Private/Closed Tales of Ender Eye (Fairy Tail RP)

~~~~~Ender Eye & Lamia Scale~~~~~
Brendan winced as he just jumped back before he slammed into the volcanic wall as the Heavenly Body Mage moved to regroup. Though it seemed the other members of the Guild had their own issues so he needed to defeat his opponent and quickly. Quickly a magic circle formed around him as nine swords of light were produced. "Jiu Leixing!" The swords fired as Brendan hoped he could attack this guy with multiple blows and knock him away in one shot.
The Gravity Mage in turn, frowned as it seemed she and Elise had to deal with this dark dragon slayer. Zora quickly formed a message to Elise that given her guild could read sign language and most could not gave them what she figured was an edge in mid-battle communication. I'll pull him close and keep him stuck, you web him up.
Zora then produced her inaudible spell, as she produced a small sphere of gravity that began to pull her desired target towards it. In this case, Barry as she aimed to pull him and use the sphere to pin him to it so he'd be unable to move for enough time for Elise to follow up.
~~~~~Fairy Tail~~~~~
A series of swords would soon give away as a few opposing mages had been knocked aside. Soon enough the missing Requip mage made her presence known. Seems she had been searching for an exit while she trusted her Guild to handle matters here, and it seemed the eldest of the core team had done just that as she cleared a path for them to go through.

"Alright everyone, this way. Gray Nashi if I hear one more out of either of you an enemy mage is the last thing you will have to worry over." Janine said as she assumed command and led the way as she aimed to lead them through the clearing and hopefully the exit or a exit to the labyrinth had been within reach.

~~~~~Mermaid Heel~~~~~
Freya overheard Adrianna as she led the charge and the Fairy mage was quick to follow on her magical wings as she glanced back at Aria and Hermione. "Come on girls, we gotta get moving!"
~~~~~Blue Pegasus~~~~~
"Alright, just be careful." Miranda said, normally not so sincere or at least assumed as such but there were layers to her beyond her vain appreciation of her own beauty. Care for a teammate was one of them as she wished the phantom mage luck while she signaled for the others to follow her as she figured they could scout a path and if it seemed safe continue down it. If not, they'd settle down as she'd rather avoid a fight unless they had to.

~~~~~Sabertooth~~~~~
Jynx was quick to follow as a decision had been made it seems. Somebody seemed to be cutting off paths to lead them down this one, and someone had likely aimed to use this as a trap of some sort. And out of Guild Pride it seemed that the choice to spring the trap was made which Jynx had some mixed thoughts. On one hand, she had confidence in her guild and it likely had a chance to lead to a guild. On the other, springing a trap seemed like a poor idea...but it was out of her hands so she just hoped luck was on her side. Which if she had been good for one thing, it was turning the odds in their favor...
~~~~~Phoenix Feather~~~~~
Delta watched as Cole and Guildan bickered among each other as a sigh escaped the lips. This had been just what they needed in this place, then again Guildan being Guildan this had been inevitable though it seemed at least they had been on the right track.

The Water Dragon Slayer took a moment to sniff the air in the path they moved as he seemed to pick up something. And quickly moved by Cole. "Seems there is a team up ahead. Might be ones with the right crystal."

Eliza saw her path cut off as some figure fired upon her as she stopped on a dime though the blast seemed more a means to guard Ruby from the Thunder Dragon Slayer. Annoyingly, this Guild seemed to have team work down to a T, but before she had a chance to adjust to this as another girl in some sailor uniform charged at her with a large metal fist and tried to punch at the S-Class Mage.

Eliza jumped back to just avoid it as she smirked. "Gonna take more than that....Thunder Dragon Claw!" Eliza called out as she charged and tried to slash at Mariah's metal hands.

Magnus saw the incoming blades and had a grin, as he quickly worked to gather up his magic as the blades shot his way, he produced twin streams of magma as he had began to spin in place as the streams shot all around him. This 360 spin shot out his magma in all the areas the swords could have struck from as it aimed to blast them back and if he had been lucky sent some the way of the Heavenly Body Mage.

----------
As the members of Crimson Heart waited, they soon heard sounds of some mages as Marcus seemed to sniff them out from their obstructed cloaked positions and Diane in turn had worked to keep her breath

"Alright, so you spot anyone yet or..."

Woosh!

As Guildan tripped one of the threads Diane had made, suddenly the Crystal bows all fired upon the entrance area as instantly Phoenix Feather walked into the trap as Cole cursed under his breath as black fire was produced.

"Steam of the Flame God!"

Cole fired a wave of black fire as he tried to melt the arrows as Guildan produced an explosive palm and blasted the arrows his way mid-air before they had a chance to land.

Azalea revealed herself and moved to block the entrance the Guild entered from to cut them off, as Diane, Marcus, Tyler and Jill also revealed themselves as the remaining arrows of that trip spot had been fired and they worked to try and encircle the guild.

"Greetings. Show us your crystal, and this may go peacefully." Azalea said with a natural authority to her tone.

"Although I would love to entertain your little crew a little bit more, we really must get going," Lucifer exclaimed to Ara as she charged in swing her scythe back and forth. The Take-Over Mage seemingly able to dodge everything, ducked below the scythe range, sweeping the Fullbuster daughter off of her feet. Ara fell with a hard thud, not sensing the mage's low sweep. Lucifer, quickly moving on from the fallen ice mage, flew his way towards Elise.

The spider-like mage, on cue of Zora's plan, seeing as the Dark Dragon Slayer being sucked into the black-hole spell of Zora's, spewed out webs out of her palms. The web made contact with the dragon slayer, but was quickly cut off by a blade from Orion, who charged in towards Elise. His spirit, Mercury, coming in from behind with the same plan. "Y'know boys, spiders don't have eight eyes for no reason." Elise said teasingly before tilting her body sideways and extending both of her palms. Instead of a stream of webbing, the mage shot chunks of webs small and quick intervals, these webs being even stickier than the others. Orion and Mercury not able to cut of the webs, due to how resilient the webs were this time, collided with each other, making both spirit and mage stuck together, and eventually, stuck to the ground.

Lucifer quickly flew by, picking up Elise by her arm, as the spider mage ensure the ruby was still in her possession, and flew high into the sky. While in the sky, Elise spewed her web to tie up Barry, who was strangled by Zora's clutches the whole time. Lucifer snapped his finger, the one that wasn't not holding Elise sky high, and quickly pointed to Ara, who was getting up quite fast, "Ice-Make: Lance," Ara chanted before firing off at the duo. Lucifer quickly maneuvered around the attack and Elise shot barrages of sticky webbing that Ara couldn't cut up, much like Orion. The ice made couldn't dodge and was attached to the wall behind her. "Maniah, Magnus, quickly, we gotta go."

The female sailor, hearing Lucifer's command simply just smirked. "Oi, I was just warming up y'know," Maniah exclaimed towards Eliza. "But when the boss calls, ya gotta just go." Maniah clasped her hands together raised both her arms in the air, as she quickly called out a reformation. "Reform: Earth Shatterer!" Smashing the mechanical covered fists down onto the ground, the hole opened up a 5 meter radius below the area around Eliza. The shock wave also gave Maniah a slight jump boost to help her avoid the giant gap in the floor. "See you later mate," Maniah said before running off to where Lucifer and the rest of the girls were, waiting on Magnus.

Quickly it became apparent that it had been time to go, and as the webbing had been dropped on the Dark Dragon to keep him pinned she'd fire the gravity sphere at him to further hold him in place before she would cast a spell on herself; one that aimed to make the gravity around her lighter before she jumped up and quickly worked to land with Elise and Lucifer as she worked to make her escape.

Brendan saw this and the fact his spell was blocked by Magnus and cursed, they could not get away now! Brendan needed to strike now and began to channel magic once more as lights shinned in the skies of their labyrinth section above. "Pleiades!" Brendan called out as six rays of light fired beams aimed for the escaping mages; two aimed for the volcanic mage he had been locked in battle with, and the other four targeted at Lucifer and the fleeing mages as he tried to bring them back down in a hurry.

"Oh no you don't! Volcanic Scatter Shot!"
As the Heavenly Body Mage tried to blast his escaping guild mates, Magnus was quick to respond as he unleashed a stream of volcanic magma as he fired blasts at each and every Heavenly blast from Branden; a miniature explosion sounded off as each one clashed as he had knocked them aside for now but that left his other arm free as it had began to hear up.

"Volcanic Pit!"

Magnus caused the ground to melt ahead of him as he shot magma through it, turning the floor or at least one path of it into a sinkhole as he aimed to try and pin the Heavenly Body mage and keep him in place which would if it proved successful open up a door for him to escape with his own guild.

"D-damn it....THUNDER DRAGON CLAW!"

Eliza slashed and gashed at the metal fists as she worked to slice them to pieces even as the crator formed around her, but as she was successful in holding off the advance she had been pinned in place which meant she lacked the ability to pursue.

In spite of their efforts, this guild managed a clean escape and retrieved their crystal.

Lucifer smirked, seeing all of Ender Eye ensnared within their traps. "I really wish you guys the best of luck," Lucifer called out, despite the heavy load of carrying three girls midair. "But thank you for the Ruby. I'll see you during the main tournament, I got a feeling this isn't over yet." Lucifer flew away with Elise holding on tight to the Ruby, ensuring that it doesn't escape from their grasp while Magnus' superhuman feat was able to keep up with his guild members.

Ara was the first to escape, figuring change her body's property into liquid and slid right out of the sticky webbing. "Water Slicer," Ara chanted, carefully cutting the webbing off of Orion and Barry while Mercury already disappeared into the Celestial World. Ara and Barry quickly made their way to Eliza who quickly got Eliza out of the giant chasm she was stuck in, giving she couldn't just fly out of the hole. Orion helped Brendan, having his Golden Wing Armor still on him, he was able to quickly get in and out of the second crater made of hot stones and magma with Brendan in hand.

Unintentioanlly, Orion dropped Brendan onto the floor as he was exhausted. "Well that was a fiasco," Orion couldn't help but pick up on their situation. "And that was just part of the preliminaries." Ara wasn't deterred though. "That doesn't mean we should just sit around, we got to find another Ruby and make it to the end."

Barry perked up nonchalantly during this moment. "It seems like Lamia knows where the exit is already. Eliza and I can track them easily, but we need to find the Ruby first."

"Damn it...." Eliza muttered under her breath, as finally she got some free space but it came too late as Lamia Scale already made their getaway, first taste of action at the Grand Magic Games and already they had been outmaneuvered which had not been the ideal start to their day.

But, Eliza tried to keep composure. Ara was correct, it was not the time to sulk about it they still had work to do. So they were down a crystal, that only meant now they needed not worry to check which one another team had. There was still plenty of time to make this up and they had been far from beaten as Eliza nodded and turned to the others.

"It doesn't matter if it is Lamia Scale, if they qualify we'll pay them back in the proper games. We need to qualify. For now we gotta sniff out any team and get those crystals." Eliza said, and as she said this she already tried to sniff out to see if she could find anyone. Lamia Scale's path carried their scent and the presumed exit, though she sniffed out a pair of other scent groups in different tunnels.

"I got a couple of reads. If you guys are ready we set out now. Can't waste time."

Brandon was in a bit of his own predicament as it were, as that volcanic mage's getaway scheme had left him stuck on the now melted ground waist down. Not the best look, and given that they were likely being seen before all of Fiore watching it only added to the general humiliation of it all. Though as he worked to free himself it did seem that the rest of the guild shared the feeling but more importantly seemed ready to move on an rebound rather than let it bring them down which had to be an encouraging sign. As Eliza and Barry made mention of Lamia Scale and other possible targets the Heavenly Body mage thought it over before he nodded. "Well I see no reason to hang here, if you guys are good then let's go."

~~~~~~~~~~~
"Seems like your Guild isn't doing so hot..." One of the mages of the desert guild Savannah had stayed with said, as they happened to catch Lamia's Scale taking the gem out of the hands of Savannah's own guild as she watched with high nerves though tried to keep positive. "It's fine, it's fine. A little adversity builds character. They will rebound, still got plenty of time..." Savannah answered, as she was sure they had more fight in them than this and continued to support them from afar.
"Well then let's not beat around the bush. Let's go and get those crystals!" Eliza declared with renwed passion as she would take charge and led the Guild ahead towards the path Lamia Scale took. She figured it was the smart place to go given that either they'd catch up with Lamia Scale or catch any other team who happened to have both crystals by the presumed exit and be able to ambush them to take it from them. Regardless they needed to get crystals as Eliza would not allow failure for herself or Ender Eye, not at this stage.
-----
"WOO! Alright this is going better than I could have expected."
Needless to say Diane of Crimson Heart had been in a cheerful mood, their ambush of the guild that bumped into them this "Celestial Dawn" had...not gone well, despite their superior numbers the mages they met were crazy powerful and managed to fend them off before escaping. Those guys would be a problem if they made it to the actual games, and should they make it to meet them.
But as fortune would have it, they bumped into another poor team that had the exact crystal they needed. And now they had a Ruby & Sapphire stone in hand Crimson Heart could race to try and find an exit as with the time that had passed several of the 8 teams likely had progressed by now or at least were close.
Though as Diane and her team moved through the tunnel, Marcus sniffed the air as the Volcanic Dragon Slayer picked up some scents.
-----
And he had not been the only one, as Eliza picked up on nearby scents as well as she glanced back to the group. "I smell several figures, another team is just up ahead!" Eliza called out and sure enough they landed as the other guild was face to face with them.
"Figured I sniffed something. Seems we got one last roadblock." Marcus mused as he, Tyler, Diane, Azalea & Jill assumed battle ready stances. Eliza wished she picked up sooner to get a jump on them, but given one of them seemed to sniff them out that seemed unlikely as it was.
Though as Eliza scanned them, Diane frowned her brow. Something about them seemed familiar to her. One of them seemed a splitting image of Jellal, but she was sure she just imagined things. Right?
Orion and the rest of the Ender Eye team simply followed Eliza's and Barry's lead, tracking down Lamia Scale. They had no time to waste, their only chance of bypassing the preliminaries rely on snagging their Ruby from Lamia right as they get to the exit of the labyrinth. It was embarrassing enough that the whole country of Fiore had to watch Ender Eye's less than ideal first fight of the Grand Magic Games, but Orion was more than determined to get back at Lamia for one upping them like that.
Eliza's movements halted the whole group, which in turn allowed them to face directly at another guild, which were luckily in possession of both the Sapphire and Ruby, the latter being the one Ender Eye needed the most. Thoughts about tracking Lamia Scale is gone, now replaced with the determination of snagging the Ruby out of this teams hand.
"Dark Dragon's Lariat!"
And soon the fight was broken out immediately. Barry quickly ran to the side and and propelled himself off the ground, throwing a sharp right hook towards the one holding the gemstones, which was one of the girls on the team. As quickly as he threw the punch, the Dark Dragon Slayer was intercepted with a quick kick the stopped him in his track. The leg with enveloped with some sort of bright red, but hot and sticky liquid. Barry made eye contact with Marcus before having to break off from him to engage once more.
"Requip: Crystal Atlantis Armor!"
As soon as the glow shimmered off Orion, it revealed the mage to be equipped with the armor given by Neptune. Orion quickly jumped into the air and shot a geyser of water out of his three-pronged trident towards the opposing group. During the amidst, Ara had turned herself into her liquid form and merged into the gush of water Orion had sent out, hoping a sneak attack would end this quickly. The Fullbuster daughter made her way towards the tip of the geyser, right before it could collide with the group.
"Ice Make: Lance!"
Skewers of icicles emerged out of the water geyser, yet keeping Ara hidden, still in her liquefied form. The barrage of up close icicles should have surprised the enemy, and with the gush of water coming from behind, that should give Ara enough of an opportunity to snag the Ruby right out of the girl's grip.
So the battle had began eh? Well Brendan was not one to complain as he was eager to redeem himself from his earlier failing with the Volcanic Mage. As he scanned the field a few mini fights broke out in the larger battle with this guild, and soon his eyes gazed upon the girl who seemed to have the needed Ruby on hand as he began to coat himself in a magical aura as he prepared to strike. "Mete..."
"String Magic: Barrier!" A new voice called out, as Jill saw the mage in the back of the group who seemed ready to strike and she worked to cut him off as from an open palm she produced a net of magic-infused wires that formed a wall to cut Brandon off as he had cut off his own spell with a frown. So this girl had some thread with her? An interesting magic but nothing too crazy....woosh! Brandon's thoughts were cut off as a sword nearly slammed him blunt side to the side as he just jumped back to avoid it as he saw a curious sight. Some sort of rat or mouse that seemed to have a comically large blade that chased after him.
"Come on pretty boy, let's see what you are made of!" Tachigami, one of Jill's Celestial Spirits, called out as it and Jill chased after Brendan who already felt pressured. Seemed this wouldn't be so easy...
"Take-Over: Arachnid!"
A queue, a male popped out from the enemy group with horrendously long spider legs attached to his back. Tyler had a sharp eye, immediately sensing when Ara had conjoined with Orion's water geyser. With a quick chant, Tyler spewed out webs, with elasticity sewn into the webbing. With quick spider legs, Tyler built a funnel elastic web in no time. The Ice-Make: Lance landed into the funnel web as it stretched pretty far into Crimson Heart's territory. Unfortunately for Ender Eye, the frozen lances only bounced off the webbing and ricocheted right into the incoming water geyser.
"Not this shit again." Ara complained, referring to having to deal with another web-based user like Lamia Scale's. In a protective stance, while in liquefied form Ara froze the water geyser, encasing herself within the frozen shot. The backtracked ice lanced crashed into the now frozen water geyser from Orion and only chipped the defensive spell from Ara.
"Dark Dragon's Roar!"
From the open mouth of Barry was a fury of dark magic that came towards Marcus at an astronomical pace. However Marcus only did a roar of his own.
"Volcanic Dragon's Roar!"
Magma spewed out of the male's mouth, crashing into the dark magic of the Dark Dragon Slayer. The attacked were quickly deemed equal as it caused a huge bellow of smoke and debris to appear during the collision.
"Not bad for a black sheep."
"Back at you."
As Tyler worked to combat the double attack from the ice/water (?) and Requip mages, Diane knew she had to act quickly to support Tyler as she tucked the Ruby in her back pocket before she slammed her hands on the ground.
"Crystal-Make: Canon!"
Diane wasted little time as she made a canon and fired it right at Ara and Orion, as she aimed to provide heavy fire careful to avoid Tyler as this served two purposes; both to try and hit the mages to knock them on the ground, and to keep them busy and allow an opening for the Take-Over mage to ensnare them. Though as these mages attacks, their choice of magic combined with their appearance raised some questions in Diane's mind as the ever proud "Fairy Tail fangirl" could not help but draw similarities.
That girl seems like the ideal Gray/Juvia lovechild, and that guy he looks just like Jellal! Could they be...no Diane no you are just being crazy right now. Besides, got a job to do...
Eliza entered the scene, and the Thunder Dragon began to charge up some energy of her own though as she did so suddenly she found herself surrounded by several flowers as Azalea lowered down to greet her.
"I sense you are quite strong, so it is only fitting for our paths to cross! I am Azalea of Crimson Heart, and I challenge you...show me your strength rogue mage!" Azalea said, with a bit of over-dramatic flair and even a bit of a pose which caused Eliza to blink almost dumbfounded.
"Yeah, sorry but we're kinda busy so I'll save the theatrics. Thunder Dragon Claw!" Eliza called out as she tried to blitz Azalea and strike quickly with a thunder claw strike to deal with this quickly...only for two streaks of flowers to wrap around her wrists as she was caught mid-air and held in place much to her shock.
"Oh but I insist~" Azalea said as she casually tossed Eliza back as she slammed on the floor but quickly rolled through and landed on her feet. Okay so this girl was not some clown, she had skill to back it up...and that caused Eliza to form a sly grin of her own as she gathered her aura.
However long this goes, this may be fun yet~
"Open! Gate of the Hellhound: Cerebus!"
"And open! Gate of the Hell King: Pluto!"
Orion had taken off his requip to cast two simultaneous spirit summons, albeit one of them being an Iron Key while Pluto's was a Diamond Key. The previous battle had taken a lot out of him already and he wanted to end this quick. The two spirits summoned, the three-headed puppy immediately transforming into the giant hellhound it was meant to be. Meanwhile Pluto had plunged himself into the shadows and moved quick. Tendrils of shadows rose above the ground, wrapping itself around the crystal cannon, and somehow the crystal ammo that was fired off, and sunk the molding magic into the shadows of darkness.
"Dark Dragon's Lightless Talons!"
Barry encased his fist in dark magic and began slashing away at Tyler. The Volcanic Dragon Slayer dodged with ease at the slashes Barry was throwing at him, until the Dark Dragon Slayer threw a sudden side kick to Tyler's abdomen, which resulted in the male the crash into a nearby wall.
"Not bad, not bad at all!"
"Cerebus! Fire away!"
Orion called out. The giant three-headed canine spewed three gigantic balls of magma and directed it towards the duo of Diana and Tyler. Meanwhile, Pluto absorbed himself into the shadows again, hiding within the shadow of Diane. With the help of Minerva's telepathy, Orion was able to tell Pluto what he needed. Pluto sat their waiting until it's the perfect moment to strike. Tyler's quick reaction to the magma balls saved the crew of Crimson Heart as he shot a web at Marcus in the debris and pulled him as a meat shield in the way of the triple threat magic.
"Oh shoot, how convenient is this!"
Marcus began eating away at the magma balls, quickly replenishing his health and magic as well as rendering Cerebus' magic as useless. With the powered up Volcanic Dragon, Orion and Ara couldn't only dodge the dragon roar Marcus threw at them while Orion forcefully shut Cerebus's gate as he was now useless against a person who can consume magma and lava.
"Dark Dragon's Crushing Tail!"
Barry came in from above at an extremely fast pace with a solid front flip, his leg extended to crash upon the head of Diane, planning to make her unconscious to allow Ender Eye to snag the Ruby.
Brendan mused as he was stuck dealing with the Celestial Mage, and more alarmingly her tenacious if not vocal spirit who charged and swung with a certain power and quickness that kept Brendan on his toes. Though Brendan proved a step quicker, and once he activated Meteor much quicker as the Heavenly Body mage danced around Tachigami as he struck and hit with several successitve jabs which to Tachigami's credit he seemed more annoyed by even as they did damage.
"Gah...hold still you!" Tachigami cursed, as Jill realized she needed to get him help and less space for Brendan to escape from as she quickly worked to produce another key with one hand and more string with the other as she prepared to go to work.
"String Magic: Thread Field!"
"Open Gate of the Sun Goddess!"
The duel effect had been immediate, as Brendan saw what appeared to be a white dog spirit emerge as the trusted companion Amaterasu appeared and fired a stream of fireballs that Brendan was able to dodge easily in his high speed state, though the fire caused him to back up to Tachigami who nearly got a blunt slash to his back as Brendan knew that with two spirits he had to be more careful. Something that had grown more apparent as long threads of string began to stab and gather around their area as soon a small field of them stuck around which made obstacles and limited the space Brendan had as Jill joined her spirits as all three charged Brendan from different sides.
The Crystal canon and ammo sunk into the shadows as Diane had naturally been just a touch alarmed by this though she tried to keep her aim was to keep focus between Orion and the shadow figure. The shadow moved about and was hard to track, not helped that this Guild seemed to have a strong Dragon Slayer of its one; one that aimed to try and strike her from above.
Diane worked to quickly deal with the immediate threat, oblivious as she lost track of the shadow spirit.
"Crystal Make: Revolving Pillar!"
Diane worked and fired a custom creation, a large pillar that shot up and aimed to try and strike Barry in the gut. Beyond that, if she could strike and send Barry flying up the pillar would spin around and around. As Diane aimed to try and add a level of "motion sickness" to the move which she knew from her lifelong fandom of the Fairy Tail guild was the trademark weakness of Dragon Slayers.
"Thunder Dragon Scales!" Eliza called out, as she was locked in a fierce duel with Azalea as she fired dozens of electric scales right towards the Flora mage only fort Azalea to respond in kind.
"Flora Magic: Flora Shiruken!"
Several dozen sharpened magical flowers fired back, as the sharp petals and electric scales clashed as the attacks seemed to cancel each other out. But one thing seemed apparent, for as many scales as Eliza made Azalea could produce far more flower petals as she began to be pressured back. Beyond that, Azalea seemed to catch her guild's situation and fired additional ones in an omni-direction attack; as she also aimed for Orion & Ara to boot as she tried to tip the scales back in the guild's favor.
Eliza in tern, worked to cut the flowers that focused on her. She needed something big to deal with this sheer quantity, as she slowly began to breath in...
As the draconic roar faded away, it soon revealed Orion and Ara unharmed, but not unscathed. Orion was fitting his Solar Diety Armor, with no sword in sight, but his shield present and in front of him, taking the bulk of the roar. Ara had reinforced the shield with a quick Ice-Make Shield, making it bulkier and standing taller to be able to protect the blunt of the attack. Cracks and steam were coming off the Solar Shield with all the ice shield disappeared from sight, showcasing how extremely powerful and hot the attack was.
Orion took a quick breather, having to hang on to the shield for the longest time when Marcus's attack come towards them. So Ara continued her onslaught with a barrage of Ice-Make: Lance in order to buy time for them to snag the ruby and get out of there. They were running low on magic battling two other guilds back to back after all.
With Barry already coming down at an extremely fast rate, he couldn't dodge the molding magic aiming towards him. However, Barry wasn't fazed as he only angled his kick a little differently and cracked the crystal pillar, breaking a solid portion off, but wasn't able to get a direct hit onto Diane after her counterattack.
During this altercation, Pluto had extended a shadow tendril and plucked the ruby out of Diane's pocket and snuck back into the shadow dimension of his. As he reappeared besides Orion, the apathetic celestial spirit plopped the Ruby into Orion's bag before sensing an onslaught attack from Azalea's sharp flower petals. With grasp of his palm, Pluto physically pulled a shadow wall out of the ground, putting Orion on the defense again and unable to attack as he was busy defending from the flower shuriken.
Ara's ice lances collided with Azalea's flora shuriken, unfortunately getting some cuts and scratches in the process as failure to defend herself from the sheer amount of petals there are. She lessened the ice lances to revert to her water body where the flora shurikens then could only fly through her without harming her.
Marcus and Tyler soon recovered from the ice barrage of lances and started charging up attacks of their own to try to finish these people off already.
Brendan had a desire to go help his friends, but this wire maze he had been caught inside on top of this three man attack which had kept him on his toes. As Amaterasu unleashed flames and Tachigami swung for the fences, Jill noted how the battle had been going elsewhere and realized she needed to try and least take Brendan out of the equation long enough to go aid her Guild. She began to produce and funnel a large collection of string which soon began to blacken and splinter into a few "god" threads, as she fired them ahead when she saw her two spirits back Brendan into a section of several thread obstacles and he seemed pinned as the darkened, hardened collection of threat trails shot out and aimed to strike Brendan from multiple sides at high speeds in the hopes it could put him out action.
Brendan saw this and realized he was in a sticky spot, Meteor would just mean he ran into something faster and risked leaving him open, he needed another plan a way out of this mess and he needed it soon. Slowly he began to build up some magic of his own as he prepared for what an onlooker might suspect is a last stand.
While Diane was slow to notice the pit pocket, it became apparent something was wrong as she felt weight in her pocket lessen as she glanced down after she fended off the Dragon on the other guild for a moment and realized what happened.
"Shit! They got the crystal!" Diane shouted, as she knew she needed to get this guy out of the way quickly. Given the shadow that seemed to sliver to the Celestial Mage on their camp, she presumed he had it as she quickly produced what seemed to be some sort of Crystal Net Gun and took aim as she aimed to fire it and work to try and bind this Dark Dragon so he'd be out of the way. Least long enough to allow her to reconstruct a canon to take aim at the Celestial Mage.
So she got picked, no big deal, if they blasted them away they could easily get it back. And with Azalea able to offer aid and keep the other Dragon away from them the odds seemed to favor them.
Azalea in turn had managed to hold Eliza back, blasting her with wave after wave of her sharpened magically reinforced flower petals...the same ones she also shot the way of the Ender Eye mages. It was tricky to attack multiple opponents at once, but Azalea was not S-Class off reputation alone. It also helped that it seemed Eliza had stopped fighting back; as she merely adopted a cover position as the petals cut her skin and pushed her back though Eliza worked to remain standing. This puzzled the Flora mage as she raised an eyebrow.
Has she given up? No...she is plotting something. I must answer in kind.
Azalea had caught on to what Eliza seemed to plan, as she began to focus on gathering a mass of flowers together as they seemed to begin fusing as they became pure magical energy as if forming some sort of energy technique, but Azalea had realized this too late with her divided focus as Eliza gathered the needed magic and breath as she stomped down and let out a fearsome bellow to her opponent.
"THUNDER.....DRAGON.....ROAR!!!!!"
Eliza unleashed what had been without question her most powerful Dragon Roar yet, as a fearsome wave of Dragon Slayer Thunder shot through the area of the labyrinth towards Azalea and her Crimson Heart opposition; lightning crackled around as the sheer force cracked even the labyrinth walls and vaporized any flower petal that tried to stand against it; Azalea tried to form a wall with what amount she had on hand but even the staggering wall of magical petals only caused the roar to pause as it was blown to ash and Azalea hit as she was sent flying back from the sheer force of it as Diane saw this and her eyes were wide as dinner plates.
Holy shit she is just like Laxus! Also holy shit, it is coming right for us!
Diane quickly slammed her palms to the ground, and produced a multi-layer, reinforced Crystal Wall that she hoped would be enough to block the force of the blast after it used energy against Azalea's attacks & wall flower barrier, as she quickly called for her Guild to take refuge to try and hold back the S-Class attack.
Both Tyler and Marcus were about to charge at Orion and Ara with their own powered up moves, but the immense energy coming from the Thunder Dragon Slayer had stopped them in their tracks. Tyler saw the incoming attack from a distance away. His eyes widened as he quickly shifted to another transformation. Marcus on the other hand, tried to power up his own roar to counteract the Thunder Dragon's Roar.
"Take-Over: Firefly!"
"Volcanic Dragon's Roar!"
With his spider legs gone, so did his webbing abilities. However, in place of that were a set of firefly wings that enabled him flight. Tyler flew upwards in order to try to dodge the immense attack. Marcus's roar of magma flew out and blasted right into the electric beam, however it was easily swallowed up by the lightning. Both with different tactics to deal with Eliza's roar, but both still failed in escaping the sheer power and lightning fast Thunder Dragon's Roar.
Marcus was thrown back against an already cracked labyrinth wall which knocked his head directly to the concrete and knocked the dragon slayer unconscious. Tyler, despite trying to fly away, was hit midair and flew off into a short distance and collided into the ground, his firefly wings already dissipated, his eyes whitened and knocked out.
Orion and Ara hadn't dealt twith the blunt of the attack. However, with the sheer energy of ethernano Eliza used up, the Celestial Spirit Mage and Water & Ice Mage struggled to keep their ground. Pluto's shadow dome wobbled a bit before Orion had to close his gate, with Ruby fully secured in his pocket. Ara's quickly made Ice Shield cracked in an instant from the force.
Barry, midair, was luckily away from the collateral damage thanks to Diane's crystal pillar. Hopping from the broken crystal pillar, Barry was able to keep a safe distance away from Eliza's roar and not fall directly into the blunt of it. Hopefully now they can concentrate and making it towards the end without trouble.
The roar of Eliza's thunder caught Jill by surprise, as her eyes widened as she needed to head Diane's cry and get to that shield. Quickly she recalled her spirits and prepared to slingshot herself behind the shield. But before she could make progress she felt a surge of power from ahead of her as she glanced as Brendan used Meteor to close the distance within the confined space of the wire within that fraction of a moment as he had gathered massive energy his palms. "Shouldn't keep your eyes off your opponent. Jupiter Burst!"
A massive blast of Heavenly magic slammed into Jill's frame as the magic blast shot her towards the wall and blasted her through it as a cloud of dust followed the explosion left at her wake, the force of the powerful blasts and angle that Brendan had been at knocked him high to the ceiling as he had caught himself as he watched Eliza's powerful roar rock towards the opposition. And Barry, if his eyes had not been mistaken when he observed the seemingly last Crimson Heart Mage standing.
Diane had kept the barrier strong, which thankfully seemed weaker given all it had to go through just to get to her wall, as she worked to protect herself and presumably her Guild behind her. Though during this Diane had not been made oblivious to a certain stow away who snuck behind her wall as she turned with an annoyed look.
"Hey, find your own shelter, Crimson Heart mages only!" Diane said, as she made a crystal staff and tried to slam it right on top of the Dark Dragon's skull as Eliza's roar soon came to an end. The Thunder Dragon fell to all fours and had been left a panting mess; fatigue from the mega roar and the use of nearly all the magic she had left her beyond exhausted though she hopefully did her part to seize victory.
During this, the hole Azalea had been blasted through showed some signs of activity, but nothing significant...yet.
Barry dodged the Crystal Mage's attempt to attack him with a jump to avoid the staff from giving a dent into his cranium. With the jump, Barry cloaked his right foot with dark magic, attempting to snag another knock out to finish this battle quickly already. The dragon slayer gave a midair roundhouse kick towards Diane's abdomen, which should send her flying away from her current location, far enough and hopefully knocked out long enough from Ender Eye to go scot-free with a snagged Ruby in their hands.
"Let's go, before they can give chase again!"
Orion called out towards the rest of the Ender Eye group. His legs wobbled from muscle fatigue, but that isn't going to help them find the exit to this goddamn labyrinth. This was only the preliminaries and the Celestial Spirit mage is stressed the hell out. He quickly walked towards the general vicinity of where he recalled Lamia Scale was running off to. Ara, finally unfazed from Eliza's roar, grouped up with Orion with an audible groan escaping her lips. She checked Orion's pockets, quickly feeling both the Ruby and Sapphire are secured in his possession. The Dark Dragon Slayer shook off his legs and arms beforehand as he quickly caught up to where Ara and Orion were running off towards.
"Barry, Eliza, any of you guys still able to sense where Lamia Scale ran off to?"
Brendan heard the call and he had not been one to linger back, that little scuffle with the Celestial Spirit mage took a bit more than he expected but he knew they had a chance to get out with what they needed while this group was momentarily down and he aimed to take it. Though out of the corner of his eye he noticed Eliza seemed to have collapsed on her knees as that last move seemed to visible drain her and he half suspected her prior battle before said move had not helped much.
Brendan quickly dashed over the Thunder Dragon's way as he offered a hand to Eliza. "Can you stand? Right here if you need it." Brendan said as they had to move quickly so he wanted to see how well Eliza could move, all the while he kept on guard just in case.
Naturally Diane tried to mount a defense, though the Dragon Slayer was a step quicker than her as the magic-fueled kick slammed right into her gut as she was launched back and slammed right into her own diamond wall as she slumped down and groaned the impact having taken a toll in a hurry.
Eliza in kind shook her head as she worked to stand up shaky as her legs were as she accepted Brendan's hand but smirked his way as she worked to address both him and the question on tracking.
"Yeah I'll live. And I can smell them. Let's hurry before these guys regroup!" Eliza called out, and jumped ahead with what energy she had left eager to follow Lamia Scale out of the maze. During this period, Azalea had managed to move out of her hole as she was wounded but not beaten as she began to generate and charge up magical petals prepared to strike all of them down to keep them in place. But then she saw the state of her guild, and as she weighed her options she sighed as she worked to move the petals over her teammates. Using pollen from those flowers to act as a healing spell.
Their safety mattered more than the off chance they could keep this fight going. Besides, there always was next year.
Brendan nodded to Eliza's words, and followed the Thunder Dragon and the others out of this section as they hopefully had this guild in the dust. It seemed Eliza to boot had Lamia Scale's scent which made the prospect of escaping all too easy. If things worked well they'd make the cut after all and unknown to any of them Savannah and her old desert guild friends had been cheering them on from home.
"Woo! I never had any doubt go get a spot in that top 8!" Savannah cheered as she had gone though a very emotional viewing which given this had been a pre-game to just qualify spoke about just how fierce these games were going to be.
Orion and the rest followed Eliza and Barry as they tracked Lamia Scale. They were most likely a distance away and their scent may be muddled with other ongoing competition throughout the labyrinth, but that didn't deter that dragon slayers from finding their scent. However, Ender Eye did run to the end of the labyrinth unscathed as they had to fire off what little of their magic they had left in order to fend for themselves to the end. A simple Ice Lance here, a simple kick there, and many many dodges and escapes.
"Great job Eliza, Barry!"
Eventually, Ender Eye made it to the end of the labyrinth, seemingly to be the only ones there. At the end of the labyrinth stood a giant door that blocked them from escaping. The double door held a groove each, presumably to input the sapphire and ruby into their respective slots to ensure the guild met the requirements to make it through the preliminaries. Orion stepped ahead of the group to put in the gemstones. As the sapphire and ruby were placed in their designated sections, the gems glowed and the wooden doors opened themselves to reveal the world outside of the labyrinth.
"We did it guys!"
Orion cheered, finally free from the practical hellhole of a maze. However, Ara reminded him one important factor.
"Not yet, we don't know if we made it through as the first eight guilds."
As if on cue, a screen appeared in front of them. On the lacrima vision, a familiarly pumpkin-masked man stood within the screen, clapping for the guild on their accomplishment.
"Congratulations kabo! You made it to the main competition of the Grand Magic Games! Your team is the seventh guild to make it, kabo! The audience won't know who made it until when the main competition starts, so wish you some rest before the Grand Magic Games! Kabo!"
Orion let out a huge sigh of relief that he didn't know he was holding for a while, even though it really hurt to breath. The Celestial Spirit mage turned to the rest of the guild comrades, a wide smile evident of his face. Ara held a smile on her face too, despite her breathing being slightly ragged. Barry didn't show to much signs of emotion, but Orion swears he saw a slight smirk of accomplishment, even with all the wincing the Dark Dragon Slayer is doing. Ender Eye made it to the Grand Magic Games!
"Now I can say we actually did it guys!"
Ara couldn't quite believe it. Her and the rest of her team had made it to the actual Grand Magic Games. It almost seemed unreal. She could finally show her parents, and the rest of Fairy Tail, that she isn't just the daughter of Grey and Juvia Fullbuster. Ara had gone through a lot ever since she left Fairy Tail, and had grown far stronger than she had ever anticipated.
Though, Ara had to admit that the preliminary games were quite exhausting. She definitely wanted some rest. She then faced her team, and said, "How about we take the pumpkin's advice, and have some rest? We all deserve it after all the hard work we made it through to get here!"
Brendan felt a tremendous weight lift off his shoulders as they were announced as one of the 8 guilds to have made it through, really after what they had been through it had been a major relief. And it seemed that they'd be given a rest period before the games as the final team would still have to come and preparations for the games in proper tomorrow would come. Brendan heard Ara's advice as he nodded along, even with the mystery of who else passed on his mind it was the sound move. "Yeah, I can get behind that. I am sure the others are on the edge of their seat wondering if we made it or not."
"COME ON DON'T BLACK OUT NOW!" Savannah cursed, as indeed even the viewers at home were left in the dark as the labyrinth footage just...cut out, if a team had been close enough to the exit. Leaving it in the dark if they qualified or someone had gotten to them or not. They'd have to wait till the games began to get that assurance, not that it made Savannah's viewing any more pleasant as she banged the television in frustration before being calmed by her fellow former desert mates.
Eliza, who had pushed herself perhaps a bit too hard, felt like a tremendous weight was removed from her back. She had made it, they made it and now were a true part of the Grand Magic Games. She took a moment to collect her breath but had a sly smirk as she saw the rest of her guild overjoyed that they made it. She had nodded at the suggestion Ara had made that they should take it easy now for the day. Though as she glanced up above at the sky she had one thing on her mind above all else.
Are you...watching me, Laxus. I hope you see what I am made of, what we're made of....
Serebus like the other Ender Eye members who had not been participating in the games waited at the largest what Serebus had been informed was a "event bar" of sorts within the capital as she watched the events on the monitors though like viewers out of town it cut away from any team within a certain distance to the presumed exit to built up suspense of who'd be revealed for the grand first day. Which made for good viewing but a frustrating experience as the young snake mage walked over to Elaine.
"D-do you think they made it?" Serebus asked, naturally she like all the others hoped the best for them though she had added concern if Viper and Ara were okay or not. Elaine smiled at the younger made as she seemed to have more certainty.
"Hell yeah, I know Eliza enough to know for a fact is she'll take them to the end kicking & screaming if she must. They'll make it through, I am certain."
"Hey, I was only in this guild for a bit, but I think we all know they made it."
Sitting beside Serebus, Sabrina was watching the lacrima vision, just like everyone else in the pub was. Though the pub was filled with many locals and tourists viewing the preliminaries of the Grand Magic Games happening as they speak, it was mainly occupied by the Ender Eye mages, practically having taken over the whole bar section. Cheers and whoops can be heard as people cheered on for their guild mates or their friends to make it to the end.
Sabrina was the same, cheering on for Ender Eye, completely forgetting the conflict they had many months ago, though it is all water under the bridge at this point. Her bunny doll sat tall on the counter in front of her, as if it was watching the games for itself as well.
"I'm sure you know Sere. We both know they're fully capable of making it."
Angela, occupying a space beside Elaine, couldn't help but agree with the notion. Eliza was one, if not the, strongest member of Ender Eye. While they both are part of S-Class, Eliza is far superior compared to the Thunder Dragon Slayer, though Angela didn't mind that one bit. She is mainly a supporting S-Class after all, though she has capabilities to hold her own in a fight.
"Couldn't agree more Elaine. Eliza is not to be reckoned with, much less the rest of the team as well. Brendan being our recent S-Class recruit and Ara, Orion, and Barry shouldn't be messed with either."
Meanwhile, Orion was wandering around with Team Ender Eye, completely unsure where they should head now. They completed the preliminaries, now they should just find where their guild is to relay the information. They should celebrate, or at least rest, while the guild celebrates in their favor. This is the first time Ender Eye made it this far into the Grand Magic Games. Barry's nose twitched, noticing something while they were walking around, picking up the scent of familiarity while his ears had picked up the loud ruckus of Ender Eye.
"I can sense where the guild is. They're that way."
With Barry leading the group to where the guild is, Orion and the rest followed, with the Celestial Spirit Mage especially excited to tell Ender Eye the big news.
Ara would follow Orion and Barry to where Ender Eye supposedly resided. Ara found it a bit strange, however, that Barry could just sniff where the guild was. Was this a skill all Dragon Slayers possessed? If so, it's a pretty weird one, but a useful one too.
Ara couldn't wait to embrace Serebus in a hug and tell her the big news. She couldn't wait to see her "little sister"'s eyes shine with joy as Ara tells her that Ender Eye made it in to the games. In fact, she couldn't wait to see everyone else's reactions as well. Knowing Ender Eye, a party would be in bound to celebrate the guild's achievements.
Jeanne herself had a quiet confidence the others had passed, after all Barry was among them and if there was thing her on and off again rival could be depended on chill as he normally had been was that he brought his best when it mattered most. He'd pull through, and she had been sure they would to as she sat by Cyrus with a fresh pair of drinks. "So, any thoughts about how you think our Guild fared?"
Brendan walked with his fellow guildmates, and like them had been eager to share the good news as Barry seemed to lead the way towards the area they were at. As a newly appointed S-Class he wanted to prove he had earned the rank and so far he had helped get them to the Grand Magic Games so he had been more than eager to celebrate the good news. Particularly with Angela, wait did Brendan say that out loud in his head?
Cyrus accepted the drink with a thanks to Jeanne as once more, like others, he seemed frustrated with the selective cuts to the feed before the prelims had been shut off as he thought it over before he glanced the way of his partner.
"Course I do, they are a stubborn and strong bunch. They'd find a way to make the cut no matter what it took." Cyrus said, and he had that belief in them he may not have been part of the core team but this group had been through hell and back countless times and he was sure they had what it takes even against others among their talented peer group.
"Yeah, you got nothing to worry about it, I am sure they'll be in any minute with the good news." Elaine said with a smile to Serebus, which seemed to help ease the younger mage as she nodded. Yeah, they were right. She had to trust in them, believe they could do it her surrogate sister was among them and they had proven themselves before. As if for added assurance, she felt a hand on her back as she glanced up and Viper seemed to give a silent nod as if to add this feeling of trust she needed to have in her comrades. They could do it, no they had to do it Serebus was now certain of that much.
Soon enough, the qualified Ender Eye members soon found the bar that Barry (And by this point) Eliza had sniffed out and with a dramatic thud Eliza had kicked the door down which shocked the other residents of this bar but got the attention of the remaining Ender Eye members.
There was a long pause, before Eliza slowly raised a hand....and held up a finger that showed the "number one" sign before she flashed a grin their way.
"Ender Eye...is officially in the Grand Magic Games!"
As the team made their entrance, Ara would immediately run up to Serebus and aimed to give her little sister a massive hug, a hug strong enough to pick her up straight from her seat.
"Can you believe it, Serebus~? Your big sis and everyone else was able to make it to the games~! We're officially part of the best guild in Fiore!" Ara happily announced as she carried Serebus and spun her around in glee.
Orion followed through with the rest of the Ender Eye participants, with their supposed leader Eliza to give out the good news to the rest of Ender Eye. A loud eruption arose from the bar, everyone, even strangers that weren't even part of Ender Eye, congratulated the group. Of course, there were murmurs here and there lingering how people didn't know this guild because of how small it is with their popularity not on par to bigger guilds such as the esteemed Sabertooth or the greatly renowned Fairy Tail. And of course, there were many strangers who were skeptical of Ender Eye's claims on making it.
Nonetheless, Ender Eye had made it to the Grand Magic Games and the only supporters they needed was from their own guild members. Orion's eyes met Angela, who ran towards the Celestial Spirit Mage. Both mages hands clasped, shook ensuing both of them.
"Oh lord Orion, I saw everything on the lacrima vision. Lamia Scale seemed really intense. I guess they weren't kidding when they weren't going to go easy on you."
"It definitely wasn't easy, but we managed to pull through I guess. I'm just terrified for the upcoming games now."
As Barry walked in, behind everyone else, he was greeted with a familiar yellow exceed flying towards him. With instinctive reflexes, Barry stopped the exceed in his spot without crashing into him. Bolt quickly lifted a paw in a shape of a fist. Barry bumped the furry paw with a fist of his own, both with a smirk plastered on their faces. This was a long time coming after all and a huge obstacle to reach first place of this tournament is only mere steps away.
Brendan sighed in relief, almost chuckled as he heard the guild cheer along with the bar over their qualification as he was ready to enjoy a peaceful day as he walked over to Marcus and Cat as he greeted the siblings while others seemed to begin to break off and converse with others. "Gotta say if the rest of the games are as intense as the prelim, it may be a major pain in the butt."
Jeanne smiled as she had moved over towards Barry & Bolt with a smile as she folded her arms over her chest. "Congrats, though I shouldn't be too shocked. Just don't lay an egg in the games themsevles, or you'll never hear the end of it from me got it~"
Marcus simply laughed at Brendan's remark before lugging his huge, muscular arm over Brendan, while his other arm occupied carrying his drink. "Hey, now! There's no time to get tired now!" Marcus responded, "You and everyone else are going to be representing Ender Eye, so we gotta show Fiore our stuff! We don't need them to see us get tired on the first day. Alright, "Mr. S-Class"?" Marcus jabbed at Brendan before taking a huge jug of his drink.
Cat, although not as energetic as her older brother, still showed a determined expression. "Marcus is right, Brendan! We gotta stay in the game, even if it's gets harder in the next days! Don't lose any motivation," retorted Cat. Although, she would then move her focus onto Ara, as she seemed to be very cheerful of getting into the games. You better give it your all, Ara! Like you always do.
Serebus was quick to embrace Ara as she had naturally been overjoted by the good news as she snuggled into the hug and had a smile that stretched ear to ear.
"Congrats! I-I was cheering for you guys the whole way, I knew you could do it!" Serebus cheered as she giggled a bit when Ara spun them around in her hug but in her view she had been on cloud nine and could not have been happier for her friends.
"Like I said, never doubt her for a second." Elaine mused as she made her way over to Eliza, who in turn had moved over to Viper as Eliza felt a pat on her back from her friend as Elaine gave the ole thumbs up.
"Congrats, had the Guild scared there for a second but I knew you'd all pull through." Elaine said as Eliza smirked back at her friend.
"Hey a little competition is what I came here for, so if it were so easy it wouldn't be worth the trip. So Viper how do you feel about our performence?" Eliza asked with a sly grin curious as Viper rolled his eyes a bit before he gave his deadpan reply.
"Eh, could be improved a bit. Solid B-. One thing is clear we are not against any chumps if those Lamia Scale guys are any sign. So be prepared for anything."
After Ara would stop spinning and gave Serebus one tight, last hug, she would put her down, but still kept a hand on her shoulders. She then faced everyone that was from her guild that was present.
"Alright, ya' mooks!" Ara announced, "Enough of just sitting around! We have to celebrate our achievement! And what better way to do that..." Ara then grabbed a champagne bottle. "...than to throw an epic party~!" She popped the bottle, all of the liquid spewing out from the top all over the guild mates that were closest to Ara.
Although Ara was tired from the preliminaries, she couldn't just not take the opportunity to celebrate. She wanted this excitement to last for as long as possible.
Mark would get up from his seat, aiming to carry Brendan along with him, and shouted, "Hell yeah! Ara's got the right attitude, everybody! Let's party!" He would then take another chug at his beverage. Cat, on the other hand, just gave a silent thumbs up and smile as reserved as she usually is.
