a very odd looking man with binoculars falling out of a tree.

"Are you okay?" Elijah asked both confused and concerned.

The odd man looked up to see our heroes looking down at him. He quickly sat up and rubbed his back, "Yeah I'm okay." The man said laughing.

"What exactly were you doing up there?" Alex asked curiously.

"I'm a Bird Watcher. I look for rare species of Flying-Type Pokemon and record data on them." The man replied. "My name is Rodger by the way."

"Nice to meet you, Rodger. I'm Ava and these are my friends Alex and Elijah." Ava said introducing everyone. "Can we see what kind of birds you've seen before?" She asked curiously.

"Of course. Take a look at these." Rodger replied pulling out a notebook full of sketches and facts of all the birds he had seen.

Our heroes gathered around Rodger to take a glimpse at the notebook. They starred in awe as they saw extremely great drawings of Pidgey, Spearow, and Unfezant along with many, many other species. When they flipped to the page marked "Staraptor" Elijah reached his hand out and touched the picture.

"What's up?" Ava asked curiously.

"Oh it's just that.. That picture reminds me of my Staraptor back home. It was one of my partners back in the Sinnoh Region." Elijah replied.

Alex looked surprised by Elijah's comment, "Wait. I thought you had lived in Kalos your whole life."

Elijah laughed, "No. I live back in Kanto. I just like to travel to other regions after participating in a Region's Pokemon League. I've been to Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova as well."

Alex had learned something new about Elijah. He sure was an interesting kid.

"So what were you looking for before you fell down a while ago?" Ava asked Rodger.

"I was hot on the trail of a pack of Fletchling. After they hatch from their eggs, they travel in flocks around the Kalos Region. They mature and eventually become Talonflame. Then, they start the process again." Rodger replied.

"Can we help? I don't think either of us have been bird watching before." Alex asked.

Rodger agreed and they all began climbing up separate trees to search. They each sat on a separate branch of the same tree looking for any sign of movement about the leaves. Around five minutes later Alex pointed to something moving in the tree in front of it. Elijah wanted to see what it was so he quickly climbed down their tree and up the adjacent one. Sure enough inside the trunk of the tree was a little Fletchling all alone.

"Hey Rodger? Aren't there supposed to be more than one Fletchling here?" Elijah asked.

Rodger climbed up to take a look at what Elijah was talking about. Sure enough, there was only one in there. "This is one of the sad cases where the Fletchling didn't learn to fly fast enough, so it was left behind." Rodger replied.

Elijah starred at the sad and lonely Fletching huddled in the corner. Elijah snapped out of his mood and began talking to the Fletchling, "Hey little buddy. Can you still not fly?" He asked curiously.

The Fletchling shook its head no. Elijah offered his hand out for the Fletchling to climb on. The Pokemon hesitated for a second before climbing on to the trainer's hand. "We're going to teach you to fly!" Elijah said reassuringly.

While Alex, Ava, and Rodger slept peacefully, Elijah and Fletchling began practicing. Elijah went through the movements multiple times with Fletchling. It was time to finally attempt. He set Fletchling on a high branch and climbed down. "You just try to fly, just like we went over before. I'll be right here to catch you if you fall." Elijah called out. Fletching nodded and prepared itself. Then it lept.

Unfortunately, the Pokemon caught a huge gust of wind sending it flying in the wrong direction towards the ground. Elijah bolted in its direction and dove to catch it. Elijah sat up and checked to see if Fletchling had been hurt. It seemed to be okay. "Whelp. We got unlucky that time. Didn't think this would turn into baseball." He said laughing.

Ava was up watching Elijah and Fletchling practice. She admired how much work he put into something if he was determined enough. Something she would never be able to do.

"Let's try again!" Elijah said reassuringly.

He once again set Fletchling on a higher branch and climbed back down. "When you're ready!" He called. The Pokemon leaped once more flapping its wings ferociously. It didn't get into the air, but slowly floated down. Which was a big improvement from the previous attempt. Fletchling landed softly on Elijah's head. He once again climbed up, set Fletchling on a branch, and climbed back down.

"Alright. Third time's a charm!" Elijah called out. "When you're ready!"

Fletchling was just about to hop when a buzzing sound came from behind them. Elijah turned to see an angry Beedrill flying straight towards him. It was obvious someone didn't like his shouting. The Beedrill slammed its stingers hard into Elijah blowing him away. Ava watched it all happen and got up to help. Elijah motioned her to stop and pointed up at Fletchling in the tree.

"Jump!" He yelled to Fletchling.

It complied and flew towards the hovering Beedrill. It was flying! The Fletchling used Flame Charge slamming straight into the opposing Beedrill. The heat from that attack was enough to send the Beedrill fleeing from the scene. "Alright!" Elijah yelled happily.

Fletchling landed on his shoulder, "Incredible job, Fletcling!" Elijah said happily. The Pokemon smiled and nuzzled his neck and they both giggled. Elijah picked Fletchling up and set it on the ground, "Alright. Now you can go and be with your family!" Elijah said.

The Pokemon looked at him and then looked away from him and out into the wilderness. It turned back around to Elijah and shook its head. It wanted to stay with him. Elijah wasn't going to argue and pulled out and empty Pokeball. Fletching took its wing and tapped the white button on the front.

Fletchling was caught!

To Be Continued...

P.S: This was probably one of my favorite episodes to write. I came up with the idea just after finishing episode 33. I couldn't wait so I just had to start writing. Also, thanks for reading my work everyone. I really appreciate it :)
