Private/Closed Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Duel Academy RP

Raikiri laid down silently in his dorm, turning over his newly bought card packs over and over again, as if he didn't want to open them. He came to his senses and opened both of them, only to jump out of bed and start frenzy-editing his deck. A few minutes later, he put his deck back in its holster, picked it up and left his dorm to find someone to duel.

Makura wanted to step out of his dorm and find something. "Man it's getting boring in this dorm. I need to find something to do." He said. So he took his signature deck and put it in his holster on his belt. He stepped out of his dorm hoping to find someone to make friends with or duel.

“...Yeah I know.”

Weasel walked in the forest around the duel academy, alone. He wasn’t filling any Kid Caches apparently. He was taking his time pacing about, having a conversation with something or someone that wasn’t visible.

“Scaling up? Further? We shouldn’t go so fast you know.”

He tapped his foot, listening to the seemingly invisible entity. He stroked his chin, as if he was hearing a proposition.

“Hmmm...I would definitely have to climb the ranks more, from teacher’s pet to something more...believing.”

Weasel got an evil snicker on his face, laughing as a plan began to come together in his mind. A plan that was fool proof. Would need to pull heavy strings in order for it to be pulled off, but it would be the most ambitious play he’s ever attempted...

........

“Principal!”

Like a ninja, Tobias frontflipped in from the window, landing on a knee. Staying in this position, Tobias closed his eyes.

“I have become aware of the base of operations of our foes. They are stationed nearby in a cave opening. Something must be done, as I’m sure you are aware...”

Looking up to the principle now, Tobias continued.

“What course of action shall be taken to ensure the safety of this school and it’s inhabitants?”

The principal was finishing up his work for the day when a student came up to him and knelt in a samurai position, speaking of an enemy base? He didn't catch very much. "Slow down there, young man. A base of operations? I don't mean to be rude, but you were specifically told not to go beyond certain boundaries." He thought for a few moments before speaking again. "Very well. If we send several members of the security staff and indeed find something, we will overlook your violation of the rules this once."
-----------
"I can't really go out in public and find something to do, else I'll just get crushed by a Slifer the Skydragon again." Raikiri took a few more steps and tried to reimagine his deck in a duel before slowing down. "Right, I can't go past boundaries, shouldn't be that difficult to turn around in crutches..." he said as he tried to turn around and fell flat.
"GodDAMNit! CURSE these STUPID CRUTCHES! I CAN'T do SHIT with these!"

“I mean no disrespect when I say this principle, but I disobeyed school regulations because the school can no longer guarantee our safety.”

Looking directly into the principal’s eyes with his Amber ones, the archaeologist stood up, crossIng his arms.

“The staff of the school proved obsolete when faced with the forces that assaulted us two days ago. I succeeded along with an ally in freeing several students held captive in the icy grip of these enemies.” Tobias explained. “Even now, I’ve waited two days for something to be done, and nothing. Seeing students turn on one another, brutalizing and assaulting, it was clear to me that morale was at a all time low. Something needed to be done principle. If not by you, then by me. If you see that as a means of punishment, then one must only need to look at the log in one’s own eye...”

The principal waited patiently for the student to finish. "You... have quite the 'guts' questioning school authority like this. We are doing this for your own safety, and while it might not be ensured, we have no way of knowing if your findings are the truth or not, rather, as I've said, members of the security staff will investigate. Now child, it is for your own safety that you let authority handle the rest. As for this other talk... we've been doing everything we can. I understand it is not the best. But it has kept you safe ever since the attack. So I advise you, from now on, do not dawdle in places like this where we have no knowledge of. Good day to you."

‘We are doing this for your own safety, while it might not be ensured...’

What school does not guarantee and the safety of their own students? The school has been doing nothing, what could they be doing that was trying their best to make the school environment safe. These words and the blatant ignorance he was hearing set a fire within Tobias. He turned his back to the principle, facing the door.

“I do not enjoy playing the hero, principle. No one should have to under this school’s protection. But if you cannot ensure our safety...then what other choice do I have?”

That’s when Tobias made his leave, exiting the room through the door across from the principle, leaving the man alone in his office.

"The kid's got his ways, that's all I know. I bet if he really wanted to, he could make it to Obelisk Blue. Then again, in Slifer Red no one pays attention to you. I'm not gonna tell him what to do though, I am in no position to tell people what to do with their lives. All that I know is that Weasel's got more depth than one might think. And don't try to get your hopes up Bix, you don't know if there even will be any food." Although Bob seemed to be pretty relaxed about the whole situation, he was deeply unnerved by how desperate Bix must've been to steal food from Obelisk Blue. Wasn't the school supposed to take care of the students no matter their dorm? This sounded like child abuse to him, seems he was going to have to sneak out food himself if this kept going.

--------------

"Only three support cards? That's not a lot, surely there are more out there." Willow was surprised by the utter lack of support for the Kaiju, finding it really hard to grasp since she had a lot of support for her Gladiator Beasts. "The support spell and trap cards are based on their equipment and tactics yeah, though I have a hard time figuring out what Gladiator Naumachia is." She showed a trap card with a Gladiator Beast on a float or something leading a charge. "There are also monster supports like Test Tiger, but that's a whole other can of worms." Flashing a grin, the Slifer Red watched Jira pick out some card packs and decided to follow his example. There was nothing to lose, no?

Tuesday, October 13, 20XX
Raikiri woke up from his more common body aches early on. Since presumably no one was up this early, he jumped out of bed and quickly sat down at his desk, ready to edit his deck once more. I'll hit the upper limit. I'm going to run 60 cards with this deck for the maximum firepower!

-------

She was called a madman for this, but Nakada was always up early. She didn't know why either, but it was a regular thing for her to wake up and see the sun rise as part of her daily routine. However, when she remembered there was no school, she left her dorm with the utmost haste, taking a simple walk to ease her mind.

(OOC: GX era didn't have a card limit, I believe that was enforced in 2009. I just went with what I thought was fair, don't want a character with a deck the length of a dresser drawer.)

"What a shame...I was hoping to find someone to encounter. Ah well...maybe I'll head to the forest and hopefully find someone cause this is getting ridiculously boring at this academy." he said. So he headed to the forest to explore. "Huh...so this is the forest. It's quite peaceful here. Maybe I can find someone or something to do. You know what, I'll check my deck just in case of something happens and I need it." He took his deck out of his holster and checked it. "Looks like everything and everyone is in order. I never thought being here would be so boring." He said while sitting on under a tree from the entrance of the forest.

Tobias had awoken before the others in his class, sitting atop a tree outside, carefully watching to see if any staff would take action upon the foreign invaders. Any sign, and inkling of action would be enough to satiate him for now. But he hadn’t seen or heard a thing. The principle should be one for his word. If he is not...then drastic action must be taken.

......

Weasel the Kid hadn’t returned to the slifer red dorms that night. Bix and Braxer has begun to look worried. He hasn’t gone off and disappeared on them or anything. They had tried to keep calm, but there was a seed of doubt in them now. It couldn’t take this long to make a cache, could it?

“I dunno about this, I got a weird feelin’.” Braxer muttered.

“Yeah, yeah! He would tell us if he was gonna plan somethin...right?”

The principal did indeed send authorities to where the believed "enemy camp" was, and although it was almost obvious that there was a base here (burns in the ground from powerful duels and cards scattered throughout [was that Raikiri's Neo Flamvell Hedgehog I just saw?]), there seemed to be no one here. Everyone was gone. At the academy office again, the principal was informed that all of the "thugs" had left the island and their whereabouts were unknown. "Alright then, before I declare the school out of lockdown, I need to do one thing. Someone man the intercom and call Tobias Kodai down to the office."

Shen: King of Digimon

Previously Shen: King of the Mist
“Tobias Kodai, report to the principle’s office. Repeat: Tobias Kodai, report to the principle’s office.”

The intercom sounded, signaling for the archaeologist to make an appearance. He pulled his scarf up over his mouth in the manner he normally is seen in, electing to remain neutral about this calling.

Minutes later, Tobias walked into the office. His demeanor was calm and collected, open it prepared for what would come out of the principal’s mouth.

“You have summoned me here, principal. Might I ask the reasoning behind my call?”

The principal was surprised how quickly the boy came up to the office but began talking nonetheless. "Mr. Kodai, we have indeed searched the area in what has seemed to be the thugs' hideout, although we found a base, we found that it was deserted. My apologies for doubting you before, but this is the only major piece of knowledge that we have. I will send along this information to government officials privately. As such, the school will be reopening, but with major security changes and the curfew remains the same." He paused for a few seconds before continuing. "All students have exactly one hour before homeroom, and there, everything else will be explained. Thank you for your time, Mr. Kodai," he said, standing up and sitting down again at the intercom to make the announcement.

“Those that find themselves in my company notice that I am an ill liar.” Tobias nodded his head to finding of the base. “But the fact that their base is abandoned does not mean that we should remain idle. Have any of your analysts discovered any information from the hideout, such as names, places, perhaps a time stamp of their departure? We can cross reference that to the company who manufactured these motorcycles, they must have had a buyer that had selected this many vehicles to purchase.”

It didn’t seem to be Tobias’s first time doing an investigation, in fact it appeared the exact opposite. Pulling out Jira’s improvised weapon, which was a motorcycle handlebar, he placed it on the desk.

“Every manufacturer has a unique way of stamping their products. Weather it be how they fuse or coat the metal, to the special bolts and screws inside of the design. Even if these invaders had removed all sign of the manufacturer on the bikes themselves, these specific traces are impossible to erase.”

Jira had been walking to the Duel Academy when he had heard the first announcement calling Tobias to the office. At first the Slifer Red had brushed it off. There were a ton of students at Duel Academy, surely more than one of them were called Tobias. But as he walked, the thought kept in the back of his head. A lot of students, and probably a few staff, had no doubt seen Tobias running around with his short sword. And Tobias had done quite a lot to fight against the raiders. But surely they wouldn't punish him for having his sword now... Right? With a growing feeling of anxiety and nervousness in his stomach, Jira began to head in the direction of the principal's office. It didn't take him too long, but the doors were closed. So Jira decided to wait, leaning against the wall and waiting for whoever was next to walk out of the office.

Shen: King of Digimon

“Definitely within twelve hours, as I’ve perosnally seen them at the scene.” Tobias stroked his chin. “Hmm, seems like we will have to rely on the manufacturer then. My suggestion would be find one that correlates with the unique design of the motorcycles.”

A solution had to be made somewhere, this certainly shouldn’t be the end to this investigation. There were places to take it, the just needed to get their hands dirty.

“Might I ask if you intend to do so?”

"I do indeed. I personally know a car and motorcycle specialist that can determine a model within twenty minutes of looking at it. I can send the pictures of tire tracks to him, saying it's for a government cause. However, I cannot ensure that the picture gets to him within a few hours, since he needs to see it privately. If it's alright with you, it will take around twenty-four hours to get there."

Shen: King of Digimon

Previously Shen: King of the Mist
“Hmm, is that so? Seems like we have a the groundwork’s for a proper
Investigation.” Tobias agreed, turning toward the door. “If you have it from here, then I will leave you and your competent team to the task. Good day, Principal.”

He opened the door, walking out of it whilst he was lost in his thoughts. Hopefully now that they have their sights set in the right place they will continue down this train of thought. Perhaps finding the main on that motorcycle via the fingerprints on the handlebars...

That’s when he spotted Jira, directly outside of the office, seemingly waiting for him to leave. This surprised the archaeologist.

“Oh? You are here?” Tobias half asked. “There isn’t a need to worry, a punishment isn’t needed for the deeds I have done. We were simply discussing solutions.”

Jira quickly pushed himself off the wall once Tobias walked out. Tobias was as hard to read as he normally was, but it seemed like he was deep in thought about something. But before Jira could say anything, the Ra Yellow had already noticed Jira and had spoken up. Jira relaxed as Tobias explained his situation, and offered his Duel Buddy a smile.
"That's good to hear. I couldn't help but to feel a little worried when I heard your name over the P.A." Jira said, beginning to walk alongside Tobias. He thought for a moment on what Tobias had just said, and his smile turned to a look of confusion. "What do you mean, solutions? Solutions for what?"

Shen: King of Digimon

Previously Shen: King of the Mist
“Solutions to our common threat: the hostile invaders that sought to discord in this school.” Tobias answered his duel buddy. “They aren’t going to rest, and neither shall we. With how low morale has been decreasing it was necessary to provide some sort of relief.”

Tobias adjusted his scarf, crossing his arms. It seemed he really wasn’t taking kindly to playing the hero. He never wanted to be in the limelight, made it much harder to accomplish what he wanted in life. He had just hoped that this wasn’t a common occurrence at this school...

As Makura was sitting under the tree, he overheard the intercom telling the students that classes begin in one hour. "Classes begin in one hour...guess I should get to class before I get into any trouble. Though I would like to continue checking my cards..." he thought to himself. He got up and walked into the academy and headed straight for the classroom.

Once everyone was settled into class a while later, the teacher began to speak. "First of all, I'm sure you're all aware of the sudden change in the schedule, as we are clear to begin classes once more. Second, on behalf of Friday's exams ending pretty badly, this Friday there will be a Tag Duel tournament hosted in the gym. Sign up sheets are in every dorm's cafeteria, you don't have to join if you don't want to, but it is very much encouraged. More info will be shared later."

When Makura heard the teacher talk about a tag duel, it caught his interest. "A tag duel, huh. Sounds fun. But since it's a tag duel who am I gonna find as a partner or who would want me as a partner?" he thought to himself. "Though they sure did encourage me to sign up. But I shouldn't worry about it now. I'll worry about it later."

“A tag battle? but without Weasel...”

Bix and Braxer looked at each other. They were used to tag battling with weasel, never each other, despite the fact that they knew each other in the group for a while. Braxer cleared his throat, stiffening his posture.

“Well, just cause he ain’t around doesn’t mean we can’t duel, right?”

“Yeah...yeah!”

“We gotta get good, fast. We might not be great, but together we’d make the hooligan’s proud.”

“Oooh I like the sound of that!”

Fist bumping each other, they turned to Bob, who sat nearby them.

“Who are you going with huh? Huh?” Bix pestered. “A good duelist? A cute duelist? A duelists with lotsa snacks??”

......

“Hm...so be it.”

Tobias wasn’t enthusiastic about tag battles. He didn’t find himself trusting of many people to have his back. All but one that is... His duel buddy, Jira came to mind. One that he analyzed his style and fought with in a rage battle before. Yes...yes that would do fine.

"Tag duels. Something new," Raikiri mumbled to himself. "Elana's probably going to bail, so who can I trust?", he kept asking himself for the rest of the class period.
---------
Nakada ran after a kid she knew shortly after the period ended. "Hey, you use /Assault Mode cards, right? Mind teaming up with me?"

(OOC: I mean for Nakada to have a Obelisk NPC as her teammate)

Tag duels, an interesting change of pace for sure. Willow immediately began thinking about a partner, but got stuck after Jira and Noah. Jira lacked support cards and had a field spell just like her, so they probably would just get in each others way whilst Noah had very powerful decks. She could ask him, but wouldn't that be seen as possibly leeching off of him? It would be like teaming with a Ra Yellow, it just wouldn't give her a proper showing of her skill. "This might be more difficult than I imagined." The Slifer Red thought out loud as she tried to think of others to duel with, maybe that boy she saw during the invasion with a sword? There could be a risk of shanking though.

----------

Bob propped his feet up on a nearby table as he leaned back in his chair, arms crossed behind his head. "I have no clue. A capable duelist would be a good teammate, but our decks need to work together. A deck relying on the field spell Umi would hamper my machines and so does the combo of DNA Surgery and Acid Rain. A cute duelist doesn't add any value except potentially distracting the opponent and how are you gonna eat snacks during a duel, where both hands are used? I can act all high and mighty about it, but I have no clue who I can side with. Maybe I just don't join if I can't find anyone, who knows?"

Shen: King of Digimon

Previously Shen: King of the Mist
“Hey! A cute duelist has other perks aside actually dueling ya know...”

Bix got red in the face and began to chuckle pervertedly. Braxer put his hands on his hips, sighing at His partner’s thought process, choosing to ignore it and focus on Bob.

“Well, not like there’s many options here. Heck, there’s guys that only have monsters in there deck...totals noobs. But hey, if your lucky, you could side with-“

“-Me!”

Suddenly, right before the group, Weasel walked in, dressed in his vibrant reds and blacks. His carried himself differently, more confidently than before.

“W-Weasel?!” The two stammered out. “We thought you were-“

“Dead? No. Captured? Not yet...” he sneered at the thought. “I will fill you in with the details of me master plan later. But for now I can humor our newbie by being his crutch in this tag duel. After all this, I can tell ya about something awful, revolting, hideously astoundingly evil!”

He had a devilish grin on his face, something that wasn’t just thinking of a minor prank or inconvenience. It seemed like something more real...far more real.

"Contain your hormones Bix. This is a duelling tournament, not a dating show." Bob dismissed Bix' perverted implications when Weasel arrived. Raising an eyelid, he looked at Weasel with a bit of surprise in his gaze. "You? I thought you didn't care about the tag team duels, since you only just now showed your face." Letting out a sigh, the Ra Yellow got up. "Sure, why the hell not? You get your satisfaction and I get more practice, even if I don't appreciate being called a newbie. What's your plan though? Dressing up as monsters and playing Russian Roulette with a fake gun that has small fireworks in it to make noise? Or are you planning on poisoning the whole staff?" Getting up out of his chair, Bob raised an eyebrow at Weasel's choice of words. He wasn't always this dramatic, was he?

"Well...if since anyone isn't gonna become my partner, I might as well just forget about the tag team duel just spectate it...oh well...I hardly talked to anyone in this school, so maybe that's why I haven't been able to find anyone to become my partner." Makura said to himself. He took a look at his deck sadly. "It's a shame...I was really hoping you guys would be able to help us possibly win this tag team duel and make a possible friend. Well...maybe next time."

Yunu was watching how everyone else reacted, seeing who could be a possible teammate.He decided not to actually compete with anyone at all.He wanted to duel someone alone, not in a pair. He then looked up at the teacher for the days class.

Shen: King of Digimon

Previously Shen: King of the Mist
“Me? Care?” Weasel scoffed. “I tell ya, I care more about what that mystery smell comin’ from the Silfer dorms is more than these Tag Duels. BUT! I need this public appearance before my plan comes to fruition...”

Weasel blinked at the suggestion that he would be doing some run of the mill prank like using poison, or firework guns. He snickered and shook his head.

“Nothing so amateurish. This next one is gonna be the biggest one yet. The Goliath of pranks! And it requires a lot of set up. You see, I need this exposure from this tag battle stunt in order to get there. No hard feelings Bobblehead, but i’m here for show.”

He winked at bob with his tounge out, having no intention of sweeping in to be a good friend. All of this was wrapped behind an alterior motive. One that he wasn’t disclosing, not even to Braxer or Bix.

Elana set down her card trunk as she finished a deck. This should do for the Tag Duel tournament, she thought as she laid down on her bed and began brainstorming combos. She began to doze off, but was awakened by two slifer reds dueling eachother.
"I activate De-Spell to negate your spell card!"
"Really? Well I activate De-Spell to despell your despell!"
"Think so? I activate De-Spell to despell your despell that's despelling my despell!"
She figured that she may as well take a walk to find something to do.

Jira leaned back in his seat as the teacher announced a tournament. A tag-team tournament, of all things. That would be an interesting thing to do. Sure, he probably wouldn't get too far. But it certainly sounded fun. But who would team up with him? Jira's first thought was Tobias. Their tag-team duel against the raiders had started off okay... But perhaps if they actually prepared, they might be able to work well together. But what about a backup plan? If Tobias said no, which was entirely possible, then perhaps Willow would be willing to partner up with him. That is, if she hadn't already partnered up with Noah. The class let out, and Jira began to walk through the halls keeping an eye out for Tobias.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Meanwhile, Tracy was feeling rather apprehensive. The tag-duel tournament sounded like a fun change of pace, and a good way to finally get a solid idea on where she stood dueling-wise in the school. But the problem would be finding someone to duel with as a partner. Tracy hadn't really had the chance to make many friends yet. There was Dahlia, and there was Elizabeth. But both of them were Obelisk Blues, and Tracy didn't want to end up holding them back. Raikiri seemed nice enough, perhaps he would partner up with her if she asked him. The Ra Yellow didn't really know much about Flamvells, but perhaps they would work together well with her Different Dimension monsters? Hopefully, because Tracy didn't really know who to ask if that didn't work.
"So you have a big plan that most likely involves a stink bomb of some description and won't tell us about it, sounds reasonable. Not that I could care less, it is the Slifer Red dorm after all. As for the tournament, I've got a combo in my deck for anyone who decides to boost their monster to insane heights. Have them get a taste of their own medicine if ya know what I mean. Braxter, Bix, you still got those double-sided coins? Switch them up with regular ones every once in a while to avoid suspicion. Getting heads all the time will get suspicious, even with only one toss per match. If you get caught, you'll probably end up getting expelled or disqualified." Bob told the duo, foreseeing them getting cocky and topdecking to get Twin-Barrel Dragon in their first hand.
---------
Willow walked through the halls of the school, unsure what to do. She only knew a handful of people, and she wasn't the only one looking for a partner. Noah was probably getting hounded after by anyone who saw him play, Jira was friends with that Ra Yellow Tobias and his sword and she really had no big interactions with anyone from the other dorms. The biggest interaction would have to be either the raid or the first day of the year, but she'd probably hold back Ra Yellow's and no Obelisk Blue in their right mind would side with a Slifer Red. She was desperate. "Urgh, this should not be as hard as it is!" She cried out in frustration.
Tracy walked around the school, looking to different groups to people and feeling at a bit of a loss. Just when she was starting to think that it would be a better idea to just not join the tournament, she saw a familiar face. The blonde hair of Raikiri. He was looking a lot better now, no longer in his crutches. Shoring up her bravery, Tracy took a deep breath before approaching the fellow Ra Yellow.
"Um... Hello, Raikiri. I'm glad to see that you're looking better." Tracy said, giving Raikiri a small wave. "What do you think about the tournament coming up yet?"
