Fifteen years ago, Deep Blue invaded the Earth, bent on claiming it for himself. With an army of powerful chimera animals at his service, he almost succeeded, but was stopped by Tokyo Mew Mew, an elite band of girls who harnessed the power of animals to fight evil.
Now, in the present day, chimera animals are appearing again, lead by a fleet of aliens bent on destroying all human life, and conquering Earth for themselves. So, a new band of heroes, given the name, 'Tokyo New Mew' have been assigned to protect the world from them. Harnessing the power of animals, go now, and fight!

"Ribbon...Liquorice Pierce!"
A grotesque, vaguely reptilian creature screamed in pain as a ribbon of white light pierced its chest. It soon faded away, leaving a tiny, jellyfish-like creature in its place.
"Collect!" A small, fluffy robot said proudly, devouring it.
A clack of heels, and the creature's killer had landed. The black bubble dress she had on faded, changing back into her usual blue princess coat.
"Chimera animal neutralised," she declared, "Kisa, scan the area for any more enemy activity."
The robot obeyed, eyes flashing blue.
"Chimera animal detected west of here," Kisa reported, "But fear not! Your comrades are heading towards the scene."
"Comrades?" the girl cried, "But I'm the only mew mew in the city!"
"Not anymore," Kisa reported, "Mistress Ichigo appointed new ones earlier today!"
The girl shook her head. "Dammit...I wish Ichigo had told me first! Alright, let's go!"
The girl headed west, holding her power pendant up to her lips. The one that Ichigo had given to her, upon her being injected with the DNA of a Poplar Hawkmoth.
"Mew mew Liquorice! Metamorphosis!"
And, as usual, Kanzo's transformation began. Hawkmoth wings sprouted from her back. Her coat disappeared, and was replaced with a black bubble dress, with bows on the chest, plus a black collar, indicating her status as a mew mew. Finally, white tights, and matching ankle boots appeared on her legs and feet. Now, she was Mew Liquorice.
The chimera animal was, as usual, wrecking the place. It was threatening several people at the entrance to the train station, and two already lay unconscious.
"Wherever these, 'comrades' of mine are, it'd sure be helpful if they showed up soon," she remarked.
