Private/Closed Tales of Ender Eye (Fairy Tail RP)

Viper and Elaine had decided that, based on the size of the boulder they would not have been able to avoid it and based on its speed Viper would not have been able to outrun it, to use a bit of teamwork to overpower it.

Viper had built up his magic, much as Elaine did the same as the boulder approached them. Elaine hopped on her feet as if to set herself while Viper jumped back behind her as he took a deep breath.

Focus on the force of the roar, not the poison or magic power. Just loud enough to add a little momentum.

"Poison Dragon Roar!" Viper yelled out as he fired a stream of, rather than the usual powerful poison magic, mostly hot air as he used simply the force of the roar itself and suppressed the magic. This made it not very effective for combat, but it had been useful as Elaine then took a deep breath as she began to dash forward using her speed magic and soon felt the powerful force of the wind generated by force of Viper's vocal roar. This pushed the already speedy Elaine forward at an ever greater rate as within a second she made it in front of the boulder as she then jumped and coated her leg with magic.

"Speed Strike!"

With the boost given by Viper, Elaine had been propelled forward with enough speed to smash through the boulder as it crumbled to pieces. As Elaine dropped down, she turned back to Viper and gave her partner a thumbs up. Viper merely nodded before the two continued forward.

Savannah eventually had gotten her temper, and her hair, back under control as she and Bolt continued to advance through the maze before they came to a pass. With paths on the left and right side as Savannah's eyes darted back and forth between them as she tried to decide which path was the right one.

Okay, no big deal. Just gotta use some make-shift inspectors.

Savannah generated a pair of sand-make toy mice, as she wound them up and sent them in opposite directions. The two mice rounded the corners as they ventured off. And Savannah and Bolt would wait to see if either would return as they wanted to see which was the "right" path to progress on.

Orion and Fallon both had been slowly making their way towards the center of the maze. Fallon was growing impatient on how slow they were going though. On the other hand, Orion was cautious with every single step they were taking.

"Can't we get moving already?" Fallon complained, wanting the thrill out of the maze. he might seem a lazy guy, but he actually thrives for adventure when he wants to.

"Did you already forget?" Orion huffed out. "You ran through the maze and already triggered 7 traps," Orion exclaimed. "Impressive, but not very favorable is it."

Fallon simply rolled his eyes, getting a bit annoyed. "Yeah yeah," he grumbled, still clinging onto the fire on his palm. But suddenly he ran off on his own, leaving Orion in the dust.

"Hey!" Orion called out.

"Isn't this more fun?" Fallon said, as he somehow conveniently triggered 2 more traps in the progress. One trap opened up an entrance, which released a swarm of harpies. The other trap released a quicksand trap, that quickly engulfed both Fallon and Orion's lower half.

The unfortunate thing in this circumstance was that Orion and Fallon were many feet apart at this point. Looks like there's no teamwork for this battle. Orion quickly requiped into Crystal Atlantis Trident to freeze the quicksand around himself and break out.

"I give up," Orion complained as he shot down a couple of harpies with a water gush from the trident.

Barry looked at Frederick. "Alright then, I think the best course of action for what's ahead is..." Barry then dashed forwards at the flame trap. "...Run past as fast as we can!" He shouted as he ran, while looking at where he's stepping to not trigger the trap. Barry then miss stepped once and landed on a tile that sunk down. "Oops." He said before diving forwards and landing on his back before the flames shot out. The flames shot right above him, narrowly hitting him. "That was close." Barry said to himself as he jumped up and ran past the rest of the flame trap.

Ara and Cat jumped into the maze, with the mystical flame ready in Ara's hand. Everything was silent, but they both knew that this trial wouldn't be so simple to complete, so they kept their guard up. Not a single one of them moved a muscle as they surveyed the area, which seemed to look like a long hallway, looking for any type of trap. So far, there wasn't anything too noticable, but the tiled floor, which was gigantic in scale compared to themselves. They were like a sixth the size of the tile.

Ara didn't risk anything, however, so she then touched the floor, and exclaimed, "Ice Make: Slide!" and a slide made out of ice slid across the hallway. But, to the surprise of Cat and Ara, multiple arrows, that looked more like spears, were shot at the slide, breaking it on contact. From this, Ara concluded that it wasn't the tiles that were the trigger, it was motion that triggered the barrage of arrows.

Master Ed really likes to show his sadistic side with these trials, huh? Ara thought. Looks like there's only one thing to do....

"WE HAVE TO RUN THROUGH THIS WHOLE THING!" Ara exclaimed as she bolted at the hallway. And like anyone could've guessed, multiple arrows started coming in at great speeds, but Ara had a trick up her sleeve. "Ice Make: Pillar!" Ara exclaimed as a pillar was made that shot her straight up into the sky, the pillar she had made getting destroyed in the process. Once in the sky, Ara started jumping on the gigantic arrows and started making her way across the hallway. Cat noticed Ara's plan, and jumped in.

After some time, they were able to make it through the barrage of arrows, and landed on a tile. But....this tile then started glowing, and out of nowhere, a giant ball of stone came rolling down towards the two mages. "Are you serious? There are actually trap tiles!?" Cat exclaimed, before the two mages went running off, trying their best to avoid being crushed by the boulder.

The opinion that Master Ed had been a sadist seemed to gain tracking among the applicants, as Elaine and Viper arrived into the next section of the maze which appeared as a long hallway that had been rigged with giant buzz-saws that emerged from the ground at irregular patterns. This alone might not have been bad enough...

...had it not been for the fact that this hallway seemed to have a gimmick where it rotated around. This added some disorientation on top of the present danger of the buzz-saws present. Viper had to consider this a bit excessive for trials, but that meant little now as he and Elaine began to move through the ever rotating room with timely jumps. Though Viper felt a shiver go up his spin as the room suddenly stopped rotating which threw off the timing of one jump and as a result the back leggings of his pants were sliced clean through before he scrambled forward.

"You okay!?" Elaine asked as she moved next to Viper, who simply gave a nod before he felt the hallway begin to rotate around in the opposite direction as it seemed this section was full of surprises. Which Viper had reservations about.

The Guild Master should learn the difference between "keeping us on our toes" and "putting our lives at risk" when coming up for trials...

Savannah and Bolt had waited for what seemed like an eternity, but neither of the sand-mice that Savannah had made returned back to her which had been disconcerting.

Fantastic. That means there is something bad no matter which direction we go. That means it's a 50/50 chance we take the right path, and it won't be smooth sailing even if we guess right.

"Um Savannah, I don't mean to be picky but we really should get going. I don't think the mice are coming back." Bolt pointed out, which just confirmed what Savannah had already thought as she glanced to her left and right multiple times before she simply made her decision and began to walk to the right with Bolt as he followed close behind her. Only one thought drifted through the Sand-Make mage's head as they walked down their chosen path.

Man, I hope I picked the right path.

Fabian and Sabrina soon entered the portal and saw the same vast maze that the other mages have. Sabrina was in aw, though Fabian seemed to smile at it as the design of the maze itself intrigued him.

Interesting, I wonder how the master managed to set this all up?

Sabrina however had her own thoughts in mind. Fabian & herself, which was good in the sense she was happy they had that success. However, that also meant that Fabian had been one step closer towards becoming S-Class. Advancing and leaving her behind to...

"Hey Sabrina? Are you ready?"

Sabrina was snapped out of her thoughts when she heard the voice of Fabian speak to her, and offered a nod as she tried to mask her worries before the two advanced forward. They arrived in a long hallway, where the floor seemed to have two sets of marks that alternated back and forth all across the floor. One, a crimson red circle with a black dot on the center that almost looked like an iris to a red eye. The other, a golden star with a certain shine to it. Both Fabian and Sabrina guessed these markings were traps, though given there had been no place on the floor to touch they presumed that one set of marks caused one trap and the others perhaps were "safe" spaces.

Sabrina quickly generated a pair of smaller dolls and placed them within each space to see what happened. One doll, the one on the red eye, remained where it was while the one on the star fell through at that section of the maze floor seemed to give way.

"Alright, seems if we travel along the eye-thingies we'll be ok..." Sabrina started to say before Fabian cut him off. Fabian then generated what appeared to be a larger and heavier ball of blood as he dropped in on the red eye directly ahead of the one Sabrina's eyes rested on. Fabian dropped it and in a shocker it fell through as Fabian thought it over.

"It's not the designs, it's a patter. Which ones are the bad ones depend on some pre-set sequence. We have to figure out the pattern before we progress." Fabian explained as Sabrina figured that was a good explanation while she asked Fabian to generate some blood as Sabrina had an idea in mind.

As Savannah and Bolt walked down the right path, they soon came along another extended hallway segment and it had only taken a matter of seconds for Savannah to see what caused her sand mouse to disappear.

The hallway was completely covered in spikes, and there seemed to be no area one could walk through without stepping on one. But that had not been all. The walls and even the maze seeing for this section had spikes covered in them as well. Seems the only way through was via flight or through some kind of long jump variant.

Bolt latched on Savannah's back as he carried her through the hallway. Simply enough, Savannah simply needed to make sand-birds for fut...

Swoosh!

Savannah's thoughts had been cut off when one of the spikes shot up and sliced past her hair. This naturally caused Bolt and Savannah's eyes to widen but they had been able to compose themselves and handled this parlous situation with the level of calm focus and cool composure expected of an aspiring S-Class Mage and her partner.

"FLY! FLY AS FAST AS YOU CAN OR WE'RE GONNA DIE!"

"STOP YELLING! MAKE A SHIELD OR SOMETHING!"

"AHHH!"

After what seemed like an eternity, Viper and Elaine had made it through that disorientating section of the maze. The pair traveled around until they finally made it to the heart of the maze. What they had found was a large room that had multiple pillars and on the top of each pillar stood a lone crimson flame which was presumed to be the flame they needed to retrieve. Viper & Elaine figured each flame was for each pair and figured they had this one flame to protect meaning if it went out they'd fail.

"So, who should hold it?" Elaine asked, as Viper thought it over before he came to a decision.

"I think you should. Given your speed magic you could just take off and run if we end up short on time. Plus my magic allows for close and long range attacks so I'd be better at covering you and helping you get through any obstacles we encounter on our way back." Viper said, as he proposed his plan which sounded solid to Elaine.

"Alright, should be easy peasy." Elaine said as she walked up to one pillar and, with great care, lowered her hands under the flame and felt some psuedo-magnetic force as she was able to lift the flame and hold it in her hands without feeling the burn or even the heat of the flame; a precaution Elaine had to assume which seemed comical given the way the rest of this trial had been designed. Elaine turned to Viper and gave the Dragon Slayer a nod as she seemed ready for the race out of the maze.

"Okay, let's hit it."

----------
Eventually Fabian and Sabrina had come up with a plane to deal with the pattern of the floor below them. Sabrina had generated more blood-spot puppets, as she preferred to call them, and had them experiment with different patches on the floor. Sabrina had taken her sweet time doing this, as Fabian presumed that it merely was the result of great focus needed to do the task. Which had only been a half-truth, but Sabrina had been eager to keep that illusion up.

Eventually, though, they had been able to get all the rigged sections of the floor to drop which only left the stable ones as soon enough Fabian and Sabrina made it across as they continued on their own journey, and while Fabian had focused on preparations for whatever was to come Sabrina had her own internal struggles to compliment those that had been external.

Fredrick watched Barry cross the trap with a raised eyebrow, then when the dark dragon slayer had crossed, he formed wings of liquid shadows and glided over the traps, landing beside him. "We better be observant of other traps around here. Who knows what forms of torture or danger the guildmaster put in this labyrinth. He's kinda hard to read." Walking ahead, Fredrick shifted his gaze all over, left and right, for even the tiniest details out of place.

----------------------------------

Staying with Master Ed and tending to Cyrus's injuries, Jeanne was quiet as she occasionally glanced up at the screening of the exams, wondering how everyone else was doing. "Hey guildmaster? Quick question: why do you seem so nonchalant toward the magic council?" she asked eventually, remembering his reaction to Draxus.

Ara and Cat kept running from the wrecking ball, which seemed to be getting faster and faster by the minute, but Ara was growing quite tired of running away and stopped in her tracks.

"ICE MAKE: WALL!" Ara exclaimed loudly as she created a gigantic wall made of ice, which was thick enough to stop the ball in it's own tracks. Ara and Cat took a deep sigh, glad that they were done with running away.

But, much to their dissmay, they activated yet another trap. The floor beneath them started shaking, and, before they knew it, Ara and Cat were shot into the air. More pillars then popped up, tripping Ara and Cat along the way.

Ara looked at Cat, and they both nodded. The two then started using their own spells to move away from the pillars, also destroying them in the process.

The two then landed, but where they landed wasn't the most pleasant, as it was a pit filled with magical bugs. Cat started screaming nd using her fire magic to try and get the bugs off of her, but she took it a bit too extreme and used her fire magic in the pit, taking Ara with it.

When Cat was done attacking and screaming, an angry Ara glared down at Ara, and Cat looked down in disappointment. Ara sighed, and patted Cat on the head. "It's fine, I'm not mad at you," Ara said, "Now let's finish this trial together! And, try not to fry me up with your next attack." Cat smiled, and nodded, with a sly blush on her face.

Brendan and Marc sprinted down the long hallway as the walls quickly closed in on each other, threatening to crush both mages. "Damn, it feels like it is moving faster!" Marc shouted as they neared the exit, though it didn't look like the two were going to make it, plus the gate was also closing!

"We're not going to ma--"

Click!

Not realizing anything, Brendan had tripped yet another trap and the stone tile beneath him and Marc disappeared and the two began falling into a deep abyss before the two finally reached the bottom. Brendan quickly activated his magic and grabbed onto Marc for dear life and slowed their descent until they safely reached the bottom.

"What the hell was that?!" Marc yelled, panting from the sprint but also the fear of the fall.
Brendan stood up and looked around, it appeared they had fallen into some cavern either beneath the maze or into a lower portion of the maze, "Master Ed sure does like to give us a good scare, I bet he is laughing at us right now." Brendan muttered as he scanned the room for some sort of exit.

"Right there!" Marc exclaimed, pointing toward a giant stone slab that appeared to be blocking some sort of path. Marc then transformed into his Metal Bear and began trying to push the stone slab out of the way, but it didn't budge. "Little help here?" Marc asked in a metallic voice.

"That thing has to weigh well over 1 ton." Brendan said as he equipped a huge metal sledge hammer and activated his Meteor spell. "Alright let's do this!" Brendan yelled.

"Right!" Marc responded before he began pushing with all his might and Brendan flew above him and slammed his hammer into the side of the slab with all the momentum of the Meteor, the back of his hammer then glew red with explosion magic and exploded creating even more force.

The mages roared out as the slab began to crawl forward before being completely flung to the opposite side they were pushing, creating a huge 'thud' sound.

The two mages gave each other a fist bump before entering the room they had just uncovered. Though, the two had not expected what was to come next. Flames erupted from the back of the room, surprising Brendan and Marc. They hadn't uncovered a way back to the maze, they had entered a lair and had just awakened whatever monster called it home...

"Fallon, honestly just stop," Orion's voice visibly raised. The audacity the summoner mage had. Orion was beginning to regret choosing Fallon as his partner, but he's gotta make do with what he can. After the two barely managed to escape the harpies and quicksand, it was just more traps after another. Where the hell are all the puzzles? Was it just misfortune that Orion and Fallon had followed a trap filled path this whole time? Mazed usually consists of puzzles, but the two hasn't been able to encounter any puzzles at all.

"Aww, are you getting all whiny on me now Orion," Fallon cooed as he ran ahead again. A sarcastic laugh could be heard behind Fallon. "Don't roll your eyes at me now Orion, you'll see your brain that way." A sharp gasp came from Orion as Fallon just chuckled. But his happy demeanor was stopped when they were confronted by eight doors, all of which had some sort of letter on them.

"FINALLY," Orion exclaimed. "A puzzle! I've had enough traps, no thanks to you." Orion said, softly punching Fallon. A groan ripped from Fallon as he sat down, crossing his legs.

"Solve that or whatever..." A pout was seen on Fallon. Orion rolled his eyes and gave a small smirk at the summoner before turning his head back on the puzzle at hand. Each door has a letter in respective order: E n d e r e y e

It was a few minutes before Orion shouted. "I got it!" The shout woke up the the apparent sleeping Fallon, who in which case, almost closed his palm, almost killing off the given fire,

"Give that to me.." Orion said, ripping the fire off of Fallon's palm. "Anyways, we go through the first door. Every other door is a lower case letter while the first door holds a capitol E. Easy enough."

"Didn't seem easy when it took you a while to finish."

"Didn't seem easy for you as you fell asleep sweetie"

Fallon shut up after that and only followed Orion through the first door. They were led through a small corridor and a bright light was seen ahead. A small "yes" was heard from Fallon as he rushed out, only to be greeted with more doors. "Noooooo..." Fallon fell to his knees, jaw practically dropping to the ground.

Orion walked up to the summoner. "Looks like you get to sleep more." Orion stated as he petted the summoners head. "Let the intellectuals handle this sweetie." Orion cooed jokingly.

With that expected grace and cool composure one expected from the pair given their performance to this point...

"SHIT SHIT SHIT!!!

"WE'RE GONNA DIE!!!"

...as they flew through the air, and spikes continued to spring up and nearly impale them they tried to clear the hallway. Savannah used Sand-Make shields to block the spikes while Bolt continued to fly the pair forward and around any spikes that Savannah had not time to block. It had been rather stressful to say the least but eventually the pair made it across the hallway as they tumbled along the floor. Both took a moment to catch a breath to help settle the nerves before Savannah glanced back at that literal death room and then faced Bolt as she let out a sigh.

"Tell me Bolt, has any mage who competed in these trials...you know, failed to make it out of one of these rooms?" Savannah asked as Bolt offered a shrug.

"I don't think so. Master is a bit...extreme, as far as testing us but I don't think he'd keep an accidental death a secret." Bolt replied as Savannah shook her head before she stood back up as Bolt took to the air again and the two progressed forward.

And eventaully the came to a new room, one that had been without a trap. Though there appeared to be some sort o board on a stand along with various pieces scattered around the floor. That meant one thing and one thing only.

A puzzle huh? I'll take that over spikes any day of the week.

Elaine and Viper began their journey back, as Viper took the lead while Elaine held the flame in her hands as she remained close behind. Viper figured that the journey back would have been easier, given they triggered the traps previously and indeed had began to progress well as they walked through one old room that already had its trap sprung.

------------
Fabian and Sabrina lacked that benefit, though it appeared they caught a break as the encountered a fragmented sphere in the center of a large section of hallway that had been closed off at one end.

"A puzzle? Seems the master is not just filing this with death traps." Fabian said, as he began to scan the fragmented colors. Sabrina had as well, her own conflicted thoughts aside, as it seemed each "fragment" had enough space to be shifted around. Which meant that this thing had to be rearranged. Something Fabian and Sabrina had already began to do.

"And that's the last of it!"

Bolt, who had flown around the section of the hallway to gather the various pieces of the puzzle set on the stand, proclaimed his task complete as Savannah gave a nod before she began to tinker with the pieces. As anyone who did puzzles knew, it was the corners that you had to start with. Then work your way to the heart of it.

"Bolt, separate the pieces that could be corner or wall ones and the ones that are not. We need to get a border." Savannah explained as Bolt seemed to understand that simply enough.

"Alright, no problem." Bolt said as he began to rearrange the puzzle pieces, and after a couple minutes managed to do just as Savannah asked as two piles were made to meet those specifications. Savannah gave a nod as she took the pieces with at least a smooth side to them and began to tinker around with them. After a minute of guess and check, a pattern seemed to emerge as soon enough the border had been completed. Savannah seemed pleased, but also knew the hard part had yet to come.

Alright, now for the bulk of it. You can do this Savannah. You have to.

Fabian worked rather diligently, as he shifted the pieces all around him on the floor puzzle, as he aimed to get this done as quickly and efficiently as possible. Fabian even began to generate some blood extensions to help shift around other pieces as he seemed to be making some good progress.

Sabrina however, seemed to have a harder time. She had gotten some pieces adjusted correctly, and with some more blood-dolls using blood Fabian generously donated, she covered just as much ground. Though it seemed Sabrina had taken a bit longer than Fabian, and was more prone to mistakes. Though most of this seemed by design as Sabrina struggled with her internal thoughts...

If we pass, he moves one step closer to S-Class. One step closer to being off to bigger things...without me....b-but what I am supposed to do? He's my friend...no, he's like family. I can't do this to him...but...but...

A montrous, thunderous roar came out of the lair Marc and Brendan had encountered, and the floor then started shaking. Loud thumping noises could be heard coming from the lair, and it seemed to only get louder and louder. Before Marc or Brendan could even figure out where, or what, the noise was coming from, a gigantic fireball was launched towards the two mages.

Marc was able to jump out of the way in time, and used Take Over to transform into his Minotaur form. "Where the hell did that come from!?" Marc explained, but, before he could say anything more, a gigantic wolf was about to jump and pounce at him. Marc got ready to punch the creature, but the wolf then lit up in flames and Marc's punch merely went through the beast. Marc let out a yelp of agony as he took out his hand from the beast. Smoke seemed to have been coming from Marc's hand. He was burnt pretty badly.

Tch, dammit! These dogs seem to be smarter than they look! But I'll just have to try my best as well! Marc then used his Take Over once more, and this time transformed into his Mishipeshu form. He then charged the beast once more, as a flow of water streamed from behind him.

----------------------------------------------

Ara and Cat still went throughout the maze, but unlike the others, they didn't have any type of trap set up on them. They both found it quite weird. How come nothing or no one has attacked them, yet? Though, both mages kept their guards up, but then they saw....

"The Mystical Flame!" Cat exclaimed in glee as she looked on at the pedastal which was burning brightly. She then was about to run up to the pedastal, before Ara stopped her. "Wait," Ara said, "What if this is a trap? Keep ypur guard up, and look around for anything that may seem suspicious."

Both mages then started looking around for a sign of a trap. Looking, and searching, and silence. They would not quit until they made sure the room was safe.

Brendan leapt out of the way of the giant fireball that was speeding toward the two mages, "I think we awakened something!" The blue-haired mage exclaimed before charging the beast with his Meteor spell as it was about to pounce Marc ,though he too went through the beast as it lit up in flames.

Brendan slid across the ground to stop his momentum, his clothes were singed and the sword he had attacked with had nearly melted. "I doubt physical attacks will be effective if they can just do that." Brendan muttered a bit annoyed, though he noticed what Marc was doing and smirked before requiping into his Sea Emperor Armor and lepted onto Marc's stream of water and added to it with his own water.

The mage rode the now huge wave of water, "Whenever you're ready, Marc!" Brendan exclaimed with a blade infused with water magic in hand.

Barry followed Frederick from behind also watching out for any potential traps. He then walked into a certain are and arrows started shooting out of the walls. "What? But I didn't trigger anything!" He shouted before jumping over the arrows. "Hey Seraph! There might be movement activated traps here too so be careful." He shouted towards Frederick.
Barry then heard a howl coming from nearby. "Oh crap, is that one of those wolves?"

"Right!" Marc exclaimed as water magic started forming around Marc's....paw, hand(?) and he would then shoot the magical energy at the wolf, but the wolf would then lose it's solidity and fall like lava unto the floor. The wolf would then become solid again, and roar out two fireballs directed towards both mages.

Marc would cover his whole body in water magic, and charge right through the fireball, but. as soon as he did so, the wolf was right in front of him and slammed Marc unto the floor with his tail.

Marc spat out a bit of blood. Damn! It looks like Master Ed isn't messing around! He must have some kind of control on this creature, because there's no way it can coordinate this well as a rabid animal!

"Need some help Sabrina?"

Fabian, who had been working at a rapid pace as he altered his floor pieces, had taken notice of Sabrina's slowed pace which had been a puzzling development. Sabrina was rather bright for her age and something similar to these puzzles should have been a breeze for the doll mage.

Sabrina snapped out of her daze as she gave Fabian a sheepish grin as she knew she had to say something.

"Oh, sorry just a bit of pressure is all. Getting better, I have a handle on this I promise." Sabrina assured Fabian, as a wave of guilt washed over her but she resumed "focus" on working on the puzzle on her end much as Fabian had continued to do on his.

---------------
Viper and Elaine continued their trip back, as Viper used Poison Dragon Claws to slice away incoming arrows that had shot from the walls in the room they dashed through while Elaine had kept focus on guarding the flame as she kept a firm grip on it to avoid dropping it. So far, they had done well as they made it through the arrow room and continued their path that they hoped would lead to the maze exit.

"Come on, come on. Just fit darn you..."

Savannah had gone through some struggles as she worked to solve the puzzle. In a different circumstance, had it been just a causal puzzle, Savannah would have likely finished by now. But given the added pressure of the trial it caused the normally sharp make mage to make some foolish mistakes. Something Savannah scolded herself over mentally. Bolt noticed the sweat that had dripped from Savannah's forehead and decided he needed to encourage her.

"Hey, take it easy. You are one of the smartest people I know. You can crack this puzzle easy. You just gotta settle down a bit and not try to rush it too much." Bolt advised, and Savannah had half a mind to snap at Bolt with some quip but she knew the Exceed had been right as indeed she took a deep breath and began to re-focus as she altered her pace.

You got this, just take it one piece at a time. This is nothing, just gotta approach this how you would any other puzzle. Don't let the pressure beat you...

After all the random puzzles Fallon and Orion dealt with, they finally made to the end of the puzzle hallway or what not. "Finally," Fallon said a loud and start to speed up and move forward. Unfortunately for him, he was met with another thing. this time not an obstacle.

Orion, having been left behind, caught up with Fallon at last, He was greeted with 7 pedestals in the center of the room, none of which were lit yet. Orion turned to Fallon who annoyed. "Are yous serious?" Fallon exclaimed. "After all those damn puzzles, we are met with the center of the maze. You know what? Whatever, put the damn flame on the pedestal already."

Orion gave a slight smirk, finding the tantrum quite cute. But listening to Fallon, Orion made his way towards to the first pedestal and placed his flame on there.

Ed was looing at the event that were going on in the maze with a lacrima before he heard Jeanne's question. "Why? Its quite simple, they don't scare me. They think that just because they have the rank of magic council they can go boss everyone around saying that its their duty. Well I'm not letting them boss me around, I'm keeping my freedom to act how I like and I'm also making sure that everyone in my guild can do the same." Ed said with a warm smile. He then looked back at the lacrima. "Looks like team Orion and Fallon are the first ones to pass." He said out loud.

Eventually progress had been made. Sabrina could only have fumbled around with the pieces for so long before Fabian had grown possibly suspicious. Still though Sabrina's "struggles" had delayed the pair but eventually they had completed the floor puzzle. Which showed it was the Ender Eye mark. Once the mark had formed, it glowed momentarily before the end of the path opened.

And Fabian and Sabrina continued their path, as they ventured closer to the center where the flames were supposed to be. Or at least they hoped so.

Brendan grit his teeth as the wolf continued to show more and more new abilities. This was starting to drag on and they really didn’t have the time to be doing this, who’s knows if someone had already gotten them flame.

Before Brendan could do anything, Marc was hit by the wolf’s tail. “Marc!” Brendan exclaimed before the wolf suddenly appeared in front of him and headbut him, burning him a bit but also sending flying into the wall behind him with great force.

Brendan gave a hefty grunt as he pulled himself up and wiped some blood off of his chin. “Marc, can you take over this thing?” Brendan asked, requiping back into his normal clothing, “We need to beat this thing fast or we’ll lose.”

Marc looked towards Brendan, and responded, "Easier said than done. In order for my Take Over magic to work, I need to be able to touch the creature and make magic circles to possess it's powers. However, this fire wolf doesn't really have a solid enough form for me to grab unto. I'm going to need to get it distracted, and I think I have a plan!"

Marc then touched the floor, and a stream of water started running across the pavement. The wolf seemed to be backing away, but then, suddenly, the water formed into tentacles and started attacking the wolf. The wolf was able to dodge each attack, but this left it open.

"BRENDAN!" Marc exclaimed, "ATTACK IT NOW!"

"Right!" Brendan exclaimed as he shot toward with his Meteor spell at his top speed, with his recently acquired Warhammer in hand. The mage was hoping that he was going to fast for the wolf to go lava mode or what ever exactly it did.

Brendan yelled outa s he went into a violent spin before striking the wolf with the hammer with incredible force, creating a giant metallic clank sound. The wolf yelped as it fell to the ground, tripped by the force of the attack and Marc's water tentacles.

"Now's your chance! I'll try to keep it down while you take it over!" Brendan exclaimed, flying above the wolf and shooting at concentrated beam of Heavenly Body Magic at the wolf, pining it as best as he could. It was now all up to Marc's abilities.

Fredrick nodded to Barry and cast his glance to the dark liquid pooling at his feet. The flowing darkness enveloped the both of them into a sphere, solidifying on the surface. At the front there was a small opening "You probably remember this technique. This should keep us safe. Just stay close; the less of the liquid I have to expand, the more dense the shield, ergo the better we are protected." Fredrick then began to walk through the motion sensors that had fired the arrows, occasionally stopping to listen and check for any other kinds of traps.

"Right!" Marc exclaimed as he rushed towards the beast, and transformed into his King Vulcan form. He then rushed towards the creature, and grabbed it in a bear-hug. Two magical circles then appeared on Marc's hand and unto the beast, which caused the beast to be absorbed. While the beast was trying to fight back, it was inevitable, and Marc ultimately Took Over the beast.

Marc then started panting vigorously, and said, "Take Over complete", as his arm then turned similar to that of the wolf they had just fought, but then it combusted to flames.

"Now that we put out this flame, how about we get that eternal flame unto the pedestal!?" Marc asked as he then started running out of the area they were just in. With this new Take Over, Marc had enhanced smell. His werewolf form had a good sense of smell, sure, but the fire wolf was different, he could smell fire.

"I just picked up a perculiar scent!" Marc exclaimed, "Follow me!"

"On your left!"

"Got it, watch out above you!"

"On it!"

Viper and Elaine had maneuvered through what they presumed to be the last room before the exist, form the path they had taken, as they weaved in and out of the path of multiple buzzsaws that jutted out from the floor, ceiling and walls at irregular intervals. Viper would have questioned the ethical or safety concerns with having a room of saws, but compared to what he and Elaine had experienced to this point Viper had just considered this par for the course.

The important factor was that Viper had managed to keep Elaine moving and Elaine had managed to keep the flame safely held in her hands. Eventually, the two jumped between a pair of giant buzzsaws on the ceiling and floor before they dazed out of the exit as before they knew it the pair made it out of the maze with the fire safe and secure in Elaine's hands.

"Just one more piece and...got it!"

Savannah, who had been moving through the puzzle at a more relaxed pace, finally managed to make progress as she completed the puzzle which seemed to form the symbol of an Exceed head. A...curious one to have said the least, but as Savannah completed it the door at the end of the hallway. Good, now she and Bolt could progress and...

Clang!

The sounds of....cages opening? Some chamber being opened, Savannah had not been sure. But what she had been sure of something had happened.

And as Bolt's eyes widened, he quickly latched onto Savannah's back as he began to fly them forward. Savannah had naturally been confused.

"Um, Bolt what is going..." Savannah said before an ear-splitting roar had been heard through their room and well beyond. Now she understood. Something, or some things, were coming...and they sounded rather unfriendly...

Brendan landed back unto ground, out of breath, "Phew, that was tough and time consuming, though I think it was worth it." The blue-haired mage said, looking at Marc's arm that had just combusted into flames.
"You're right, we should probably do that and fast. I bet someone has probably already gotten it." Brendan said, running after Marc out of the wolf's lair.

Brendan smirked when Marc said he had picked up a particle scent, "I guess it was a good thing that you took over that wolf." Brendan said, quickly following after Marc.

As Sabrina and Fabian progressed, the sounds of metal shifting, almost like a cage opening, had been made clear to them much as it had to Savannah and Bolt though they had no way to know this. Either way, Fabian sensed whatever below them that made this rumbling noise could not have been a good thing.

"We should get a move on. Can't afford to slow our progress any longer." Fabian encouraged as Sabrina gave a nod...though had already began to form her own idea in her head even as she walked alongside Fabian.

Marc kept following the scent he had picked up quite a while ago, and the smell just kept getting stronger and stronger as Marc kept moving forward.

Marc had then suddenly stopped as he looked ahead of him, and saw a giant golden pedestal that had a small flame lit to it.

"We found it!" Marc exclaimed gleefully, "Finally! After going through this literal hell of a maze, we actually found it!" Marc then started running towards the pedestal, presenting himself so that Brendan could put the flame upon it.

-----------------------------------------

After some time of looking through the room, there didn't seem to be any kinds of traps. Both mages then took a sigh of relief.

"So, this is the place!" Cat said boldy, "I knew that maze couldn't hold us down!"

Ara chuckled and said, "You're right, but it's not over, yet." Ara then held out her hand, which held the eternal flame. She then started walking up to pedestal, placing the fire into the pedestal.

Savannah and Bolt had made some progress, before they heard the sounds of loud footsteps that seemed to close in behind them as they came to another pass.

"Left or right!" Bolt said in a panic as he left the decision to Savannah who in turn was panicked herself due to whatever thing was after them along with the short time she had to make.

"L-left!" Savannah said as Bolt turned that direction. Soon they were led to some sort of room that seemed to lock behind them and locked the entrance ahead of them. Some sort of trap room, with what appeared to be another puzzle.

"Darn it, don't have time for this." Savannah said as Bolt dropped her and Savannah headed to the puzzle...only for the wall behind her to cave in as she and Bolt saw a giant wolf enter as it howled at them and showed its sharp teeth. Savannah cursed as Bolt yelped before he latched onto her back and lifted Savannah away in the air to avoid a pounce and claw strike. Savannah already prepared for battle as she generated sand bow and arrows.

This is great, just what we needed for these exams. Killer wolves. Was thinking this exam wasn't dangerous enough. Thanks master!

"Watch out!"

Fabian and Sabrina jumped to avoid contact with a ferocious paw from a giant wolf; the feral beast having emerged from an underground chamber in the room they appeared in. Seems Master Ed had not finished with his surprises as Faiban generated blood wings while Sabrina summoned her giant teddy bear doll and jumped on it as both she and Fabian assumed battle positions. Fabina considered their options as he scanned the room.

If we try to flee, it will chase us. Though given the tight space we hold the maneuverability advantage. In theory we could take this out and still have time to get the flames. We just have to play this smart, not do anything to waste time or act recklessly.

Sabrina seemed eager to make the first move, as she charged forward and had her teddy deliver a claw strike to the wolf which caused the beast to winch as it was forced back. Fabian had been quick to follow as he fired a series of "blood bullets" at the wolf to pelt the downed beast; though the creature's blood howl as it got back up showed it was far from finished as it charged and delivered a pair of twin slashes as Sabrina's teddy which knocked the Doll-Attack mage back. The wolf then glared at Fabian as he let out a cry which produced a powerful soundwave that splattered the blood bullets apart and knocked Fabian back as he crashed towards the ceiling.

Both Sabrina and Fabian recovered as they circled the beast and tried to think of a new plan of attack. Seems this beast would not go down so easily, which only served to cause them problems. They needed to finish this quickly, time had not been on their side and unknown to Fabian Sabrina had already formed her own idea which aimed to complicated things all the more...

A sense of relief came over Brendan when he saw the giant golden pedestal, “Wow Marc, that was awesome.” Brendan said walking toward the pedestal, gazing into the small flame.

The blue-haired mage then glanced toward Marc, nodded as a way to thank the Drake Twin, without his help Brendan probably wouldn’t had made it this far. Then, the mage placed he eternal flame on the pedestal, creating a much larger fire.

“Alright, now what? Do we just wait here?" Brendan asked looking around to see if anything that had changed or looked out of the ordinary.
