Ability: Rivalry

Species: Lucario

Ability: Moxie
Pretty sure the rules say your character needs to be at least 16, just to let you know.

Also, I will only be a Battlemaster because I wont have the time to keep responding as a participant (due to life and the lessening of a want to RP, but I make sure I wont let my character "fade away")

Yea I everything seems pretty solid except for his age. A 16 or 17 year old I can believe more since if he started his journey at the youngest possible age which is 10, that would be 6-7 years of expirence which I think is more feasible since his major league achievements are centered only within 1 region

Accepted if you bump up the age, also keeps it in accordance to the rules
@itsgarrett_31

@Merciless Medic
Totally fine, I hope this or another RP will invigorate your desire to RP, but I understand you got a baby very close on the way so completely understandable. Congratulations and good luck by the way, wishing you well.

Also I'm on a lot and hopefully we can keep this going. Hoping to make this a reoccurring thing since in my head cannon the Spire itself is only open to challengers 3 months at a time twice a year, once in the summer and once in the winter, but the island is open all year round.

Due to these achievements, she has only ever competed in a league once, and that was the Kanto league, winning first place, but quickly denied fighting the Elite Four, as her want to beat the league was more as a requirement to get accepted to Veritas's Battle Spire than for any glory or fame. She has also been highly experienced with Aloraichium-Z and Mega Gengar. (APPROVED BY STELLARWIND)

Personality: She‌ ‌has‌ ‌a‌ ‌few‌ ‌problems,‌ ‌but‌ ‌despite‌ ‌them,‌ ‌she‌ ‌keeps‌ ‌a‌ ‌positive‌ ‌attitude‌ ‌and‌ ‌puts‌ ‌on‌ ‌a‌ ‌smile.‌ ‌She‌ ‌does‌ ‌have‌ ‌some‌ ‌anxiety‌ ‌and‌ ‌paranoia‌ ‌plaguing‌ ‌her,‌ ‌and‌ ‌her‌ ‌constant‌ ‌chronic‌ ‌insomnia‌ ‌and‌ ‌night‌ ‌terrors‌ ‌make‌ ‌it‌ ‌difficult‌ ‌for‌ ‌her‌ ‌to‌ ‌sleep.‌ ‌She‌ ‌can‌ ‌be‌ ‌a‌ ‌bit‌ ‌snippy‌ ‌if‌ ‌she‌ ‌didn't‌ ‌have‌ ‌enough‌ ‌sleep‌ ‌to‌ ‌begin‌ ‌with,‌ ‌but‌ ‌will‌ ‌try‌ ‌to‌ ‌keep‌ ‌her‌ ‌emotions‌ ‌in‌ ‌check.‌ ‌She‌ ‌doesn't‌ ‌like‌ ‌talking‌ ‌about‌ ‌herself‌ ‌because‌ ‌she‌ ‌feels‌ ‌wrongly‌ ‌vain‌ ‌when‌ ‌she‌ ‌does.‌ ‌She‌ ‌also‌ ‌lacks‌ ‌morals,‌ ‌so‌ ‌she‌ ‌uses‌ ‌her‌ ‌sibling's‌ ‌moral‌ ‌compass‌ ‌when‌ ‌they‌ ‌are‌ ‌around‌ ‌to‌ ‌guide‌ ‌herself.‌ ‌She‌ ‌also‌ ‌has‌ ‌this‌ ‌snobbish,‌ ‌know-it-all‌ ‌attitude‌ ‌when‌ ‌she‌ ‌talks‌ ‌to‌ ‌people‌ ‌who‌ ‌are‌ ‌older‌ ‌and‌ ‌don't‌ ‌know‌ ‌as‌ ‌much‌ ‌about‌ ‌Pokémon‌ ‌as‌ ‌she‌ ‌does.‌ ‌She‌ ‌may‌ ‌sometimes‌ ‌do‌ ‌this‌ ‌to‌ ‌anybody‌ ‌who‌ ‌doesn't‌ ‌know‌ ‌something‌ ‌that‌ ‌she‌ ‌considers‌ ‌common‌ ‌sense‌ ‌or‌ ‌common‌ ‌knowledge.‌ ‌She‌ ‌also‌ ‌forgets‌ ‌to‌ ‌take‌ ‌care‌ ‌of‌ ‌herself‌ ‌on‌ ‌occasion,‌ ‌especially‌ ‌during‌ ‌her‌ ‌research.‌ ‌

Battle Style: She goes by what her Pokemon want. What battle style they preferred. Of course, they are nothing short from brutal, they have their own way of showcasing this.

Background:
She‌ ‌was‌ ‌born‌ ‌in‌ ‌Cocona‌ ‌Village,‌ ‌Oblivia,‌ ‌along‌ ‌with‌ ‌her‌ ‌three‌ ‌brothers‌ ‌before‌ ‌her.‌ ‌She‌ ‌is‌ ‌the‌ ‌last‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌quadruplet‌ ‌in‌ ‌her‌ ‌family‌ ‌and,‌ ‌as‌ ‌such,‌ ‌was‌ ‌treated‌ ‌as‌ ‌the‌ ‌baby‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌group‌ ‌until‌ ‌her‌ ‌twin‌ ‌sisters‌ ‌and‌ ‌her‌ ‌baby‌ ‌brother‌ ‌were‌ ‌born‌ ‌after‌ ‌her‌ ‌as‌ ‌her‌ ‌parents‌ ‌were‌ ‌traveling‌ ‌through‌ ‌the‌ ‌less‌ ‌known‌ ‌regions.‌ ‌During‌ ‌this‌ ‌time,‌ ‌Shade’s‌ ‌mother’s‌ ‌Alolan‌ ‌Raichu‌ ‌also‌ ‌gave‌ ‌birth‌ ‌to‌ ‌Chu,‌ ‌and‌ ‌she‌ ‌was‌ ‌born‌ ‌at‌ ‌the‌ ‌same‌ ‌time‌ ‌as‌ ‌Shade’s‌ ‌birth.‌ ‌Shade‌ ‌and‌ ‌Chu‌ ‌became‌ ‌quick‌ ‌friends,‌ ‌as‌ ‌they‌ ‌were‌ ‌destined‌ ‌to‌ ‌be‌ ‌together.‌

When‌ ‌Pyros,‌ ‌Miel,‌ ‌Stror,‌ ‌and‌ ‌Shade‌ ‌hit‌ ‌11,‌ ‌they‌ ‌were‌ ‌sent‌ ‌off‌ ‌to‌ ‌make‌ ‌friends‌ ‌and‌ ‌possibly‌ ‌learn‌ ‌anymore‌ ‌that‌ ‌Lyria‌ ‌might‌ ‌have‌ ‌missed.‌ ‌They‌ ‌were‌ ‌sent‌ ‌to‌ ‌a‌ ‌public‌ ‌school‌ ‌in‌ ‌Kanto,‌ ‌which‌ ‌they‌ ‌excelled‌ ‌at‌ ‌academically.‌ ‌They‌ ‌graduated‌ ‌early‌ ‌and‌ ‌had‌ ‌ample‌ ‌time‌ ‌to‌ ‌explore‌ ‌the‌ ‌Region‌ ‌they‌ ‌were‌ ‌in‌ ‌before‌ ‌they‌ ‌returned‌ ‌home…‌ ‌Only‌ ‌to‌ ‌go‌ ‌to‌ ‌the‌ ‌next‌ ‌school.‌ ‌They‌ ‌went‌ ‌to‌ ‌a‌ ‌public‌ ‌school‌ ‌in‌ ‌Johto‌ ‌when‌ ‌they‌ ‌were‌ ‌12,‌ ‌then‌ ‌Hoenn‌ ‌when‌ ‌they‌ ‌were‌ ‌13,‌ ‌Sinnoh‌ ‌when‌ ‌they‌ ‌were‌ ‌14,‌ ‌Unova‌ ‌when‌ ‌they‌ ‌were‌ ‌15,‌ ‌Kalos‌ ‌when‌ ‌they‌ ‌were‌ ‌16,‌ ‌and‌ ‌Alola‌ ‌when‌ ‌they‌ ‌were‌ ‌17.‌ ‌Each‌ ‌time,‌ ‌she‌ ‌graduated‌ ‌early‌ ‌and‌ ‌began‌ ‌to‌ ‌explore‌ ‌the‌ ‌region‌ ‌with‌ ‌her‌ ‌brothers,‌ ‌as‌ ‌they‌ ‌too,‌ ‌excelled‌ ‌with‌ ‌flying‌ ‌colors.‌ ‌

When‌ ‌she‌ ‌was‌ ‌18,‌ ‌she‌ ‌returned‌ ‌to‌ ‌Alola‌ ‌to‌ ‌complete‌ ‌the‌ ‌Island‌ ‌Challenge‌ ‌before‌ ‌she‌ ‌grew‌ ‌too‌ ‌old‌ ‌to‌ ‌do‌ ‌it.‌ ‌She‌ ‌completed‌ ‌it‌ ‌in‌ ‌a‌ ‌little‌ ‌over‌ ‌half‌ ‌a‌ ‌year‌ ‌as‌ ‌she‌ ‌was‌ ‌quite‌ ‌knowledgeable‌ ‌about‌ ‌the‌ ‌region‌ ‌she‌ ‌had‌ ‌recently‌ ‌explored‌ ‌in.‌ ‌After‌ ‌her‌ ‌Island‌ ‌Challenge,‌ ‌she‌ ‌went‌ ‌on‌ ‌more‌ ‌journeys‌ ‌collecting‌ ‌Gym‌ ‌Badges,‌ ‌Contest‌ ‌Ribbons,‌ ‌Princess‌ ‌Keys,‌ ‌and‌ ‌the‌ ‌Psychic-,‌ ‌Ghost-,‌ ‌and‌ ‌Dark-Type‌ ‌Pokémon‌ ‌as‌ ‌she‌ ‌could‌ ‌while‌ ‌also‌ ‌taking‌ ‌online‌ ‌college‌ ‌courses‌ ‌for‌ ‌psychology.‌ ‌Due to accomplishing feats and garnering a practical rich boy stalker, who thought impressing her with an expensive and rare gift was a good idea, she obtained a Gengarite and promptly left the boy before he had a chance to express his feelings for her. By‌ ‌the‌ ‌time‌ ‌she‌ ‌was‌ ‌27,‌ ‌she‌ ‌began‌ ‌to‌ ‌take‌ ‌on-campus‌ ‌college‌ ‌classes‌ ‌for‌ ‌biology‌ ‌and‌ ‌genetics‌ ‌while‌ ‌she‌ ‌was‌ ‌in‌ ‌Kalos.‌ ‌She‌ ‌sped‌ ‌through‌ ‌these‌ ‌courses‌ ‌with‌ ‌flying‌ ‌colors‌ ‌and‌ ‌she‌ ‌soon‌ ‌became‌ ‌a‌ ‌researcher‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌field‌ ‌of‌ ‌genetics‌ ‌not‌ ‌long‌ ‌after.‌ ‌Due to her accomplishments in academics, she received a Key Stone from her parents, to which she put to good use as she began training her Gengar everyday. She‌ ‌began‌ ‌her‌ ‌experiments‌ ‌in‌ ‌her‌ ‌parent’s‌ ‌basement‌ ‌with‌ ‌DNA‌ ‌before‌ ‌graduating‌ ‌to‌ ‌a‌ ‌laboratory‌ ‌she‌ ‌now‌ ‌owns‌ ‌in‌ ‌Kanto‌ ‌on‌ ‌Cinnabar‌ ‌Island.‌ ‌She‌ ‌travels‌ ‌a‌ ‌lot‌ ‌though,‌ ‌so‌ ‌she‌ ‌is‌ ‌hardly‌ ‌there‌ ‌anymore.‌ ‌

Due‌ ‌to‌ ‌her‌ ‌excellent‌ ‌knowledge‌ ‌in‌ ‌many‌ ‌kinds‌ ‌of‌ ‌Pokémon-related‌ ‌topics,‌ ‌she‌ ‌is‌ ‌soon‌ ‌going‌ ‌to‌ ‌start‌ ‌her‌ ‌college‌ ‌courses‌ ‌to‌ ‌further‌ ‌her‌ ‌knowledge‌ ‌and‌ ‌become‌ ‌a‌ ‌Pokémon‌ ‌Professor.‌

Quite recently, she was quite interested in being a Battle Master at the Spire. She, of course, went there throughout the year when she was 29 and showed off her prowess and her Mega Evolution as she took breaks from her research. Because of her intense and brutal Pokemon techniques and fitting with the battle style of each of her Pokemon, she was accepted as a Battle Master.

Name: Chu
Species: Alolan Raichu
Gender: Female
Personality: Chu is quite the silly little mouse. Adorable, cuddly, and curious, most people wouldn't think that she would fight so ferociously in a battle. She likes to combine both her physical and special attacks into amazing combinations and uses her speed to confound enemies before letting loose combinations of moves she has been practicing for years.
Ability: Surge Surfer - Doubles speed when under the effects of Electric Terrain.
Held Item: Electric Seed - In a satchel around her neck. Once Electric Terrain is active, the seeds will activate and coat her in defensive electricity, boosting her physical defenses. OR Aloraichium-Z - With the power of Thunderbolt awakened by the dance, Chu can unleash Stoked Sparksurfer.
History: Being born at the same time as Shade, they were destined to be together. They have been inseparable since and have been through thick and thin with one another. She had learned many techniques that most people don't remember the Pichu line ever learning in the first place and this gives her an edge in battle as she has been trained to fight using every part of her body. She was trained so extensively that her electrical cheek pouches wouldn't startle her into fits of crying or hurt her. When she evolved nearly 25 years after her birth into a Pikachu, she had to train herself how to use this new body before she evolved into an Alolan Raichu 3 years later. Now, she is an exceptional partner to Shade and has quite the experience on her resume, as well as being smart enough with what moves to use against certain Pokemon and knowing how to use a vast majority of moves due to her constant training with many different kinds of species. The only Pokemon who is on par with her is Shade's Gengar without Mega evolving. She has also helped Shade in her research, becoming a cuddly friend to most skittish wild Pokemon that Shade needs for her research. When she evolved into an Alolan Raichu, she also gained the ability to telepathize pictures and simple phrases to Shade, but never full blown sentences.

Name: Gar
Species: Gengar
Gender: Male
Personality: As a normal Gengar, he is quite fatherly and lovable, if not a little mischievous, towards his trainer. He loves to help her out and he feels better when he is able to console her from a nightmare by eating her nightmares with Dream Eater or just holding her when she is having a mental breakdown due to lack of sleep. During a battle, he is nothing short of brutal and his mischievousness comes out full blast as he confounds his opponents with speed and ranged attacks. However, when he becomes a Mega Gengar, his sweet demeanor drastically changes. He becomes even more brutal, viewing his opponents like prey that need to be dealt with quickly rather than a fun rival he is sparring against. Due to this, the attacks he unleashes can send quite a few Pokemon to the hospital immediately if they underestimate his strength and Shade usually has to return him immediately before he tries to kill the poor things if he ever loses himself to the energy.
Ability: Cursed Body - When hit by an attack that makes physical contact, it has a chance to become disabled. | Shadow Tag - Due to the permanent 'Mean Look' from Mega Gengar's third eye, it prevents most Pokemon from switching out.
Held Item: Either a Spell Tag connected by an earring or a Gengarite around his body in a band. The Spell Tag increases the power of his Ghost-Type attacks while the Gengarite allows him to Mega Evolve.
History: As a Gastly, he was founded by Shade's mother, who had taken a liking to the creature. But she didn't catch him, as it was her sister who caught him. Of course, the sister didn't take good care of Gar, and he fled, taking his PokeBall with him. He came upon Shade's mother again and quickly became her partner, and an inseparable one at that. He had evolved shortly after into a Haunter, and then into a Gengar as she traded him over to Shade's father, who didn't even start dating her mother until a few years later. Gar was an exceptional beast at battling, and stood by Shade's father's side just as obediently as he had done for Shade's mother. When the two finally came together, married, and had children, Gar took a specific liking to Shade. He would make sure she was taken care of first before all her other siblings and loved to play with her and Chu as they grew. Their bond became much stronger than Gar's bond with Shade's parents and he became something of a fatherly bodyguard for her before she started off on her journey. She didn't bring him with until she was older, when she decided she wanted him with her to help her with her recurring nightmares and studies. This led them to become closer with one another again and she began using him in most of the battles she came across. He would even eat Shade's negative emotions to make his Dark Pulse stronger for one use, which benefited both trainer and Pokemon. When he was given the ability to Mega Evolve, he was all for it at first until he transformed. He felt he was losing himself and his sight of what mattered to him and he almost attacked his trainer, to whom he saw as his daughter. Heartbroken, it took some begging from Shade to go back to using Mega Evolution, but he was able to regain his ability to retain the memories he had held with his trainer to keep himself from going berserk. Of course, even now mega evolving is very difficult and taxing on him, as he would snap and go on a murderous rampage when stewing in the Mega Evolution energy for too long. He sometimes regrets training for this power boost, but until the time comes where he completely loses himself and attacks his own trainer, he will keep using this technique as it seems to make her happy.

Name: Schwartz
Species: Hydreigon
Gender: Male
Personality: True to his species, he is extremely brutal and only really listens to one person. Because of this, only Shade can really talk and even get near and take care of him without receiving injuries or a growl. In a battle, he attacks without discretion of his own safety. He begged Shade to wear the Life Orb so he could better smash and overwhelm his opponent's defenses in exchange for getting his strength sapped. Of course, getting hurt just enrages him more making him act more like a feral Pokemon hellbent on destroying the thing that is breathing or moving in front of it.
Ability: Levitate - Immune to Ground-Type attacks and the effects of terrain and Arena Trap, until he lands.
Held Item: Life Orb - A life-sucking orb in a necklace around his main head. It damages him in turn for a power boost.
History: Schwartz didn't used to be this brutal. As a Deino, he was the runt of his family, timid and scared of everything around him. Shade had gained his trust and nursed him back to health from a scuffle he had with older members of his species. Because of this, he followed Shade around like a lost puppy and became her partner in the Unova region. He evolved sometime later during her fight with Drayden in an official gym battle, his brutal personality budding as soon as he evolved. Shade had to calm him down by holding him down, as he refused to enter his PokeBall. After calming him down, he was able to focus throughout the rest of the battle. When he evolved next during a fight with Shade's brother's Charizard, both Shade and her brother had to struggle in holding Schwartz down. His brutal behavior and "kill-all" attitude endangered everyone involved and he almost killed the brother's Charizard. After calming down from the sudden powerful urge from the evolution, he lost his cute demeanor. He only ever listens to Shade, and very rarely her brother who had helped calm him down. He doesn't trust himself around anyone except for Shade because he has had the most experience with her and will growl at anyone who comes near him or her due to his protective nature and his brutalizing demeanor.

Name: Robin
Species: Decidueye
Gender: Male
Personality: The charmer of an owl, he has a sense of justice and loves to charm other female Pokemon, specifically other birds. This can be his downfall when he notices one nearby watching him, but other than that, he is extremely quick and powerful. He is incredibly accurate with his attacks and can see the opponent's weak spots easier than most due to his owl eyes.
Ability: Overgrow - Raises the power of Grass-Type moves when stamina is low.
Held Item: Zoom Lens - Raises Accuracy and is clipped around his head and situated over his right eye.
History: As a Rowlet, Robin was hiding out in Lush Jungle. He had been quite lonely and trying to find female bird Pokemon that liked him was difficult. It felt like nobody had seen his charm and he was going to get caught by a trainer when Shade appeared. Shade had been watching the poor guy try and fail for a few days of trying to find a mate and so she thought she'd help out. The trainer who wanted to capture the Rowlet had failed after the Rowlet showed exceptional skills with Leafage against a type they would normally have trouble against - Ice. When Robin saw Shade, he thought she was going to capture him like everybody else beforehand, but she was different. She knew his problem and attempted to help him. Of course, her ideas almost worked but it wasn't enough. Regardless, she earned a friend because she was nice enough to help Robin instead of trying to catch him. After he joined her team, he quickly evolved soon after. Of course, true to Dartrix's nature, he soon became vain and super irritated and flustered whenever his feathers got ruffled. This almost ended his ability to evolve because he couldn't train. Even Shade was getting a little frustrated, but she just steeled herself and helped to fix his appearance before and after every battle and made sure to train in his speed so he would be less likely to get hit. It took her awhile, but she managed to get Robin to use his irritation and put it to good use in a fight whenever he did get his feathers dirty. This also caused him to evolve one battle into Decidueye. Out of all the Pokemon on her usual fighting team, him and Schwartz have seen the most change during evolution.

Name: Zim
Species: Malamar
Gender: Male
Personality: He is a completely devious and cruel mastermind. Knowing full well what his ability allows him to do, he will use moves that would exhaust other Pokemon to power himself up and then sweep opposing teams. He doesn't need Shade's guidance and would prefer it if she doesn't barge in with her commands. Of course, letting him see through her eyes wouldn't hurt his pride, just as long as she doesn't yell out commands and tell him what to do. He can use his trainer's comprehension of the things happening out on the field to his advantage like a fully functioning hive mind. Outside of battle however, he is generally sweet, if not a little standoffish. He does love a good dry treat here and there and won't say no to a good battle of wits with other people and Pokemon.
Ability: Contrary - Any buffs or debuffs directed towards Zim are swapped.
Held Item: Safety Goggles - Strapped around his eyes, it protects him from weather-related damage from the likes of Sandstorm and Hail, as well as powder and spore moves. He sees the world in an orange tint, something he doesn't mind every so often.
History: As an Inkay, Zim was a pretty mischievous but timid Pokemon. He enjoyed pulling pranks on those who he deemed deserved it, until he met Shade. He thought she was weird and so that led to their first encounter of each other. Of course, because of the constant pranks from her Pokemon, Shade saw it coming a mile away and played the game to catch Zim off guard. Startled that his plan didn't work, he ran off, but kept a close eye on her for quite some time. After following her around for a week, he finally decided that she was worthy enough to have him, and so he joined her on her team. While he was with her, he grew in confidence and stopped being so afraid, and being included in a Performance for a Princess Key allowed him to really grow. He evolved shortly after, a dream he had but never thought he could achieve because he didn't actually think he was worthy enough for it. Seeing that he was changed by Shade, he felt an immense respect for her. However, his pride does get in the way at times, making the two butt heads as they both are great strategists in battle and they don't want to compromise at times. After some time struggling and coming to terms with each other, Shade agreed to allow Zim complete and total control on the field, just as long as Zim allows her to fill him in on the Pokemon he is facing against via her mind.

Name: Princess
Species: Jellicent
Gender: Female
Personality: A very bubbly and outgoing personality, Princess is a hugger, if not also a little vain and sassy at times. The epitome of a true princess spirit, she can be a little full of herself and enjoys parties way more than the average human might. In battle, she requires a little bit of guidance from her trainer, but only needs a few key words to help get her started. Once she's all warmed up, she doesn't need any help unless she needs some unorthodox guidance that only Shade's human brain can help with. She finds humans adorable and views them as pets, including her trainer. If she hugs people and Pokemon, don't be afraid. Just as long as you aren't over a deep body of water or on a boat, her instincts won't try and take you down with her.
Ability: Damp - Prevents explosions and damage from Aftermath.
Held Item: Nothing OR Ghostium-Z - Allows her to use the power of any Ghost-Type attack she knows for Never-Ending Nightmare or have any additional effects for any Ghost-Type Status move she knows.
History: As a Frillish, she was quite a sad and lonely individual. She was still vain as she is now, but only to a certain degree, as her slight depression either nullified this behavior or made it ten times worse. Of course, after battling Shade's Chu as a Pichu at the time when she tried to take Chu for how cute and adorable she was, she was amazed at the amount of power and bond they both shared. She wanted to experience that and became almost jealous and envious of Chu. She began stalking Shade throughout the Unova region and even followed her all the way to the Kanto region, where she was finally caught. Her and Chu had an intense rivalry with one another as Princess tried to find herself, but it was ultimately Chu who helped her with this. After one sparring match, Princess had evolved and realized that she already had what she wanted, but she still fought for something she thought she still needed to fight for. Of course, she only realized this when she almost drowned Chu in a deep body of water right after Princess evolved. Realizing her mistake, she apologized to Chu profusely and became a better part of Shade's team, almost idolizing Shade at times.

Name: Doom
Species: Houndoom
Gender: Male
Personality: Doom can be pretty serious when he is around anyone but Shade, to whom he can be as sweet as a little Lillipup and as protective as an Arcanine. He has a very gentle demeanor when he doesn't feel threatened, but can overwhelm foes with his flaming brutality. He doesn't exactly care if he causes burns that last forever on a target, but he tries not to as he doesn't want to make Shade feel bad. He is a very mixed fighter, and rarely uses Status moves.
Ability: Flash Fire - When hit by Fire-Type moves, it raises his physical damage as it bolsters his muscles.
Held Item: Nothing OR Darkinium-Z - Allows him to use Black Hole Eclipse with any Dark-Type attack he knows or use a variety effects with any Dark-Type Status move he knows.
History: As a Houndour, he was the heir to a pack of Houndour and Houndoom living near Mt. Moon. Shade had gotten too close to their pack and Doom was told to protect his pack and chase her off, or do worse things if she stayed and threatened their safety. Shade knowing what these packs were like due to books detailing their behaviors, began to use the body language of the Houndour. Doom was incredibly confused, but still had to do his duty, up until the leader of the pack came around to realize that the human before them was very different from the others. Testing her a couple of times, Doom's father warily tested her fighting skills against Doom, who agreed to fight her. Chu defeated Doom quite easily. Seeing that Doom could learn something from her, Doom's father sent Doom with Shade to train and come back as the leader to his pack. Reluctantly complying, he went with Shade and came back to his pack a few years later as a Houndoom. Of course, it has been awhile, his father was too old to continue to lead, and another Houndoom had taken over - a rival from a different pack. Determined to take his pack back, Shade trained him how to fight without her guidance and set him off against the pack leader. After a good and hard tussle, Doom won leadership of his pack. Shade then left Doom to keep protecting his pack and allowed the pack to live near her ranch, granted they don't try and eat any of the ranch's Pokemon. Agreeing, Doom now lives there peacefully with his pack, and agreeing to go with Shade when she asks while his mate and kids take over the leader's duties while he's gone.

Name: Mitosis
Species: Reuniclus
Gender: Female
Personality: A scientific and intelligent blob of enlarged cells, Mitosis loves and practically breathes science as she enjoys helping Shade out with her research. Mitosis will take any chance she can get helping Shade out with her scientific research, even if it means neglecting her health, to which Shade despises but she can't exactly complain as she does it, as well. During battle, she uses her tough body and calculating mind to see what could possibly happen and make a split second plan of action to counter it. She knows she isn't the fastest thing on the planet, but just as long as she can foresee it before it happens, she can win the battle or at least prep it for the next Pokemon.
Ability: Magic Guard - Only takes damage from direct damage, not damage from weather or status conditions.
Held Item: Nothing OR Psychium-Z - Allows her to use Shattered Psyche with any Psychic-Type attack she knows or use a variety effects with any Psychic-Type Status move she knows.
History: As a Solosis, she was quite the shy and quirky one. She loved to tumble about in her squishy ball and seemed very interested in life all around her. Shade had found her doing just that, completely oblivious to anything human-like around her. Opting to watch the little Solosis after awhile of contemplating whether or not to catch her as a surprise, Shade couldn't help but feel more and more attached to this adorable little ball full of curiosity. Mitosis realized Shade had been watching her and his away before realizing that Shade meant no harm. Still skittish and finding the fact that Shade had been watching her for who knows how long a little creepy, she realized that was what she was doing whenever she ran across something interesting. Shade then made an offer to allow Mitosis to travel with her and see and understand many amazing things. After contemplating it over, she decided to accept the deal if Shade could catch her. With Mitosis using Rollout to get away and using Psychic to slow her down with obstacles, Shade still caught her and Mitosis kept her end of the bargain. As she evolved, she grew more and more interested in life around her, and soon finding a passion for genetics and microbiological life like her trainer. Since her evolution into a Reuniclus, she has helped Shade with gathering material and taking care of Pokemon and her testing materials in exchange for finding the secret to life along with her trainer.

I will include the Pokemon info later when I have time :3

Oh forgot about LESGO

Question: what would the others think of my character? As in staff and all that? Her reputation isn't that important but it is so I can better see what would happen if staff talked to her.

She can be kind of a recluse but would enjoy good conversations with intellectual people.

If staff talks to her, it would be more or less just informing her that there is a challenger for her, if there is one. Other instances of communication will also be more of an informative nature such as scheduled events that she NEEDS to attend, which are fairly rare three major ones include opening ceremony, closing ceremony, and the induction of a new Spire Master.

The staff will try to accommodate to who ever they are talking to as long as whoever they are talking to informs them on what to inform them on (I think that wording makes sense?). Given the nature of the people at the Spire, there are bound to be some that are stranger or slightly more difficult to accommodate for but they try their best.

Generally speaking most of the staff are quite smart and can act as a source of valuable information on battle tactics, strategies, and most importantly for Battlemasters and Participants is information on other Battlemasters and the Spire Masters. The staff generally watch just about every major battle since Battle Master challenges are broadcasted on the island same with Spire Master challenges, and they hang around these people quite a lot, to an extent they understand them and their Pokemon to a relatively high degree, enough that they sometimes tend to their Pokemon.

It is not considered cheating or looked down upon to do to turn to the Battle Spire staff for information, its one of the reasons why they are around, they're easier to get a hold of than a Battlemaster or any of the Spire Masters, which are also sources of information that anyone on the island can just go up to talk to given that they can get a hold of em.

More than likely she will have more contact with the challengers, other Battlemastes and sometimes the Spire Masters. I'm fairly sure that she will be quite interested in the Spire Masters and their Pokemon. From a scientific point of view, the Spire Master's bond, their ability and the unique ways they command their Pokemon, and the Pokemon themselves are quite extraordinary.

Hope this answers your question @Merciless Medic, if not then could you reiterate? I don't mind answering questions :)

If this is the same Shade from the Master Tournament then Ajax would definitely come up and talk to her.

Due to the reputation of these individuals away from Veritas Island , and on the island. All the Spire Masters know do know eachother very well. It's not uncommon for them to battle among eachother for various reasons including testing out techniques, satiating rivalries, or friendly competition.

It's also not uncommon for Spire Masters to be friends with, or mentoring some of the Battlemasters. Heck some maybe even travel together to train during off seasons.

What I'm getting at is everyone kinda knows everyone to varying degrees, at the minimum seen them on TV or encountered them during some league or travel. Competing at the highest levels, your guaranteed to run into the same faces over and over, and even if there is a new face, and if they are any good and, wants to, or does competitive battling for a living, they pretty much join the pack of people.

Speaking of Which if anyone would like to be mentored by Ajax, let me know and we'll organise a way for this to come about.

Ah, if that is the case, then Shade will be all over that information. Because she's such a nice person, she allows these staff members to take care of her Pokemon for her while she's busy gathering Intel about the participants, Battle Masters, and Spire Masters. This allows others to know as much information about her as much as the information she's getting about others. She is relatively easy to meet the needs of, just as long as her Pokemon follow the natural diet of their species out in the wild (like her Houndoom eating raw meat that's not tofu or a meat substitute) and just as long as her questions about others were answered (doesn't matter how well they were answered). She would also likely attend most, if not all battles held by Battle and Spire Masters to better learn how they fight. She has a mental catalogue of how they fight and the kinds of Pokemon they use.

As for Ajax, she'll definitely start talking to him, especially if he initiates conversation first. She is always wanting to converse with others who are at her skill level or above and tries to be nice to others. Sometimes she may be snippy, but she will then quickly apologize and go back to being happy-go-lucky, if not a little weird. XD

She has this weird "want" to be just a little bit more famous than average. She is exceptional in her field of study, but hardly anyone who isn't in the science/genetics field would ever had heard of her, and even then most people in that field don't know her all that well. Her being a Battle Master and her deliberately allowing others to find her and talk to her and learn more from her and about her is her way of getting famous, as it takes a long while to get famous in a scientific field unless you found a great discovery instead of just elaborating how things work, like her field research on Pokerus.

Actualllyyy,

although a 14 yr old E4 is cough weird or awkward, that’s what Luna is (since he’s normally 14 in the role plays I do).

and I think everyone forgot Acerola, which is the first thing I thought of when I saw this.
She is around 11-19, which I’m going on by Bulbapedia. So I think it’s ok that their character is an E4 that’s 14. Although in this RP it’s recommend to have them 16+ xd

cough

Well it’s fine for characters to have fluctuating ages from RP to RP, my characters do.

Also Acerola I think is a bit of a special case since it was the Alolan E4 and since it was literally brand new and due to lack of high level trainers they just had the island Kahunas pretty much full the role least that’s what I think happened, perhaps they mentioned something like that in the original Sun and Moon games? The Sinnoh League however is an established league with many more travelers and trainers going through there getting into it as 14 year old I would assume to be very very difficult. Either way the change from a 14 to 16 year old shouldn’t really be that big of a deal for a character.

In my opinion, I’d say it’s possible for a 14 year old to be a E4 leader. The reasons why mainly pertain to Acerola, which you deducted and so it’s an invalid argument on my part, but also to the league system itself. If the Gyms are linked to the League, then it’s not Farfetched to say that the E4 couldn’t be children, considering many Gym Leaders are. I think it’s something that just kinda slipped GameFreaks mind. But either way, if you won’t allow a child Elite Four, I’m not against it. This is not my RP, and you have the right to the rules.

For me, an Elite Four member is way above the pay grade of any normal trainer. Hell, even most Gym Leaders struggle against the first of four of the members, and I'm not even going to go into Champions.

You would have to have immense amount of experience for something like that. I don't like the games, as they don't portray this properly (especially when a 10-year-old can catch Legendaries, get Mega Stones and Key Stones super easily, among other things), and the anime kind of shows this better, but not as realistically as they should. They need butt tons of experience, and I am meaning years and years of experience to get to the level of even competing against the Elite Four, much less be one.

As for Acerola, yes, she is young and an Elite Four member, but that was because the league was new and they needed people to fill the roles (hell, they needed a champion and Professor Kukui became the league's first champion to fill the role). So of course, young'uns will be Elite Four members in the Alola League. Every other league has people who are at least older than 21 or look the part because it took them literal years to get themselves to that point. Some people are only there because of their affiliations with big name companies or crime syndicates that helped strengthen their team and basically paid the league to allow these guys in.

So a 14-year-old would only be viable, in my eyes, if the league was new and they needed people, or they were in a position through familial affiliations and they worked their Pokemon practically almost to death and fried their own brains learning about tactics and strategies that allowed them to get to that point. But if Acerola is 11-19 years of age, whose to say that she isn't at least 15 or 16 anyway?

And that's my passionate two-cents out of the way. XD

“Welp, that was idiotic. Off to hang myself! Watch and lear- *Ded*” -Spy, from a rather popular SFM video.

All reasons are valid for all sides , it’s just interesting to see so many different opinions on simple stuff like this, especially when we don’t actually fully know how the league system works in or out of the games.

(Don’t get the wrong idea from the first part, I just feel like @Merciless Medic described her stance a lot better than I did)

Aside from battle competency, wouldn't it make sense for the Elite Four to carry some responsibilities other than staying in their rooms and fighting whatever schmucks challenge them? Gym leaders have been shown, even in the games, to hold a special position in their towns (Drayden is mayor, Cheren runs a school, etc.). Champions also are called upon to solve larger-scale problems with the region - if a 10-year-old isn't on it already - so perhaps the Elite Four fill a more advisory role? A fourteen-year-old might not be considered responsible enough for such a weighty position.

@itsgarrett_31

@Merciless Medic

Sweet ok thanks will do

Well, you didn't go by the actual form like everyone else did and you need more info for your Pokemon. There are required sections for you to fill out. You didn't fill out all of them and missed a word.

Sorry if I'm stepping on your toes, Foxex, but I had to XD

“English is scaring me” is not the correct way to say what you were trying to say. In this case, it would be “English scares me, but who am I to say that?” I’m sorry for correcting you, I’m just somewhat of a grammar stickler...

@blader484 Yea, Mercilees Medic nailed it on the head as to what you need to do

@soxterluna
1. Waiting on 1 or 2 more people before we start, i know that @EllieBeth is working on their character, so hopefully whenever that gets posted I'll prob start. Hopefully more people join in as we go along.

2. So since this is not a League or a tournament there is no brackets as to who battles who. For the participants, it's mainly going to be them challenging other participants, which can be other RPers if the story progresses that way, or similar to the Battle Tower, where you request to challenge someone, and a random trainer from the Spire will be paired up against you as your opponent, which will be just some NPC, probably controlled by me. Once you get enough Glory or Prestige points then you can challenge a Battlemaster or Spire Master as the opening post suggests, there will be more details about that process once the RP starts.

I'll be adding a few more characters into Battle Masters and Spire Masters slots as well to pad out some NPCs before we start as well as the participant character I'll mainly be RPing as as well

If signups are still open....
Position: Participant
Name: Max Hansen
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Height: 5'8
Weight: 121 lbs
Hair Color: Striking black hair with an erratic streak of green. (Max tried playing tag with a Smeargle when he was just a kid and was hit by its paint soaked tail. To this day, he still doesn't know how to wash the paint off his hair.)
Build: Not exactly slim but not plump either. Somewhere in between.
Eye Color: Dark brown
Birthplace: Olivine City, Johto.
First Pokemon: Purrloin (Now Liepard)
Occupation: Electrician, Substitute Gym Leader for the Olivine Gym (For when Jasmine goes to Sinnoh to take part in Contest Spectaculars)
Affiliations: Substitute Gym Leader for the Olivine Gym, One of the only competent electricians in all of Olivine City (most good electricians find jobs at Goldenrod, but Max chose to stay in Olivine)
Likes: Daydreaming, Spending hours on end coming up with weird battle strategies, Doughnuts
Dislikes: People who rush things, Jumpscares, Bagels
Fears: His greatest fear is being alone, without his Pokemon
Clothing: Max always wears his dusty gray jacket along with a pair of old blue jeans. He also wears a pair of worn down sneakers. He rarely bothers buying new clothes because of his "I'll do it tomorrow" mindset.
Badges: All badges in Johto and Hoenn
Acheivements: Was offered a position at the Johto Elite 4, but turned it down because he thought it was too much work. He has acquired 16 badges between the Johto and Hoenn regions and has consistently placed high in regional tournaments.
Personality: Max is very clever, but equally absent-minded. He's constantly lost in thought, usually planning creative ways to apply his Pokemon's movesets or thinking about food. Sometimes both. Max is easily startled and hates being scared.
Battle Style: Max's battle style focuses on throwing the opponent off guard with unusual strategies and movesets and that are hard to predict and counter.

Species: Liepard
Gender: Male
Personality: Liepard is Max's partner Pokemon. It is very crafty and mischievous, often stealing Max's items from his bag and hiding them. In battle, it will try to trip up the opponent with its sneaky moves.
Ability: Prankster

Species: Metagross
Gender: N/A
Personality: Metagross is one of Max's main powerhouses and a staple to the team. Metagross mostly keeps to itself and doesn't interact with Max's other Pokemon. Metagross is very solitary and it thinks it's right, it will act on its own accord without Max's word
Ability: Clear Body

Species: Ampharos (Nickname: Ampha)
Gender: Female
Personality: Ampha was originally caught by Jasmine to power the lighthouse after her and her other Ampharos, Amphy, went to Sinnoh to participate in contests. Jasmine later decided to leave Ampha with Max upon returning to Johto. Ampha is very helpful and hard working. When she isn't powering the lighthouse, she's helping Max with his job as an electrician.
Ability: Static

Species: Gyarados
Gender: Male
Personality: Gyarados is a very fierce Pokemon with a temper worse than Max's attention span. Max's Gyarados tends to get in full-blown brawls over very minuscule problems. For example, one time, it almost blew a hole through an airplane because it was too loud.
Ability: Intimidate

Species: Salazzle
Gender: Female
Personality: Salazzle is a very careful and strategic Pokemon. Unlike Gyarados, Salazzle only picks fights it's sure it can win. Salazzle rarely attacks head-on and prefers to keep at a distance with a powerful combination of scorching flames and deadly poisons.
Ability: Corrosion

Species: Flygon
Gender: Male
Personality: Flygon is a very loyal and kind-hearted Pokemon. Flygon often goes out on its own to collect berries for its teammates and will never hesitate to help a Pokemon in need of assistance. Despite its friendly demeanor, Flygon is still very well-trained and can hold its own in battle if needed.
Ability: Levitate

Background: Born in Olivine City, Max grew up with Pokemon all around him. During his first year at Pokemon School, he met Purrloin, who at the time, was hiding in a vending machine waiting to pounce on people who used it. The two soon became good friends and quickly rose to the top of the Olivine Trainer School with the combination of Purrloin's dexterity and Max's strategic thinking.

The headmaster of the school was very impressed with Max and Purrloin and recommended them to take on the gym challenge. Max reluctantly took on the challenge ("Sounds like too much work") and after 1 long year, finally collected all the badges. After this, he was automatically registered in the Indigo League Tournament. Max climbed all the way to finals where he and Purrloin faced off against a formidable trainer named Tris and his Kommo-o. Despite their valiant effort, the two were at a huge power and type disadvantage and could not bring down the mighty dragon.

Max wanted to find an actual job, but Purrloin's pride would not accept such defeat. Unable to refuse his partner, Max traveled to Hoenn, where Tris was headed to take on the league and took on the gym challenge there. Max defeated all the gym leaders in Hoenn with little difficulty (Norman and his Slaking being the big exception). After defeating the fire type gym leader Flannery, Purrloin unleashed a surge of power and evolved into Liepard. During the Hoenn League, he saw himself against Tris and Kommo-o in the finals once more. Again, it was down to Liepard and Kommo-o. The battle was close, but Liepard managed to snag the victory with a well-timed aerial ace.

Upon returning to Johto, Max received an email from the official Pokemon League asking him to be a member of the Elite 4 (Koga, after losing to some prodigy 10 year old, stormed off, unable to show his face in shame). Max turned down the offer because it seemed way too big of a responsibility. Instead, he went back to Olivine to become an electrician. Occasionally, he gets called to be the gym leader when Jasmine is in Sinnoh participating in concerts.

Position: BattleMaster
Name: Emily Jane Wilder
Title(s): Kalos Queen, Kalos Champion
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Height: 5’2
Hair Color: Blonde flowing hair, occasionally woven with colored extensions
Build: Very Slim with a slight hourglass figure.
Eye color: Emerald Green eyes
Birthplace: Lumiose City
First Pokémon (Optional): Usagi the Lopunny (Mega pending)
Occupation (Optional): Kalos Champion, Pokemon Performer and Contest Star
Affiliations: Kalos Queen circuit,
Likes: Performing, Partying and working out
Dislikes: Silence, overly serious people and laziness
Fears: Bug types as well as being petrified of being forgotten.
Clothing/ Accessories/ Appearance: Emily’s Outfit selection spans an extensive range of styles and options. With the Battle master changing outfits more regularly than a castform watching the weather trio. Though her outfit is always changing, her hair is more often than not left flowing free down her back and cascading over her shoulders in loose waves. Around her neck hangs a snowflake pendant (which may contain a keystone depending upon the application result). Emily’s nails are matic
Badges (Required): All Badges in Hoenn, Sinnoh and Kalos, 15 Contest Ribbons, 7 Princess Keys.
Achievements: Reigning Kalos Queen and Champion.

Personality: Bubbly, flirtatious, and extremely personable. Emily is very much a social butterfly, always hosting events and appearing at high society events. Despite this and her wealthy upbringing she isn’t big headed or stuck up, instead focusing upon the equality of every person she meets.

Battle Style:
Emily’s Battling style consists of a performative mixture of style, skill and battling prowess. Similar to a Contest Battle, Emily’s Pokemon are always in motion and actively working to show off their artistic flourishes. This is only further intensified by the addition of a Contest battle meter to all her battles, with trainers being rewarded for creativity and strategy or penalized for unoriginality and sloppy battling skills.

Background: The only child of a pair of wealthy elite trainers, Emily was spoiled beyond compare having her entire life planned out for her at birth. It was her over-zealous ex-coordinator Mother who forced her into contests and Showcases across the Sinnoh and Kalos Regions from the age of 10, the intense pressure of trying to live up to her mother’s perfect expectations of her and her performances. Regardless of the pressure Emily enjoyed the contests enough to continue with the excessive training routines and choreography. Earning her first contest win at the age of 13 before going on to win the Sinnoh Grand Festival at 15. All while secretly challenging gyms along the way. From Sinnoh Emily made the move to Hoenn, given the regions greater emphasis and fan base for Pokémon Contests, despite her supposed expertise gained in Sinnoh the Hoenn Contest Circuit, and Pokemon League, proved to be an entirely new level of competition. Emily had gone from the Best Coordinator and a top level trainer in the Region, to struggling to even place in most contests and barely scraping through her gym battles. It was another 3 years before Emily would even Qualify for a Grand Festival or Pokemon League and another 2 before she would finally win the events. Taking down Contest Superstar Wallace in two of the most hard-fought battles in the events history. It was at this point that Emily finally made her return to Kalos, breezing her way through the league and showcases to qualify for both the Kalos League and Masterclass in the same year. Though once again she knuckles down and worked her way all the way to the top, having to oppose Diantha and the Reigning Kalos Queen in the space of a single month. After winning both events she was approached by recruiters of the Battle Spire to join the facility’s staff, though she was initially insulted she was only offered a place as a Battle Master as opposed to a Spire master, vowing to work her way up to the accolade as a hearty F’U to the staff who had undervalued her abilities
