Can you post a link when it's made?
I've posted my character.. hopefully it meets the requirements needed to be in. I can change anything if I need to.
Yeah it’s good! I’ll make the thread now. Sorry it took awhile everyone, I’ve been writing like crazy this whole day o.o
It's completely fine! I was busy today so I was lucky it wasn't up already. I probably would've started late.
https://pokecharms.com/threads/secrane-region-adventures-await.21363/ It is up!
It's late for me and I am coming off, so based on time zones I guess I might be starting late.
Are there contests in this region? I'd love to play a character who's more focused on doing well in contests than the gym challenge
Do you mean coordinator contests?
I'd like to join this too, but I'd want to have my character partake in Pokemon Coordinating as well, or Pokemon Showcases if you don't have Pokemon Contests. Is that possible?
Well it has already been stated in my character Sarah's gym that she holds contest there. So we could do something with that.
That doesn’t seem like a bad idea. I guess I’ll include coordinating. I was unsure because I’m actually quite unfamiliar with it.
I can help with it if you like. I have been in a few RPs that were centered around it. Though I do not know that much I know the basics.
I edited my post, if there was any confusion on the phrasing there lol
But is that a confirmation that Pokemon Coordinating is allowed?
Yup. I’m pretty sure it was just in the anime (i’ve never played the games) and the only idea I have of it is Pokémon performers in Kalos. Is it the same thing, just without the keys? Or are there minor differences I should know of?
Ok so performing has three stages. The enterance, the performance and the battle. There is a theme that has to be followed when performing. There is usually two or three judges that work to decide who will win. Instead of keys there are ribbons that people collect.
Thanks you! Are the three stages each hosted in different areas? I don’t mean to bug you, I just kind of need to know about that one.
No they or usually in two different locations. The enterance and performance is in the same place usually a stage of some kind. It would be decorated to fit the theme. The battle would be in a different part it is usually a gym like arena that is interchangeable.
Thanks, that’s all I need to know!
You are very welcome. Sarah's gym could be a great place to hold Showcases. Her and the gym trainers could double as the staff and perform for intermission and such.
Question, would we be able to battle in gyms without a gym leader in it or is it off limits until someone fills in that spot?
Off limits, since we don’t know anything about those gyms until someone eventually signs up as the gym leaders.
I could make another gym leader if you want.
Also, you can add my gym leader to the beginning post. I didn't see her there.
Oops, sorry! I forgot. Thanks for reminding me.
I need a suggestion on where to start Allie. I want to get her interacting with other characters right away.
Maybe she can be visiting a friend in Alryne? I have Brielle there and she’s dead open for anyone to be interacting with.
Name: Wes Toru
Appearance: Wes has dreamed of being a Pokémon trainer his entire life and looks the part. He has tan skin from being outside all the time and dark brown eyes. Wes wears a navy hat with a gray area in the front over his dark messy brown hair. He wears a red short sleeve zip-up hoodie with a gray hood over a long sleeve plain white undershirt. Wes also wears navy blue jeans, black trainer gloves, and red sneakers.
Personality: Wes is typically laid back and easy going, simply laughing at his own misfortunes or insults to him. However, when someone he cares for is troubled or insulted, he will stop at nothing to make things right. He is very intelligent and his greatest asset in battles is his adaptability and creativity, which allow him to come up with unique techniques.
Backstory: Wes is the third oldest of four children born to wealthy engineers who work at the Cinnabar Island Laboratory. While he, along with his older siblings, is extremely intelligent and a naturally talented trainer; Wes values making meaningful connections with his Pokémon over just taking the strong ones. He does not seem intelligent at a glance as he can be rather blunt with what he says, and can be considered annoying or clingy. However, both of those traits are rather symptoms of him being extremely caring, wanting to provide for everyone he cares for. He often volunteered to help out the local Gym Leader, Blaine, as he was infatuated with Blaine’s balance of intelligence and close connections with his Pokémon. Wes and Blaine share a father and son type relationship since Wes hung around with Blaine more than his constantly working father, with Blaine constantly critiquing Wes in order to make him both a better trainer and scientist. It is clear Blaine sees potential in Wes, giving him a Growlithe he bred for Wes’s 10th birthday present. When Wes turned 13, Blaine gifted him a Pokédex, pokeballs, and a boat ticket to Pallet Town, claiming it was the best place to start his journey. Wes’s goal is to prove his worth to his elitist family, and, more importantly, Blaine, by becoming a Pokémon Master.
Partner: Growlithe (Now an Arcanine).

Moveset: Thunder Fang (Egg), Swift (Egg), Night Slash (Egg), Leer, Tackle, Charge
How did they meet?: Wes saw Dunsparce getting picked on by a group of trainers for being weak and decided to take it in and train it to stand up to the power of Dunsparce's role models- Dragon Type Pokemon

Moveset: Dragon Rush, Drill Run, Air Slash, Thunderbolt (Tm), Fire Blast (Tm), Ice Beam (Tm), Roost, Calm Mind (Tm), Last Resort, Trump Card
will moves like fly work in this rp?
Yeah, I suppose so.
Well seeing as how RPs are like the anime and not the game. It would be very likely that they would aready know how to do that. It is not like a bird pokemon that has wings to not know the move fly to just walk around. But give it this HM and wowza they can do something they already knew hot to do. It even states that in the rules of Pokecharms that moves are like the anime and not the games.
ah, thanks for clarifying
You are welcome sorry for being a bit sarcastic. I have had a bit of a hectic day.
I'll make my introduction later, which area is everyone starting in?
Sarah and Tyler are in Celdara. They are jogging around the town talking about the showcase that Sarah's gym is setting up for.
I think it could be personal choice. I started in Azura town (since im leader there) and now im headed for another.
Oswald started in Malburgh City and is heading towards Celdara City to see the gym leader.
Brielle is in Alryne, and Santino is in Celdara.
