Well in my sample, he somewhat out ran the wind. By superheating the air itself, the wind speed decreases. So what Arrow uses to increase his speed, it also decreases yours.
BOOM SCIENCE BLAST!

But you can't outrun me, because I can slow you down with a Hurricane force wind, then just fly by. And the wind can go quicker than a bullet. A talonflame can't go quicker than a bullet

The fastest wind gust ever recorded was 253 mph.
Regular Talonflames can reach 310 mph as a top speed. Arrow can go 390 mph.

But I can still slow you down. Or just remove all the air from around your wings and laugh as you plummet towards the ground
