Type. Ghost-types are immune to Normal and Fighting attacks, be they physical or special in nature, unless this immunity is disabled via attacks such as Foresight or Odor Sleuth.

To answer an unanswered question....

Meowth uses the coin on his head for Pay Day. It is revealed in an episode that meowth's head coin is removable.

To further elaborate on a question....

So Ditto transforms into his partner to have babies, right? Well, if Ditto was accurately transforming into its partner, than wouldn't that mean that it'd be both female or both male at the breeding center? ??? Maybe pokemon are hermaphroditic...

And to ask questions of my own...

1. Is Miltank a Female Tauros?
2. Why do Azumarril and wobuffet need incenses to reproduce? Does it work like Mood candles or something?
3. Gyarados is a Water/Flying type....what?!?
4. So all Pokemon are Reptilian because they lay eggs?

4. So all Pokemon are Reptilian because they lay eggs?

1.I assume it is,since cows are female bulls and bulls are male cows (i think?)

2.This has been jokes around a bit...i dont think they need incenses just they need them to have wyunaut and the baby maril

3.Well its a water pokemon, and it can fly without wings somehow...yes it looks dragonlike...dunno why it isnt.

4.Different world, different rules.Pokemon arn't like our animals.Do our animals survive total abuse without so much as an inch of blood?

I have never taught my Gyarados a flying attack, it should really have been water/dragon, maybe since it levels up with really good stats, they had to make it flying just to weaken it?

1.Pikachu is a mouse, right? Although he resembles a Squirrel and rabbit getting together at the circus....

2.Why Pikachu? does PIkachu have a japanese meaning?

3. Has anyone noticed that the Red's pikachu in GS can use electric attacks on rock and ground pokemon? Was it an attempt to make him more ash-like?

1. Well, Pikachu's limbs are short and stubby like a mouses. Aslo, it's ears are black at the ends, like some mice.

2. Well, I'm not sure what 'Pika' means, but I do know that 'chu' means 'mouse' in japanese.

3. It might be a glitch, considering Gamefreak...

1.http://www.psypokes.com/dex/psydex/025 Pokedex agrees.I believe mouse is due to his rodent like self, being small and walking on fours i guess.

2.[quote name='Wikipedia]The name Pikachu is a portmanteau of the Japanese words pika' date=' an onomatopoeia for electric sparkling, and chū, which is the Japanese onomatopoeia for a mouse's squeak. The name is similar to, although not based on that of the pika, a small lagomorph.[/quote']

portmanteau = a new word formed by joining two others and combining their meanings; "'smog' is a blend of 'smoke' and 'fog'"; "'motel' is a portmanteau word made by combining 'motor' and 'hotel'"

onomatopoeia =the formation of a word, as cuckoo or boom, by imitation of a sound made by or associated with its referent.

lagomorph = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lagomorph

For referances in case you dont know those words

3.I believe its to make pikachu a threat.I remember reading that the G/S/C Red is based off Ash in the anime, and Red in the manga.Pikachu is the anime characters main pokemon and strongest, and to have it be beaten easily by those two types would be a major upset.

I doubt this has been asked before, but seriously, how come there are female Machamp and Machoke? I mean, Machamp and Machoke don't have boobs. XD Machop I can understand, 'cause little girls are not... fully developed yet. XD Oh, another random question, but are male Gardevoir gay? XD

And about the Aerial Ace thing... well, my theory is that in the RS and FR/LG (don't know about DP) games, Aerial Ace is seen as like a cut/slash move, so basically, anyone that has at least sharp claws can use Aerail Ace. Anyway, that's just my two cents. ;)

(sighs)

Whoooooooooboy. If I had a dollar for every time I heard that ridiculous question, I would have been rich enough to buy half this planet and exterminate all who ask it.

Look. Breasts are a human thing, okay? For one, only mammals have teats and milk glands and all that cal, and most of them don't even HAVE prominent development around the mammaries except when they are actually nursing their young, and even so, their teats do not explode to like porn-star levels. Human beings are perhaps the only creatures that have omnipresent mammarial growths.

The Machop/Machoke/Machamp line are non-mammalian - and therefore have no need for teats (as they do not produce milk to feed their young) - and therefore sure as hell don't need breasts to lug about and develop severe back aches due to the existence of.

Just because a species is anthropomorphic doesn't mean it absolutely HAS to adhere to human looks. Ergo, just because Machop/Machoke/Machamp are biped anthropomorphs does not mean they have to have human looks, and just because Gardevoirs are slender and vaguely humanshaped with growths that resemble a ballgown DOESN'T mean they are all frilly and flowery and sure as HELL doesn't imply anything about their sexual preferences. In fact, most likely, male Gardevoir are far more manly than the fanservicy evolution Nintendo came up with this generation just because people were being childish about it.

Alright, why are Ralts, Kirlia, Gardevoir and Gallade classified under the "Intermediate" Egg Group when they clearly look more human than say a Magmar, who is in the "Human-Shape" Egg Group?

069.jpg

O RLY?

Ralts has a bowl-cut xD

how come palkia is a water/dragon, and dialga is steel/dragon? not suitable types, considering the space/time thing.

Palkia is Dragon/Water because pearls come from clams and clams live in water. Dialga is Dragon/Steel because diamonds are minerals, like various metals (such as steel).

Tsk, tsk, tsk, David... "O RLY?" I expected more from someone who actually read the rules. This form of Troll-spammerism (freakishly short posts anyone?) is not welcome here. Thou gets-eth a warning. Tread Lightly.

Sonjo - Ralts DOES have eyes. Its helmet/hair/whatever however, obscures them.

greatest wonder of pokemon...uhhh Who is Ash's Dad?

And is food in the Pokemon world made from Pokemon?

A lot of our pokedex information describes a pokemon as a real animal (i.e. pikachu, electric mouse pokemon, pidgey, bird pokemon) Yet no one in the POkeworld has considered to wonder what a "bird" or a "mouse" is ;D

Although this has been remedied in the generation 3 pokemon (rather than referring to numel as a pokemon for example, he is referred to as a numb pokemon)

a) given, no one actually knows

b) well, team rocket DID try to eat that magikarp in the cruise-ship/sinking-cruise-ship episode(s)

c) have you ever read any of the "hitch hiker's guide to the galaxy" series? seriously, it could explain a lot of this stuff.

The third statement is not a question, it's something i just noticed, and yes, I have read the entire Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series. favorite book ftw ;D

So...when did Kadabra get his Spoons, and better question, what exactly is Kadabra based on?

Mew: Kangaroo or mouse?

Why does only R/S/E character have a dad? You would think they would continue what they started in the third in D/P. But alas, your father doesn't exist.

People were probably annoyed with the series having a single mom again, so the developers thought of a twist, you have a dad, and not just any dad, a gym leader!

I've got another one:

How come, whenever the anime moves into a new region, sometimes there'll be flashbacks with pokemon from that region. Aren't pokemon for the new region 'newly discovered'?

Rocket X: Kadabra got his spoons the same place Hitmonchan got his Tunic, Machoke and Machamp got their Underpants and Belt, and Croconaw got his Caveman Outfit - Crazy Sugimori's Outfit Emporium! Buy two spoons today and get a power belt for a Machamp for half price - and he's cutting his own throat here!

Mew is modeled after a Kangaroo Mouse, actually. Desert rodents FTFRELLINGW.

Carmen Lopez: Because, Rule #56897345 of Japanese RPGs - THE MAIN CHARACTER NEVER HAS TWO PARENTS. Either one of them (or both) are dead, they get killed through the plot, they're just mysteriously non present, or they're really evil. That's how these things work. >>

Sonjo: No. They aren't. Johto was considered to have 'newly discovered' species in the games, because they supposedly took place in the future of RBY. None of the Gen3 and/or Gen4 games ever suggested the species are 'newly discovered species'. Besides, THE ANIME. IS NOT. THE FREAKING GAMES. X_x

Blue: He got it from his twisted imagination. There is no official confirmation to what the Abra line is supposed to be.

I got another one...

So I'm just wondering if the movies affect the series' storyline at all, because whenever Ash encounters a legendary POkemon in the series, which he has previously encountered in the movies, he has no recollection of ever encountering such a pokemon before (i.e. Lugia, Entei, etc.) The only legendary he has a flashback about is Ho-oh, and it's the first legendary to make an appearance in the series....

The movies probably take place in alternate dimensions, because there is no chance in fuck one dork got to save the world THIS many times.

Don't you get it stel, the only person to save the world this many times was Superman

Therefore, by association... Ash is actually from Krypton, however in the pokémon world he has no powers except complete retardation with regards to catching pokémon....

Ash - "Wow, look at that.... it looks freaking badass!!!" *walks away*

Just because they look like foxes to you doesn't mean that they are based on foxes.

In fact, have you even taken a look at these things from a biological point of view? Their faces might looks vaguely fox-like but that is where the resemblance ends.

The entire line is vaguely anthropomorphous and appears to be protected by armor-like plates, complete with joints to allow movement (compare with terran Arthropods, such as crabs, spiders and insects.) However, these plates are possibly flexible (as evident by the line's 'fingers' and 'toes' not being segmented but rather movable in the manner of vertebrates) at some areas, only developing into harder, more armor-like plating later in life. the arrangement of the line's leg claws (two 'toes' and a third opposable toe/dewclaw, similar to the claw arrangement on birds) suggests that the line's primordial root may have been arboreal in the past. In fact, Abra's life cycle (as opposed to its more active later forms) seems to be highly resemblant of Earth Koalas - sleeping 18 hours a day, only awakening to feed. As the line evolves, it becomes even more anthropomorphic and active (interestingly enough the opposable dewclaw fades into a small stub as the line evolves and switches to a more plantigrade formation).

While their face has a therapsid or a mammalian appearance, complete with whiskers (potentially these are powerful sensory organs, like whiskers on earth felines - the sensitivity of these organs, heightened instincts and psychic powers allow Abras to detect danger and teleport away at need), nothing much else about Abra, from their armor plating to their massive, rather reptillian-looking tail (which mysteriously drops off when the line reaches its final evolution, the most anthropomorphic of its kind) particularily resembles any sort of mammal. Whatever Abras are - they are not even distantly related to any earth phylum, or particularly resemble anything of the sort.

Ergo Abras =/= Foxes. Thank you and have a nice day.

how in the world could the abra line have an exoskeleton?

have you SEEN their defense base stats?

i agree with you wholeheartedly that they aren't foxes, but i think that it's more likely that they were based off of cats/humans, judging by the whiskers and ears. also, due to one of the pokedex entries, a boy with ESP turned into a kadabra, so that would explain the human similarities...

lol, on the subjewct of Kadabra, if Psychic Pokemon are so smart, why don't they attempt to take over the world (cept maybe for mewtwo he's tried that) I mean Alakazam's IQ is like 50,000 or something, yet he is but a lowly gladiator who beats crap out of other pokemon for fun.....I smell plotholes...

It's because Alakazam already knows he/she it going to get pwned by a Sybleye, so he/she doesn't stand a chance against the whole world. Plus there are a lot of pokemon that can withstand and pwn psychic type. Duh!

Why can't Evee evolutions be found in the wild?

trophy garden. (close enough)

alakazams, on average, have 5000 IQ. and the one from PRT had supposedly studied the entire history of the earth. so why doesn't Team Rocket's meowth ask that alakazam if arceus is actually god?

Tipple, if I may point out that most insects have an exoskeleton and they are still easily pwned by the power of an unwary foot that might step on them? Just having an exoskeleton doesn't mean that they HAVE to be tanks. Still, they probably just have external plate-like scales, or whatever - considering the fact their hands and feet are unarmored and are still mobile.

Regarding their base defenses and crap - Well, the entire line is slowly muscle-atrophizing as they evolve, requiring the use of more and more telekinesis just to keep themselves moving. Next you people are going to say that Alakazam are based on Steven Hawking. Onoespass!

As for the 5000 IQ thing - The RBY generation is fucking full of wild, unscientific exaggerations. It's like Vaporeon having the Molecular Consistency of Water (which is not only impossible, it's also improbable), Jolteon's electricity coming from accumulating negative ions (not to be a party-smasher here, but IONS ARE ELECTRICALLY CHARGED ATOMS. In order to attract negative ions he should have positive charge of his own anyway - which would probably end up with his fur constantly crackling and sparking and creating salt sediments.

I don't see any dolphins trying to start a global revolution on earth

*resists the hitchiker's guide reference*

*asks Stel to stop calling me Tipple*

*in the process, asks everyone to stop calling me Tipple*

Stel, if i may point out that most insects are hundreds--nay, thousands--of times smaller than humans? now, if they were human-sized, and their exoskeletons appropriately dilated (whatever you want that word to be), their exoskeleton would be MUCH stronger. and appropriately, their defense would be much stronger.

In English please?

that was english, and the gist of it is:

humans are bigger than ants. and if the ants were as big as humans, feet would not be as effective.

because their shells would be bigger and thicker than if the ant were the size most ants were supposed to be.
