He began his journey in his home region of Sinnoh and did well in his gym challenge, even making it to the top 8 in the Lily of the Valley Conference. After that he journeyed to Alola for both vacation and training. He desired to learn a skill that would allow him to defeat Acacia and when he heard about Z moves he figured that would be the key to his victory. Unfortunately, he was never able to defeat his cousin in a traditional battle, but he did discover that he had a special talent for double battles. Since defeating Acacia in a 2v2 he has been devoting his time training to become a double battle master.

When he was injured at 24 he was discharged and decided to take up Pokémon training since he could no longer serve. He completed the Unova gym challenge and recently made it to the quarter finals of the Vertress Conference. Cassius is a big fan of Unova’s signature triple battles and is widely considered one of the best in the region, and the world, at them.
Name: Acacia Song (Uh-Kay-Shuh)
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Appearance: Acacia is about 5’11 in height, he is a bit on the skinnier side but still has well toned muscle. He has dark messy brown hair and matching bushy eyebrows. His is half asian, giving him tanned skin and slightly squinted dark brown eyes.
Outfit: Acacia refuses to dress in his team uniform, preferring the clothes he journeyed in, though they naturally fit the color scheme well. He wears a navy hat with a gray area in the front over his dark messy brown hair. He has a red zip-up hoodie with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows and a gray hood over a long sleeve plain white undershirt. Acacia also wears navy blue jeans, black trainer gloves, and red sneakers.
Personality: Acacia’s trademark trait is his perseverance. Though he is a talented Pokémon trainer, he is never disheartened from a loss or misfortune and turns it into motivation to improve. Growing up in a family that largely valued intelligence formed him into quite a smart person; however, he never really cared for being smart. While his brains may be viewed by the public as his best attribute that made him destined to become a great trainer, the reality is that he wholeheartedly cares for his Pokémon and just wants to be their friend. This quality has motivated his Pokémon to fight their absolute hardest for him, that paired with his proficiency in strategizing, quick thinking, and adaptability has made him an extremely formidable opponent. However, Acacia does suffer from depression, though he hides it well. It was brought on from the large scale success of his older siblings in battling and even though he is accomplished, he feels like he has never been able to live up to expectations.

Acacia was born in Slateport City to two successful engineers. He and his two older siblings all shared a passion for Pokémon training and were competitive with each other from a young age. His sister Willow and brother Cypress easily befriended Pokémon when they were little, but Acacia was young and experienced a lot of difficulty trying to catch one. He feel behind Willow with her Eevee and Cypress with his Cubone in terms of Pokémon training.

Years later, after both older siblings had begun their journeys, a ship docked in Slateport, containing the renowned scientist Blaine from Kanto who had come to Hoenn in order to study volcanic patterns. Acacia’s parents were friends with the man, knowing each other through work and had him over for dinner. Acacia quickly became infatuated with the man, especially his Arcanine, and followed Blaine closely for the entire duration of his trip.

When it was time for Blaine to leave Acacia became extremely saddened and begged him not to go. Blaine suggested the young boy simply come with him and study as an apprentice. After hours of pleading combined with some convincing from Blaine, his parents reluctantly agreed. Acacia was only 10 when he left to go live with Blaine.

After two years of living on Cinnabar Island, Acacia had learned a lot from Blaine, and had established a good relationship with a Growlithe Blaine had specially bred and trained with the Growlithe to practice his battling abilities. For his twelfth birthday Blaine provided Acacia with a boat ticket to Pallet Town, telling him it was the best place to start his journey, along with his own PokéNav Plus so he could keep in touch.

Acacia arrived in Pallet and instantly bonded with the Squirtle in the Professor’s lab, much to Blaine’s dismay that he opted not to take the fire type. Together they traveled, not facing too much difficulty in their gym challenges. Surge was the first real adversity the duo faced, but luckily they prevailed when Squirtle evolved and was able to barley defeat Raichu.

Acacia had his first gym battle loss in Celadon and was very upset about it, calling Blaine to tell him about it. After giving the young trainer some motivational advice he sent Acacia the growlithe he had bonded with, providing him with a favorable matchup against the grass type gym that allowed him to emerge victorious. After that he built up a Pokémon team, including a lonely ghastly from lavender town and a dratini he won from the game corner, and battled his way through the kanto gyms, qualifying for the Indigo Plateau Conference. Acacia battled well in the tournament but lost to his older brother, Cypress, finishing in the top 8, when his Dragonair was defeated by Cypress’s Flygon.

After suffering a crushing defeat at the hands of his older brother, Acacia vowed to become stronger and set out to the Kalos region to train. He had completed the gym challenge and placed in the top 4 in the Lumiouse Conference, losing to a trainer with a mega Ampharos. Acacia then continued to train and had grown fond of the battle chateau and spent much of his time there training, eventually earning the prestigious rank of duke. One day another duke came in who claimed to be a water type master. It was Siebold, the Kalos elite four member and water type master. He had heard stories of the power of mega evolution, but was only now witnessing it to its power first hand. Acacia watched in awe as Siebold and his mega blastoise defeated challengers in an almost effortless fashion.

After Siebold was finished battling, Acacia ran up to him and begged Siebold to teach him the secrets of mega evolution. Siebold agreed, but said Acacia would only be worthy of mega evolution if he and his blastoise could defeat him without the aid of mega evolution. Acacia accepted the terms and the two sent out their blastoises to engage in battle. It was a long and hard fought battle, but it primarily consisted of Acacia defending Siebold’s attacks, never taking the opportunity to gain the offensive. Eventually Acacia’s blastoise fell and he was greatly saddened. Siebold confronted the young trainer and explained that Blastoise was an extremely well trained Pokémon and the loss was Acacia’s fault rather than a difference in Pokémon strength. The water type master instructed Acacia to strengthen himself as a trainer and return in a year for a rematch.

Motivated to become stronger, Acacia sought out traveled to the Hoenn region where he completed the gym challenge and rounded out his Pokémon team. He then entered in the Ever Grande conference, this time losing to his sister in the semi finals. After their battle, Willow congratulated her brother on a well fought battle and offered him a Shinx egg as well as an invitation to the battle resort. Acacia gratefully accepted both proceeded to train at the battle resort for the remainder of the year. Upon returning to Kalos to battle Siebold, he lost again but this time in a much closer battle. Siebold again told him that he must become a stronger trainer and told him to return in another year.

Acacia traveled to Unova, where he finished forming his final team, but did not participate in the Unova league, instead he opted to compete frequently in the Pokémon World Tournaments held in Driftveil City. Acacia did well in those tournaments, winning a large amount of them and earned the nickname “The Innovator” for his ability to constantly improve on his own strategies to adapt in battle. His accomplishments at such a young age gained the attention of many, including the former champion Alder. Alder sent Acacia a letter, telling him to meet him at Pledge Grove where they would battle. Acacia accepted and battled the trainer but was swiftly defeated. Alder liked the trainers persistent spirit and offered that he stay with him a year and train. Acacia quickly accepted and informed Siebold that he would need to wait another year for a rematch. Alder put Acacia and his Pokémon through grueling training everyday and at the end of each week they would have a full battle. Progress was difficult but by the end of the year the battles were evenly matched, with it not being a surprise for Acacia to win.

Acacia thanked Alder for all he had done and returned to Kalos for his rematch against Siebold. It was an intense battle between the two blastoises that lasted 5 hours, with neither willing to give an inch. Both Pokémon were extremely exhausted and about to pass out when Acacia suddenly returned his blastoise to his pokeball, claiming it had already been through enough and mega evolution was not worth severely damaging his friend. Siebold was impressed that he would forfeit the match and such power out of love for his Pokémon and deemed Acacia worthy of the power of mega evolution, handing him a key stone necklace and giving blastoise a metal bracelet containing a blastoisite. Acacia gratefully accepted and went on his way.

Acacia competed in the Indigo Plateau Conference once more, defeating both of his siblings on the way, and narrowly winning the finals with the power of mega evolution on his side. Since then Acacia has returned to Unova where he frequently trains with Alder and competes in Pokémon World Tournaments.

So one of my characters I want to include, but they aren't born in the main core regions. They are born in the side regions (Oblivia), but their home base is primarily in Kanto for 27 years. I also have another character, but she's odd as well as she was living in Kalos for the first 5 years of her life, but then lived in Alola for the rest of her years up until she was 35, where she is a nomad. By having them being born, I'm assuming my second character would be on the Kalos team, while my first character will be.... Kanto?

Correct! Like Acacia spent most of his time in Kanto and Unova but is still competing for Hoenn. As for the other, since Oblivia was not included they can represent the region they reside in.

Ah, cool, gotcha :3 I shall make my 2 characters then :3 and I'll make sure their Pokemon only have 12 moves XD

Question is, do we ask who is going to be the "leader" of the team or do we just sign up for that role and hope our characters are actually able to join due to their accomplishments and being capable enough to do the full battle?

So the captain will be whoever does the full team solo battle, basically if you want to fill that role there is more pressure to write a better backstory to make them qualified, as it is basically saying they are the best trainer from that region. (Thus the reason Acacia’s backstory is waaaaay longer than Cassius’s).

Please remember you can have up to 5 characters. This is a very ambitious rp and we’re going to need a lot of commitment to make things work. I am currently trying to think of more characters I could add.

Name: Angelia "Angel" Shayton
Age: 35
Gender: Female
Appearance: She is 5'04" (162.5 cm) and she weighs 120 lbs (54.4 kg). She has pitch-black, mid-back hair with a white streak she bleached on her bangs. She has pitch-black eyes, and her skin is a little pale. She has dark circles from not sleeping very well. Her skin has a rare pigment disorder, which causes her cells/proteins/whatever in charge of the color of her skin to die, making her seem paler than what she really is. If her pigments didn't have this disorder, she'll be as dark as the natives from Alola. She is also quite fit, having a toned body due to her hobby, but still underweight and skinny.
Outfit: She wears a black, poofy dress, with poofy shoulders and white frills at the end of the shoulder-length cuffs and the bottom of the dress. Her dress has a bit of a high collar. She wears transparent, black tights and has a purse with little crystals all over the seams and the ends of the zippers. Her shoes are black and look like they hurt a little, but she doesn't show that it hurts her or anything. Her shoes also have tap dancing soles nailed to them. She has a Z-Ring on her left wrist. She sometimes either has a Darkinium-Z or a Fairium-Z in the slot.

She also has dance clothes and they are skin tight. She has a black spandex suit that covers the entire length of her arms, legs, and her torso, save for some designer holes that show off her belly button and her shoulders. From her left shoulder down to her right side is a wave of sparkles, similar to something seen on ice skaters.
Personality: Even though she is 35 years old, her mental age is closer aligned with the people who are around 21-25 and sometimes even younger. She is very immature and very naive, but becomes a savage during battle. She is very kind, selfless and caring to all who meet her, which can become quite bad for her when they begin to use her sweetness for their own selfish needs. She is always tired, but tries not to show this, but her body language shows. She slouches when sitting, and yawns a lot. Those dark circles under her eyes are from a lack of sleep due to chronic insomnia, which causes her to hallucinate slightly when awake, have trouble staying awake, be delirious at times throughout the day and not be able to remember what happens sometimes, and her Pokemon have begun training themselves because she always sleeps when she is trying to train them herself. Since her Pokemon are already very able in battle, they can battle when Angel is too busy sleeping standing up. Because of her tired state, she can be quite clumsy.

Her mentality will be explained: There was a time in her life when something bad happened to her, which caused her slow development of her behavior. The reason why she took classes in psychology was to understand why she was so immature and what trauma could have done this to her.

Her deliriousness can cause her to become quite scary when someone makes her angry. Since her mentality is strained, she could instantly snap and she would be as cruel as the Dark-Types she is fond of. She hates this side of her, so she keeps it locked away, even going as far as making herself fall asleep during an angering confrontation.

He doesn't get more powerful or more accurate, he just gets more brutal.

Companion Pokémon: Félin, the male Incineroar; Quaju, the male Greninja; Oratora, the female Primarina; and Mimi, the female Mimikyu
Backstory: When Angel was young, she was known as the one of the Fairy Tale girls, as she lived in Laverre City, wore a heavy, pink kimono, and had a charming, yet mysterious personality and loved Fairy-Types. Her mother would teach her how to bake and make pastes, salves, and soups that reinvigorate someone who is sick or injured. She was always seen as odd, especially when she made friends with a mute boy in the city. When she got word that they were leaving for Alola when she was 7, she gave the mute boy a blue bandanna to remember her by. Saddened by her departure, the mute boy gave her one last hug as a goodbye. When Angel arrived in Alola, her albino mother found a Zorua with a blue bandanna around his wrist in the bathroom, having left a box he stowed away in. Angel, connecting the dots that the mute boy was actually a Zorua, accepted him as a member of her team and nurtured him back to health. Since then, they have always been close.

After moving, she became more levelheaded, and spent more time with her Zorua and the local Dark-Types around Hau-oli City. She then began her adventure at the age of 10 and received her first starter from Hala: Litten. She also received a Pokemon Egg from her father, which hatched into a Togepi later in her adventure on Melemele Island. She then found a Popplio off the shore of Melemele Sea getting hurt from the Mareanie trying to bully the poor thing. Using her Zorua, she saved the Popplio and she went with her on her team and nursed her back to health. Later on Ula'Ula Island, she captured a Mimikyu after her Zorua evolved into a Zoroark, and her Togepi, Popplio, and Litten evolved twice into Togekiss, Primarina, and Incineroar, respectively. Wanting a start in another region and almost getting bored with the Island Challenge, she went to Kalos after abandoning her stamp collecting at Poni Island and found Professor Sycamore struggling with a Froakie. She captured him after helping Sycamore calm the frog Pokemon down with a battle and he told her she could keep him. After catching the Froakie, he was very defiant and didn't want to do anything Angel said at first. It took them a good long year to fully understand each other and for Froakie to respect and appreciate Angel. Now, they are pretty close, with Froakie, now a Greninja, acting distant sometimes, but he really cares for his teammates and his trainer, whether it shows or not. She took college courses while she was out and about teaching people about Dark- and Fairy-Type Pokemon and Z-Moves, as well as dance and yoga to help pay for her psychology and medicine classes, while also competing in the Kalos gym challenge and obtaining all 8 badges.

She is now wanting to compete in tournaments to see how much she has to grow in terms of teaching her Pokemon other moves and skills. She incorporates her dance into her battles and has participated in many tournaments around the world. She never won a single one, but she had gotten close, ranging from top 8 to being in the semi-finals with her team.
Name: Sarah Ilia
Age: 28
Gender: Female
Appearance: She has super pale skin and is about 5'06" (167.6 cm) and weighs 120 lbs (54.4 kg). She is quite skinny, but has a bit of tone to her muscles as she occasionally works out with her Pokemon. She has dark green hair and icy blue eyes.
Outfit: Her usual outfit consists of a long sleeved shirt and a short skirt with thigh high socks and dress shoes with a buckle. She also has an icy blue purse that has little crystals dotting the zipper. Her shirt is usually white and her skirt is usually a light forest green, with white socks and light green shoes with a white buckle. She may also wear a teal green scarf and a longer skirt if the weather is cold and then a combination of a teal green scarf, a longer skirt, and an icy blue parka if it's as cold as her hometown. She has a Z-Ring around her right wrist and she has Icium-Z and Grassium-Z on standby.
Personality: She is quite distant from everyone but her Pokemon. This can make her quite difficult to work with people, as she tends to do things her way and expects people to follow her way. She will rarely ever have other people take the lead unless she knows none of her strategies would work. Despite this cold exterior, she's quite warm and sweet on the inside.
Hometown: Snowpoint City, Sinnoh
Team: Sinnoh Dreamers
Event: 3v3 Singles
Pokemon: Female Abomasnow - [TYPE]Grass[/TYPE][TYPE]Ice[/TYPE]
Nickname: Yeta
Ability: Snow Warning - When sent out into battle, a hailstorm is also summoned. This hailstorm can last for a long while (5 moves), and even longer if she's holding an Icy Rock.
Item: Icy Rock - Lengthens the duration of the hailstorm (8 moves). Strung through and hidden in her pine-like fur.
Notes: She is Sarah's first Pokemon and her main powerhouse. She is just as stubborn as her trainer, but at least she follows her trainer's orders. She plays a little better with other Pokemon, but still doesn't exactly work too well with others when pitted in a battle with them. She was trained to be a mixed specialist with quite a bit of bulk. She rarely ever uses status moves.

Item: Bright Powder - A satchel of extremely bright powder hung around Tails' neck with a string. This can blind the opponent.
Notes: He is one of Sarah's first Alola Pokemon when she was out adventuring in Alola. After showing compassion to the icy girl, she took him in and he has been caring over her ever since like a brother would. He is quite fast and a mixed battler, but wouldn't shy away from using Status moves to get the edge in battle.

Notes: He is one of Sarah's first Johto Pokemon when she was traveling there. She got him as a reward for being willing enough to give Elm her Tails so that he could study the Alolan Vulpix. Mega is quite defensive and bulky and is quite the Special powerhouse, but prefers to use Status moves.

Companion Pokémon: N/A
Backstory: Being born in Snowpoint City, she was raised to be tough. Her family were quite emotionally distant, causing her to grow up just as distant as they were. When she met a Snover at the age of 10, that's when her heart melted and she decided to go on an adventure. Leaving her home behind, she traveled around the Sinnoh Region, making more friends and getting stronger, and eventually evolving her signature Pokemon, Snover. She received her 8th gym badge in Sunyshore City, which is where she decided she was more suited for Ice- and Grass-Typed Pokemon.

She then went to Alola and found herself basically dying from the heat. She hurried to Lanakila Mountain and found her more staple member of her team, Tails, an Alolan Vulpix then. The little fox Pokemon helped to take care of Sarah as she was getting over from having a heat stroke. Seeing how sweet the little Pokemon was, she decided to keep him and he didn't disappoint in his battle prowess either. Sarah got a few stamps in Alola with her new teammate and Abomasnow before she felt like she wanted something else.

As she made her way to the Johto region, she found Professor Elm, who was ecstatic to see a Tails, as he never seen this variant of a Vulpix before. She left Vulpix in Professor Elm's care and, in turn, he gave her Mega, a Chikorita then as compensation and as a 'thank you' for allowing him to study such an amazing species. She went through 4 gyms before returning back to Professor Elm's lab and retrieving her Vulpix. She then continued on to gather 4 more badges before attempting the Silver Conference Tournament. She only made it to the Top 16 because she had evolved her Chikorita into Meganium and her Vulpix into the Alolan Ninetales throughout her Johto journey and trained quite intensively to get them used to their new bodies. She had her other three Pokemon that competed, but they didn't perform as well as her main three.

After her loss in the Top 16, she went back home to relax before hearing about another type of Tournament that is said to span all 7 regions. Intrigued, she traveled on over to this tournament to test her mettle.
Name: Remus Felpuv

He is very intelligent despite his looks, yet his other actions from his attention being diverted or when he gets playful ends up making him look comical and strange at best. He is bashful about his behavior and his eyes, but he doesn't try to hide them as he is trying to get over his social anxiety.

Pokemon: Female Mightyena - [TYPE]Dark[/TYPE]
Nickname: Shenz
Ability: Intimidate - After being sent out, she attempts to scare the opponent enough to drop their physical attack.
Item: Razor Fang - Gives a higher chance to flinch (10%) if the move already doesn't have a chance to flinch. Is strung through by a string and worn like a necklace.
Notes: Shenz is Remus's first Pokemon and his signature Pokemon. She has traveled with him everywhere and was born to be a competitive Pokemon, but tends to take things with the same amount of goofiness as her trainer. She was trained to be more physically powerful and fast, and she rarely uses special attacks.

Backstory: He lived in the Hoenn region for quite awhile, taking over his parent's breeding center that also serves as a sort of natural Pokemon Center with home remedies. As he grew older, his spark for adventure fired him up to want to travel. His parents took over their center as Remus traveled about in Kanto, finding other canine, vulpine, and feline Pokemon highly interesting and trying to catch those for his breeding center, as they specialized in those kinds of Pokemon anyway. He went through six regions, not including Alola, with varying amounts of success and gathering a random number of badges from each. He heard about the tournament and ended up heading there before he made his way to Alola.

Backstory: Drayda was born in Alola on Poni Island. After seeing the past Dragon-Type Trial Captain at a young age, she aspired to become one. She trained her body and mind, but wasn't able to completely get in the rhythm of things, causing her stop her training. When she was 10, she was gifted a Pokemon egg that hatched a couple days later, earning her a Noibat as her first Pokemon partner. This allowed her to regain her spark back and trained, now with her partner, to become the next Trial Captain. When she became of age, she went through the Island Trials and completed each one with her new team of Dragon-Types. Once she made it to the Dragon Trial, she fought long and hard against the Totem Kommo-o, who happened to be the "Trial Captain", as the actual Trial Captain had left. She was defeated by the Pokemon and went off to train before coming back.

This time, Drayda succeeded. She became the next Dragon Trial Captain at the age of 17, and completed her Island Challenge... Almost. It took her several tries to beat the Poni Island's Island Kahuna at the time, but she was finally able to prevail and was given the chance to be the Dragon Trial Captain. After more training, she dominated that trial, making her a difficult opponent to fight against. She used her Noivern in an 1v1 battle to prove the challenger's mettle after they go through the gauntlet of Hakamo-o that attack the opponents in droves as they made their way up to Drayda. If they win, they get to go on and fight the Totem Kommo-o. She was very difficult to beat, sending more than a dozen people back to train up again before they eventually beat her to move on, only to be stopped short of receiving their stamp due to the Totem Kommo-o absolutely demolishing them. She only gave out a handful of stamps and Dragonium-Zs to those who beat the last trial.

At some point, when she became too old to continue her Trial Captain ways, she left Poni Wilds and began to train in hiding as the Totem Kommo-o took the position of Trial Captain again. After some more training, she reemerged as she heard about a tournament where all regions come together and fight. Knowing she must join, she traveled over to this area, as she felt the need to fight for her region.

Having 5 characters to work with for one person is kind of hard to keep up (mainly for that person needing to control 5 characters XD), but I can make more characters and such for this :3 I'll add three more and throw them on the same post as my first two characters once I figure stuff out with them :3

Wanting a start in another region, she went to Kalos and found Professor Sycamore struggling with a Froakie. She went took college courses while she was out and about teaching people about Dark- and Fairy-Type Pokemon and Z-Moves, as well as dance and yoga to help pay for her psychology and medicine classes.

She is now wanting to compete in tournaments to see how much she has to grow in terms of teaching her Pokemon other moves and skills.
Both characters look good, accepted! Though I would consider giving Angel a bit more of a battling background.

I’m deciding to get rid of 1v1 and team doubles, making matches best of 3 and less overwhelming, that being said the new character max is 3. If we suddenly get a lot of people interested in joining I will change it back to the way it was.

Ooh! This looks like fun! I've got classes starting up soon, so my posting for anything is probably going to be pretty sparse for the next two weeks or so, but can I reserve a spot on the Johto team for Edward Thistle for when I have a spare moment to write up a character sheet? I've used him before, so I'll have most of his backstory if I can hunt down my posts.

Sounds good!

Do you still have plenty of room for this? I think I'll be able to handle another rp or two, so I'll join in if you need more people. I'm still thinking if I'll reuse Jaden or start from scratch with another character. So I may take a little if I decide to go with a brand new character.

Definitely still accepting, and you don’t have to decide, you can make more than one character. Though if you use Jaden you would probably want to make him born in a different region so he can be team captain (Johto is reserved)

I'll consider it, but few of my characters would probably want to be team captains, even if they were strong enough. I'll probably keep Jaden for a slot on Johto's team, and bring in another character or two to round out the team rosters. If I do bring Jaden in on this one, I'll most likely have him take the 2vs2 slot, unless you think he's more the power level of someone who'd be a team captain.

Just so everyone knows... you can reserve captain but whether or not your character is deserving of captain will still be decided later. Also as there seems to be a growing interest should I bring back the other 2 events and 3 trainer slots for each team?

The other events are 1v1 and team doubles

@Mango137 The OC in question for Kalos Captain is Talia Silverstone. (Presumably with Mega Altaria.) Would she be considered strong enough? (i also edited her backstory to say that she won the Hoenn League.)
Probably! But out of fairness to everyone I can’t accept until you post a bio here (though you can consider Kalos captain “saved”)

Screw it I'm adding back the other events, I loved the original way. If we don’t get enough people I’ll cut them out later. The events 1v1 and Partner Double Battle are now available
