Why did you choose your OC's pokemon?

I put careful thought into the teams that I create for my OCs. I choose their pokemon based on their interests, hobbies, goals, personality, and sometimes, their background, and I know I'm not the only one who does this. Basically, I wanna hear why you picked the pokemon that you did for your OCs. I'll get us started with my new OC, Uxia:

Pachirisu: Uxia has a habit of taking in pokemon who nobody else wants, and pachirisu isn't the best, or most desired of electric types. It's not pikachu, and it's hard to use competitively, (Unless you're Se Jun Park). Plus, it reflects Uxia's background. She is from the Nita region, where people get their starters from gym leaders, and not from a regional professor, and since Uxia's local gym leader specialises in electric types, she got an electric type starter.

Meganium: This pokemon can learn a variety of pretty moves, which is important to Uxia, as she is a performer, but, it's outclassed by virtually every other pokemon as an competitive battling grass type. Because Uxia doesn't battle, competitive usefulness is not important to her.

Mismagius: Since it is said in its pokedex entry that mismagius often puts curses on other pokemon, and on people, I can't imagine that many people in universe would want to own one. Uxia has one, because she isn't afraid of them, or of their curses, and thus, is able and willing to withstand having one on her team.

Male Kirlia (Who won't evolve): Everybody wants either a gardevoir, or gallade, and some think that ralts is cute, but nobody seems to like kirlia. Uxia was eager to take it in after it was abandoned by its trainer, and even made it an everstone necklace, so it wouldn't ever have to evolve, like it didn't want to. Since it resembles, and moves like a ballerina, I thought it a fittng choice to put Uxia's team because of her goals, as well.

Furret: Uxia believes that every pokemon deserves a chance to shine. Yes, even furrets.

Male Salandit: Remember how I said that Uxia takes in pokemon that nobody else wants before? Well, she caught a male salandit, on purpose, because it was lost and alone and needed somewhere to stay. 'Nuff said.

*Cracks knuckles* I have a few so here it goes.

First up, Dustin Taylor

Eon the Eevee. Yes, I know. Eevee partners are a dime a dozen. However, with the sudden increase in people wanting Eevee's is what fuels this choice. With Dustin coming from a family of breeders who specialize in breeding Shiny Pokemon, and Eon's entire existence was due to the want for a Shiny Eevee so a man would get a shiny Umbreon due to it's popularity, is taking advantage of the millions of Eevees. If I was picking favorites, I would have chosen a different Pokemon, but due to the popularity of Eevees, it would make sense for kid raised in this way, to end up its one he had stolen, mainly because it was a mistake.

Jules the Electrike. So with this gal, I wanted a fighter who despite circumstances of weakness to fight, would still be loyal and fight. So with loyalty, I knew i wanted a dog like Pokemon, and I chose of one who could evolve. I see Electrikes with more room to grow then other dog like Pokemon, mainly because of a Manteric's ability to Mega Evolve. However, despite knowing a Manteric's strength, Dustin doesn't want Jules to evolve. This shows a bit into Dustin's charcter a bit more.

And Zeller the Buizel. So I wanted a father figure for the group. So Buizel, I see them as protectors, and Life-Guards due to their Inflation Sac around their neck. and that's it for Dustin.

The biggest picture for Dustin, with this team is for more purposes to show how Dustin relies on his Pokemon. Zeller plays protector, Jules inspires Bravery, and Eon is the friend Dustin never had growing up. They each give the boy something he doesn't have, but needs.
