  1. @Dark Soul @Sentorus67

As part of humanity’s attempts to develop a new energy source in-order to fuel its expansion outside the solar system, the United Earth Government begun sending energy gathering probes into the Sun’s outer most layers. Though the collect energy proved difficult to store this practice also gave Earth’s scientific bodies a greater degree of data and understanding of the internal functions of our home star. Through the use of this scan data it was discovered that deep within our home star existed a seemingly infinite energy source, Dubbed the Star-Heart.

Using this newly discovered energy source Earth’s scientists were able to distill pure cosmic energy into usable power cells nicknamed Star-batteries which in turn provided the energy needed to warp Space-time allowing for the development of Earth’s first FTL capable ship, the Star-Saint. This new more stable form of Star-Heart energy also allowed for a new age of scientific discovery with the possibilities and uses of this new energy source yet to be fully explored.

Following a failed attempt from a Galaxian Armada to harvest the Sun’s Star-heart, the Star was left severely damaged and begun emitting extremely intense yet short lived solar flares. This sudden change in solar activity caught Earth completely off guard, the planetary defense systems failed as result of the Electromagnetic disruptions caused by the solar flares. Furthermore Earth’s natural atmospheric protection from cosmic radiation was also severely damaged, flooding Earth with unmitigated cosmic rays and solar winds. Earth’s primary water sources and surface were rapidly irradiated far beyond healthy or even acceptable limits. In a matter of days Earth was deemed uninhabitable and humanity was facing widespread planetary extinction.

Despite this the sparse yet densely populated human cities on both Mars and the Moon equipped with advanced artificial radiation shields, were largely unaffected by the Solar-flares. Something to do with the random regenerative properties of the shields being able to adapt and adjust to counter the sudden increase in radiation. These few colonies are now all that remains of humanity with the colonial governments forced to put aside their trivial rivalries and work together to try and rebuild humanity.

After a year of believing there to be nosurvivors of Earth’s Irradiation, New London received a message from the Star-Saint.The vessel had been Low-Earth orbit whenthe wave of solar flares hit the planet, disabling many of the ship’s systems and leaving it stranded in orbit for months as the planet below and its population died out before their eyes. Upon arrival on the moon it was discovered that a number of crew members, while stranded in orbit, had been exposed to the pure Star-Heart energy the damaged star had been hemorrhaging since the failed harvest of its core. The energy had greatly altered the genetic make up of the crew and imbued them with the pure energy of the Star-Heart. However it also placed an extreme strain upon their physical bodies, as such very few survived long enough to reach Mars let alone for their genetic alterations to begin to fully express themselves.

Five years to the day of the Galaxian attempt to harvest our Sun’s Star-Heart, the best and brightest of Humanity’s survivors are ready to take the fight back to the beings who caused our planets extinction. Armed with the Star Saint’s super-powered crew and the newly christened Daedalus, a colossal mobile battle platform designed to act as a centre for human expansion and conquest against the Galaxian Threat.

Following two long years of intense fighting the human Astro-command has forced the Galaxians back out of Sol’s immediate vicinity creating a border encompassing our solar system and it’s neighbors almost 20 light years across. Though it still takes over 40 days at maximum FTL for most ships to cross the full length of this area. Though advancements to the original Daedalus and Star Saint are said you have cut this time in half.

    Star-Hearts explained
Star-Hearts are a cosmic power source, they are believed to be a concentrated conglomerations of primordial energy left over from the Big Bang. These conglomerations can often be found deep within the cores of certain stars, with some believing them to be the missing link in the origins of life in the universe. When a living being is exposed to the energy of a Star-Heart, the being’s genetic material is greatly altered. The degree of impact of this genetic alteration is dependent upon the level of exposure and the potency of the Star-Heart.

    Villain Group: Galaxians
    Meteor-Golems (Meteors)
The Meteor-Golems are horned, grey stone imp-like monsters that are only strong in high numbers. They serve as the grunts of the more powerful Planet-Killers. Meteor-Golems are forged entirely from the planetary remains of planets which have lost their Sun’s, and while not as strong as beings empowered by Star-hearts to become Planet-Killers, they are still able withstand a great amount of force and energy. Their clay like stone forms allow them to convert their arms into a sharp blades as well as a gun-like weapon, or combine with other Meteor-Golems to create larger, more powerful Golems.

These monsters take on completely unique forms from each-other. Their rough appearance will depend upon the living being they were created from as well as the potency of the Star-heart which brought them into existence.
Regardless of this all Planet-Killers are formed from corrupted Star-hearts, either made from the stellar remains of a Stellar Malum or from the corruption of a pre-existing Star-heart. If a Planet-Killer is left unchallenged it will begin absorbing the nearest planet’s energy and matter, eventually encasing the creature in a planetary cocoon. Essentially fusing the being with the planet to create an enormous cosmic fortress and battle platform for the Galaxian Navy.

    Predicted FAQ’s
Are these genetic alterations basically super powers?
Yes, they can be, they don’t have to be. However on the topic of powers, I’d like the powers to be additions to your characters skills, not the only reason they have been choosen for this mission. Think less Captain Marvel and more Young Justice Meta-humans.

Do you have a larger plot planned out?
Yes, I do but I don’t want to spoil it at this stage

    Here’s mine
Name: Alexander James Xavier VII (Ajex)
    Call-sign: Quasar
    Age: 29
    Birthplace: San Francisco
Appearance: 5’9 with a slim-fit physique. His hair was originally a jet black, however the radiation he was exposed to in Earth’s orbit damaged his hair follicles and now his hair grows in a light grey-Silver hue. His eyes however were stone grey at birth, before also being leeched of colour and rendered a piercing ivory, both of which somehow compliment his tanned skin tone and outwardly harsh demeanor.
Weapon: Ajax’s combat suit utilizes a pair of turreted shoulder mounted launchers linked to his heads up display.
Special equipment: Ajax carries a pair of Plasma multi-tools integrated into his combat gauntlets, when not in his full suit he wears a more streamlined pair of gauntlet multi-tools at all times

Powers: His body is essentially a miniature power reactor, allowing him to convert absorbed heat, light or electricity into pure energy. Which can then be fired off as blasts or used to propel him in a form of unassisted flight. Though he needs to absorb energy in order to use his powers, the type of energy effecting how much time it will take him to absorb it as well as how much he needs in order to ‘fully charge’.

Skills: An Expert tactician and combat strategist, Ajax is prone however to underestimating the abilities of his peers if they do not display the same level of discipline and focus he believes they should. His tactical analytical skills also extend to the ability to uncover exploitable design flaws or weaknesses in enemy formations or strongholds

Ajax was born in the sprawling metropolis of late 21st century San Francisco, his parents both military did there best to give Ajax a normal childhood and upbringing. So it was no surprise when he enrolled as an officer in the Planetary Defense Force at the age of 21. His knack for tactical and strategic operations saw him fast tracked through the ranks to a junior command role by the time he was 24, much to the dismay of his parents who were concerned their son was being ushered down a path of desk work and pen-pushers.

However this view quickly changed when he was posted to The Star-Saint, a supposedly simple deployment into low earth orbit as part of the home fleet, it was a simple job, low chance of actual conflict without having to sacrifice the possibility of glory in battle. Though in reality the job was exactly as Ajax had expected primarily ship-wide inspections and endless report writing. That was until the day of the Flare.
When the first pulse hit the (Star-Saint) was low enough in orbit to have at least some level of protection. Despite this the containment field of the ship’s reactor was failing and begun leaking energy at an uncontrollable rate, had only Ajax entered the reactor room in order to evacuate an injured crew member when the (Star Saint’s) automated reactor overload failsafes kicked in jettisoning the core into space to burn up on re-entry and sealing the contaminated area. The protocols had been designed so that the contaminated areas would be sealed off temporarily, the atmosphere vented into space while any trapped crew could take refuge in an air-locked safe box while awaiting full decontamination. However the second Flare pulse disabled all onboard systems before the atmosphere could even be vented. Thus sealing Ajax in with the severely high levels of Star-Heart energy already emitted by the core before ejection as well as the baseline radiation already penetrating the ship’s hull and affecting the crew.

It took over 48 hours for the Star-Saint’s secondary power reactor to be restored to a functional capacity and a further 12 for the full decontamination process to complete itself. The crew member Ajax had rushed in to evacuate had died 16 hours into the ordeal and over the course of the following months he watched as his crew grew smaller and the planet died below them.

Ajax’s powers begun to manifest almost three months after his decontamination cycle had finished, the unknowable quantities of absorbed energy allowing him to provide the secondary power core with the necessary input to initiate its reaction processes and begin to move the ship out of Earth’s gravity well, toward Mars.

The Star-Saint’s arrival on Mars was bitter sweet at best, it was nice to be back on solid ground but it wasn’t the solid ground they had hoped for. Nor was it really anything to celebrate, their home-world was an irradiated dead rock now, the last of human civilization was in disarray stuck on a still relatively hostile world.

It took a lot of hard work but in the space of just four short years humanity was able to bounce back from the death of their home-world and begin their war with the Galaxians. Initially it was only the crew of the Star Saint able to travel the distances needed to engage the Galaxian Armada but the development of the coaxial FTL drive, the detailed schematics of the Quantum FTL Drive aboard the Star Saint were lost with the irradiation of Earth, allowed Humanity to finally launch its second FTL ship. The Colossal Daedalus Mobile command platform, a large central orbed core with three star shaped launch hangers each with five runaways in order to launch various fighters and runabout crafts. The Daedalus allowed humanity to finally mount more permanent and invasive offenses upon Galaxian controlled space while also allowing the Star Saint to slip further into Galaxian territory undetected.

  2. Alright, this seems pretty cool. So where exactly is this RP going to be starting off? On the Star-Saint when people get their powers? On Mars? On the Star Saint on it's way to fight the Galaxians?

  3. I also have a question. 1. Are we able to be a Planet Killer? (I'm fine if we aren't seeing as some people want to have control over what happens on that side to better further the plot.) Also, I'll probably make a character. I was wondering if slow self-regenerative powers along with slow healing others would be applicable.
  4. The latter, meaning the last one

In regards to the Planet Killer I’d prefer not

about your powers it would depend on your explanation of the abilities

  5. Alright, cool. Here's my character.

    NB-0007, Seven
    Call-sign: Jackal
    Age: 15, Looks around 27
Birthplace: Raitech Laboratories Southwest American Branch, Nevada
Appearance: Seven stands at about 5'8", with long black hair and brown eyes. She's pretty muscular for her small figure, and usually wears long sleeved clothes to cover that. On her back right shoulder is a barcode tattooed into her skin. Her clothes change for whatever missions she needs to go on, whatever is best suited for the environment. When on stealth missions, she wears a Chameleon Suit. In it's base form, it's a jet black skintight bodysuit.
Weapon(?): Seven was supplied a variety of weapons and gear by Raitech to accomplish the missions they sent her on. In close quarters fighting, her primary weapon of choice is the Ion Blade. A ninjato made out of forged Hypersteel, it is extremely durable and resistant to heat. It is extremely sharp on it's own, but a switch on it's handle will activate a small energy field around the blade. This allows the blade to cut through pretty much anything. Raitech also supplied Seven with two guns, a Plasma Skorpion repeating pistol and a XR-17 Eagle Eye with explosive bullets. Seven also has in her possesion a Chameleon Suit, a body suit that allows it's user to blend in with it's surroundings.
Powers(?): Seven was a genetically engineered clone created by Raitech to be an enhanced assassin. As such, she is stronger and faster than a human in peak physical condition. Due to this, Seven's body burns up much more energy than the normal human body, and she needs a higher calorie diet or she will pretty much starve to death. When she was exposed to the energy from the Star-Heart, it changed her so that her body became many, many, many times tougher. Being a human clone, Seven was genetically engineered to have a much shorter lifespan. She'll keep her current appearance around the age of 25, she will most likely begin to age rapidly and die around the ages of 30-35. At least, that's what was projected. Perhaps the exposure to the Star-Heart changed that....
Skills: Seven has had extensive weapons and combat training, so she is very skilled when it comes to fighting and killing. She is quite athletic and agile, and is a natural fighter. Seven is also good at blending in and not letting herself get noticed, and has had considerable training in stealth.
Backstory: Before the disaster with the Star Heart, back on earth there was a tech company known as Raitech. On the surface they seemed to be just like any other tech company. Solid, produced good products at a good price, and always on top of their game. But unknownst to many, Raitech was a very, very corrupt company who was not above using corporate espionage and brute force to get what they wanted. To carry out their dirty work in an anonymous, silent fashion, Raitech turned to human cloning. It didn't matter to Raitech that human cloning was very illegal, because as long as it couldn't be traced back to them, they didn't care. NB-0007 was the seventh clone created by Raitech, created to do whatever the company needed her to do. Assassinate, corporate espionage, Seven did it all. On the outside she appeared to be completely loyal, but as her missions had her go out into the real world more and more, she began to realize that maybe, just maybe, what she was doing wasn't right.

One fateful day, she was tasked to assassinate an Raitech agent that had gone rogue. The agent had managed to make his way on board the Star-Saint, and Seven followed disguised as a soldier. Then the whole tragedy struck. The agent that Seven had been track was one of the many that were killed, and Seven was forced to work together with the other crew members to survive. After 5 years on board, Seven had been set pretty straight. It was tough at times, especially when it was discovered she was not a crew member and was a clone, but she managed to work with the other crew members enough to earn their respect.

When the Star-Saint finally reached Mars, Seven was shocked to discover that all of Raitech had been completely eradicated (as had all of Earth). Now stuck, knowing no one and having no where to go, Seven started her new life on Mars...
  6. I’m just gonna reject the entire character

I’m almost certain that your character does not fit the premise of this Rp. A GMO assassin whose only defining characteristics seem to be increased durability and having Too Many weapons doesn’t really fit the idea of a United Human force against invading aliens. It feels like you wrote a character you liked for one rp and just tired to shoe-horn them directly into this rp by whatever means necessary. Without even adjusting them to truly fit the rp framework.

And you completely ignored that fact I told you this rp would take place on the Star Saint after it had left Mars. Your backstory makes out as if the setting is going to be Mars.
  7. Would something like regenerating cells faster along with helping others regenerate faster work? (Takes a lot more to help heal others.)

    Name: Bam Murphy
    Call-sign: Daemon
    Age: 26
    Birthplace: London, Earth
Appearance: Bam is 6'8" kind of skinny, with white blonde hair and grey eyes. In his demonic form he is 7'2", muscular, with white hair and black eyes, his hands and feet become clawed and he gains dark grey horns.
Weapon(?): A modified laser bladed claymore (Medieval sword).
Powers(?): He can transform into his demon form, in this form he gains pyrokinesis, regeneration and super strength.
Skills: He is an ace pilot.
Backstory: Murphy was born into a very military orientated family, his father was a ship captain, his mother was a retired admiral. So he joined a flight school and became an ace pilot in a matter of a few years.

He was shortlisted for several ships but none of the captains would keep him, they all said he was disobedient and a danger to the crew. When he joined Star-Saint he was on his last chance with threats of his piloting license being revoked. He never expected the flares to occur, but when they did he had been on the brig, awakening a month later in his demonic form, he spent approximately a year before perfecting his ability to change back and forth at will.
  9. Sounds good

You will need a SIGNIFICANTLY expanded application for me to consider accepting you

What things exactly would you like to be expanded
  11. Everything could use some more detail but specifically;
Appearance: scars? Tell me about his eyes, are they sunken in? Too large for his head, piecing? Any other distinguishing Facial features? What’s his Complexion? What sort of Outfits does he usually wear?
Weapon: why does he have this sword?, is it significant to him or did you just decide you wanted a laser sword
Powers: why did he develop a demon form?, what made that form manifest out of anything else?
Skill: what makes him a skilled pilot?, any other skills that aren’t vanilla or one dimensional?
BACKSTORY: This needs to be SIGNIFICANTLY longer and much more detailed.
  12. I'm not that great at expanding bios and judging that you want bios expanded I find that you may also want our posts bigger. I keep my posts to a minimum of 3 lines. I try to go farther but that's only if I have enough to respond to, enough thought in my head, and it's a starter. I just want to know if you do want us to do longer/more detailed posts or you just want detailed bios.
  13. I can work with high quality short posts provided I have enough of a bio to go off of. So ideally I’d like both to be longer but an in a pinch a nice expansive bio is ok with high quality shorter posts

@Frontier Master here is the edited Bio.
    Name: Bam Murphy
    Call-sign: Daemon
    Age: 26
    Birthplace: London Earth
Appearance: Bam is 6'8" kind of skinny, with white blonde hair and storm grey eyes. He has a small x shaped star on his left cheek from an accident during his flight training and a jagged scar along his back from a spinal enhancement after his spine was damaged in a car accident when his dad was on his phone while driving. He usually wears a pair of slightly tattered jeans, a white T-shirt and a large, baggy, black hoodie with white, slightly greyed trainers. In his demonic form he is 7'2", muscular, with white hair and black eyes, his hands and feet become clawed and he gains dark grey horns.
Weapon(?): A modified laser bladed claymore (Medieval sword). This sword is a Murphy family heirloom given to him by his father.

Powers(?): He can transform into his demon form, in this form he gains pyrokinesis, regeneration and super strength. He later discovered that he gained this formed due to pent up anger towards his father for many things like the crash and for always looking down on him, this anger and hatred is why he gained a demonic form.

Skills: He is an ace pilot after his dad kept him practicing all the time, he can pull off tight manouvers and fly almost any kind of ship. He is also poly-linguistic, he speaks most earth languages as well as some alien ones as well, this is due to his mother originally wanting him to become a politician or an admiral.

Backstory: Murphy was born into a very military orientated family, his father was a starship captain, his mother was a retired admiral. He was conditioned into wanting to join the military through his entire child, eventually when he was old enough he joined a flight school and became an ace pilot in a matter of a few years due to his father's constant criticism and discipline.

When he was of fighting age he was shortlisted for several ships but none of the captains would keep him, they all said he was disobedient and a danger to the crew. When he joined Star-Saint, at the age of 19, he was on his last chance with threats of his piloting license being revoked. He never expected the flares to occur, but when they did he had been on the brig, awakening a month later in his demonic form, he spent approximately a year before perfecting his ability to change back and forth at will.

When they reached Mars he was happy to be out of the ship and he fooled around for awhile, during the 4 years they were on Mars Bam grew up a bit, he didn't mess around as much and he even helped to create the schematics for the FTL Drive and he ran the flight training courses for the Mars settlers. When they set off for battle, Bam was happy to rejoin Captain Xavier on the Star-Saint.
  15. I’d still need more backstory, have a look at mine and see to expanding further
