As we left off, Alex and Ava had gotten themselves in a petty disagreement and decided to battle it out. Alex won the battle, but Ava’s Eevee had evolved into a Sylveon. The two made up and our heroes now continue on their way to Laverre City in hopes of winning their sixth Gym Badge. Enjoy 
“How much further is it.” Macy whined. She wasn’t quite used to traveling long distances on foot. She was used to being driven around in expensive cars because of her fame from Pokemon Showcases.
“A couple more days of walking.” Ava replied looking at the map on her Pokedex.
Macy gave another sigh.
Alex noticed an old, abandoned-looking playground just a bit ahead of them.
“Why don’t we stop to take a rest up at that playground. I’m kind of hungry.” Alex offered.
“Yeah that sounds good. I’m quite hungry myself.” Elijah replied.
The girls agreed and it was settled.
The playground didn’t have much in terms of entertainment. There was a round table with chairs built into it in the center, a slide, monkey bars, teeter totter, two swings, and a single basketball hoop with no net. It definitely wasn’t in good shape in the slightest.
They all sat around the table and Elijah began getting some of the food they still had out to prepare. Ava decided to go and sit on one of the swings while they waited for Elijah to finish cooking.
She sat silently thinking about her journey she had been on so far. They’d done so many things from Gym Battles, to catching Pokemon, to saving villages and cities, and so much more.
“Can you push me?” A voice said from behind her.
It was a little girl around the age of 6 or 7. She had a smile on her face and was anxiously awaiting an answer.
“Um, sure,” Ava said awkwardly. She didn’t know where the girl had came from. “Are your parents around?” She continued not wanting to cause trouble with them.
“Yeah. Our house is over there.” The girl said, pointing to a very nice looking house just a few yards away from them.
Ava nodded and proceeded to push the girl on the swing just as she had asked.
“Why didn’t you ever talk to me again? I was so lonely.” The little girl said sadly.
“What are you talking about?” Ava asked confusedly.
“You said you would come over soon. You never came back. I waited for such a long time.” The girl continued.
Ava starred at the girl strangely. What in the world was she talking about? She noticed an earring on the girl’s left ear. She then froze. She remembered.
Ava backed away from the girl not sure why she was here.
“Who are you?” Ava asked becoming more scared by the second.
“You know. I know you know. Your best friend.” The girl answered.
She was right and Ava knew it.
Long ago when Ava herself was the girl’s age, she would spend everyday with her best friend, Lily. They each had half of a set of earrings. Ava had the right one and Lily kept the left one. But when she came home from Lily’s house one day, her parents told her they were moving and Ava never got to tell Lily. Ava had forgotten about her after not seeing her for so long.
This little girl she was seeing right now was Lily.
“How are you here?” Ava asked.
“I told you. I’ve been waiting for this whole time for you to come over.” Lily replied.
Ava remembered. Her mother had told her that shortly after they moved away that Lily’s house had burned down and the entire family was killed in it. She was a ghost.
“I’m…. I’m so sorry…” Ava replied sincerely.
“YOU NEVER CAME BACK!” Lily screamed.
Ava began crying and collapsed on her knees. Lily’s voice grew louder. Everything went black.
She awoke on a soft, woolen cot with Elijah standing above her.
“You’re finally awake,” Elijah pointed out. “Do you feel okay?”
“I’m fine. What happened?” Ava asked with a blank memory.
“You fell off the swing and went unconscious.” Macy replied.
“I carried you back over here and tended to your wounds.” Elijah continued.
Ava thought back to Lily whom she saw earlier. She wasn’t anywhere around. She looked towards the house Lily had lived at. It was completely scarred and charred. It wasn’t nice and pretty anymore.
“I.. thought I saw someone…” Ava spoke out.
“I sure you did. Lots of people cross this route to get to Laverre City.” Macy replied.
“No like.. An old friend.” Ava continued.
“I read up on this playground when we got here to see what happened to it,” Alex stated.
The other three looked over to him.
“It’s said that people can sometimes see visions of bad memories of their past here. The playground eventually closed because the public feared it. It remains here because people are too scared to touch it.” He continued.
Ava looked back at the swing set and took the earring from her bag. She had kept it all these years. She looked down at the earring and whispered, “I’m sorry, Lily.”
“What was that?” Elijah asked unable to hear her.
“Hm? Oh nothing. Just talking to myself.” Ava replied.
“Alright, well enough of those strange stories. Let’s eat.” Elijah stated.
Our heroes sat down and enjoyed a meal together. Ava couldn’t keep her mind off the incident that had occurred.
She noticed movement from the right of her. It was Lily, once again.
“I forgive you.” Lily stated before disappearing for the last time.
None of these other seemed to notice her. Ava breathed a deep breath and smiled. She was happy once again.
