It was okay when decided to play the free version, and left it to get crowns later. But I started getting sick of it when it kept sending e-mails about "New pointless offer for crowns (Only available in The United States and Canada)."
Plus, the awkward way to recharge your mana and potions is, well, awkward. Play random games at the carnival and we will top up your mana and fill your potions! They should have at least included an alternative.
All in all, the game is probably alright if you're American and willing to part ways with a handful of money, the main storyline is supposed to be epic as well.

Well, I do have to agree with you on the crowns, but the free version is almost just as fun.
Also, you could just find blue wisps or go to a potion vendor to replenish your mana, so the games are only optional.
