The Pokemon Village in Kalos is a home and safe space to many pokemon. Their reasons for being there vary, but much like Kalos itself, all are welcome with open arms no matter their circumstances. They live together peacefully, helping one another out and genuinely enjoying life alongside their fellow 'mons. A large portion of these pokemon happen to be a group of Eevees, who banded together to help each other out as well as the other pokemon within the village.

On one fateful day, a vibrant Rainbow unlike any seen in Kalos arcs across the sky above the peaceful village. It was almost too perfect, seeming to give off a sentient aura of longing.

And then it happens. After a few loud cracks, the mysterious rainbow shatters, sending eight large different colored shards hurling towards the village. Its strange sentience seems to lock on to the large group of Eevees, recognizing the strong evolutionary genes within them.
Perhaps they can help...

Upon the shards making contact with the Eevees, it activates the evolution gene within them, and an unnatural evolution occurs. Each different colored shard is physically fused with their respective evolution, and the power of the rainbow causes an interesting affect on each of them.

This is an exciting development for the once Eevees, and it seems this could be fun. But when going to sleep at night, a white entity comes to them in their dreams, warning them of the creature that shattered her. This creature appears to them in a conjoined Dreamworld, demanding the shards and relentlessly pursuing them.

Now the group must join together again and find a way to protect the rainbow and put her back together before the dream creature steals all of her energy through them.

Rules​
  • Follow 'Charms rules.
  • This will be a pokemon only RP so no humans or trainers.
  • 3 characters max. 1 Eevee per person, unless all Eeveelution slots have been filled.
  • There will only be 1 Eeveelution each, so we're not having 5 Sylveons running around and no others. Sorry, once an evolution is claimed, that's it. First come first serve.
  • A non-Eevee character will not be affected by the shards, nor the Dreamworld.
  • Make the effort to post at least a paragraph.
  • Proper grammar and punctuation is a must!
Guidelines/Info to Keep in Mind​
  • Make sure your shard is a prominent physical feature in your character's evolution. Be creative with this concept! Add this somewhere in your character sheet yourself so I know you've read through all of this.
  • The shards are much like pieces of crystal or glass, and will remain as such in your evolution's features.
  • The Dreamworld is a conjoined state between all the Eevees, so they can interact with each other while they are there.
  • If the creature touches one of the Eevees in the dream, it drains some of the color from it. If it goes grey, your character will devolve back into an Eevee until the shard rejuvenates.
  • Shinies are allowed.

My Characters​

Name: Uli

Gender: Female

Species: Albino Lapras

Personality:
Uli is very old and wise, always knowing the right things to say to ease the pokemon around her. She rules with kindness and a clear head. The village and the pokemon in it mean everything to her, and she will protect them with her life. One of her favorite things to do is sing to the youngsters and tell them fun stories when she's not taking care of business. She is loved and highly respected by all the pokemon in the village.

Backstory:
Uli has been part of the pokemon world for many, many years. Being the rare albino pigment she is, she was relentlessly hunted for her unique pelt by poachers and pokemon collectors, so she never really had a true home or safe place to return. Until she found this land in Kalos that would soon be called the Pokemon Village. She was one of the first few pokemon to step foot on this land and call it a safe haven for pokemon in need of hiding. She is the last original founder of the Pokemon Village left.

Ainsley is a very understanding and easygoing fellow. He likes to lay in the grass under the sun and lazy about. When his friends need him he's there, but he's really not much of a fighter. He prefers the peaceful approach if he can manage it. He is the proclaimed 'Therapist' of the group and village, often helping the others with any given issue.

Backstory:
He ran away from his abusive owner when he was younger, hurt and confused why they couldn't understand that he wasn't a fighter. He was kicked around, spit at, and insulted everytime he refused to battle. So one day he just took off, passing out on Route 20. When he woke up, he was being treated by friendly pokemon in a village, and he's stayed there ever since.

Favorite Color: Green

Desired Evolution: Leafeon.

Leafeon suits Ainsley the best because of his love for laying in the grass and soaking up the sun, much like photosynthesis. His therapeutic tendencies coincide with how a Leafeon can 'clear the air' with their plant-like genetics.

The green shard has fused with his evolution, and can be seen as two antenna that swoop back behind his ears gracefully with two green crystalline tips in the shape of leaves. There is also two small green crystalline diamonds under his eyes.

Extra Info:
- His name means 'One's own Meadow'.
- He has a permanent limp in his back left leg from an untreated injury in his youth.

It was a beautiful day in the Village. The sun was shining, the bird pokemon were singing, and Ainsley was lazying in his favorite grassy spot by the lake. He let out a content sigh, stretching his small frame and looking up at the blue sky. He blinked, tilting his head as he noticed a magnificent rainbow in the sky. It felt like it was almost calling to him.

"Well, would ya look at that..." He muttered to himself. His ears perked up when he heard a cracking noise coming from where the rainbow resided. 'That's weird. Rainbows aren't supposed to crack.' He thought. And then it happened...

Personality:
Nix is a high strung little thing, nervous and tends to overthink everything. She spends most of her time with Ainsley, as she's had many sessions with him and feels comfortable with him. Being the antenna pokemon, she can catch radio signals and relay information from the outside world to everyone so they can keep up with recent events.

Backstory:
She grew up alone in the wild, being rejected and chased away by humans when she would try to steal what she could in the city to survive. And when she wasn't in the cities, all kinds of predator pokemon chased her for a quick snack. She wasn't safe anywhere being the easy target she was. This is what triggered her anxiety at a young age, and it stuck with her. She came across the villlage by chance, and she's stayed there ever since.

Freewrite Free-For-All
Freewrite Fridays, now renamed to Freewrite Free-For-All, is a fun, creative way to express yourself and your characters in any form or fashion you'd like! Each Friday, we all take a few minutes to write something in any style we want. It's a great way to learn more about each other and the characters we've created!

It is mainly for inspiration for the RP and the characters in it, but there is no limit to the works you can post, be it pokemon or other non-pokemon creations. Be as creative and out of the box as you'd like! Let your creative juices flow, as you may post as many works as you'd like!

Each Friday I will post a notice for everyone on this thread and that's when you can start posting your works. However don't feel like you need to rush it if you're busy that day. You're free to post whenever you're ready, not just Fridays. You can't rush art!

It's completely optional as well, so there's no pressure if you're not feeling up to it at any point..

Name: Sam
Gender: Male
Species: Eevee
Personality: He is very loving. He cares about others well being. He tends to be very mothering towards other pokemon who are feeling sad and alone. Though when someone trying to hurt a smaller and weaker pokemon he will step in todefend them. He will not be one to setaround and do nothing. He is very calm and collected.
Backstory: Sam has always been the kind of big brother to the other Eevees in the village. He would tend to the younger pokemon. He was born to a very loving couple of sylveons. They showed him that being kind and loving towards others is what most are not shown. He is known to be very kind and dependable person to help others when they needed him to.
Favorite Color: Violet (the shard that Sam has obtained is a very light blue color. It seems to shine like ice when in the sunlight. The shape of the gem is a princess shaped diamond. He will tend to keep it with him at all times. He hates to leave it anywhere.)
Desired Evolution: Glaceon. Sam is someone who is more the calm before the storm. He tends to think things through rather then rush into things before thinging. He is someone who would rather be around one or two close friends then be in very large crowds.

Species: Eevee
Personality: Sunny is a fluffy ball of sunshine. She talks all of the time. Once she starts, there is no end. She is very trusting and firmly believes that every Pokemon has a little good in them. She is also very nieve. She is very compassionate, and will always try to place other Pokemon before herself. She just wants others to be happy, like she is. She is also very energetic.
Backstory: Sunny was found as an egg by a no-nonsense Absol. The Absol had pity on the egg and took it back with her, becoming the adoptive mother of the egg. She was raised by this Absol, and still lives with her to this day.
Favorite Color: Pink... (Used to be lilac) The shard is a more of a lilac color. It is also a small diamond shaped crystal. Sunny wants to turn it into a pin for her scarf. Although she will do what is right to make the rainbow happy again.
Desired Evolution: Espeon
This fits her best due to the fact she is a ball of sunshine, and Espeon is the Sun-Pokemon. Also, it fits with her personality best. Talkative (a bit too talkative), Nieve, Trusting, Friendly, She has very high highs and very low lows.
Extra Info: She wears a silk scarf. She lives with Nightfall
RP example:
Sunny ran down the stairs of Nightfall's house. A big smile was on the brown fox-like Pokemon. The Absol looked at her daughter and gave a small chuckle. "Why are you so happy?" Nightfall asked. The Eevee was usually very happy, but this time it was a bit extreme. Sunny ran to Nightfall and tripped on the way from a loose floorboard.
"Just saw a big rainbow!" she exclaimed when she was in front of Nightfall. Sunny hoped that Nightfall would let her go, but she wasn't certain. "Can I please get a closer look?"
Nightfall shook her head and sighed. "You can try, remember the rules, no talking to humans, don't go farther than the big tree, and come home before dark," she told Sunny. She didn't think that Sunny would go far with her plan. No one could catch rainbows! But the happiness of Sunny was one of her top priorities. The Eevee ran in circles for a bit, saying 'thank you' multiple times before running out the door.

Species: Absol
Personality: Nightfall is a motherly figure that is a bit over-protective. She distrusts humans due to her past with them. She constantly apologizes for Sunny's behavior, even if the Eevee has done nothing wrong. When she is in a place of leadership, she is calm and thinking. She is also good at tactics and helping weaker Pokemon become stronger.
Backstory: Nightfall was hated by the people who lived in the town close to the mountain that she called home, due to the fact she always seemed to come right before something bad happened. They started to throw things like rotten fruit, pebbles, and other stuff at her to make her run off. One day she couldn't take it anymore and left. (bad things still happened). She eventually found an egg and took it with her so then it wouldn't be alone. A little bit later she found a village of Pokemon, who took her and her adoptive egg in. She eventually became a minor leader-figure due to her calm and thinking nature.
Extra Info: She has a Quick Claw. She also is trying to become the leader. She will not take it by force though, but out of hard work and trust. She will become leader after Uli.

Personality:
Meredith is a rather calm Pokemon, more maternal and tranquil than rash and short-tempered. She'd like to find the best in everyone, however, she can be rather uncertain about others when she first gets to know them, even if she tries her best not to be distrustful. Meredith has been rather rounded out by her past, pain and trauma making her more accepting of the fact that she has to move on and cannot go back to the pristine and beautiful life she once had, and must pick up all the pieces and be a better individual.
She tries to play peacemaker most of the time- she doesn't particularly enjoy petty fights, even if she has something to say herself. Meredith's serene nature makes her resolve rather strong, and her problem solving is one of her best skills. However, when everyone shares a common enemy, or someone is doing unnecessary harm and purposely doing it- she draws the line there. She isn't the strongest fighter, but her mind makes her a fine strategist.

Backstory:
Meredith came to the Pokemon village after having been beaten and then abandoned. Meredith was a poacher/breeder subject that ended up being left to die. When she was born, it was figured out that she was shiny, due to her absurd silver coloration. The woman who bred her was extremely excited, giving her the nickname ‘Ribbons’ and planning to evolve her into a Sylveon by forcing her to eat burnt or under-cooked Pokepuffs, as well as playing bogus games with the trainer that she hated with a burning passion. When nothing seemed to work, the breeder, in a fit of rage, decided to make Meredith a laughing stock to any passersby. Beaten, verbally abused. Until she was abandoned in the frosty city of Snowbelle to freeze, and was saved by two girls who were saving other Pokemon from a major poacher incident. She now lives in the Village, happy and free.

Favorite Color:
The deepest of blues, the colors of the rippling waves of the sea. Meredith's shard has fused with her evolution, the main shard incorporated in the middle of one of her headdress fins, as if she was an ancient queen. Other crystals dot her evolution, two other crystals hanging from under her eyes, as if bags from not sleeping. The last protrude from her back, sticking outwards with a sharp edge, making them fit for the aquatic Pokemon.

Desired Evolution:
Meredith’s fit is Vaporeon. Her calm demeanor along with her love for the water makes it rather obvious. The water is also the place she feels at home in because of therapeutic reasons- her injuries and emotional pain being healed through her knack for swimming making her a perfect Eevee for a Vaporeon's role. She wants to protect the beautiful deep and those who wish to dwell there as she does.

Extra Info:
- Meredith means ‘Protector of the Sea’ in Celtic.
- She has a permanent scar that graces up her right leg, limiting a bunch of free movement, but this is resolved once she evolves and gains more flexibility.
-Meredith has an extreme soft spot for younger Pokemon.
-Finally, she has a fear of heights.

RP example:
Meredith dove into the abyss of blue that was the lake, the deep hues clashing with her strikingly light fur. She felt so at home in the water, a place where she could freely express herself. She swan to the bottom, using wucik attack to launch herself towards the water's surface. As soon as she emerged, she was doused with water, her fur soaked. However, Meredith didn’t seem to mind, laughing cheerfully. She then noticed the giant rainbow that graced the sky, hitting the pool of water and causing pastel colors to blend in with the beautiful blues. Meredith then beamed, continuing to swim under the pristine sky above her.
This was her favorite pastime, and some of the younger water-types had came to join her. Marian, a small Feebas, joined her, swimming around the Eevee excitedly. Meredith was always happy to be an influence to the younger Pokemon- she never wanted them to feel left out or forgotten in a place of acceptance. Everything was peaceful. It was...wonderful.

Until the rainbow in the sky cracked.

Hey guys! So I've been in touch with StellarWind of my own accord to make sure all was well and good for the concept of 'Freewrite Friday' and we're good to go! The only difference will be that there will be a separate thread in Creative Discussions that we'll post our works to instead of this thread.

Sense tomorrow is Friday (at least where I am), I'll make the thread then and add the link in both my notice and in my main discussion post. With this new system we can post on it pretty much anytime we want!​

So I think I'm going to try to do like a 'one post a day' thing on the Freewrite thread until we get some new signups. Just to keep the creativity going. I also might just change it to 'Freewrite Free-For-All' or something instead, just so no one thinks it's only on fridays lol.​

I've been working on this since Friday morning, save me.
Name: Sulfur

Gender: Male

Species: Eevee

Personality:
Sulfur is a jerk who only holds respect for the Chief and his cat daughter. Despite this, he still feels a sense of duty to do the right thing, even if he knows it's just going to get him hurt in the end. He made an image for himself as a tough and world-weary Pokémon, but he still manages to take actions that let other people see how soft he is.

Backstory:
A trainer collected Pokémon. Like they were nothing but pins or stamps or some other non-living thing. When he got a Pokémon from newly-caught to fully-evolved, he'd simply discard that Pokémon. Often into unfamiliar territory, if he didn't give that Pokémon to someone else. The only one the trainer kept was his very first, an Eevee he named "Parmesan". Parmesan was the only Pokémon that trainer ever named, too.

Life as the only one a human loved seemed fine, at first. The Eevee didn't have to make friends with anyone else. He had his trainer! That was what he thought, until his trainer learned about the Pokémon called Sylveon. The trainer spent every waking moment petting and feeding and playing with a new Eevee-- nothing that his trainer had ever done for him-- just to abandon her later. Parmesan told this new Eevee what was going to happen, but when she didn't believe him, the two began to fight. At first, the trainer simply scolded his first Pokémon for fighting with the other Eevee, and separated them. But Parmesan couldn't just let things be. He took every opportunity to sneak back into the other Eevee's room and warn her never to evolve, that the life of luxury she'd grown accustomed to would end if she did.

It got bad enough that the trainer made his very first Pokémon sit outside in favor of a stranger that was going to get thrown out into the wild any day. His trainer didn't love him after all. How could he have? That human's reasons for keeping an Eevee without evolving it were unknown, but all other Pokémon were just a list to check off and abandon. Parmesan waited for the cover of night, then snuck back in through a half-open window. He found his Pokéball in his trainer's bag, on the floor, then took it with him as he ran away. He later threw it off a cliff, and spent weeks rummaging through bins and homes until he was finally run off to the Pokémon Village.

When asked his name, he knew he couldn't be 'Parmesan' anymore. He chose the name 'Sulfur', because at least it wasn't cheese.

Desired Evolution:
Umbreon. His anger is not a fiery rage, but a cold grudge. He doesn't like to attack first, and instead waits until others force his hand. He's more active during the night, in part because he spent time sneaking around and stealing from trash cans before he got to Pokémon Village.
The ring around his tail is crystalline. When he attacks, all of the rings on his body glow the color of his shard instead of the usual yellow.

Extra Info:
- Sulfur likes to sit on high ledges and brood. It's a favorite pastime of his.
- The real reason he doesn't talk about his past is because he knows other Pokémon in the village have it worse. In the same vein, he doesn't act out at anyone for sharing their stories about humans. It's one of the few times he manages to be soft.
- Sulfur still steals from trash cans sometimes.
Name: Brimstone, Brim

Gender: Female

Species: Espurr

Personality: Brimstone is a gloomy sort, and clingy besides. She's a kitten who still needs to learn more about the world and about herself. She doesn't see anything wrong with stealing from humans or using them for her own personal gain, while is adamantly against behaving that way toward Pokémon.

Backstory:
Once upon a time, there was a woman who believed that Pokémon were not fully-realized creatures with minds and wills of their own, but accessories to be modified at will. None of that woman's Pokémon were battle ready; all of them were taken when they were small and weak. Her Espurr, she declawed and chopped off half of her already-short tail. She dressed Espurr up in uncomfortable clothes, fed Espurr stale food, and talked often about docking her Espurr's ears, too. She forbade her Espurr from using telepathy on her. If Espurr tried, she'd tie the Pokémon up outside.

One night, Espurr caught someone rummaging through their trash can. She asked what the Eevee was doing, to which he replied he was looking for a meal. Espurr let him know that the human in that house didn't throw away food, she just gave food that was a little off... or a lot off... to her Pokémon. This gave the Eevee pause. He dug himself out of the trash and started questioning the Espurr; if she had a human, why would that human feed her garbage? Why was her tail so much shorter than other Espurr? The Eevee ultimately decided he didn't need to rummage through this human's trash anymore. Instead, he chewed through Espurr's rope and had her use her psychic powers to steal the good stuff. The food in the fridge was theirs now.

They took their feast back to the Eevee's home, a place called Pokémon Village. When asked her name, Espurr told them her human didn't give her one. Eevee, who took it upon himself to be this kitten's caretaker, decided to call her Brimstone. If they were going to be partners in crime, their names might as well match.

Extra Info:
- Brim has less control over her psychic powers than other Espurr. This has typically hurt Sulfur in the past.
- Brim can't climb on her own.
- Brim is more active at night because she's a cat.
Brimstone held her paws tight against her folded ears. She shuddered and shook, silent-- Any motion from her, she was sure, would force her to explode in the crowd. 'What's wrong?' asked a Pancham, who drew ever closer.

Sulfur's voice cut through the concerned murmurs of the crowd. "Everyone back off!" He padded in front of the kitten, until Brim's line of sight filled with nothing but fluffy, Eevee-brown fur. "I get it," he started, his voice as firm as ever. "You're all worried and junk. But you're crowding the kitten. So, get. Buzz off." The crowd's dispersal brought the Espurr to let her muscles relax--

A purple wave of pure energy burst from underneath her ears. The Eevee in front of her went flying, no, soaring high above the tree tops. The force of his impact against the surface of the lake displaced the fish below and made a grand splash, the likes of which had never been seen by even the strongest of Magikarp.

Brim rushed to the edge of the water. There, she waited for what must have been an eternity for the Eevee to resurface, for him to paddle to land, for something! Soon, she got her wish. The knocked-out Eevee, pushed up to the surface of the water by a Skrelp who slowly and surely pushed the fox back onto the shore. Brim tried to listen for breathing, to feel for a heartbeat, but she couldn't hear anything. Not until the Eevee started to cough.

@Von Pumpkin Accepted! Your writing shows a lot of promise and I adore both characters! I love that Sulfur used to be called Parmesan, lol. A nice way to bring attention to little details and such. Although just to clarify the Leader and Chief of Pokemon Village is currently Uli the albino Lapras. Her character sheet is up with my other characters in the main thread post. Nightfall the Absol, who I assume is who you were talking about, is Uli's successor.​

Oh, no, I was talking about Uli. The kindly old lady who set this whole place up is the only one (other than his cat daughter) who Sulfur shows consistent respect to. She kind of made all of this possible in the first place; he'd be pretty silly not to.

Edit for more clarification: I think he's more likely to test Uli's successor to see if the Absol is worthy of carrying that burden than anything.

He'll want her to be strong, and he'll want to make sure she's doing what's best for the village, so he'll probably end up questioning her decisions all the time. He doesn't respect her yet, but he's open to getting her to earn it. In fact, that's his end goal. His actions will all be in the interest of making sure Nightfall is good for the group; he will never ever disrespect her just to disrespect her. Nor will he ignore her if he knows she's making a good point.
