Private/Closed Roomies!

Dylan smiled at Lis and waved. "Good morning! Sleep well? You look absolutely stunning, by the way." He checked his alarm clock and read the time: 8:45. "Well, it's almost time, huh?" He chuckled and pulled out a black drawstring bag out of his nightstand cabinet, filling it up with hair gel, the music score for his piece, and his formal attire. He unwrapped a peppermint candy and popped it into his mouth before offering one to Lis.

“I did, thank you,” she flushed, accepting the mint candy and unwrapping it to put in her mouth as well. Lis walked over to the hooks near her dresser and took her small brown purse, putting it around her neck and under her arm. She set her phone in the bag, and looked up at her roommate. “I’m ready when you are,” she said softly.

Dylan nodded and grinned before unplugging his charged phone and slipping it into his pocket. "We can take my car, if you want." He took his keys from where they hung on a rack and slung his bag over his shoulder. Dylan opened the door and held it open for Lis to exit, a smile on his face. Lis did indeed look angelic, and he found himself almost entranced by the sight.

After slipping on her strapped sandals, she head out the door with a “thank you.” Then she began to walk through the hall beside Dylan, into and down the elevator, and eventually into the sunny outdoors where she let Dylan lead her to his car. On arriving, she smiled and walked over to the passenger side, getting in with Dylan on the opposite of her.

Dylan stepped into his car and started the engine, exiting the parking lot and driving to the Blackholme Music Hall. It was a 15 minute drive, so Dylan decided to spark some conversation. "So... what happened two nights ago.." He chuckled at the thought, still dazed by what had happened. "Does this mean we're in a relationship or something like that?"

Lis’ ears turned red at the conversation starter. “Does it?“ she asked aloud, more to herself. Lis was quiet for a moment before she smiled. “Doesn’t it? I, mean...” she trailed off, looking out the window with a flushed face. Her heart pounded in her rib cage wildly.

Dylan chuckled and sighed. "You do have a good point." After a few seconds of silence, he smiled at Lis and reached over with his right hand to grasp hers, driving with his left. "Well, I'm okay with that." The car arrived at the Music Hall, and Dylan stepped out to open the door on Lis' side for her to exit as well.

Lis softly held his hand back as the pair made their way to the Music Hall. When they arrived, Lis took Dylan’s hand once again, stepping out of the vehicle. It was rather warm out, but in a comfortable way. “Lead the way,” she grinned, still holding his hand.

Dylan smiled and led Lis into the Music Hall, entering the building and looking around. It was quite full, and there were more competitors than he had expected. Dylan took a brochure from a nearby desk and handed it to Lis before checking his watch. 9:10. "Well, I should be in the holding area soon. My number's 7, so make sure to look out for that." He grinned and let go of Lis's hand before making his way to said area. Dylan headed inside a bathroom stall and changed into a tuxedo, applying some gel to his hair and smoothing it to the right.

Lis waved as Dylan disappeared into his said area. She glanced around for a few moments before beginning to search for a seat in the auditorium. Of course, a ton of seats were taken. One, however stood out to Lis, and she immediately went over to investigate.

Directly in the first row was an open spot - right in the middle. Coincidence? Or.. fate? Lis asked herself as she sat down, sinking into the cushioned chair. People were sat all around her as she waited.

Dylan looked around in the holding area as many competitors prepared to perform. Some looked slightly comfortable, while others looked absolutely petrified. He chuckled to himself and sat down on a bench, looking over his music score. Soon, one of the assistants called out, "Number 7: Dylan Sage, please wait in front of the gate." Dylan nodded and complied, standing in front of the double doors that led to the stage. On the corner of said stage, another assistant pulled out a square board with a 7 in bold text, placing it on a canvas.

Lis patiently glanced around, not paying much attention to anybody else as she had blankly stared ahead, tapping her foot. Any minute now... she thought to herself. She closed her eyes, took a breath, and let it out, relaxing as she continued to wait for Dylan’s piece.

Dylan watched as Number 6 exited the stage, a mixture of nervousness and confidence on his face. The former smoothed his hair as the light of the stage filled the dark space of the holding area. A confident grin on his face, Dylan gripped his music score and walked onto the stage, seeing the shiny grand piano that stood in the center. He turned to the front and bowed briefly before noticing Lis sitting at the front. Dylan smiled and made his way to the piano bench, adjusting it before sitting down. He sighed and rested a hand on the black and white keys before beginning his piece. Dylan smiled as his fingers danced across the keys, expressing tranquility and joy in the melodies. However, the emotion that rang out superior to all was love... directed toward one specific person in the audience. Will it reach her? I hope it can reach her. When he was done, he let the last chord ring in the air for a few seconds before standing up and bowing.

Lis was the first of the entire audience to stand up, clapping as fast as she could as her eyes welled up with tears. Everybody around her did the same, some cheering or whistling, others nearly sobbing as they clapped loudly. Lis’ heart swelled with pride and love, and eventually, tears began rolling down the petite girl’s face. That’s my boyfriend, she told herself, not thinking twice.

The applause lasted for a good minute before it softly began to die down. Lis, wiping her eyes, stepped out of her spot and exited the auditorium, waiting outside the area Dylan had gone into at the beginning of the show. Her heart raced, and she folded and unfolded her hands while she waited.

Dylan chuckled internally, watching the scene unfold. Truth be told, he hadn't expected such a powerful reaction, nor had he expected to watch the audience applaud fervently, some with tears streaming down their faces. However, his eyes were only focused on a single person. Dylan smiled at Lis, who was clapping furiously, her eyes welled up with tears. He stepped out of the stage and made his way back to the main area, where he saw Lis waiting for him. Dylan walked toward her and grinned, his hands in his pockets. "So, how was it?"

“Um, amazing, duh,” she giggled, putting her arms around him and wrapping him into a hug. “Seriously, it was beautiful. I’ve never heard anything better.” In no way was what she was saying a lie. She meant every word as she nuzzled her face into Dylan’s chest, cheeks flushing warmly.

Dylan chuckled and hugged Lis back, wrapping his arms around her affectionately. "I'm glad to hear that." A few minutes passed by, and he checked his watch to see that it was now 9:47 A.M. "Well, the awards ceremony's gonna begin any second now; let's head to the auditorium, shall we?" Dylan intertwined his fingers with Lis's and smiled warmly.

Lis nodded, separating herself from Dylan but still holding his hand protectively. She led Dylan back to her spot, and coincidentally, the spot next to her own had opened after a person had decided to go home after a few performances. She sat herself down in her spot from before, a small smile on her face the entire time.

The two sat down in the auditorium, and the competition host came onto the stage, a microphone in hand. Behind him stood a table lined with shining trophies. "Welcome all, to the Blackholme Music Festival Awards Ceremony! The judges absolutely loved all of the performances, and now your results are in! If the performers could make their way to the stage, please!"

Dylan squeezed Lis's hand gently and smiled warmly at her before leaving to head onto the stage. He climbed the stairs onto where the host stood and lined up with the other contestants, who looked extremely nervous. The host called out the names and rankings, and Dylan sighed, grinning with anticipation. The host went down the list of names until he stopped at Dylan, and he said the next few words with an overly dramatic flair. "And 1st Place in the Blackholme Music Festival goes to.... Dylan Sage!" One of the assistants gave Dylan the largest trophy on the table, and he accepted it with a smile and a quiet "thank you." He bowed to the audience and grinned at Lis, who he saw sitting among the audience.

Lis grinned as Dylan’s name was called for winner, and a trophy was awarded to him. Along with the hundreds around her, she clapped excitedly as the events unfolded.

As the clapping died down, the host congratulated the participants, asked for a picture of the top three winners, and then thanked the audience for coming to watch. As people started pile out the doors, Lis simply stood up from her seat, smiling up at Dylan the entire time.

Dylan smiled at the camera lens, and when the shutter clicked, he thanked the host and hurried over to Lis. He pulled her into a brief hug and smiled at her affectionately. "Let's get out of here. Wanna get a bite to eat?" As he gazed into her eyes, Dylan felt a wave of love come over him, and he grasped Lis's hand with his free hand, feeling her warm touch.

Nodding swiftly, Lis accepted his hand, emitting a proud aura. “Yes, please,” she laughed, looking back up at him. “What are you hungry for?” She tilted her head, a smile printed on her face.

Dylan chuckled and ruffled Lis's hair before leading her out of the Music Hall and to his car. "Whatever you want." He opened the door for Lis to get in and entered the driver seat, pulling out of the parking lot and turning onto the street. Dylan smiled as he drove and waited for Lis to decide. Looking at her, she looked... well, beautiful, to say the least.

Lis put her thumb on her lip, softly biting it as she thought. After a few moments, she decided, “How about Chinese? There’s this really neat restaurant that I’ve been wanting to go to.” She proceeded to give direction on the restaurant’s location, all while smiling and watching the road in front of her.

(Last post of the day, good night : 3)

Dylan smiled and nodded. "Will do." He followed Lis's directions, and soon, the two arrived at the restaurant in question. Dylan parked the car and got out to help Lis out, and the two walked hand in hand into the restaurant. The two were seated at the table, and the waiter passed out the menus. Dylan sat across from Lis, and he smiled at her as he waited for her to decide on an entree.

Lis looked down at the menu, eyeing the dishes with curiosity. A particular platter with sushi, a small square cake, and buttered rice seemed the best option to the girl. Folding the menu, Lis examined her surroundings. The were multiple fish tanks scattered neatly around the restaurant, and lovely artwork painted onto the walls.

A waiter came back to the pair. “What can I get you two?” she asked. “I’ll have the sushi, rice, and dessert dish, please. Oh, and a water, thank you,” Lis replied.

Dylan folded his menu and set it on the table before placing his order. "I'll take the sesame chicken with a side of fried rice and broccoli. For drinks... I'll just have an ice water." The waitress smiled and took up both menus before heading back to the kitchen. Dylan leaned back in his seat and looked around. "This place's aesthetics are nice, that's for sure."

“I like the koi,” Lis smiled, watching the orange fish swim from afar. “So, what’s the plan for the rest of the day?” she asked, resting her head on her palms, and her elbows on the table, gazing at Dylan. “Head back to the dorm, chill out? Or did you have something else in mind?”

Dylan shrugged and grinned, returning Lis's gaze. "Up to you. I'm fine with whatever." The waitress returned with plates of food, setting them down on the table in front of the two. "Here you go, please enjoy." Once she had finished setting the food down, she left with a smile. Dylan quietly thanked the waitress and split his chopsticks, smiling. "Let's eat!" He dug in and chewed quietly, savoring the taste of the food. It really was quite delicious.

Picking up her chopsticks as well, Lis pinched the small wrapped fish, and put it in her mouth, looking sideways as she ate. She had a couple before going in for the rice. It tasted sweet, and filled her mouth happily. Lis had continued this cycle until she finished the main dish, then heading for the little cocoa cake in the corner of her plate.

Dylan put a small stalk of broccoli into his mouth and chewed slowly while watching Lis eat happily. Her joyful expression rubbed off on him, and he couldn't help but chuckle at her jovial attitude as she ate. He wiped his mouth with a napkin and drank a few gulps of water before eating another piece of sesame chicken.

After the food was finished, Lis stood up, straightening out her dress. “You’re paying, right? I can if you want me to. If not, I pay for the next date,” she smiled, hands in her jacket pockets. Her cheeks blushed at “date”, even though she said it fully intentionally.

Dylan finished the rest of his food and laughed, nodding. "Deal." He signaled for the check and placed a handful of bills, just enough to cover the prices of both meals. Dylan was relieved to find out that using the term "date" in a conversation with Lis no longer elicited any embarrassment or awkwardness.

“To home?” Lis asked as the pair walked out of the Chinese restaurant, each walking very close to each other. Lis wrapped her hand around Dylan’s, awaiting a response as the traveled the parking lot.

She was the happiest she’d ever been in awhile. The last time she tried to pursue a relationship, she was used and unappreciated. However, with Dylan, it all felt real and perfect.

Dylan shrugged and smiled, feeling the soft touch of Lis's hand. "Sure; let's go home. Plus," He added with a chuckle as the two walked back to his car. "We can continue our piano lessons." Dylan checked his watch before getting into the driver seat and noted that the time was 1:42. He waited for Lis to get in and drove back to the dormitory. In all honesty, Dylan had never expected to find himself in a relationship this quickly. However, to his own surprise, he had gone with the flow, and he was as happy as could be with Lis.

Shortly, the pair arrived back at the dorm. Walking in to their room, Lis threw her purse on her bed, and grabbed a pair of sporty leggings, and a loose white tee. Heading into the bathroom, she changed into the outfit and set her dress in the laundry basket. Then, she stretched out before leaving the bathroom and sitting on her bed.

Dylan smiled at Lis as she exited the bathroom in a new change of clothes before entering with his own. He changed into a tight black v-neck tee and black athletic shorts, throwing his formal attire from the piano competition into his personal laundry bin before heading back out into the "living room". Dylan sighed and flopped onto his bed and rested his head on the pillow, thoroughly exhausted.

Though she wasn’t the one who just performed a piano piece in front of hundreds, Lis was pretty sleepy, and decided the rest her eyes for a bit. She nudged herself closer to her pillows, curling up around her purse before slowly drifting off to sleep. Lis was in total comfort, and her surroundings only helped.

Dylan turned in his bed to the sound of rustling bed sheets and saw Lis curling up in her own. He smiled and got up, heading to her bed. She really is beautiful. He took her blanket and tucked Lis in, covering her from the neck down with the warm blanket. Dylan whispered, "Sleep well." and planted a small kiss on her forehead. He then returned to his own bed and pulled up his blanket around him, resting his head on his pillow, though his eyes were still open.

Fast forward four years. The month is May.

This concludes our graduation ceremony. We applaud and thank all of you for putting in all of your hard work for the past four years, and we furthermore wish you the best in life.

I made it, Lis thought, tears welling up in her eyes as her classmates around her cheered and hugged each other in their gowns and hats and such. A student’s voice rang out. “On the count of three! One.. two..” On three, everybody, including Lis, took off their caps and threw them into the air, excitedly yelling as they did so.

Lis turned around, grinning. She had been standing next to Dylan the entire time, her boyfriend and roommate of four years. “Well, we made it,” she laughed, wiping her eyes.
