“To the powerful warriors whose strength has not gone unnoticed, I hereby welcome you to my own, personal tournament, being held at Smash Brothers Mansion. There will be many great fighters, such as yourself there, and the winner of said tournament will receive the official Smash Trophy upon receiving first place. Feel free to bring up to 2 friends. I hope to see you all soon!” -Sebastian Grimsbane

What is this tournament? Who is this strange man? 24 fighters all thought roughly the same thing, as they received identical letters. Some war heroes, some common people, some monsters, some geniuses. Though different they shall all go through a similar fate.

"Gosh Donald, what do you make of this?"

"I think this is too fishy. Only a big palooka would consider going."

Sora, along with his companions Donald Duck and Goofy, had been in the main hall of Disney Castle as Sora had received a rather odd letter in the mail that had been addressed to him. Who was this Sebastian? What was a Smash Tournament? Nobody in the room had any way of knowing.

"I don't know guys, I mean it sounds...weird I guess but perhaps it could be something interesting for me to explore. With Riku and Lea training Kairi I need a way to get back into shape after the whole "Revival of Organization XII" thing. Besides, maybe I can find possible allies to join us in the fight." Sora replied, as Goofy seemed convinced by that though Donald held personal reservations.

"I don't know, this whole thing just smells funny to me."

All throughout one of Eggman's bases, a blue blur dashed through as various Eggman robots were bashed to pieces. It had been none other than the Fastest Thing Alive, Sonic the Hedgehog. Who at the moment had a rather cocky smirk on his face as he took apart whatever Eggbots had been laid out for him.

"That all you got Egghead? You really need to step up your game." Sonic replied, as he had not been one to pass out a chance to taunt his arc-enemy as he dashed around the facility.

"Bah! Hold still you stupid plumber!"

Bowser, who had just missed crushing his arch-enemy Mario with a Bowser Bomb, cursed at the plumber dashed around while an odd pair of eyeballs on his hat had a weary look on its face.

"Be careful Mario, we'll be crushed by this guy if we are not careful." Cappy, Mario's companion who had made a temporary home in his hat said as Mario replied with a nod.

"I know, let's-a-go!" Mario said as he managed to get behind Boweser and grab his tail, before he then began to spin around and by extension spin Bowser around before he tossed him over to a wall of Bowser's castle. The turtle dragon having crashed clean through it, though this seemed to agitate more than injure Bowser as he had been quick to get back on his feet and let out a loud roar.

Samus Aran, intergalactic bounty hunter, had been reading an odd letter her recent clientele had provided her after she completed another job. To say the contents of it had been puzzling to her to have said the very least.

Something about this is odd, how would whoever this Sebastian is even know where he could have found me? This is a lot to consider to say the least..

"Do you have any idea what this is, Shulk?" Dunban asked, looking towards his friend and protege. "This tournament? This Smash Brother Mansion...?"
"I dunno." Shulk replied. "I'm not even sure where this letter came from. There doesn't seem to be a return address..."
"What's this weird symbol, then?" Fiora butted in, walking across the room. "It's like a circle, but with some sort of incision... is there a reason for it?"
"Dunno." Shulk said. "What I do know is that the letter says we can bring one or two friends of our choosing with us. Fiora, I'd like you and Reyn to fight alongside me."
"I'll get Melia and Riki, then." Dunban stated.
"What about Sharla?" Fiora asked.
"Someone needs to watch the home front." Dunban replied. "Plus, I doubt Sharla's going to want to leave Juju behind."
"Makes sense. I'll go get the weapons." Shulk said, getting up and heading towards where they kept their store.
"You don't need one, do you Shulk?"
"Heh. Guess you remembered after all." Shulk replied, summoning the True Monado and placing it over his shoulder.

"Interesting..." Dr. Eggman mused, looking over the letter.
"Is something the matter, boss?" Orbot asked.
"It's just that I can't make heads or tails of this thing." the mad doctor stated. "It's like this thing just appeared out of nowhere! And what does it even mean? Why was I invited to a tournament, anyhow?"
"Ooh! Ooh! Maybe this Sebastian guy wants to pit you and Sonic against each other in a battle and have you fight some other guys just because?"
"...you're suggesting the hedgehog might be there...?"
"Well, maybe. Considering you got invited and he beats you all the time, he could be considered stronger than-"
Eggman slammed Cubot into cube form and threw him through a window. All of a sudden, he spotted something. SomeONE.
"WHAT?! ORBOT, WHY IS SONIC DASHING AROUND MY FACILITY?! WHY WAS I NOT INFORMED?!"
"You said you didn't want any disturbances while you were studying the note, boss!"
Eggman slammed Orbot into orb form and threw him through the same window as Cubot.

"This court pronounces the defendant, Maya Fey... NOT GUILTY!" The Judge shouted. Cheers went out as the blue-suited, spiky-haired lawyer rubbed the back of his head and chuckled. His protege, Athena Cykes, smiled and laughed. Maya Fey smiled towards her friends as Simon Blackquill looked away.
"Court is adjourned." the Judge proclaimed, slamming his hammer down. As people began to file over to the courtroom, Athena and Maya started jumping around happily.
"Geez, you two are so excitable..." Phoenix Wright stated.
"Y'know, I probably should be used to this by now." Maya pondered. "I mean, I get into situations like this so much..."
"You weren't kidding when you said she was a trouble magnet..." Athena said to her boss. Phoenix chuckled as Maya got worked up.
"...Wright-dono." Blackquill stated, walking over to them. The trio looked at the prosecutor.
"Uh, yeah...?" Wright replied.
"I would like to speak with Athena." Blackquill said. "May I take her away from you two for a while?"
"Sure." Phoenix said. He was able to trust Blackquill, as he knew he was like a father to Athena. He had even become a death row prisoner in order to protect her. Blackquill was a good man. As the prosecutor walked away, Athena in tow, Blackquill glanced back towards the defense attorney.
"Oh, and also. Your daughter is waiting for you just outside." Blackquill stated before walking off.
"You know, you never did clarify how exactly it is that Trucy's your daughter, Nick..."
"She's adopted, I thought I told you this already!"

Link was relaxing at home when a courier brought him a letter, saying he didn't know who the sender was. He opened the letter, and it was an invitation to a tournament. Seeing as how Link didn't have anything better to do, he accepted. As soon as he did so his mind, a bizarre horse carriage appeared outside of his home. Link climbed in the back, and began his voyage to... wherever the "Smash Mansion" was.

"Oh? What's this? Ganon pondered aloud from his base in the Gerudo Desert, as a skeleton servant proposed him with a letter. Ganon skimmed over the letter, grumbling as he read. "A tournament? that sounds like the perfect opportunity for me to seize the triforce from that brat, once and for all! of course i accept!" Ganon slammed the letter into the arm of his throne, and it dissipated in a purple haze. Soon after he did so, a moblin ran towards Ganon and pointed to the bizarre horse carriage outside of the castle gates. The king of evil stood up, and climbed aboard the carriage. They vanished in a dark cloud of smoke, off towards heir destination.

Funky Kong was hanging out at Funky's armory, blasting music through his speakers, when Squawks came through the window and presented him with a letter. "What's this, yo?" Funky read the letter, aloud for part of it, and had a big grin on his face as he read the end. "Come on Squawks, we're going to a tournament!" Funky walked out of his shop, with a Coconut gun on his back and Squawks on his shoulder. He climbed down the vine that leads to his hut in Jungle Japes, and saw a flying car waiting for him at the bottom. "Hey, far out!" Funky called, as he climbed in. The car gained height, before eventually taking off at high speeds into the horizon. at this point, many opponents were on their way to the tournament, for the most part unknowing of who else was on their way as well.

Sans sat at the table second to the entrance at Grilby's, a bottle of ketchup in one hand. "and the message comes now." He said quietly when his brother, Papyrus, ran in with a letter. "A LETTER FOR YOU, SANS." Pap said in his cheerful voice. Sans opened it, but already knew what it was for. He did come from other timelines. With full knowledge about what was going on and where to go, Sans used his 'shortcut' over to the location stated.

Little Sister walked slowly across the long road of her undersea home. Laying on the hard brick, a letter layed on the ground. "What's this?" She said in her quiet voice. Big Daddy walked beside of her, eyes out for anyone around her. The sister picked up the paper, reading it through. "So, a battle. Wanna do it?" She asked her robot father.

Bomberman, more specifically, White Bomberman, stared at the letter he’d received. He’d had no idea how it had reached him, or Planet Bomber at all, based on its return address. He’d exited his own house, which contained him and his 6 other brothers and sisters, worried it was something from the Buggler Army or a threat of some kind sent as a prank, sent under the name “Sebastian Grimsbane”. Opening the letter, White Bomberman read it aloud to himself, and said the words “I accept.” after, thinking it would do something. A portal was summoned. Being cautious of what was in it, he entered the portal.

Skull Kid walked throughout the Lost Woods. Where he used to live ages ago, when he wasn’t tricking others and playing pranks. Using his own bizarre teleportation powers, Skull Kid snapped his fingers and teleported to the location of Link, appearing on the horse carriage next to Link, stealing the letter that Link had and reading it, and accepting it. “So, long time no see, Link.” muttered Skull Kid, handing the letter back to Link.

Shantae had scanned the letter that had been curiously mailed out to her, and while she had a great number of questions that concerned what this "Smash Tournament" was, she decided that if she did not go she would forever have that wonder of "what if" as she pressed against the odd seal at the bottom, which caused a sudden portal to appear and soon enough what appeared to be some sort of hovering limousine.

"Man, you know how to travel in style." Shantae complimented, before she got inside and would be taken to this mystery location.

Kirby had been simply wandering around a forest when a letter appeared before him. Being curious as ever, Kirby scanned the letter only to graze upon the seal which caused a portal to appear. A red carpet appeared along with a mysterious figure, and Kirby having been the curious one wondered inside of it.

Pikachu, who had been enjoying some ketchup at a table at couple had been eating at prior, saw a latter land on the table in front of it. Its ears wiggled, which showed its curiosity before it grazed a seal. Soon enough a portal opened and, driven by whatever impulse was in control at the moment, the electric mouse wandered inside of it.

"My my, did your mother never teach you manners?"

Bayonetta had been in the process of a battle with a fierce Angel. Though given the ease with which she had been beating it one would hardly be faulted for thinking otherwise. In fact, Bayonetta had been casually been able to read a letter that had been mysteriously delivered to her earlier in the day all the while.

A tournament huh? Oddly suspicious and certainly could be some sort of trap. But then again it also could be quite exciting Who would I be one to refuse such a request?

Bayonetta would blast the Angel till it stopped getting back up, as Bayonetta had decided to accept the invitation as soon enough a carriage with black horses appeared and a mysterious figured offered a hand; clearly having tried to be the gentleman as Bayonetta accepted his hand.

"Always good to see one with manners." Bayonetta said before she got in the carriage and would be driven towards this Smash Mansion. Whatever and wherever it was.

 

[Mechanist Gamma]

The seven heroes of their world were gathered. Shulk and Dunban, the team captains. Reyn, Fiora, Melia and Riki, the supporters. And Sharla, the home guard.
"So we're all clear on the plan?" Shulk asked, making sure everyone knew what was happening. They all nodded. "Alright then. Now how exactly do we get to this tournament?"
Suddenly, clamoring was heard from the center of town. Including a scream.
"Let's move!" Dunban said immediately, running towards the town square. The others followed. When they reached it, they saw a strange man standing outside some sort of floating platform.
"I would presume you two are Shulk and Dunban?" the hooded man asked as they both approached - Shulk had used Monado Speed to catch up to Dunban.
"Yeah, that's us. What do you want?" Shulk asked. "Are you with the Mechon? Is that Mechon machinery you have?"
"No, I am not associated with the Mechon." the man stated. "I am the humble servant of Sebastian Grimsbane."
"Sebastian...!"
"So then you're our escort to the tournament, then?" Dunban inferred. "If that's the case, then lead the way."
"This platform shall take you there. Merely step aboard." the servant explained, stepping on. "Also, which of your friends are coming with you?"
"Sharla's going to stay behind. The rest are coming." Shulk said.
"Then let's move." the servant replied. As soon as the sextet was on the platform, it began to rise. The townspeople looked on in shock. Some waved to the departing heroes. Reyn, Fiora and Riki all waved back. Meanwhile, Dunban clutched his bad arm. The platform rose up, and the heroes looked up to see a portal in the sky.
"I guess this is how we're getting there." Dunban said. "Everyone, be on your guard, no matter what."

As Phoenix and Maya walked outside into Lobby No. 2, they saw Trucy Wright waiting for them. The daughter of the magician Zak Gramarye, Trucy was a celebrated magician who had lots of work nowadays - especially after the Mr. Reus incident.
"Dad, hey!" Trucy said with a smile, running over. "Sorry I missed the trial - had a bit of problem at the stage."
"No worries, we won the case." Phoenix replied, rubbing the back of his head. "Simon said you were waiting for me?"
"Oh, right! Something got dropped off at the office earlier today." Trucy said. She took off her hat and pulled something out from underneath. A letter. She handed it to Phoenix, who opened it up while Maya peered over his shoulder.
"W-W-WHAT?! A FIGHTING TOURNAMENT?!" Wright exclaimed in shock. "Why am I invited?! I'm just a simple lawyer!"
"I dunno. Letter could be meant for me." Maya replied.
Phoenix and Trucy both pointed to Mr. Wright being clearly written on both the letter and the envelope.
"Huh. Well I can come with!" Maya stated.
"Maya, what makes you think I'm even going?" Phoenix asked. "If, in theory, we did go, Athena's going to be left all alone to take on all the current cases by herself!"
"We don't have any current cases."
"But still."
"Well, we may as well try anyways!" Maya said with a wide smile, snatching the letter and envelope before the Wrights could stop her. "O SEBASTIAN GRIMSBANE! WE ACCEPT YOUR CHALLENGE!"
Phoenix face-palmed as what sounded like lightning crackled outside.

"GV, what do you think about this letter?"

"No idea, Joule. Could it be an Eden trap?"

Gunvolt kept reading the letter over and over again, but still wasn't sure about the letter's origin, and the simbol near the signiature wasn't helping either. It seemed like the letter came from another dimension. In front of him, right next to the letter, Joule materialized in her butterfly form.
"Maybe there's some sort of tournament between Adepts or something? It says we can bring two people."
"I don't think it's just Adepts, but we might as well go. You and me count as one person, so I think we could bring Quinn and Xiao." Gunvolt said as the two people he mentioned came into the room.
"Hmph. Alright, bring Quinn along."
"You okay?"
"I'm fine. Everything is fine!"
"If you say so." Gunvolt replied. "Okay, we accept this challenge."
Right in front of them, a portal opened. "Readings say that's our way in." Xiao commented, looking at the portal fascinated. "Alrighty, let's go!" Quinn said happily. The group walked into the portal, even though they had no idea what was waiting for them at the other side.

"Copen, a letter's arrived and it looks like it's for you." Nori said, handing the white haired boy the letter.
Copen read the letter a couple times before closing the envelope. "...A tournament? And where is this Smash Mansion exactly?"
"No idea. But I guess you could go there."
"Why do you say that?"
"There's a chance there will be Adepts there too. You've sworn to take them all out, right?"
"...You're right. It says we can bring two people. I'm bringing Lola and you with me."
Out of nowhere, Lola appeared in her spherical robot form, bringing with her the bits that made up Copen's EX Weapon system.
"You know it, boss! Let's go beat up some bad guys!"
"Copen, I can't leave Mytyl by herself. I need to monitor her at all times."
Copen's twin younger sister, who was almost twice her size, walked into the room.
"Aw, but I wanna go! Isn't there a way? I don't wanna stay in this medical facility for all my life!" Mytyl typed in her tablet.
"Sis, it's dangerous for you to go outside of this place."
""
"Copen, she's right. she can't stay here forever. I can bring some medical stuff, anything she needs to go."
"...Fine."
"Yay, Nori! "
"Just don't do anything stupid, sis. Let's accept this challenge." Copen replied.
Suddenly, a portal appeared. "That's our ticket in, boss!" Lola said, excited. The group entered the portal, although Copen was a bit worried about Mytyl.

Takumi opened the letter given to him by a courier

“Smash Brother’s Mansion, Interesting” Takumi said as he folded the letter and put it beside him.
“Are you seriously thinking about going Takumi, it could be a Nohrian trap,” Hinoka stated
“It’s strange, this marking, I’ve never seen anything like it.” Ryoma said.
“This sounds dangerous, I don’t want you to go big brother,” Sakura said.
Takumi grabbed his Fujin Yumi, he set of towards the exit of the castle,”If it is trap, all three of you know Nohrian can’t stop me”

Shovel Knight opened the letter. He had no one to talk to about, not sense Shield Knight had been captured. He quietly threw dirt on his fire to put it out. The Blue knight picked up his shovel and set it on his shoulder. He walked away from his camp and towards a town, he had to find a way to get to this so called Smash Mansion.

"Ow!" Sonic said, as he felt something that had smacked against his head as he turned in that general direction and had barley just been able to make out Eggman in there and he seemed annoyed over something.

Which only caused Sonic to smirk.

"Gotta say Eggman that might be the most effective tactic used yet. Maybe you should try the "toddler temper tantrum" idea more often." Sonic taunted before he dashed over to where Eggman was. Naturally, he spin dashed and based as many of the egg robots as he could have along the way.

Bowser had charged forward, which only caused Mario to jump on its head which annoyed Bowser all the more before Mario performed a Cappy Toss towards Bower which had knocked the turtle dragon on his back as Mario had charged forward. Only for Bowser to begin to spin which hit and knocked Mario back as Bowser had gotten back onto his feet.

Bowser stood tall and unleashed a stream of fire, which Mario countered with a series of fireballs as their battle had literally become heated.

"I think it's worth a shot, and if nothing else I'll have you guys watching my back." Sora said, as he and Donald & Goofy (Or rather, just Donald) had debated this issue for several minutes. While Donald had his reservations, he knew he had been outnumbered on this issue and eventually let out a sigh.

"Fine, but I still got a bad feeling about this."

"What else is new?" Sora replied as Donald scowled at the Keyblade Wielder, before Sora had touched this seal on the letter which had caused a portal to appear before their eyes. Soon enough, the pair had been greeted by a mysterious figure on what appeared to be a pair of hover-boards. Sora and Goofy had been impressed, as they quickly had gotten on while Donald while he held back eventually caved on and got on before the trio would have been led to their destination.

Samus, having decided to take the calculated risk, decided to accept the invitation as she pressed along the seal which caused a portal outside her ship to open. Another ship soon appeared, which had caused Samus to prep the guns of her own ship, but she soon figured out that it was merely leading her to the destination as she simply followed with her own ship.

 

[Mechanist Gamma]

"Can you just shut up for once!" Eggman shouted, slamming a button on his desk. All of a sudden, several dozen machine guns came out of the walls, all pointed at Sonic. They started blasting away as Eggman hopped into his Egg Mobile and lifted off. "Infinite! I need you up front right now!"

Issun had what some people might consider a boring job. Hopping around and spreading flyers all day... ugh. But Issun liked it. He was fine with it, because he knew exactly what he was doing - spreading faith in Okami Amaterasu, his best friend. Ever since Yami was defeated, though, he hadn't seen her.
Which was why he found it extremely strange that a letter addressed to Ammy had been left at his house.
Issun then hopped around in search of some way to contact the sun god. Finally, he just decided the obvious. He looked up towards the sun, covering his eyes as so not to go blind.
"HEY! AMMY! YOU UP THERE?! YOU GOTTA COME DOWN! IT'S REALLY IMPORTANT!"
Issun waited a few minutes, but nothing happened. He sighed. What were the chances she was gonna come down from the heavens just to talk with him...?
But just as he was about to walk back towards his house, something crashed down behind him.
Issun turned around to see the large white wolf behind him.
"Ammy, ya jerk...! I thought you weren't coming!"

As Phoenix walked outside, he held the letter in his hands.
"Maya, why did you think that was even going to do anything...?" Phoenix asked.
"I dunno!" Maya replied. "The person who made the letter could be listening. Say they had a car parked, waiting for us-"
"Excuse me. Are you Mr. Wright?"
The trio looked up at the long-haired man in front of them. He wore a tuxedo with a red symbol on his lapel - the same one on the letter.
"HAH!" Maya said with a smirk, pointing at Phoenix.

"Sorry Egghead, fraid I don't take requests from nut jobs." Sonic replied as he began to dodge the gunfire; weaving in and out at high speeds as he had tried to jump off other eggbots in an effort to try and close the distance on Eggman himself.

Mario and Bowser's battle had taken them to an edge on the highest floor of Bowser's castle, where Bowser had predictably tried to force Mario off to fall down to his doom. Though Mario had predicted this and jumped over the turtle dragon as Bowser charged him before he tossed Cappy which hit Bowser on the chin and had him wobbling on the edge.

"Woah...woah...aaaaaaaaa!" Bowser yelled out, before he fell off the edge. Mario and Cappy had seen this as a good sign before they dashed inside to rescue Peach as Mario soon began to escape the castle.

Bowser had managed to catch himself with his Clown Car, though seeing Mario having had once more escaped with his prize had caused Bowser to slam against the Clown Car in frustration.

"Curse that plumber!" Bowser yelled out, before he would fly back to his castle. There, much as Mario discoverd at Peach's castle, both would find the same strange letter than had been addressed to them.

Sakura started to cry as Takumi left,” First big sister and now Takumi.” Hinoka put her hand on Sakura’s shoulder
“There both tough, they’ll make it through whatever this is alive.” Hinoka reassured.

Rex and his blades engaged a Ardanian Sergeant. He pulled out Aegis and shouted”Alright Pyra, let’s show ‘em a thing or three.”
Pyra sprinted up behind Rex and said,”Our emotions are intune Rex!”
“Couldn’t have said it better myself” Rex said as he jumped towards the Ardanian Sergeant.
“You think you can take me” the Ardanian Sergeant shouted as he aimed his rifle towards Rex.

Eggman turned around in shock as Sonic leaped towards him - when a reddish-brown streak slammed Sonic out of the way.
"Sonic. It's been a while." Infinite the Jackal said, floating in the air. Instead of the Phantom Ruby in his chest, however, he had something else that glowed pink. Infinite then created a massive laser from the palm of his hand and fired it at Sonic and the surrounding vicinity.

"So, d'you know what this is?" Issun asked, Ammy and Issun having just read the letter over.
Amaterasu yawned.
"H-hey! Don't ya wanna go fight, Ammy?! It's a good way to spread belief!" Issun jumped on top of her head.
Amaterasu growled, causing Issun to stop. Ammy then pawed at the letter before howling to the sky.
"Ya hear that, Sebastian? We accept your challenge!" Issun shouted, standing on top of Ammy's skyward-pointed nose.

"Well, I guess we'll be seeing you later." Phoenix said, a briefcase in his hand. Maya waved towards Trucy and Athena, who looked on from the side.
"I'll handle the office while you're gone!" Athena stated.
"Byeee!" Maya shouted as the pair got into the car. The long-haired man put on his hat before sitting down in the car and beginning to drive off.
As soon as they were out of sight, a portal appeared. Phoenix and Maya didn't have time to express their shock and confusion before they drove straight through.

Sans sat on a bench around the corner of a random road as a small Corvette drove up. "your the ride right?" He asked when the door opened. "I guess so." The skeleton said while teleporting into the car so movement wouldn't be needed. With that, the car drove our to Smash Mansion.

The duo from the sea stood as a portal appeared before them. "Daddy, I think that's the way." Little Sister said to her robot. As she said that, a man walked through the portal. "I am here to take you to your battle." He said while making a motion to the portal. With those words, Little Sister and Big Daddy walked through.

 

[Hydreigonborn]

Outside of the castle, a Pegasus arrived for Takumi. He noticed Corrin was there too. “Hey Takumi,Are you going to the Smash Brothers Mansion thing?” Corrin was already on the Pegasus when Takumi jumped on.
“Yes,” Takumi said as the Pegasus departed and flew into a portal.

Shovel Knight was greeted by horse-drawn carriage outside of his camp, which he without hesitation entered. The carriage started and entered a portal.

After several minutes of fighting, the Ardainin Seargent dropped to the ground. “Phew, that was tough” Rex said as he wiped sweat of his brow.
“Yeah, I’m glade we made it through that Rex.” Pyra stated.

After Pyra spoke, a courier rushed toward Rex and handed him letter. He read aloud and Pyra took it from his hands,” Smash Brothers Mansion? I’ve never heard of any place like that.” Pyra said.
“Neither have I, but I couldn’t hurt to check it out.” Rex said. Then a Titan Airship appeared and Rex entered it. The airship left and entered a portal.

"Aw nuts!" Sonic yelled out as he managed to get a block in but the laser had still managed to knock him back on the ground. It took but a moment to glance up as he had a scowl on his face when he saw who had crashed the party.

"Gotta say, didn't count on Eggman to be one to call his friends over. Though I guess he needed someone to save his Eggbutt. What brings you to the dance anyway?" Sonic asked, he had not expected an answer as he already had began to dash around below his new opponent as clearly he tried to find an opening to strike from.

Both Mario and Bowser had taken the chance to open their letters, and both had read it down to the letter. While Mario had understandable reservations, he and Cappy had been curious about this and Bowser had been eager for anything to take his mind off his humiliation earlier. Eventually both would accept their letters, as a carriage appeared before both castles.

Outside Peach's Castle had been a white carriage with an elegant if not classical design and white stallions.

Bowser's Castle had a dark brown carriage with a more Gothic design as well as a pair of black stallions.

Both "Smash participants" got into their carriages and would soon be led towards this Smash Mansion...wherever that had been.

"Infinite has been upgraded to a far greater power!" Eggman shouted. "My loyal friend here has found himself a replacement for the Phantom Ruby that you so rudely destroyed. Now, Infinite, blow him away!"
"As you wish." Infinite smiled, firing off a massive laser blast from his palm that engulfed the entire range. Surely this would chase the hedgehog off.
Satisfied Sonic was down for now, Infinite and Eggman began to float up.
"This certainly seems interesting, Infinite." Eggman said, showing him the letter. "I may bring you and Metal Sonic along with me."
"That would be a wise decision." the jackal stated. He then heard footsteps behind him.

As Amaterasu howled, a portal appeared behind her. A man walked through with a carriage, the logo on the letter marked on the side. Ammy hopped into the carriage and was pulled through the portal.

Sans stepped outside of the car which drove him to Smash Mansion. "this is my exit?" He asked the speechless driver, who stayed true to his adjective. Taking his leave, Sans the skeleton stepped up to the double door of the mansion. As he tried knocking, a satisfying Dunk sound resonated through the building itself. Not caring about proper formalities, Sans let himself inside.

The robot/girl duo exited the portal which ended at the entrance of Smash Mansion. "Interesting." Little Sister said to her daddy. With that statement, Little sister took her syringe, placing it back onto her back. The two of them followed after the Skeleton which just walked inside through the door.

Sonic had braced himself for impact, but had felt nothing which confused the Hedgehog until he had opened his eyes and saw that he had become airborne.

Tails, his best friend, had arrived and lifted Sonic off the ground just before the blast had nailed him. Sonic's grin had told the entire story.

"Tails! Thanks, though I gotta wonder what kept you guys." Sonic said though even with his quip his gratitude had been made clear as Tails set his friend down.

"Sorry, not all of us move at the speed of sound." Tails replied back as Infinite would see both Knuckles and Amy jump at him from both sides; as Knuckles prepared to deliver a punch while Amy intended to bash him with her hammer.

White Bomberman fell out of the portal he’d went into, flat on his butt. It seemed as if he’d reached the desired Smash Mansion, and stepped up to the door, following the skeleton boy, the unusually rusty robot, and the little girl to the door. However, another Bomberman fell out of the portal White had token to the mansion. It was Pink! “Pink, why’d you follow me?” asked White Bomberman, turning around and looking at her with pure worry. “I got worried about you when you left the house! You clearly didn’t want your other siblings to get hurt, and I...” explained Pink Bomberman, as White interrupted her. “This is why I left without you! I didn’t want you, or Aqua, or Blue, or Green and the others to get hurt, so I went by myself!” exclaimed White. It was then the portal closed behind Pink, and she had no choice but to stay with White. “Okay, I’ll stay, but I won’t fight!” responded Pink Bomberman, grabbing White Bomberman’s hand and followed the Robot / Girl Duo in.

“So, anything been happening in your life lately? Mine’s been mostly a drag.... Being stuck in half-destroyed Termina isn’t really fun... nobody’s around... can’t prank anyone anymore, either. Hahahahaha... at least I have you now.” continued Skull Kid, trying to take off Majora’s Mask. But it wouldn’t come off. It was like it was stuck to his face somehow. He summoned Tatl and Tael, the two fairies that he was friends with, from out of nowhere. “I’m sure you remember these two.” said Skull Kid.

Link shifted a bit in his seat as Skull Kid summoned Tatl. He was sure things had been different since he had left termina, though Hyrule was certainly the bigger priority with Calamity Ganon running about. He explained to Skull Kid what had happened since the two last met, and how he simply wasn’t getting a break with current events. Eventually the carriage arrived at the Mansion where Link stepped out and stretched. He decided to scope out who else would be participating before entering himself.

“Thanks for the ride, yo!” Funky shouted as he jumped out of the hover car and into the courtyard of the mansion. He casually strolled through the front doors, noticing a pointy eared boy watching from the other side of the courtyard.

At last the dark carriage arrived, with Ganon in tow. He stepped out of his ride, bowing to the driver, only to see his long enemy, Link. He flashed a menacing smile at the boy before walking through the front doors, in complete silence.

Shantae made her arrival at the Smash Mansion, as her little hover limo had pulled out as she caught sight of a few of who she had presumed to be her competitors arrived in toe. With an eager grin, she hoped out and made her way through the front doors of the Mansion just to get a scope of the competition but more importantly get a feel of the place.

Bayonetta was the next to arrive, as she stepped out of her own carriage and gazed upon the mansion with interest. Though that interest had shifted over towards a purple haired beauty who had made her way inside.

"This might be fun after all..." Bayonetta said to herself before she followed suit with others and entered the Mansion through the front doors.

Kirby had been the next to appear, stepping through a portal as he saw the Mansion and had a curious if not look of aww on his face. He then noticed a pair of women had walked inside one after the other as he wondered over and entered the Mansion soon after.

Pikachu had appeared not a moment after Kirby had, as the Electric Type sniffed the air though his focus had been on the Mansion as well. Much like Kirby, the electric mouse had been curious as and wondered inside the Mansion as well.

Once the pegasus left the portal, Takumi was instantly in awe. The Mansion was beautiful, a little intimidating, in fact. The Pegasus touched down and Takumi and Corrin jumped off the Pegasus and walked toward the massive mansion.

Shovel Knight jumped out of the carriage, with his trusty shovel in tow. He walked into the mansion and waited for others to arrive.

Rex leapt of the airship and landed with a thud. Pyra followed, quickly, to Rex’s aid. “Are you alright Rex? You can’t pull a stunt like that again.”

“I know , I know, don’t get your knickers in a twist.” Rex said as he sat up.

“...REALA....JACKLE...”

The large, caped figure of Wizeman, The God of Nightmare flared in his abyssal throne, suspended above a sea of darkness. In front of him was an equally large door, the door freaked open slightly, two figures floating out of the door and into the throne room, landing on a suspended platform near the base of Wizeman. The two jesters, Reala and Jackle, quickly took to Boeing before their creator.

“Yes, master Wizeman?” Reala inquired, his smooth tone echoing.

“What’s the word, Wizeguy?” Jackle said, with a wide grin.

One of Wizeman’s eight floating hands floated eerily toward them. The hand’s eye in the center opened and towered over them, the pupil fixating on the nightmaren.

“THE TWO OF YOU...MY SERVANTS OF THE DARKNESS...SHALL BE REPRESENT YOUR GOD IN AN MISSION TO THE WAKING WORLD.”

Reala peered up. “The waking world? Master, might I ask what the mission is that is important enough for us to go there?”

“A STRANGE POWER IS AT WORK...I HAVE RECEIVED A MESSAGE MEANT FOR THE TRAITOROUS NiGHTS. IT DECRIBES A CROSS DIMENSIONAL TOURNAMENT.”

“Well that doesn’t sound too bad.” Jackle said.

“ANY BEING THAT CAN TAKE OTHERS FROM DIMENSIONS ON SUCH A SCALE IS A THREAT...AND TRIFLES WITH BALANCE. A GOD’S BALANCE IS IMPORTANT. FIND OUT WHO IS OPERATING THIS PLACE, AND DO NOT FAIL ME.”

“I will not fail you Master.” Reala bower obediently. “As your general, I will see that the plan goes according to your law.”

“SEE THAT IT DOES.”

And with that, a rift leading from nightmare was summoned by Wizeman, leading to the sender of the note, Smash Mansion. The two nightmaren hesitantly floated inside.

Infinite dodged both strikes, latching onto Eggman's pod and soaring off. Orbot and Cubot just managed to grab Infinite's leg before they were gone.

"This is quite the curious letter." Eggman stated as he soared through the sky, pushed by Infinite. "Why not? I'll give it a shot."
Suddenly, a portal opened in front of the two. Eggman flinched as he flew through the portal, Infinite following him with Orbot and Cubot holding on tightly.

"Whoa..." Shulk said, looking at the magnificent mansion in front of them. All around them, fighters came through portals, many carried in similar and different vehicles.
"Who are these people?" Dunban asked.
"They certainly seem strange." Fiora observed. "Look at that one, for instance." She pointed at Big Daddy. "Is that some kind of Mechon?"
"And what about that giant turtle?" Reyn looked at Bowser. "Haven't seen anything like that in the new world yet, much less the Bionis!"
"It doesn't seem like we're the strangest ones here." Melia stated.
"Ooh! Friends, look! Hom Homs!" Riki jumped, gesturing to the car coming out of the portal. The others all looked towards it.

Phoenix Wright and Maya Fey were both grabbing the seat in shock when they went through the portal. Finding themselves in a new mysterious world, they saw the giant mansion in front of them.
"Don't tell me this is Labyrinthia all over again or something..." Phoenix exclaimed.
"Worry not, Mr. Wright, this is a real world." Lucius replied. "Welcome to the Smash Mansion. I'll take you right to the door."
As Lucius drove the car towards the entrance, the lawyer and spirit medium looked around in shock at the large variety of fighters.

Out of the dimensional rift that Wizeman had created, Reala and Jackle floated out, landing near the base of a large, fancy mansion. They drifted toward the ground, nearby some people and alike monsters that had gotten there before them. Reala glanced to the mansion’s exterior another time.

“So this is the smash mansion.” He said.

“Ain’t got nothin’ on my place though.” Jackle said, shuffling one of his decks.

Skull Kid stepped out of the carriage, containing Tatl and Tael in his hands so they would just shut up. What Link had told him definitely had been interesting, but that definitely wasn’t going to stop him from talking to everybody and then doing pranks on them that have horrible consequences. So far, there was a lawyer, two people that could summon bombs, an angel killer, some kid with a blue sword, a spiky shelled Dinosaur, a surfer that happened to be a ape, a little girl with a huge mech, two creatures that might have come from Nights into Dreams, a shovel knight, Link, and most importantly, Ganon. Skull Kid hastily ran up to the steps of the mansion and waited to get in. There was literally that long of a line.

Amy and Knuckles had landed on the ground as Sonic tried to chase after Eggman and Infinite, though he had realized they disappeared which caused the hedgehog to scowl.

"Figures they'd bail before getting their butts kicked." Sonic muttered to himself before he regrouped with the others. While beating Eggman had been the primary task, Sonic also decided now seemed like the perfect time to examine a strange letter he had received. He read it aloud to the group, including every detail of his invite to this "Smash Tournament" along with the offer to bring along up to 2 friends of his choosing. Something that had excited Amy though Sonic seemed oblivious to this.

"This whole thing seems incredibly suspicious." Knuckles replied, as he usually was the skeptic of the group though in this case his suspicion seemed justified.

"I agree, but still we can't make any accurate calls about. It's curious though how this guy knows you and why he sent you an invitation." Tails added, as Sonic seemed to think it over before he dawned a cocky grin.

"Maybe, but we won't figure that out if we do nothing. I say we give it a chance. Besides, if something is off about whatever this is we owe it to ourselves to figure it out." Sonic explained, and before any more room could have been made for debate Sonic had already grazed the seal to accept. Moments later, a mysterious figure appeared through a portal.

"Excellent choice. I presume you and your selected party members are ready?" The figure asked as Sonic gave a nod.

"Yep. Me, Tails and K...." Sonic had started to say before Amy had glomped on her "lover's" arm and quickly talked over him.

"...and Amy are ready to go. Let's do it!" Amy replied and before Tails or Sonic had a chance to protest Amy dragged the two inside the portal which closed after the figure followed them through. This left Knuckles alone, and so very confused...

Sora, Donald and Goofy had been the next arrivals as they appeared and gazed at the Mansion before them. All of them, even Donald, had been impressed and as they saw other presumed competitors enter inside they followed suite.

Mario & Cappy had been the next to arrive, as like Sora & company before them the pair had been impressed with what they had seen from the Mansion.

"Man, this might be even bigger than Peach's castle." Cappy commented, as then he and Mario had taken note of other competitors as they entered and followed them inside.

Unaware that Bowser, who had only arrived moments after them, had seen the pair which caused the Koopa King to growl in frustration.

That darn plumber is here to!? Well no matter, maybe if I am able to pulverize him in this the trip will have been well worth it...

With that, Bowser had began to follow Mario & Cappy inside, though he tried to keep his presence from their notice at the moment.

Samus had been the next arrival, the intergalactic bounty hunter had been in her zero suit though she kept her power suit close to her belongings in the event it was needed.

Which given her track record, had been all but a grantee. None the less Samus saw the Mansion she presumed they were staying at and as such followed the other would-be "competitors" inside.

Soon enough, the Smash Mansion participants would see what appeared to be a pair of beautiful women appear. Each one had fair skin along with red Chinese-style dresses. The woman on the left had a pair of black eyes with long black hair while the other on the right had long white hair and a pair of white eyes. Beyond those differences, the two appeared to be identical twins as they greeted the party with friendly smiles.

"Greetings, my name is Meg...." The black haired girl replied first.

"...and my name is Umi. We are sisters and servants to the one responsible for inviting you here, Sebastian Grimsbane...." The girl with white hair added.

"...and our master wishes to inform you all he will be with you very shortly. So make yourselves comfortable. We are here to accommodate you with any needs you might have." Both sisters replied at once, as they seemed to have a gimmick of finishing each other's sentences as well as speaking in perfect unison.

Takumi and Corrin walked up the steps of the mansion. "Well this is certainly an interesting group," Takumi said, specifically towards Shovel Knight.
"Is he holding a shovel, How's he supposed to fight with that?" Corrin added.

Shovel Knight heard two people, both with gray hair, talking about his shovel. He felt slightly offended that they would openly talk against his beautiful shovel behind his back. And they were one to talk, One of them had bow with no string, while the other had flaming chainsaw sword. How the heck was he supposed to shoot a bow without a draw string, or arrows for that matter

Rex stood up, His other blades showed up out of nowhere. Rex noticed a boy with blonde hair and red jacket and a group of other people, who referenced Mechon. Rex had heard of those mechanical beasts before, but he thought they were just old legends and ancient technology.

Sans was the first person at the mansion, so he stood at the far edge of the room. "many new people here. none from the underground, huh." The skeleton said to himself as some people in wierd armor walked inside. "interesting set of gear." Sans said while scanning the area.

Little sister was picked up by big daddy and was placed on his back. It was more for protection than anything else, for the substance in her syringe is extremely valuable. As people like Shovel Knight and Samus walked by, Big Daddy held out his right, drill hand, to threaten it away. If anyone got to close, the drill got activated.

“Can we just get this over with?” said White and Pink Bomberman in unison, wanting to actually get inside the mansion. The two sisters seemed kind of... weird to the Bombermen, but White shrugged it off. Seemingly, he’d wanted to ask that Sebastian guy why they were called there other than the tournament. “So, any of you know where that Sebastian guy is?” asked White Bomberman, curious. The guy piqued his interest for the time being, while walking inside. “Also, nice shovel!” complemented Pink Bomberman to Shovel Knight.

Skull Kid teleported inside right next to Sans, and asked “Who are you?” to the guy. He was eager to get some new friends after being stuck in Termina with nobody for eons, probably. Skull Kid looked suspicious anyways, to probably everyone else. A kid with a weird mask.

“So many Visitors...how disturbing...” Reala murmured under his breath.

The people of the waking world, or ‘Vistors’ as they referred to them, were feeling anxious to head in. The twins that welcomed them in also happened to be visitors, but were working for this sensation character. Now who on earthtopia is that?

“I dunno Re-Re, i’m Kinda starting to like this place.” Jackle oggled, one of his hands touching a floating hat that was just above a plumber’s head. “They are sure funny lookin.”

Link shuffled his way through the crowd of people until he saw a boy who looked a bit younger than him, holding what appeared to be a large key. It certainly wasn’t the strangest weapon to be used in the crowd, so he ignored it. The boys eyes told of years of battle, as well as loss, just as his did. Link noticed he was accompanied by odd anthropomorphic characters, though overgrown animals weren’t uncommon today either. He looked toward the brown haired boy and smiled, and proceeded to scan the area. There were certainly people who stood out as more villainous than the rest, but that’s not what mattered here. There were 2 particularly tall women, who both gave off a mysterious vibe to Link.

Funky strolled through the mass of competitors, arriving near a goofily dressed skeleton, and a short...thing with a bizarre mask on. They seemed like the appropriate allies to make for him, so he decided to make his move. “Hey, yo! You seem like a fun duo. I’m Funky Kong, who’re you guys?” He pulled up a chair and sat down, making himself comfortable.

Ganondorf certainly stood out in the crowd, with his long, orange hair and two massive swords. He felt an odd sensation as two similar looking men walked in, dressed similarly to jesters. His attention was mostly drawn towards a small girl, who was atop a giant mechanism of some sort. He glared at her, trying to determine what could be inside of the massive syringe she carried.

Sans shrugged himself as the new person asked who he is. "I go by Sans." He said to the new guy. "your a teleporter, huh? and masked as well. can't say that's normal." Sans said while waving his hand forward. "there are people here, and skeletons, who would find that quite suspicious. no Bones about it."

Sora had not been oblivious towards the look a young man with a blue tunic who seemed to have been scanning him over. Though Sora detected no malice with this guy's observation, and Sora felt he had gotten good at finding that "feeling" though to what degree that held truth remained to be seen. Though like him Sora gazed at the pair of women. They seemed nice enough, though Sora just felt something...funny with them. Though Sora disregarded it as he had always been one to give a fair chance when meeting new people.

Samus glanced over at the mechanical brute who seemed to be eyeing anyone that had come close to it and the young girl it was with and naturally had kept her distance. Samus had seem comparable terrors over the years, but it was wasted effort to provoke it needlessly.

"Hey! Watch it there. And who are you calling funny looking?" Cappy called out, as one of the others in the Mansion had come up to them and had gotten both Mario & Cappy's attention as this guy touched Cappy which obviously he had taken exception to as Mario eyed him curiously.

Bowser had his focus on Mario, though to avoid arousing the plumber's suspicion he wandered to another area as he scouted the competition. Naturally, the arrogant turtle dragon thought little of them as he wondered merely who this Sebastian guy was.

Sonic and company had wandered the Mansion, and while Sonic & Tails had been annoyed Amy just decided to tag along, they all decided it was wasted effort to argue about it for too long. Though something caught Amy's eye as she wandered over to a purple haired girl with a harem-girl outfit which caused Sonic and tails to follow soon after.

"I love your outfit!" Amy complimented the figure as Sonic and Tails just eyed her curiously.

“You, silly. Didn’t you here the first time?” Jackle said, sassily.

“Easy Jackle...” Reala said warily to his comrade. “We wouldn’t want to make a scene.”

“It’s called getting to know the people.” Jackle dismisses with one of his disembodied hands. “Quite the dapper lookin’ weirdo aren’t yah? My name is jackle.”

Jackle extended his left hand, slipping it right into Mario’s gloved hand. The orange jester’s Run grew wider as he introduced himself, Reala simply turned away out of annoyance.

Phoenix and Maya stepped out of the car. That's when Shulk decided to hop down alongside them, spooking the pair.
"Hello there!" Shulk said with a smile. "Name's Shulk. And you are?"
"P-Phoenix Wright..." Phoenix managed to stutter back, taken by surprise.
"Maya Fey, future head of the Fey Clan!" Maya stated, regaining her composure much faster than her friend. "Any idea who these guys are?"
"No clue." Shulk replied. "I'm here with my group, however. We're from Colony Nine. How about you?"
"Uh... California?" Phoenix said.
The two stated at each other blankly for a few seconds before realizing they weren't from the same world.

Amaterasu trotted along, thinking to herself. Issun looked around. He then saw what looked like some sort of hedgehog. Issun then hopped over.
"Heya!" the inch-high man said.

Dr. Eggman and Infinite were currently hiding behind the wall of the mansion, scouting the situation.
"It doesn't appear that we're in any danger, Doctor." Infinite reported. "However... the hedgehog is here. The fox and hammer girl are with him."
"Tails and Amy, eh? This could be interesting." Eggman stated. "I think a good idea here would be to try and make some allies." Eggman then started moving out, trying not to attract attention. Eventually, he stopped, right behind an intimidating man with fiery orange hair. "Good day." he said to the dark lord.

Ganondorf turned to see what the cause of the voice was, only to see a near-spherical man with bizarre facial hair trying to make conversation with him. Even upon the first glance Ganon could see he was some form of a coward, so he thought he could have some fun with the fat man and his robotic companions. He gave the doctor a menacing glare, but gave up when he didn’t flinch as much as Ganon had expected. “Good day.” He chuckled, a dark aura wrapping around himself.

Funky called squawks over, who had brought cans of soda for the three of them, and passed them around to the other two. Funky quickly realized that Skull Kid might have difficulty drinking from a can before semi-awkwardly saying “cheers” as he raised the can up. Funky Kong assumed the magical skeleton wouldn’t have any difficulty drinking from it, since he seemed like a jack-of-all-trades character.

Link looked toward the entrance to see a blonde man with a red coat walk in, who gave off the same sort of vibe as the boy he was standing next to, and also noticed the pair that followed him. He was sure whoever founded this tournament wouldn’t let just anyone participate, so Link assumed they had some kind of power, at least. As he looked around the room he saw a brown haired boy who had a blue scuba suit, which was identical to one he had found. Interesting, and maybe a little concerning, but Link continued his inspection of the fighters.
