Private/Closed RWBY: A New Story

"Yeah. They won't be the most even because you know stretching the limit of semblances. Also the bridge can be used for the other teams," Evelyn shrugged and folded her arms under her hoodie. She started to walk forward into the ruins.

Ryan stood next to Topaz. "So if you don't want to get back from the way we came then where is the way that you want to go back with?" HE asked. "And in what way would it be dangerous?" Ryan asked intrigued.

"Way we came is too long and too dangerous. We might run into another Grimm like the one we just killed." Topaz said. "And I'm in no shape to do that again. We're going to climb up the cliff, using Evelyn's powers. Useful semblance, giving us stairs. Evelyn, start the stairs from that spire. It'll allow us to walk straight and up to reach the top of the cliff in the least amount of time."

Evelyn climbed her way up to where she was supposed to be making the stairs. She started to whistle and lept forward, landing on her first pillar. She wasn't making the largest ones, not wanting to over do herself as she built everything.

Ryan watched as Evelyn built the staircase with pillars. "You could have been less direct with that request you know." He said to Topaz. He held out his hand. "You need some help?" He asked.

Evelyn swung from one of the pillars to the next. She was leaving space between them so that her friends and who ever else would have to jump between the steps. She sat on the last one once done and tapped the front side of it to flatten it like she had done to the bridge. Once done she bounced back down the steps, flattening them.

"Thanks, Evelyn." Topaz said, hopping up the steps. Reaching the top, he arrived at the cliff. Looking back, he saw the majesty of the forest. "Beautiful. Hey, Vanyali! You coming?"
(@Eevee E get over here)

"Yeah," Evelyn nodded and flopped onto the ground. She laid on her back and laid her arms out to her sides. She looked dip at the sky and blew a lock of hair out of her face, "I could go for a nap".

Vanyali jumped from pillar to pillar, before landing on her feet next to Topaz. She then turned to Evelyn. "A nap does sound nice. But we should probably save that for when we get back to Beacon. I don't fancy the idea of a Grimm sneaking up on us and killing us in the middle of a nap." She replied, and turned back to Topaz. "We ready to head out?"

"Of course." Topaz said. "Let's move! We've gotta get back to Ozpin!" Topaz ran out, dashing along the cliff to where Ozpin would be.

A few minutes later, he arrived, skidding to a halt. "Topaz and Vanyali. Two relics. I believe we've completed our mission, professor?"

Ryan also appeared on the side of the cliff. "We're too professor Ozpin." He pulled out the relic from his pocket and held it in front of him. "We also have our relics." He said.

Vanyali followed her partner from where they had been previously, being right behind the human the entire time. As Topaz spoke with the Professor and mentioned the "relics," Vanyali took hers out of her pocket, flashing it to Ozpin.

Evelyn followed her apparent partner. She yawned and rubbed her eyes. She pulled out her relic and showed it to the older person. She then flopped onto her back again, tucking her arms under head, "nap time yet"?

Ozpin, straightened his glasses and took the relics from each student who had them. "Okay, well I'll call you when the ceremony starts. We still have a few groups that haven't completed their trial." He said ushering them away.

Evelyn yawned. She rolled onto her chest and pressed her hands up. Quickly she bounced upwards onto her feet. She walked in the direct that ozpin ushered them in.

Topaz walked where Ozpin had ordered his group to. He saw a tree, and quickly climbed up. Lying down on a branch, he looked out. "Hope the others will finish up soon. Shouldn't take too long."

Seeing that the deathstalker was distracted by Yuuji and the guy with the wings Niko decided now was his chance to strike. Its not often a hunter is given the chance to catch one of these grimm unaware after all, too many eyes. There was somebody missing from this fight though....Ah. Shit.

"Sorry I guess that I lost track of you in the heat of the moment" Niko said with a grimace as he rushed over to Orchids side in an attempt to help his partner. "Are you alright?"

No shit sherlock Orchid snapped mentally. Her face settled into something annoyed, as she indeed felt that way. She tightened her grip on her weapon, not wanting to drop or loose it now that she had little to no way of seeing anything around her, other than the Deathstalker Grimm, still lit up by the dart she had planted early on into the soil beneath it.

"Message well received." Niko said after seeing the look on Orchid's face, turning away from his partner and back towards the Deathstalker. There would be time to deal with princess moody later, for now he had arthropod ass to kick and there wasn't a force on Remnant that could stop him from doing so. Even so as he charged back into the fray he couldn't help but be a little reminded of the annoyed look his sister so often wore. Why were girls always so angry?

Upon reaching the scorpion Niko suddenly slid beneath the defence of its already maimed claws and activated both of the Sun bringers at their full force which sent him right under the grimm via the thrust provided by the flames the weapons pumped out. With no smart alec quip just a gleeful laugh Niko launched himself into an uppercut that had so much raw strength behind it that the Deathstalker was actually sent into the air.

Orchid twitched upon hearing the sickening crack that sent the Grimm into the air. Drawing her weapon and reshaping it into a sniper, she aimed in the direction of the Grimm and cursed. Because it was in the air, she lost all sight of it as it left the range of her sound dart. Frantically, she scrambled, knowing any second now she would loose her window. Suddenly, with a silent cackle, a small lightbulb seemed to go off in her head as she twisted a small dial on her sniper.

Suddenly, the dart imbedded in the ground exploded with an ear bleeding screech, drowning out everything in the general area. Trees, grass, the Grimm, even her teammates all lit up in detailed clarity as if she could see again. Orchid nearly paused, the sound almost granted her full vision minus color, until the sound began to hurt her ears. She groaned, aiming again with some struggle from the noise, now more than ever she wished for it to be silent again.

She pulled the trigger, the resounding shot managed to overpower the gradually fading screech, and for a brief moment, time and sound seemed to still. And then the bullet sank into the Grimm and with a cry of agony the beast exploded. The sound from the dart finally faded away completely, and Orchid dropped her gun. She screamed, although only air escaped her mouth, as she gripped her ears in pain, even the silence was painful. Orchid doubled over and finally collapsed onto her side.

"Sweet! We killed the thing!" Yuuji shouted, doing a funky victory dance. He ran ahead to see the ruins, complete with all the artifacts. He grabbed the King of Hearts card and shouted at the top of his lungs. "Hey! I found the artifacts. C'mon Niko, grab your team's and let's head back!"

Man... She's an amazing shot. Xailiar thought to himself, watching the Desthstalker explode, then focused on helping his fallen comrade. He ran over to her, noting her mouth was open, and it finally clicked. Oh... She's lost her voice. And if she uses that to see... Suddenly remembering something he had with him, he looked down at his wrist, ejected the medical pack, and took out a small tablet. "I, um... I have a cough tablet, if you need it." Xailiar told her, his typical shyness coming back now that the fight was finished

"That was wicked!" Niko gleefully exclaimed as he watched the deathstalker meet its grisly demise, each part of it dissolving into a wispy black smoke. The joy that came from his first kill as a student of Beacon was enough to make the young hunter literally jump for joy, pumping the air with his fist. That wasn't everything though, the experience of working as a time to take down something this large and powerful wasn't something he had ever experienced before and honestly he had enjoyed it, getting to see all these different skills come together was badass. If this was how things continued it was going to be one hell of a school year.

Upon seeing that Orchid was still downed Niko groaned internally. He had failed to protect his partner and she had to reach the finish with him, something she looked in no condition to be doing. Making up his mind in a split second decision he stalked over to Orchid and the dude with wings, brushing the latter aside with the remnants of his fire boosted strength.
"No time for arguing, we are not being the last pair to get back to that cliff." He explained to Orchid as he hefted her over one shoulder and began to sprint in the direction of the relics, carrying the girl as effortlessly as he would if he were bringing in the shopping.

"Nice shot by the way grumps, couldn't have done it better myself." Niko commented once the relics had come into sight. For real this time, not "Relics that may or may not be a deathstalker" kinda relics. Eyeing up the remaining cards on offer he grabbed the king card and slipped into his back pocket. With no time to waste the Pyro immediately began making his way back towards the cliff face.

Orchid soundlessly protested to being thrown over this lad's shoulder. Of course, struggling wasn't going to get her anywhere, and he was doing all the work for her. She couldn't see where she was walking anyhow, might as well hitch a ride, however short and unwilling it probably was going to be. With a small huff, she crossed her arms, luckily her weapon in hand, but she really wished that one of those boys helping them would be kind enough to retrieve her hat if possible. She did not want people opening conversation at all with her about her blindness, next thing you know it would lead to doubt and that was the last thing she needed. She killed a fucking Deathstalker, and on her first day, and anyone who thought she wasn't capable could go eat their hearts out. Especially her worry warted pair of parents.

Still hanging partially upside down, Orchid poked her unknown teammate's side. Yo, hot shot, are we there yet? She snarked to herself. Blindly amusing herself and trying to ignore his voice, it was starting to give her a migraine.

"Oi, quit it." Niko growled at his passenger as she poked him in the side, smoke unfurling from the corners of his mouth as he frowned. The answer to Orchids silent question however was a resounding yes though, the pair had just reached the outcrop at the top of the cliff where the rest of the pupils and Professor Ozpin had already assembled.

Ignoring the strange looks that he was receiving from a few students Niko waltzed up to where Yuuji was standing and gave him a grin, flashing the King card at the monkey faunus. Plonking Orchid back down beside him, Niko then proceeded to fish out her hat from the depths of his coat, placing it into her hands gently. Poor girl actually seemed pretty uncomfortable without it. At least he though it was discomfort he was seeing in her, it could just be another layer of annoyance. Hard to tell with this one. Probably the prior considering the state of her eyes though. Yes belive it or not Niko had actually been paying enough attention to his partner to realise she was blind but because it clearly didn't effect her skill on the battlefield he chose not to mention it. Girl clearly had her own secrets.

Orchid huffed as she landed roughly on her rear, scowling gently to herself. She was stuck with this guy, for one, and dear lord help her if he ended up leading their team. Although, maybe he wasn't all bad, he did seem to take care enough to return her hat back, without throwing it at her too. Fluffing the hat back out, she firmly secured it back into it's place upon her head, shadowing her scars again from view. The claws on her gauntlets and boots finally sheathed themselves back into the white metal armor, and she pushed herself to her feet. Stumbling from not knowing which way the ground was, she eventually stood next to her teammate, brushing the grass and dust off her black clothing.

Xailiar and Yuuji made their way up the cliff and handed Professor Ozpin their card. He acccepted it with a nod. "Everyone, in an hour we will begin the team picking ceremony so be ready," he sad waking away.

The hour passed without any issues and soon, the students and teachers alike were crammed together in a room. Standing center stage was Ozpin.

"Topaz Stone, Vanyali Gray, Ryan Green, and Evelyn Evergeen!" Ozpin called out, as the students stepped forward, and as his voice echoes through the large room. "You will forever be known as Tean TGRE, lead by Topaz Stone."

He allowed them to return to their seats and called a few more teams. Then a team that caught Yuuji's eye was one consisting of 3 girls and a boy called Team LYTE. They had some of the highest scoring participants grouped together.

After Team LYTE, returned to their seats, one final team was called.

"Orchid Blynde, Niko Lloyd, Yuuji Gull, and Xailier!" Again, like every other time they stepped forward. "You will forever be known as Team ONYX, lead by Orchid Blynde."

Applause filled the room, as people began to leave. "Set up your dorms, because tomorrow class, officially starts," Ozpin added to the dismissing crowd.

Vanyali clapped for the last team, team ONYX. So, she knew she was going to be teamed with Topaz, which she didn't think was too bad. She and Topaz got along well enough. She supposed it made sense that Ryan and Evelyn were her other teammates, though. They cooperated well enough during their fight with that mutant Taijitu, and she was sure Ozpin had cameras or something hidden everywhere.

Evelyn seemed like a lax person, and Ryan seemed laid back. That had been her main concern. She had no idea what would be in store for her when it came to her team. So far, it seemed to have worked out. However, she did feel bad for team ONYX's leader. Based on her behavior at the cliff when they returned from the Emerald Forest, Vanyali could only assume she wasn't exactly a social person, and one her teammates, a monkey Faunus, seemed to absolutely radiate positivity. Definitely an extrovert, that one. She wasn't sure about ONYX's other team members, though. Vanyali, however, didn't dislike her team. Yet, anyway. "Should we get to our dorms?" She inquired, looking to her new teammates.

"Of course." Ryan said as he got up. "The dorm rooms are this way right?" He said pointing a hallway. After walking for a bit, he arrived in front of a door. "Hey guys I think this is our room." He called.

Topaz had been happy with his team choice, as he felt they were a good pick. Vanyali, Ryan and Evelyn were good fighters, each with their own good skills they could add to the team. As the leader, Topaz would have to figure out how to make the best use of those skills in battle.
Vanyali' unique weapon allows her to easily adapt to many situations. Her nunchaku mode for close combat, her sniper mode for long-ranged combat, and her glance for anything in between. Her Copycat semblance that he had seen her use could also be quite useful.
Ryan's weapon is quite unique as well. Topaz hasn't seen his semblance yet, though. He'd have to ask him about that. Ryan's also good at improvisation, but can be a bit oblivious. Also a bit foolish.
To Topaz, Evelyn's weapons seemed just a bit lacklustre. But he knew her semblance made up for that. It was a strong one.
Overall, Topaz knew he had a good team. Now they just had to work like it.
He followed Ryan, nodding as he arrived at the dorms. Ozpin had given him the key, so he opened it. "The room's… pretty big." he said.
It was a normal-sized room.

Niko was rather pleased with his team, it had Yuuji in it for a start and he seemed like a good laugh, Orchid may be a bit too grumpy for his liking but she had shown off some pretty superb skills on the battlefield and as for Xailier....well his suit was pretty cool. He hadn't really seen enough of the kid to get a decent read on him but he seemed solid enough.

One thing that Niko couldn't care less about was that he hadn't received the role of team leader, he actually felt a twinge of sympathy for Orchid who now had to carry that responsibility. That kind of thing could put a lot of pressure on a person, his grandfather had told him tales of his own team from back in the day and how tough being the leader of such an elite squad could really be.

"How did I know I'd end up with you man?" Niko laughed as he gave Yuuji a friendly slap on the back as they walked towards the location of their new dorm.

Ryan walked into the room after Topaz and looked around. "Yeah this room is quite big." He said. He walked to the window and saw that there was a big tree outside it. "Nice a tree." he thought to himself. Ryan then grabbed his bag. "Should we start unpacking?" He asked opening his bag.

"Didn't bring much." Topaz said. He organized his things in a little corner, opposite of one of the beds. He dropped his bag on said bed. "I'm taking this one." Topaz then set up his training dummy, his small stack of books (mostly combat training ones) and hung up a picture on the wall. The picture showed what looked like a younger Topaz and three other people.

Evelyn followed her team. She wandered over to a bed and face planted it. Her eyes closing and breathing slowing as she relaxed. She rolled over and looked up at the ceiling with a stupid smile.

Yuuji gave a goofy grin. "Maybe cause we both picked the King. Cause we are the rulers of the world. Woohoo!" He shouted waving his arms in the air, like he was in a rave.

In Yuuji's opinion, the team wasn't that bad. He liked Niko, he was cool. Yuuji was stuck with Xailier, nevertheless and he seemed like a good fighter. Orchid was pretty strong, stronger than he had expected from a blind girl. But Orchid and Xailier seemed a bit too quiet for his taste.

"Oh, yeah, I call the bed closest to the window! I'm gonna set it up so I can leave if I want to! So yeah, dibs!" Yuuji shouted as they approached the room, which was right across from the newly formed, Team TGRE. He tried the doorknob, to learn it was locked. "Hey Orchid! Did you get a key or something?"

Orchid rolled her eyes gently, so she had a jokester, a hot shot, a shy kid, and to top it off, she was the only girl in her team and she was leading all of them. She sighed dramatically, but pulling the room key out of thin air she tossed it to the monkey Faunus. She couldn't wait to go inside and have some tea, that way she could actually talk to her teammate's until her semblence recharged.

Yuuji's tail snapped back to catch the key. Yuuji then took it and unlocked the door, allowing it to swing open. The room was barren except for two large desks, some dressers, and four beds, each lined up witj two against the wall and two on either side of the window. Yuuji set the key on the nearest dresser, and dove headfirst onto the right, window bed. "I got dibs!" He sang loudly.

Niko was quick to enter the room after Yuuji and was pleased to see that all their bags and luggage had already been dumped inside, at least they wouldn't have to trek down to the great hall to gather it all up. Quickly claiming the bed closest to the door he began unpacking some of his clothes and hanging them up in the nearest wardrobe, humming to himself as he did so. Next on his list of things to set up was a large silver pole which he pulled from his suitcase, examining it for a moment before pressing a button that caused it to expand into a kind of perch. With a content grin he placed this right next to his bedside table.

"Soooooo....I guess now that were all teammates we should be making an effort to get along right?" Niko said with his best attempt at a warm smile as he pulled a bag of marshmallows from somewhere in the depths of his coat. "Anybody for some smores?"

"S'mores? Gimme gimme," Yuuji said making grabbing motions with his hands, trying to roll over, onto his stomach. However he went a bit too far and fell out of the bed. "Ack! Oh, let's try not to burn the place down our first night." He added grinning, while laying on the floor.

Vanyali followed her teammates into their room and looked around. It had adequate space, and she could get used to it. She set her bag on the left-most bed, and sat down on it herself. All she had brought were extra clothes and some books. Well, some might have been an understatement. Truth was, she only brought two sets of extra clothes, and the rest of her large backpack was completely filled with books she had managed to purchase before heading to Beacon.

Huh, not too bad a team to be on, I suppose. Could be worse. Xanadu commented to himself on the way to the dorms. After arriving, he quickly claimed the bed next to the window, not really planning to be sleeping in the dorm all that much. He then set down the suitcase he'd picked up on the way and ejected the remaining items from Skydancer, setting them down on his bed. Xanadu desperately wanted to start working on repairing the damage done to his suit, but couldn't exactly expose his wings in a room with three other people. Even as that thought crossed his head, they gave an involuntary shift, and he quickly glanced at his back to make sure nothing was sticking out. But, as they shifted, the boy didn't notice two sky-blue feathers falling out of the rip in his arm, floating gently to land on the floor.

Ryan unpacked his clothes from his bag and put them in the closet drawers. He then pulled out a laptop and some other miscellaneous then put them on his desk. "There, finished." He said.
