The Festival of Stars 2010

"Oh, uh, I'm just looking for now." Warren responded, a bit surprised by the shopkeeper's tone. He had seemed a lot less pushy from afar, and Warren could already feel himself disliking him. He glanced over at Waldo, whose head was burried in the trash bin, legs flailing carelessly about, then started to scan the shop's items.

The first thing he noticed was that everything was a cat. His eyes narrowed as he looked distastefully about, trying to find anything that didn't have some happy Skitty or playful Meowth plastered on it. Warren stepped back without a word, joining Waldo again by the trashcan.

"Change of plans, that store is creepy and I don't like that guy. Find anything good?"

Waldo popped up for a second, mouth full with the remains of what had been a large colorful lollipop on a wooden stick. Dropping the lollipop, he hopped down from the trash and attempted to wrap a now sticky tail on Warren's wrist. Warren shrugged it off, grossed out, and eventually, after deciding Waldo was too dirty to be around at this time, returned him to his Pokeball. "I'll find a bath for you later." He promised as Waldo dematerialized and took a rest in his ball.

Warren walked around by himself for a bit, passing over the same places repeatedly before finally feeling lonely. With a sigh, he looked around, then backtracked over to KitKatNekoNeko and confronted the owner more confidently. "Hi again." He looked down to his Bastiodon shirt, realizing he needed a new sweater now that his was covered in ice cream. "What kind of sweaters do you sell?"

"I've been better. Work has been hectic, but at least it pays well," she replied. Ame laughed a little bit when he jokingly told her he wished she would pay him with a coat. He had wanted one since before she even met him, so it was a bit refreshing to know that he was still adamant on getting one.

At the question to join them she looked to Charles, simply raising an eyebrow. The black dragon looked contemplative, but after a short while nodded slightly. Ame beamed at Charles, turning back to Brian, nodding her head slightly as well, which caused her to re-adjust the Luxray star in her hair.

"We'd love to join you for lunch," she replied, "And if you'll join me afterwards, I may have brought an extra coat with me. Maybe," she said, smirking a little bit playfully. Ame remembered all the flirting she had done with him before, but never really knew how he reacted. Nevertheless, it was great fun to do it all over again.

"Please, lead the way," she said, holding her hand out before her and moving to the side, to better allow him to lead her to wherever they were going.

It was some form of tag-team combo in an attempt to try and knock Cole off of his feet. First, a Shieldon was busy trying to crawl up Cole's leg. That was easy enough to handle, but then the second push came when a man, easily eighteen, forced his suave self in between Cole and, his hopefully new friend, Aiden. Cole fell backwards, and heard two distinct metal clicks. They both came from his leg, presumably from a shocked Shieldon. As he stumbled, Stag, as his Stantler was affectionately known, pushed his head down, and his antlers snagged Cole under the shoulders. The pokémon hoisted Cole back up, and received a pat of acknowledgment from Cole.

"Thanks, boy," Cole said under his breath. As he stood, he felt Stag drag an antler lightly down his back before finding its way underneath the Shieldon's tummy and lifting it up. Stag took the opportunity to lightly fling the Shieldon in the air and let it land softly on Stag's soft head. Cole smiled, and his Stantler waltzed up next to him. Cole strafed around the debonair man, and placed himself at a nice, conversational angle.

"Hi," Cole said with a flat tone. He was admittedly a bit agitated at the man that looked like he belonged in a casino, but he was still willing to start a conversation with him and his-

Wait. That girl right there. The exotic one in the back. Were they related? Stupid rich families can just BUY the good-looking genes now, can't they? Wait. Conversation. Back to it. Come on, Cole, words. He took Aiden's hand in a firm, friendly handshake.

"Cole," Cole introduced. "Nice to meet you." He turned to the blackjack dealer and belly-dancer and smiled. "And your names?" he asked.

Ethan was rather put off by the fact that the person simply waltzed over and then left. It was his problem if he didn't like cats, but he could say something. "Fine," He muttered, "Be that way." He figured at the rate people were appearing at, he very likely couldn't close down for some time for now, and decided he would just wait for later. Noticing the guy had quickly returned, he tried his best not to look miffed, but personally didn't care much.

"Hi again." That's the best he could come up with? Ethan's other hand other under the counter prominently twitched. "What kind of sweaters do you sell?" Ethan giggled inside. Very loudly. Almost so much it went outside.

"Oh, well my dear~" He began, "The only sweaters WE sell are ones that meow when touched! Isn't that the greatest?" Ethan used his other hand to gesture towards Skittles, who then jumped to the back and pushed all the regular cat sweaters out of sight, and bringing back three: A pink one with a Skitty protruding from it, a blue one with a tail on the back, and a rainbow one with four sleeves.

"So, which would you like, sir~?" Ethan took note of the other customer now, noticing he asked about the eggs that he had still forgotten to put away. Facepalming inwardly, he turned towards the second man, and said, "They're 400 Poke each. Take your pick, felines are inside. There were six, and now there's four, I believe, so I suppose your chances of getting something other than a Magikarp are better. Or, you know, worse." Ethan giggled. He did so love the egg lotto.

Meork reprimanded herself inwardly for being so careless. She had allowed a snake to get near her, and now wondered why she had thought hiding between two tents even made sense at the time, but no matter. Meork clutched the wallet tighter between her fangs.

"I'm rather sorry to bother you, Miss," The snake uttered in a rather cheerful and unnerving tone. "I have reason to believe you might have something quite precious there with you," Meork defiantly stared back at the intimidating cobra, even as it sinisterly uttered, "So, how shall we have it?"

"I think," The Persian began, picking her words carefully after grabbing the wallet from her mouth with her tail, "That we can have it," Then an idea came into her head. He seemed masculine enough, and it was better than nothing, since the two looming tents were not reliable pawholds. So she took two steps forward, and smiled, sweetly meowing,

"Any way you like~" With that, Meork gathered up all her charms and did her best to Attract the menacing poison type.

"Aw now you're just teasing me." Brian said lightheartedly when Ame suggested he might be getting a new trench coat if he stuck with her. But of course he would have stayed with her anyway, things were always more entertaining in groups.

Ame stepped to the side allowing Brian to take the lead for the food hunting. "Well let us be off then Milady." Brian said crossing his arm over his chest and bowing slightly. He didn't really know where he was going himself. When it came to finding lunch at a festival such as this, Brian usually just wandered aimlessly and let his nose and instincts decide where they wanted to go. Of course Axel sometimes intervened as well.

On this particular venture, Brian spotted a fresh sea food cart with "Deep Delights" written on a red awning hanging over the cart for shade. There was an unlit lantern hanging from the awning possibly to draw customers later that evening. A line of three people stood in front of the vendor waiting to be served while Brian was already sold on the idea based solely on the delicious scents coming from the stand's grill.

"What do you think Ame? Is seafood your thing or should we keep looking?" inquired Brian curtiously as a person left with a plate of fried eel reducing the line to two people.

"Well what ever you decide, make it quick. I'm hungry!" Axel told his trainer rubbing his hungry stomach.

Ame was thoroughly amused at Brian calling her 'Milady'. It seemed a bit formal, especially for someone like her. She glanced at Charles, who looked to be amused with her. Seeing him smile caused her to smile all the more, and she turned back to follow Brian where he lead them.

Soon the smell of seafood came to her nose, but the some that was in sight was a bit far away at this point. She glared at Charles slightly, as if accusing him. You're making me smell what you smell again, aren't you?

It smells so good, Ame, he replied, I couldn't resist. I know you like meat as much as I do. She simply gave a wry smile back at the black Charizard, coming even closer to the stand.

"What do you think Ame?" inquired Brian, "Is seafood your thing or should we keep looking?" His monkey friend commented to choose fast because he was hungry. Ame chuckled softly, nodding her assent, wondering slightly at if they somehow read her and Charles' minds on the matter.

"I like seafood as long as it's cooked," she replied, "So as long as it's not sushi, I'm fine."

A strong but pleasant feeling began to overwhelm Hazama. Glaring directly at the Persian, he had little time to react to her nefarious tricks on his heart. Looking at her more and more, he began to take not of the beauty of her features. That warm red gem on her forehead, the long, sharp whiskers that firmly protruded around her face. And most of all, those delicate, yet cold eyes. Those eyes were simply stunning. Their intense gaze matching possibly his own. The deeper the two stared at one another, the more Hazama thought that he could hear music from somewhere. Joyful tones that seemed to beckon him towards the Cat Pokemon.

"Hazama, what on earth are you doing?" Eloise Margaret asked her Arbok. The snake Pokemon was rocking his head to and fro, staring lovingly at what appeared to be a Persian. Upon closer inspection, she noticed that the Persian had something rather familiar-looking hanging from her tail.

"That's my-" But before she said could say anything else, a purple blur dashed before her, nearly knocking her off her feet. Hazama was very much in love, or at least infatuated with the Persian. However, infatuation can come in many different forms and it is difficult to say whether or not Hazama's methods being what they were, proved to be an advantage or not.

The Arbok quickly circled around the cat Pokemon, his tail waggin incessantly. Although most other Pokemon would probably be seeing hearts and have skittish faces being so close to their crushes, Hazama's gaze was even more intense than it was before being infatuated. In a single swift motion, the snake coiled itself around the Persian's body, hugging her quite tightly. Placing his head near her ear, his tongue slithered in and out of his mouth, taking in her scent. "Any way I like, eh?" he said with a chuckle.

"How about we find us a nice, quiet spot where I can cling to you adoringly as you tell me all about yourself. Perhaps a nice lunch of Rattata with some fine berry juice under a lovely cherry tree?" Hazama chuckled excitedly at the prospect of a romantic afternoon between the two of them. His head swam with thoughts as to what else they could do, along with several romantic montages. What sort of romantic montage a snake could imagine would no doubt be an interesting thought, however there was one other person that wasn't very keen on Hazama's newest romantic endeavor.

"To think that a Pokemon would go around stealing valuables," Eloise Margaret said as she approached the two lovebirds. "There's no way such a creature could learn to do so on her own. She had to be trained. Goodness me, the thought of trainers using Pokemon for their own nefarious deeds. Why I never-" and as she plucked her wallet out of the Persian's tail, she continued on mumbling to herself bitterly about nefarious plots and poor, misguided Pokemon. Several feet away, her other Pokemon stood alongside the Blissey and young lady Eloise Margaret had by now almost forgotten.

Francesca looked at her fellow Pokemon clinging needily to a complete stranger of a Persian. Then she looked over to her mistress, who continued babbling non-stop as she checked her wallet to ensure all of its contents had not disappeared. The Chansey could complain, slap them both across the head and sermon them on how unrefined their mannerisms were; That they were part of the esteemed family of Joy, known the nation over for their expertise in Pokemon Medicine. Instead she sighed, resigned herself as she had begun to do a long time ago, and turned over to the Blissey she had previously been conversing. "I'm sorry, Miss, you were saying about a Pokemon Circus earlier?"

ooc:That certainly was not Wrap, nope. It was a hug....of FRIENDSHIPormaybesexualharassment, I dunno. :V

Making her way through the crowd easily was impossible, and for someone carrying a fragile Pokemon egg, quite dangerous. Avaril was shoved, pushed around and forced to go the wrong way. Suku did his best to try and force his way through the crowd, but it was impossible. The duo soon found themselves near an empty alley and squeezed through the crowd until they were no longer surrounded by people. Avaril let out a sigh of relief.

"Great. We might never get to the Centre…" Avaril muttered, sounding annoyed with herself.

Suku suggested.

"Attention Star Festival! One and all! I am Brian and this is my familiar Axel!" A voice called out over playing music. For you viewing pleasure we two monkeys will have a sparring match, technical term for fight, slang for beat the crap out of each other."

Avaril and Suku glanced at each other wordlessly, before moving towards the voice. Something that neither trainer or Pokemon could understand was shouted, aimed probably at the person called Brian.

"How dare you interrupt my crowning moment of awesome! How can I copy someone I don't even know about when I've been setting the stage since the wee hours of the morning? Now you get to the back of the line!" The guy with the mic shouted, sounding a bit pissed off. "Anyway, where was I? Ah yes! We will beat the crap out of each other for your entertainment. All I ask in return is for you generous people to throw your money at us. How ever much you want: pennies, 1000p bills, it matters not. Now Axel! Let's do this!"

Avaril and Suku arrived just as the male dressed completely in black charged at his golden Infernape. Avaril watched the fight, the two yelling insults at each other from time to time. They were good, that she knew. They'd be fun to spar against. Seconds later, she wondered if the trainer was insane, ordering his Infernape to use flamethrower, before remembering that she'd let Suku used moves as well. The fight ended shortly after that, the trainer winning because he'd bit the Infernapes golden tail. Avaril and Suku applauded along with the rest of the crowd. When Brian's Metang came close to collect money from Avaril, she grabbed a handful of random notes and coins then threw them in the bag it was carrying.

They headed away from the crowd, drawing out a map and searching for the (hopefully) quickest route to the Pokemon Centre. Because of the number of stalls littering the path, Suku practically had to drag his trainer the whole way to stop her from spending every cent she had. Once the two were in their room, Avaril brought out a Great ball and released her Vulpix.

"Vulpix, I'd rather take care of this," She said, showing the Vulpix the Pokemon egg. "But I want to see the rest of the festival. Could you stay here and look after it?"

Vulpix complained, looking a sweet as she could.

Avaril glanced at Suku, only having understoond a few syllables out of that sentence because she hadn't spend nearly as much time with the fox Pokemon as she had with Suku.

Suku said, his eyes going emotionless now that he was away from the air of the festival.

"Vulpix, the festival's really messy. It apparently rained recently, so there's a lot of mud around."

Suku added.

Vulpix sighed then said something which Suku translated for Avaril. Apparently she would stay here and look after the egg because she didn't want to get messy at all. And she wanted some dry poffins for her. Avaril promised she would, before sprinting out of the Centre, Suku right behind her.

Satisfied with his efforts and still ignoring the younger woman scolding him, he was surprised when the second boy stepped beside the first and addressed him. With words, and greetings, and he was just about to be on his way too...
...
But that was quite alright. He didn't mind sustaining a conversation for a few minutes.

"Russell Gray. And the young lady is my traveling companion, Colette"
"Colette Quincy. A pleasure."

As she spoke, she shifted uncomfortably under the younger boy's staring eyes. Awkward. Stepping forward into the little group that had gathered, she tugged uneasily at one of the knotted locks and criticized her companion with her eyes.
"I apologize for Russell's rudeness. I admit that I myself really don't know why he does it either."
The man himself seemed to have developed an ability to tune Colette out completely as he flashed a relaxed smile at the still unnamed young man.

ooc| Muh-Muh-Muh-Merry Christmas friends~

(I took awhile, whoopsie!)

Cole's handshake was surprisingly firm. Aiden smiled as he said "nice to meet you," responding with a "you too." He then noticed that Horace was up on Cole's Stantler's head. Aiden grinned, seeing that the Shieldon was making friends. Perhaps, Aiden thought, he should too.

He zoned out for a few minutes, when he remembered there were two other people there. "Oh, yes!" He laughed, "I'm Aiden." He said, extending his hand to Russel and then Colette.

Aiden had found some friends. He hoped.

"Cooked seafood it is." Brian affirmed getting in line. The sizzling sound and fresh scent of the grill left no question that this was what everyone wanted. While the four waited in line, Brian looked over the person in front of him's shoulder to get a look at the menu.

"Next!" the vendor, a middle aged man wearing a white apron and a chef's hat, called. Brian turned around not even realizing that everyone in front of him had already gotten their orders and left.

"Hi, I'll have ten of your mixed shish kabobs." Brian ordered pointing to the item on the menu. The vendor pulled the appropriate number of foot-long toothpicks from a bin while opening a cooler. He then pulled out parts of an Octillary tentacle, shrimp, scallops, and seaweed and skewered them onto each toothpick. Each item was then placed on a grill behind the counter and sprinkled with seasonings for extra flavor. While the vendor worked, Brian tilted his head to Axel and asked "What are you getting?"

"Are you kidding? I'm mooching off of your plate. That looks good." the Infernape proclaimed. Typical 'monkey see, monkey do' behavior. Brian frowned before turning back to the chef.

"Make that 21 shish kabobs." he corrected. If Axel wanted to turn this into a completion, then the winner would get 11.

"A big eater eh?" the vendor asked rhetorically. He repeated the same process as before adding the new ones to the grill. "That'll be 4200p." solicited the chef.

"Now hang on. This lovely lady over here hasn't put in her request yet." said Brian directing attention to Ame. The chef looked back and forth between Brian and Ame with a slight grin getting the wrong idea that the two were a couple. Of course Brian's choice of words hadn't helped the cause.

"My mistake, I didn't think you two were together. What'll it be miss?" the chef asked Ame.

Ame popped an eyebrow slightly at Brian calling her a lovely lady, a light blush coming to her cheeks. Is that really what he thought of her, a pretty lady? She recognized the assumption the chef was making and smirked a little bit, not bothering to actually say anything on the subject.

Instead she turned towards Charles, looking at the black Charizard lovingly. She pressed her hand to his chest, feeling his heartbeat through the warm, tough skin he had there. Charles looked back at her, a bit surprised at this, but otherwise not complaining, carefully wrapping wing around her. You are so candid with this for once. Why do you show them?

To put off the shopkeeper, mostly, she replied calmly, a bit of a humorous tone to her thoughts. Mainly just because I enjoy your company, and I need to ask what you'd like.

Perhaps a Magikarp flambe? he joked back at her, or a grilled Barboach? The salmon smells good enough. She nodded in reply, turning back to the shopkeeper, who was surely looking at her like she was some weirdo by now. Which she was.

"I'll take a plate of cooked shrimp," she said, "And Charles here is hankering for some grilled salmon, if you please. Is that alright with you, Brian?" she questioned, turning back to him. Her heart wrenched in her chest a little thinking of how he might have reacted to her display of affection.

She shrugged a bit, reminding herself that she had her PokeMon as her best friends, and that was all she needed, in the end.

Saying Brian was confused by Ame's affectionate behavior toward Charles would be an understatement. It wasn't so much the romantic undertones, but how sudden it was that left Brian baffled. Clearly he had missed something. Then again, some of the shenanigans he and Axel do on a daily basis probably left people with weird thoughts as well. Either way, it was nice seeing other people being open about their relationships with their Pokemon. What good was having a close friend if you weren't willing to let loose in public?

"I'll take a plate of cooked shrimp, and Charles here is hankering for some grilled salmon, if you please. Is that alright with you, Brian?" Ame inquired.

"Of course it's okay, I did promise that I'd treat you to lunch right?" he said with a smile. The chef went right to work on the order more confused than Brian was. At least the later had come to a conclusion based on his own friendship with his Infernape.

"Alright, your new total is 9500p." said the vendor placing three plates of food on the desk when everything was prepared. Brian opened his wallet and counted out the appropriate amount from his combat earnings.

"Here you are kind sir." said the trainer handing over the cash and picking up his and Axel's plate of shish kabobs. Brian moved to the side to let Ame and Charles recover their dishes. Once he was sure they had everything, Brian led the group to a nearby table to enjoy their meal.

"Klepto!" Axel shouted stealing the first shish kabob from the plate.

"I will not be beaten!" declared Brian grabbing his own and devouring the food from the stick. His eyes widened as he chewed, coming to the realization of how spicy the dish was. Brian pulled a water bottle from his backpack much to the monkey's amusement.

"So how is your lunch Ame?" questioned Brian picking up a second stick now fully prepared with what he was getting into.

Ame was deeply amused at the confused face the shopkeeper had, and relieved that Brian merely seemed a bit confused myself. It took only a short time for the cook to make their orders, which impressed Ame thoroughly. She took her plate of shrimp and Charles gently carried his plate over to wear they were going to sit.

Charles dug right into his dish afterwards, leaving Ame ample time to test her shrimp. She delicately tasted one, savoring the delicious morsel. What a wonderful cook that man was. She perked up slightly at Brian's question, giving him a small - albeit a bit awkward - smile.

"Delicious so far," she replied simply, "Though I saw you were a bit confused towards my actions. I wished to confuse the shopkeeper, because it seemed amusing to me." She shrugged slightly, brushing off her actions like they meant nothing at all. However in her heart, she felt much different, and was a bit hurt herself when she felt Charles' disappointment, though it didn't outwardly show.

"Charles and I do have a special bond," she continued, "But we're of different species, right? I'm currently interested in a human, as well." She hid it well behind her serious demeanor, but the human she was referring to happened to be sitting right in front of her. She was a bit afraid to tell him that, especially after he had seen her be so affectionate with Charles.

She shrugged to herself, reminded again of her bond with Charles, and that if Brian couldn't accept that, he wasn't worth her time.

OoC: Hopefully it isn't too late to join, I read the previous posts and nothing too major has happened, so I assume it's all right? Also, providing I'm permitted to stay in the RP, I don't know how many (if any) of you are reading Reformation, but there are spoilers.

BiC:

The crowd began to disperse as the wind picked up around several of the stalls, a gentle humming could be heard from what appeared to be a cloud lowering itself down towards the road below it. A few shop keepers shouted angrily at the Altaria and the trainer that rode on the Pokemon's back, the stalls knickknacks toppling from the flapping wings.

"Sorry about that! Sorry!" A young man, about fourteen, shouted to everyone in the area as he leapt down off of his Pokemon, a soft thud sounding from his worn, black boots meeting with the ground beneath him. "You big lummox, I told you to land outside of the festival, not in the middle of it!" He whispered to the dual dragon/flying type. The Pokemon let out a soft sigh as it hung its head. "Aw, come on now, don't be like that. I'm sorry I called you a lummox." The boy said as he pulled out a Pokeball and returned the Altaria. From behind him, he heard the hearty laugh of Legion, his Haunter. Undoubtedly it was laughing at the misfortune of the shopkeepers.

"Sorry again," The boy said as he shifted uncomfortably and inched his way down the road, toward the center of the Festival of Stars.

Now that he was a safe distance from where he had his less than perfect landing, he removed the blue-lensed goggles from over his brown eyes, pushing them up and causing them to move several strands of his orange-red hair up into messy spikes, like the rest of his hair. He lowered the black and grey scarf from over his nose and mouth, back down to its position around his neck. He wore a ragged, old, grey sweater and simple black jeans. On his hands were purple and black fingerless gloves that didn't match any of his other clothing. Flyn Logan never cared much for fashion, and his less than impressive clothing only proved that fact.

Flyn looked at all the stalls that he passed, not seeing anything that he absolutely needed to spend his money, or rather, his friend's money, on. Though, all the shops carried very interesting items and collectables, there was only one thing that he was absolutely here for, and that was the tournament. It was his first real tournament, after all, he had the right to be excited. He walked passed a shop that seemingly specialized in cat Pokemon based goods, and he continued walking without looking back, "I hate cats," He murmured.

There were a lot of people at the festival, and he continuously staggered from being bumped into or shoved aside, he wasn't exactly difficult to move with a height of five-foot-nothing. He sighed as he took a more aggressive approach, shoving back when someone tried to move him. The plan was short-lived, however, because a large and frightening looking bald man scowled and raised his fists, ready for a fight. "Uh, my sincerest apologies, sir..." Flyn trailed off, stepping back, "I didn't mean to--" He turned and started running in the opposite direction, the man continued to shout after him, and Legion cackled in his ear.

He turned his head to look at the Haunter, who materialized just to the right of his trainer, "You know, you could have done something to help." Flyn said to the Haunter, if the Pokemon had had shoulders, it probably would have shrugged. Flyn didn't notice the small group gathered in front of him, he was too busy thinking of a response to his Pokemon's indifference. The Haunter, still floating alongside his sprinting trainer, raised a disembodied hand in a point, Flyn looked just in time to attempt stopping, which in turn caused him to trip over himself and he crashed into the middle of a small group that had gathered with a yelp, as his face became better acquainted with the ground. Legion only laughed, in the boy's semi-conscious state he wondered how the Haunter had become his closest friend, then he remembered as it helped him to his feet and patted him on the back.

The creature found pleasure in other people's misfortune, and that was true for his trainer as well. It adored watching the problems of other people, and sometimes even played pranks and jokes to help them along. However, Flyn was the only person who, even though Legion found it hilarious, he would come in and help cease the misfortune. Once he'd gotten a good laugh anyway. Flyn even found it funny himself, sometimes, he laughed along with his Haunter for a moment, before he noticed blood trickling from a small wound on his forehead. "Ow," He moaned, Legion noticed a blue bandage on the back of one of the group members' head, he motioned to it.

"I'm terribly sorry, today just hasn't been my day." He apologized to the group. Two of them, both boys, appeared to be his age. One had a Stantler and was wearing a forest green t-shirt and a red vest. The other was traveling with a Shieldon and was wearing an orange jacket over a white t-shirt. There was a tall, dark-haired man who had a Jolteon and a girl with dread-locked hair and a striped shirt on. "I didn't mean to disturb you, I was just trying to get away from a man who wanted to beat the living snot out of me." He wiped the blood off of his forehead, careful not to touch the actual cut. Legion motioned to the bandage again, implying that Flyn should ask.

"Flyn..." An older sounding boy breathed from behind him, Flyn stiffened at the sound of the voice. "I can't leave you alone for five minutes without you getting into some sort of trouble, can I?" The voice sounded irritated, but not angry. It was soft and kind, but still firm enough to hear the disappointment. Flyn turned and saw a man about seventeen years old, he was dressed in a dark green dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up, black jeans, and black and blue Hi-tops. His black hair was pushed out of his eyes, and the pale green streaks caught the sunlight, they matched the color of his eyes. A leather messenger bag hung behind him, and an Umbreon sat at his feet, ever watchful and wary of the group before them.

"Oh. Hi, Rein. You know, I was just looking for you. Weren't you flying right behind me?" Flyn asked innocently. Legion nodded in agreement with his trainer.

"I was, until you and your Altaria decided to fly through a cloud and I lost sight of you. Luckily Napalm spotted the commotion you caused when you landed and we weren't too far behind you." Rein sighed. "It wasn't too hard find you, I just had to follow the disaster that you created. One gentleman seemed particularly distraught."

"I didn't mean to bump into that guy, I was just trying to find the sign-up table." Flyn began to argue, Rein shook his head and laughed softly. He wasn't upset, he'd known Flyn long enough to expect this sort of thing. He raised his hand to stop Flyn's speech, just as he was getting into the 'it wasn't my fault' part.

"I'm sorry for my friend's behavior, everyone." Rein addressed the group with a smile, "My name is Rein Vanguarde," He said with a slight bow, "And this is Flyn Logan," Flyn waved to the group, embarrassed.

Pleased with the lighthearted atmosphere floating around the small quartet- clearly oblivious to Cole's slightly miffed expression, Russell offered a twinkling grin that produced a single, small dimple in his cheek as he clasped young Aiden's hand with both of his, giving the boy a firm squeeze and a greeting shake before releasing his grip and stepping aside for Colette to approach him.

Relieved at the way in which the boys were so ready to brush off her companion's questionable forwardness, she tugged her hand free of one of the sequined fingerless gloves she had taken to wearing and took Aiden's hand in a significantly gentler shake, addressing the younger boy with a brief nod of her head- and all was looking brighter until a solid, firm something broke her grip and her stance as an arm or something flailing caught her in the side and pulled her to the ground. Grunting lightly, she propped herself up onto her elbow and used the other hand to rub at her sore hip as she stared stupidly at the mop of orange hair before her and finding herself at a loss for words. Turning her gaze to the boy's haunter, she caught a glance at his motioning and pointing and "This here will help you doodadoo"-ing, and numbly groped around until the spare bandage had been pinched between her fingers. When the stranger began to speak was when she noticed the firm grip that quickly hauled her to her feet as she suddenly felt Russell's chest bumping her shoulder and realized she was quite upright again. Brushing herself off as the man stepped back and out of her personal bubble, the pair of them spared a glance at the newcomer who appeared to have been a little closer to their age than the three younger boys, if not the same age as Colette herself. Being unable to help himself from listening in to their conversation, Russell immediately perked up at the mention of sign-ups- something he and his companion had neglected to do yet.
When the older of the boys introduced the pair, the man pressed the handkerchief he had utilized earlier into Colette's palm as she rested one hand on Flyn's head and tilted his face back so the cut came into plain view.

"C'mere a second, let me get that for you."

As she dabbed gingerly at the cut, Russell turned to the older boy and extended a hand in greeting.

"Russell, the young lady tending to your friend is Colette. Everyone seems to be just fine so I wouldn't worry myself over it, but now that you mention it I think we've all neglected to address the initial step of signing up for the tournament- those of us who are participating, at least." As he finished speaking, the young woman was fixing the bandaid in place and smiling apologetically at the youth.

"I kinda wish this was a different color, considering how very, very blue it is against your hair, but it'll have to do for now. Are you alright?"

Tony watched the crowds for some time, many interesting people passed. He might have to battle them in the tournament, so he was doing his best to examine the Pokemon they had out. A shiny Charizard was the most interesting thing he saw. It looked like it would be a blast to battle. Eventually he got sick of sitting around, and got up to follow a boy with a Haunter. He made sure to keep back a few yards, as not to raise suspicion. Seth took his customary spot on his shoulder. Eventually the boy tripped, and the Haunter helped him up. A boy with an Umbreon appeared as well, seeming to know the other boy.

Tony had always liked Umbreon, and any trainer with one was one that could normally be trusted. Umbreon only evolved if it fully trusted it's trainer. So, Tony greatly respected trainers with Pokemon like Umbreon and Espeon, they were truly good trainers.

"An Umbreon, must be a nice trainer," he muttered to Seth.
"Or a thief," the Buizel responded, "you would know all about that, though."
"Flynt likes me, and I stole him by accident," he countered.
We all like you, your a pretty likable guy since you warmed up to others.
"You want me to talk to them, don't you."
"You know it!"
"Please, I look like a con man, you really think they would want to talk to me?"
News flash, buddy, you ARE a con man, that hasn't stopped people before, even when your in uniform.
"They already seem to be busy."
Okay, fine, if you won't talk, then I will.

With that the Buizel jumped off his shoulder and started towards the group. Tony ran after him, and attempted to tackle the Buizel. To late did he realize he had fallen for Seth trap. He ducked, and sent Tony flying. When he got up, he was practically in the middle of the group.

"Works every time," Seth grinned, climbing unto his shoulder again.
Tony grabbed his hat, which had fallen off in his tumble, and brushed himself off, before saying, "S-sorry about that. M-my Pokemon was playing a trick on me."
"And it worked perfectly!" Seth cut in smugly.
"A-anyway, m-my name is Anthony Vekkner, though most call me Tony," he was so embarrassed by the whole thing he had used his real name, instead of thinking of a fake one.

He took off his hat, placed it over his heart, and did a small bow. He was never good at the formal stuff. Something felt wrong, though. The emblem of Team Magma, which he wore on a chain around his neck, was gone. He quickly returned the hat to his head, and looked around frantically for the chain. If someone found that before he was able to hide it, he would be in trouble!

"Uh, oh, I cannot believe I lost it!"

OoC: anyone can find the Emblem, its a Team Magma emblem on a broken chain. It has his name (Anthony Vekkner) engraved on the back.

First aid in the middle of a busy street early in the morning. It was peculiar, but it could've been worse. Russell tagged off with Colette, and switched to greeting the two of them. Cole shook his hand as he offered it. He brought up tournament registration in the conversation as Colette eagerly tended the wound. Cole, thinking abstractly for a moment, slipped the band-aids back in his bag.

"Right, registration," Cole mumbled as he glanced at the device strapped to his wrist. The device was the older model, a small reminder to Cole that he should upgrade. It was shaped in a hexagon, with a square screen in the middle. Sticking up his forearm was a card slot, the same gun-metal grey as the rest of the contraption. The device was no more than a half-an inch thick, and no bigger than a half-dollar. The clock read 10:30. Where had the time gone? "The tournament opens at 8 tonight. I guess we could get moving..." Cole glanced around the four of them. "As a group?" He asked tentatively. New friends would be amazing, especially trainer friends, but he'd best not rush things.

Their group refused to remain as the four of them this morning. Someone new crashed in, albeit a bit awkwardly. Cole thought over the morning. He hit a guy with a pokéball at 8, and a group formed by 10. It was enough to make Cole want to walk away and forget them all, but something made him stay.

The new man introduced himself as Tony Vekkner, but then promptly freaked out over the loss of a... necklace? Cole smiled, and bent down onto the ground.

"Can I help?" Cole asked nicely as he looked around on the ground. Amidst the flurry of hastened steps, the echo of pounding soles, something chimed softly to him. The glint of a spare coin falling to the ground, the scrambling of a child's free hand to reclaim precious lost goods. That same chime was everywhere, the same chime that carried through every road and every floor of every child-baring house. That chime of innocence. The chime of a pure tomorrow, and a free today. A parade of happiness and simplistic joy. The chime of a rolling coin. Or, in this case, the chime of a free-falling amulet. Through the hapy, cheerful pounding of the pavement, he saw a golden glint. A glint of hope between the steps of distance and purpose. He reached out to it, grasping helplessly at that glint. Hoping, with every bit of his being for one brief moment that it was what he wanted. That it was the melodious finale to a short search of vanity.

It rolled into his grasp, and Cole stood up. An amulet tied to a broken chain, kicked into his hands. He looked it over. An old emblem of one of the Teams. One of them. God forbid he remember it, though. He took a mental snapshot of it, and tapped Tony on the shoulder.

"Is this it?" He asked cheerfully.

There were many times in Warren's life when he said something he instantly regretted. Once, when he was five, he had casually told his mother that he liked his grandmother better than her. Another time he had pointed out a particularly ugly Pokemon to his friend, who had then told him that it belonged to him as of the day before. And now, as the shop owner of KitKatNekoNeko brought out three equally horrible sweaters, expecting Warren to walk away with one, he was regretting his words once more.

"Oh... Wow." It was all he could say. The shop owner quickly turned to another customer, leaving Warren alone with the sweaters. He poked one. It meowed. Warren felt himself die a little inside; something this ugly shouldn't exist. He considered grabbing all three and making a run for it, depositing them in a trash can once he was far enough away. But he didn't.

'Do I have to buy one?' Warren though. The way the shop keeper had asked, "So which one would you like?" implied that he would like one of them. And he had already been rude to this man once before, if he didn't buy SOMETHING things were surely be bad between them. What if he were to run into him again? What would he say? But then, he didn't HAVE to buy a sweater. There were plenty of other items in KitKatNekoNeko. One of them would appeal to him.

Warren sneakily shoved the sweaters out of sight, pushing them behind the owner's side of the counter, and flinched as one hit the ground and meowed. He decided to avoid the owner's gaze, since he probably heard the meow, or maybe even saw Warren hiding the sweaters, and was probably giving him a nasty look.

It occured to Warren, as he searched the shop for something to buy, that he didn't even like cats. And, of course, everything in this store was feline in some way. Well, he had already decided he was going to buy something, and that was that. Something inexpensive would do. Like a necklace. He spotted several, and one in particular, a gold colored chain with a small Persian face charm, caught his interest. It was actually quite lovely. He had to have it.

"How much for that?" Warren asked, pointing at the necklace as he reached for his money.

Feeling a tap on his shoulder, Tony spun around. A kid stood there, Tony's Emblem glowed in his hand. The kid looked only a year younger then Zack.

"Is this it?" the boy asked.
"Um, yeah, thanks," Tony muttered.

He accepted the Emblem from the boy, and tied the broken chain behind his neck. He returned it to it's normal spot under his shirt. Seth tugged at the chain, making sure it would hold. It would stay, for now, but Tony would need a new one soon.

"So... I guess since you saw that you know what I do then?" he said to the boy.

Flyn flinched slightly, feeling a bit awkward that the girl was treating his cut, dabbing it gently with a handkerchief. "I'm really sorry that I knocked you down, I was distracted by Legion, my Haunter." He said indicating the purple creature floating behind him, flashing a wicked grin at the girl. "I hope you're all right," He flinched again as the handkerchief touched the cut on his forehead and she stuck a bandage over the small wound.

"I kinda wish this was a different color, considering how very, very blue it is against your hair, but it'll have to do for now. Are you alright?"

"Oh, yeah. I'm fine," He smiled, adjusting the goggles on his forehead so they weren't touching the bandage at all, causing his hair to stand up a bit straighter. "And the color isn't really a big deal, it'll just make me stand out a bit more," Not that Flyn needed any help standing out.

"Nice to meet you, Russel," Rein said with a smile, taking the man's extended hand enthusiastically and respectfully. "You too, Colette," He said nodding toward the girl tending to Flyn. "I'm glad no one got hurt, Flyn has a tendency to create chaos if he runs off alone," The Umbreon at his feet nodded in agreement. "Oh, and this is Lunara, my Umbreon." Lunara sat up straight and proud, she felt that her job as Rein's guardian was something to be very proud of.

Someone mentioned going off toward the registration table, "Let's go, Rein! Might as well go with the group now, don't you think?" Flyn immediately perked up at the mention of the tournament, he couldn't be more excited about participating in his first tournament.

"Sure, why not? So long as you don't cause any more trouble, and so long as they don't mind us tagging along." Rein said with a quick glance at the others. This was not his first tournament, but he didn't keep track of the number he'd been in before. Almost every time he participated in one something went wrong. But this was the Festival of Stars, there wouldn't be any nefarious plots or psychotic tournament leaders here, if he was lucky. This was the first time that he and Flyn would be competing against each other in a tournament, however. The thought was an interesting one, Flyn was good, Rein was excited to see how he would do.

"I wasn't going to sign up, originally, but Flyn talked me into it." Rein said to Russel, since he was the one closest to him. "It'll be a good tournament," Rein said looking around at the group, his eyes resting on Flyn, "No hard feelings if we meet in the tournament, eh guys?" Rein asked the group, it'd be nice to have some friends while they were here for the week long tournament, especially if they were all participating in the tournament together.

(Great, not just did I feel like crap for a week, but I'm slowing you guys down :()

"Oh, okay then." Jack said, putting more attention towards the four eggs on the counter than the stall owner himself. If there were only cat pokémon in the eggs, then at least he had no chance of getting a Magikarp. Jack scanned each of the eggs carefully, taking note of each of the different patterns of spots on each egg, apart from that they were almost exactly the same. He was no breeding expert, so there was no way for him to begin deducing what pokémon could be in each egg, he was just wasting time.

Jack stopped for a moment, then shifted his gaze back to the second egg on the right. He could have sworn the egg moved out of the corner of his eye. He waited for a moment, but it remained still. Jack finally became aware that he was taking too much time, and that the shopkeeper was probably getting impatient. Jack looked back up at the young stall owner.

"Four hundred poke you said?" Jack asked, quickly pulling out three bills from his pocket. "That should cover it perfectly then." He finished, placing the money on the counter.

Brian was at a loss for words at how moved he was by Ame's statement. He had been right, she did have that transcendant relationship with her Charizard. Brian also understood the desire to confuse the chef. He and Axel did what ever it took for entertainment, with messing with people their favorite source of amusement.

"I know exactly what you mean about being close with Charles." said Brian finally finding the right words to use. "Axel may not be my opposite in gender, but he and I are like brothers." At hearing this, Axel turned to his trainer with a raised eyebrow just as he was about to eat another shish kabob.

"If we're siblings, then you're the biggest freak of all you hairless monkey." the Infernape teased before downing his fourth stick. The monkey smile happily at how spicy the seafood was. Spicy was his favorite and according to him, it made his fire that much hotter.

Not to be out down by his partner, Brian quickly went back to his meal. As he chewed, he picked up on something else Ame had mentioned.

"Oh yea, you said you were persuiting a human?" he inquired after swallowing. "A smart and attractive female like yourself should have no problem in finding a mate, but if you need advice from a male perspective, feel free to ask me." offered Brian supportively, willing to help his friend. Without pausing, the trainer picked up another shish kabob and went to town as he was still behind Axel by one. Losing was not an option.

(Oblivious as ever isn't he?)

Ethan nearly burst out laughing as he saw the guy hastily push the sweaters off the counter and out of sight from the corner of his eye, and even moreso as one let out a little nyan noise. 'Oh, how fun to see him embarrass himself~' He thought, but would never say it. Twas a little too nasty. He pretended to ignore it and waited for him to pick something or leave, as any shopkeeper would do, atleast in his mind.

The guy said something, and Ethan turned to see him pointing at one of the shop's hand-painted face charms. "That thing? It's around...I think...Skittles, could you get the manual?" He motioned for the Skitty to go grab his price booklet, which he used in cases such as these. The cat returned and placed it at his feet, in which Ethan picked it up and flipped through the pages. "Ah. It's fifty Poke, I believe. Now just a minute, multitasking and stuff." He turned to the other customer and saw he had chosen an egg. Ethan picked one out of the set and handed it to him, taking his money with a thank you in return, and turned back to the other one, grabbing the charm from its space mid-swivel, putting it on the counter with a smile.

"Oh, that would be lovely, but, you see, I have somewhere to...go and all..." Meork quickly said excuses once the tables had turned on her. "There's the tournament and Ethan needs me there so I can get registered and all..." The Persian struggled slightly in the Arbok's grip, yet to no avail. It didn't help that the Persian lost its quarry either. Meork knew Ethan hated to resort to stealing, but it's hard when people label someone as a loony for liking cats a lot, but she didn't mind. She always liked the adventure in it. If only she could get out.

The cat turned its head to see a Chansey and Blissey conversing with each other. Maybe they could help her out. "Hey! You two! In the pink!" She yowled at them, "Sorry to interrupt and all, but, would you mind helping a lady out? It's awfully tight!" All the cat wanted to do now was escape, but making some useful acquaintances other than this huge serpent may have advantages later. Or not. The Persian didn't really care, but she did like to talk.

Ame felt her heart flutter in her chest slightly, a light blush coming to her cheeks. He thought that she was smart and beautiful? Not only that but he understood her bond with Charles, probably better than most ever did. This was all too good to be true yet it was and nothing could change that. Not that Ame wanted to change it at all.

Charles seemed to be somewhat neutral to the situation. He accepted that Ame was hesitant to bond with him that way because his kind tended to do it for life. If she wanted to seek out other options, that was fine with him, because he knew in the end she cared for him very much, and he returned the sentiment. They had become even closer over the last little while, so perhaps bonding with her that way was not too far off.

"You offer your perspective?" she queried, in an amused but teasing voice. "What if I were to say the human I mentioned is currently in my presence, hmm? What input do you have regarding that?" There, she had said it, albeit in a slightly roundabout way, but it was surely enough that he would clue in. If he still didn't get it, well...

"I really think after our meal you should come with me to get that trench coat I owe you," she remarked suggestively.

((OOC: Tee hee. Oblivious he may be, but Ame is persistent.))

Slithers turned to his trainer, seeing the somewhat miffed look on his trainer's face. Now Slithers was a rather intelligent Pokemon, taking after his trainer, and he knew the attack before had been unwarranted. Slithers poked his trainer in the shoulder, then pointed his head at the cat stand.

"What is it?" Jake questioned, before seeing his Pokemon pointing at the stand, "What, you think I should apologize?"

Slithers poked him again, adamant on getting his trainer to play nice.

"I suppose I should, but... oh let's just go over there, you know, this isn't a regular occurrence,"Jake said, closing his book and standing. Slithers rolled his eyes as best he could, being a snake, then followed his trainer through the thickening crowd. The boy was stubborn, but at least he was sincere. Jake strolled along, occasionally nudged by his Poison type, until he once again found the stand, a boy stood ahead of him, who seemed to be looking for a sweater, though the ones here were somewhat horrendous, instead the boy purchased a necklace and went on his way. A second customer purchased one of the eggs, also leaving.

Stepping toward the counter, Jake though for a second, then said "You know, I'm sorry for the way I acted earlier, in fact, I'll buy a Skitty plush as a sign of good will," Jake said, reaching into his pocket to pull out 350 poke, "Will this cover it? You know what? Keep the change!"

Once the younger boy seemed satisfied with the temporary patch-up job plastered to his forehead, Colette stepped back to stand beside Russell once more, a lopsided smile spreading across her mouth.
Cute kid.

As per his usual manner, Russell's greeting shake consisted of a firm clapping on the newcomer's hand as he fixed him with a friendly grin, an expression quickly replicated by his female counterpart as they greeted Rein in turn. However, it was only when the younger man had introduced his dark-type companion that the yellow blur weaving between the legs of those in the group slowed to a stop before his master, gazing curiously at the stranger before taking the bold move of actually approaching her in an attempt to satiate his curiosity.

"Oh, how rude of me, I'd almost forgotten- the mild hazard making his way through or under your legs is my jolteon, Koji. He's quite well-mannered, just a little lacking in restraint."

"And please," he continued, "feel free to join us on our arduous trek to the registration tables; our little posse here is little more than a hodge-podge of people that happened to stumble upon one another. In some cases, quite literally." The last sentence, most likely added as an afterthought, was most certainly directed at the young woman beside him as he smiled amiably at the dark-haired man.

As Russell chattered happily with Rein, Colette busied herself with the removal of each of her four small metal capsules from her belt and the polishing that followed as she rubbed them clean with the hem of her tee until they were gleaming.

"Back before I started to fall out of the battling loop - it's been a while, to be honest - I had a kid brother who put me in the same sort of situations. 'Course I loved him too much to say no, so, I know where you're coming from." A light chuckle, and he took a half step to his side to peer over the young man's shoulder and examine the board propped up against one of the kiosks that would direct the troop to the registration services.

"I agree, it should be an excellent tournament."

Brian shifted his eyes left and right trying to comprehend who was near enough to be considered in Ame's presence. After two seconds of contemplating, the metaphoric lightbulb went off as Brian came to the realization that it was he who Ame was referring to. He couldn't believe he had been so blind! Then again, how could Brian have been expected to notice what was going on?

After meeting Axel, Brian's main focus during his career as a trainer was to maximize his potential and find the limits to his abilities. The same went for any and all Pokemon acquired along the way. As a result of this, Brian was always on the move and rarely visited the same place twice unless it held some aesthetic beauty or was known for battles. This had left no room for romantic relationships.

Now, after six and a half years as a trainer and nearing the age of twenty-one, Brian's asexual nature was coming into question. At a time like this, Brian trusted his instincts above all else as they have always guided him right in the past. In this particular situation, his instincts were telling him that accepting her offer was the right thing to do.

"Well Ame, my advice for that would be to tease him a little bit longer, at least until the two of you match." Brian hinted indirectly enough that it sounded like advice from a third party, but in a way Ame would still know that he had figured it out. "And I would love to join you after lunch. I have a feeling things are going to get interesting today." he said with a smile.

Axel watched the scene with a mouth full of food trying to figure out what had just transpired. If this was human courtship, then he was glad to be an Infernape where the only requirements to mate were to have a big flame and excellent grooming skills.

Ame smirked knowingly in reply to Brian's statements, nodding her head in affirmation. He liked to be teased, hmm? Not to mention he had agreed to come with her after lunch... Things were definitely looking up for her, at least in her opinion.

"I will take your word for it," she drawled in a sultry tone, otherwise saying nothing. She continued her meal, savoring every bite of the shrimp now, even going so far as to lick her fingers a little bit. He wanted teasing? She was all too glad to oblige.

After she was finished, she gazed at Brian with her green eyes, though they did not seem so cold now. They had warmth in them similar to the fire that Charles breathed on their foes, much different than her usual icy demeanor. It was definitely safe to say that she was serious about what she had suggested.

She simply folded her hands under her chin and waited for the rest of them to finish, thinking about all of the upcoming events. Including the battling, of course.

Ame thanked Brian for his "advice" and went back to her lunch. Now fully aware of his situation, Brian began thinking about what his next move should be while he ate. He didn't want to be too forward on the first date, but as Ame had already made the first move, it was his turn to do something. Once again Brian decided it would be best to let his instincts guide him. Biology has been doing this kind of thing for countless species over millions of years.

"So are you and Ame mates now?" inquired Axel trying to get a hold on the situation.

"Potentially." Brian answered evasively since technically he and Ame had yet to do anything physical, only a little bit of flirting. Axel growled at not having his question answered directly.

Brian grinned approvingly at Ame seductively licking her fingers clean. If her goal was to get Brian's attention she succeeded. Now that Ame had finished her meal, she seemed content enough to watch Brian and Axel finish theirs. It wasn't like she would have long to wait as there was only one shish kabob left.

Both trainer and Infernape stared at eachother waiting for the right moment to claim their prize. Intentionally Brian blinked to give Axel a false opening. The monkey took the bait only to get his hand slapped the moment he reached for it, allowing Brian to grab the the last stick on Axel's recoil.

"Works every time." Brian taunted. "I'll at least let you lick the plate clean." he offered as he began picking the various meats off in his mouth one by one. The Flame Pokemon quickly snatched the plate and started running his tongue over the surface until he was sure he got every last drop of food.

Once Brian finished his lunch, he got out of his seat to stroll over to Ame. "Shall we be off then?" he asked extending his hand.

Ame perked her ears to the Infernape's question, of course having Charles translate for her at all times. Brian was right to answer that the two of them were a potential, but merely kept her face neutral in this situation. She assured Charles that mating had a different meaning between two humans, and that essentially the black dragon was still only a potential himself. He nodded in agreement, but nonetheless Ame could feel a slight twinge of disappointment.

Brian ate the final shish-kabob, earning a slight smirk from Ame. It was impressive, how he slighted his strong, fiery partner with everything that she had seen so far. First the battle where Brian had won, and now the eating competition between the two. It was interesting, to say the least, perking her senses towards them all the more. Brian got up and offered her a hand, which she contemplated taking for a moment.

"We shall indeed," she replied, tentatively taking his hand in hers, the soft skin of her hand grazing lightly against his. "Are you alright with flying, or shall we walk?" Charles moved closer, hunching himself to the ground in an indicative way of being ready to have people aboard his back. He now seemed to respect the other male enough to allow the thought, but kept his eyes closed for the time being, as if deep in thought.

Ame looked towards Charles with slight worry in her eyes, but remembered that she was the one who had initiated all of this and kept to herself, waiting for Brian's reply.

(My apologies if stuff in this post sounds jumbled, I re-wrote this one about five times before I decided on a course of action)

Jack happily picked up the egg, gave his thanks, and stepped away to make room for the next customer. He then held the egg up to his face and looked closely. The egg, like all the others, was a classic pale cream color with green spots dotted all over it, it was about the size of a football, and sat in his hands snugly. He made a note to get a proper incubator as soon as he could, but until then, he pushed the egg between his jacket and chest, using one of his arms to pin the egg in place. That should work at least for a while.

As Jack continued to stroll down the street, the smells of the many food stalls finally managed to captivate his nose. Moreover, as soon as it caught the whiff of grilled fish, his stomach jumped for joy. Jack turned to the side and saw a stall in which a middle-aged man was expertly grilling shrimps for two young adults, a man and a woman about the same age, who were both with their pokémon, an Infernape and a black Charizard. Jack stood behind them, cautious not to stand on the massive black tail curving across his path. He slowly leaned around the massive body to study the stall more closely. The man at the counter was selling a collection of fish and grilled dishes, the kind of food Jack was familiar with. And there was no mistaking the glorious scent of well-cooked seafood. It reminded Jack of those evenings back at home with his family when they roasted the fish they had caught that day on an open fire.

"Hey kid, you going to order this week? The festival isn't waiting forever for you." A voice called, snapping Jack's mind back into reality. The couple that was in front of him previously was already cleared and the floor was open. Jack stepped up and had one more look around to find something that would interest him.

"How about a grilled Magikarp, medium sized, and with some of those spices in with it, should give it that peppery fragrance." Jack suggested pointing at a Magikarp already laid on the cutting board, then at a bag of spices that were still on the counter, from the previously ordered shrimps,

"Sounds like you know what you're looking for then, that will be 2300p, or 350 poke, depending on the currency you use." The man explained, quickly taking out a regular sized Magikarp and placed it on the grill. He then took a handful of spices and sprinkled half on each side of the Magikarp, then left it to cook on both sides for a good four minutes. As soon as he returned the plastic plate with fork, knife, and a freshly grilled Magikarp on top, Jack took it and dropped the money on the counter, thanking the cook for the fish and cleared off for the next customer in line.

By now, Jack had finally reached the center of the star streets, where fountains jetted water undyingly to give the image of gracefulness. There was a circular stall in the center of the star; people were already waiting outside, forming a thick ring of people crowding and waiting for the tournament sign-ups to start. Jack did not expect them to start so soon, so he took the opportunity to take a seat on a bench, cradle the egg between his legs, and tuck in to the Magikarp. With a quick jab of the fork, Jack brought the chunk of fish to his mouth and popped it inside. A familiar strong and spicy flavor flowed through his taste buds, a delicacy that he has not had in a long time. And it was still only the first bite. Jack sucked himself into his own reality, with only him and his food, completely oblivious to the world around him.

Flyn smiled happily at the girl as she stepped back, though slightly embarrassed as well. First meetings usually would be under better circumstances than patching an injury, but in Flyn's experiences, making a fool of himself seemed to be how he met a lot of people. His always on the go nature started at a young age, as well as his general goofball nature. It was how Rein and he met, and he'd been Rein's perpetual headache ever since. Flyn stepped back to take his place beside Rein.

"It's very nice to meet you, Koji." Rein said with a smile, after finishing his handshake with Russel, "Hope Flyn didn't give you too much trouble, miss."

Lunara looked ahead at the Jolteon, her experience with other Eevee evolutions was limited, it was strange to see what she could have become with a stone rather than her fondness of Rein. She nodded respectfully, but didn't move from her spot at Rein's feet. There were too many people around, and she wasn't going to risk getting separated from him.

Flyn's face flushed a bit at the mention of members of the group stumbling into one another, in his case it was more of a crashing into one another, but he felt the comment had something to do with him.

"Thank you, Russel. It's nice to have a group to stick with, usually it's just Flyn and I, I'm sure it means a lot to him to have other people around." Rein nodded in Flyn's direction. "I haven't really been actively involved in the battling loop either, to be honest. I've been preoccupied with something else, I'm looking for someone." Rein looked off in the distance for a moment before coming back to reality, "'Course, Flyn here keeps me battling every once in a while. I'm not quite so driven anymore, I've seen her enough times to know she's all right, I just need to ask her why she left." Rein added, forgetting that he hadn't told Russel who he was searching for.

Flyn spoke up, "Rein's looking for his sister, we've been all over the world and only seen her a handful of times. It's hard on him," He said quickly, patting Rein on the back.

"It's fine, some problems from another life. Now I'm working on helping Flyn get his league badges, and in turn he forces me to try and get them too. We're mostly focusing on tournaments for the time being. Which is what brought us here." Rein explained, "Should we get going? The sign ups are sure to be packed." He said, pointing a thumb over his shoulder, toward the direction of the Festival's center.

"You know what," Tony sighed, "forget it, I should go, see you."

He dipped the bowler hat down to cover his eyes again. And, with Seth on his shoulder, he disappeared back into the crowd.

"Sorry about that," the Buizel frowned.
"It's fine, I'm sure the kid had no idea what the emblem meant," Tony sighed, "Johto children are oblivious to Hoenn affairs, and vice-versa."
"How do you know he's from Johto?
"Well, if he's from Hoenn, he'd recognize the symbol, so he's either from Kanto, Johto, or Sinnoh, so I guessed Johto, since that is where we are."

The Buizel nodded, content with his explanation. The two continued to wander through the streets of the festival, eventually finding themselves in the center of the star. It looked like this was where people would sign up for the tourney. Tony sat down on one of the benches near one of the fountains, it was probably best to wait until the lines started to move.

The Team Magma Commander decided to pass the time by allowing his Pokemon to have some fun. So, within seconds, the area around the fountain was filled with activity. Seth, Flynt, Andre, and Mike all went over to the Fountain, and the younger two seemed to be enjoying themselves attempting to get Flynt wet, while Seth watched, amused. Jake and Blitz were content to hover around him. The splashing caused by the normal Pokemon, and Jake's odd fur color, quickly attracted attention. Tony sighed, it looked like he might never get to rest on this vacation.

(Holy craaaaaaaaaaap. Sorry RX for not responding D:)

Sakura nodded at her previous evolution counterpart. "Oh yes, a Pokemon Circus. Sadly, if I recall, it only consists of two trainers; my Mistress and another female human. I don't recall a blue Pokemon, but seeing as I know little about my Mistress's partner, I'll assume that there was one."

Then she noticed the Persian that was tightly embraced by a rather infatuated Arbok. "Oh my! Big Bang, you should probably help out."

The commanded pygmy droopy-eared Pikachu sighed and jumped off of his Blissey partner. He then hopped to the snake and cat.

"Excuse me, lovebirds. You there," Big Bang said as he looked over to the Arbok, "you need to handle females more carefully, before I start a thunderstorm." Big Bang had a death glare that could easily be seen in his large black eyes, something he nearly perfected over the years. If only he could have been able to be a more menacing Pokemon, one with an Intimidate ability.

Kimzie watched as she was being ignored. While her Blissey was conversing with the pink haired stranger's Chansey, Big Bang was giving an Arbok the evil eye. Worst of all, why isn't she-... Kimzie then suddenly put the pieces of the puzzle in her head.

"Oh god no," Kimzie said, eyes widening. "Oh no, oh no, oh please no. I'm late to practice with Minnow!"

(OOC: Yeeaaaaaaaaah. Half assed reply. Sorry, this is the best I can come up with at the moment. I apologize to RX and Ethan :c)

ooc| I meant to reply to this earlier but I guess no one else is going to give us a kick in the arse to move us along sooooooooo here we go~

From where he had settled beside his master, the jolteon's violet-blue eyes flickered with a smile as he gave the umbreon a once over and nodded politely in response.

With an intrigued smile spread on his face, Russell moved to stand beside Rein and allow Colette back into the semicircle of people they had since formed since the beginning of the conversation.
"We're glad to have the both of you, and if you like I'm certain that we can arrange some kind of assistance in finding this sister of yours- Colette and I are both fairly well connected with friends and family in other regions, I can certainly-"

He was cut off at this point as a gentle finger burrowed into the dimple that has appeared in his cheek when he smiled, drawing his gradual and slightly bemused attention to the young lady at his side.

"For starters Russ, this is probably a personal search that I'm sure Rein would prefer to have the satisfaction of dealing with himself. Secondly, I agree with him, it would be wise to start moving that-a-way towards the registration tables."
Turning to the few people standing behind them, she gave a small smile; "All of us."

The small grin on his face grew the longer Colette's finger remained in the soft of his cheek, and he nodded as he turned his attention back to the other two young men.

"My voice of reason. I agree, let's move along."

ooc| hahaha is short but it'll do the job
let's go let's go let's go.

"Minnow?"

Eloise Margaret quickly stowed away her belongings at hearing the young lady's words. Ignoring Hazama and his continuing attempts to strangle her wallet's thief with affection, she rushed over to the girl. "Hang on, you're saying you know Minnow?" Eloise Margaret asked the girl frantically.

"I suppose that would be the girl Eloise is looking for," Francesca commented. The Chansey looked at the Blissey, then at her mistress, and finally at Hazama and the feline felon. "Please excuse me for a moment," she said sweetly to her equally pink companion before waddling over to the large snake Pokemon.

Hazama coiled himself tightly around the Persian. It did not really matter that he might be endangering himself by acting so spontaneously. It did not even bother him that he was acting so completely unlike himself. All that mattered was that he was together with the beautiful creature that was nestled in his grasp.

Francesca blinked at the scene before her. Seeing a side of her partner she had never seen before was quite surprising, if not a rather interesting development. She questioned what she might do to snap him out of his bewildered state, but then she also considered how his personality was slightly more pleasant then it would be under normal circumstances. But as she saw the Arbok puckering his lips and approaching the feline's own with a melodramatic motion, she knew her choice was clear.

"SNAP OUT OF IT, HAZAMA!" the Chansey yelled, while her stubby, pink arm came down on the snake Pokemon's head with all the force she could muster. Fortunately for Hazama, that wasn't much to merit a bruise. However, it was enough to bring him hurdling back to reality. "Cease this disgusting public display of affection! It really couldn't be helped, but really, I thought you had more self-control!" Francesca snapped.

A brief silence hung over the air between Francesca, Hazama and the wallet thief. The pink Pokemon began tapping her foot impatiently, waiting for the Arbok's response. The snake Pokemon's head suddenly drooped down, rocking slightly. A terrible grin began to curl at the sides of his face as his forked tongue slithered out his mouth.

Hazama raised his head menacingly, then turned over to the Chansey. He closed his eyes cheerfully before finally remarking, "Thank you, Miss Francesca." He then turned over to the Persian in his clutches and slowly opened his eyes, revealing a truly murderous look. Suddenly and quite surprisingly, the snake Pokemon loosened his grip around the feline. He unwrapped himself around her swiftly before slithering behind her. His head then came several centimeters close to the Persian's own. His tongue slinked out one last time before whispering to her with the most sinister of voices. "I'm giving you five seconds to leave."

The Arbok's tail tip then started waving to and fro like a metronome, and Hazama counted to it. "Five….Four…Three…Two…One…"

ooc:lol now I'm rather late this time around. So sorry, Tan.

While he was waiting for the guy to collect his item and give Ethan his money, Ethan noticed the earlier customer with the snake had returned. "Oooh, lovely." He muttered under his breath before he approached.

He had said as he approached, "You know, I'm sorry for the way I acted earlier, in fact, I'll buy a Skitty plush as a sign of good will," and then the guy pulled out some money, and continued, saying, "Will this cover it? You know what? Keep the change!"

Flustered, Ethan muttered something about not being able to take that much when the item was less, although Skittles seemed to have no qualms about it, sweeping the Poke away with her tail, and trying her best not to look in the snake's direction. With this, Ethan turned and grabbed the plushie off the shelf and gave it to him. "Alrighty, here you, um, go. Have a nice day."

Meork gladly took a deep breath as the grip was released from her. Of course, she quickly became unnerved as the snake neared her face and gave her five seconds to escape. The Persian certainly did not want to leave, but she was sure she would be torn to shreds if she waited much longer.

Of course, Meork was never one to leave in an undignified manner, and so strode calmly out of the incident, nodding in a thankful manner to the Pikachu and the Chansey. Before exiting, she pointedly passed by that odd girl who owned the snake, and made sure her tail wrapped and unwrapped around the girl's leg a few times before going. With this, she disappeared into the crowd, searching for Ethan's booth, but not before grabbing a few shiny things from the other shops in her maw.

(Sorry to keep you waiting Miss Dwayna. It took forever to reestablish an internet connection.)

"I would love to fly with you, but..." Brian trailed looking from Ame to Charles who was hunched over offering a ride, then to Axel. While he personally had no issues with flying, the golden Inferape was half Fighting-type and naturally opposed to flying. Sure Axel had ridden Aerodactyl numerous times when the duo had to go from one place to another quickly, but he wasn't as familiar with the black Charizard as he was with Brian's prehistoric flier.

"Don't worry about me. Charles is a fellow Fire-type so I trust him, even if he has the wrong secondary type." assured the monkey. Brian gave a light chuckle at his comrade's comment. Hopefully Charles wouldn't take too much offense at Axel making fun of his type.

"Well I guess that settles it. Thank you for the ride Ame. Charles." he thanked nodding to each one in turn. Brian got on the Flame Pokemon's back just behind his wings so that Ame could sit up front by the head. He figured that would be best for everyone.

The first thing Brian noticed was how warm the Charizard's back was compared to Aerodactyl's rock solid hide. It was a nice change. Axel got on right behind his trainer wrapping his legs and tail around the human's waist and his arms around Brian's chest for security. No matter what was said, the monkey was still wary about going to the sky.

All that was left now was for Ame to get on Charles and lead them to their destination.

"It's kind of you to offer," Rein began when Russel offered his help with finding Alice, but his companion's response answered for him. It wasn't that he wouldn't be grateful for help in finding his sister, but the brief encounters that he had with her, it made him feel like something was wrong, something that she wouldn't tell him. He didn't want to bring anyone else into his family ordeal. He already felt guilty bringing Flyn into it, but Flyn quickly made himself a member of the family. Acting as his older brother and guardian kept Rein sane, even if Flyn himself did quite the opposite.

"Well, we might as well start moving then, wouldn't want to miss the sign-ups because we wouldn't get a move on." Rein smiled toward the group, he had yet to talk to most of them, but that was all right, he liked Russel and Colette. Apparently, from the way was staring and how he seemed so intent on sticking with the group, Flyn seemed to like them too.

"Well let's go! I want to start this tournament, how can I beat the snot out of you if we don't sign up, Rein?" Flyn laughed, prodding fun at his older companion.

"Don't be too sure, kid, remember what happened last time you tried to battle me? Don't be over confident. It won't end well, never under estimate your opponent, no matter who it is. Even me." Rein said, trying to help his friend realize that victory in battle was never a sure thing, anything could happen and one must be ready for just that. "So, onward and upward?" Rein asked, Flyn lowered his goggles and lifted his scarf over his nose and mouth, "Not literally, we aren't flying there." Rein sighed, much to Flyn's disappointment. Flyn felt most at home in the sky, partially because he'd never had a real home on the ground before meeting Rein.

OoC: Short post is short, but ah well. Let's get a move on! ^^
