Open Professional Battling League

Joe practically breathed a sigh of relief when the tension eased off, and her smile because friendly and honest.

"I can understand that," she gave a soft laugh, knowing what this young woman meant by 'worked up'. Arcues, she had just ran here from the docks. "Joe- er... Joe Summers," she shifted nervously, not used to introducing herself, and not sure if she should use her full name or not. She gripped Everly's hand firmly, happy things took a turn for the better. Her blue eyes tracked Shiori as he spoke, and she managed a weak smile as she shoved her hands into her pockets. At least he seemed nice enough, something to tell Lyra when she got back home... If she ever did... her mind wondered as they talked, a light frown appearing on her features. Wolf had her running around all over the place. Sinnoh, Unova, now Alola... she was growing sick of boats and tired of traveling... but... in a way... she had to admit it was good to get out once in awhile... even if Alola was to hot for her liking.

Otis let out a small laugh at Everly’s joke, then Unfezant flew up and landed on Otis’s shoulder. Ampharos and Scolipede were now beside Otis, exchanging curious glances at each other. Their trainer seems to be making new friends. Otis liked everyone here, they are all so nice, and she enjoyed this conversation. Otis glanced one more time at the tv, wondering who she will battle. She pushed that question to the back of her mind, and faced everyone again.

"Yeah, you could say that." Shiroi said quietly in response to Everly's jab, putting his sunglasses back on and smiling mysteriously. Him and Raza shared a look once again. Well, it was a little disappointing that the other girls hadn't recognized him, but Shiori didn't let that bother him. That was that. He turned his attention back to Everly.
"Tell you what. I'll come with you guys outside, and once we're out there I'll show you guys some of my Pokemon. I'll even battle a little, if you want. How's that sound?" Shiori asked Everly.

Everly quickly dismissed the previous conversation, already getting fired up again about the upcoming training session. “That sounds more like my cup of tea! Lets do it!” As she began leading the way outside, she quickly stopped and whirled around, almost running into Abra, who was, as usual, close behind her. “Hey Joe..you wanna come train with us,” Everly asked, mostly to try to make up for the harsh introduction of hers. “We all want to train as much as we can before our battles start!”

She listened quietly to their conversation, smiling slightly and realizing that the other two girls had no idea who this guy was. With a small wave and a muttering of excuses she turned to head farther into the room, figuring they were going to exclude her from the conversation now. That was, until her name was called.

She turned back, blinking in surprise at the offer. "Uh..." she glanced around the room, at the tv monitors and the people focused on them. "Yeah, sure, thanks," she smiled, heading back towards them, happy to be included. And happy to have the chance to see what kind of strategies and Pokemon these three had.

Everly smiled warmly at her. She wasnt expecting to make so many friends the moment she walked in. It was almost overwhelming! In a good way, of course. “Awesome! Ill bet youre real tough, like me!” Everly boasted, holding her head high and finally making her way through the doors into the hot Alola sun. She reached in her bag and pulled out her yellow hippie sunglasses, one of her favorite items. She thought they fit the frame of her face nicely, and she liked to show them off. Putting them on, she followed Abra to the small battle area that he had found a while ago. It wasnt the most ideal place to battle, but it would do! She made sure she had potions for her pokemon, and a little extra for the others in case they didnt have any. Turning to the others, she began, “Alright guys, who wants to go up against who first?”

Zed looked around and saw that nobody was really in the room with him. He then got shot a text from Damien saying that his opponent would be Gold from Johto. He saw the time of the battle and looked at the time on his phone. He then saw he had about half a hour so he decided to go to his pc in his room and do some research. He found out his team and went to promptly switch out his team.

Breloom, blastoise, pidgeot, swallot, snorlax, armaldo

Shiori grabbed his luggage bag and followed Everly out. Reaching the open area Everly's Abra had found for battling, he glanced around. Raza followed as well, curious and excited to watch a battle. Hey, a small battle would be fun. Why not. The actor stepped forward.
"I'll take you on. Just a one-on-one, though. I don't want to show you the full capacity of my Pokemon's powers yet." Shiori said. Raza stepped forwards as well, looking at Shiori eagerly and excitedly when he said this. The actor glanced back at the punk girl and every so slightly shook his head no, still smiling. Raza sighed and crossed her arms, looking a bit pouty. Disappointed, the punk girl made her way back towards the other girls and leaned against the wall with a huff. Shiori turned his attention back to Everly, pulling a Great Ball from his luggage bag. He knew just the Pokemon he wanted to use.

"Come on out, Looper!" Shiori said, pressing the button on the Great Ball. A red light flashed from the Pokeball, and the form of the Water Fish Pokemon Quagsire appeared. The Quagsire stood there for a moment, as if frozen. It didn't look around curiously. It didn't inspect the other trainers. It didn't even look back at Shiori. The Quagsire simply stared ahead, a blank expression on it's face. It almost seemed like it was in it's own little world. Looper was doing something, however. It appeared to be chewing on something. Then, ever so slowly, the Quagsire slumped forward until it was laying face-down on the ground. Shiori looked sheepishly down at his Pokemon. It seems like Looper was spacing out particularly much today...

Everly smiled, happy to be the first one to get to train. She walked lazily, but with an air of confidence, over to one side of the clearing, directly across from Shiori. She watched him carefully, waiting to see what kind of pokemon he would pull out. As she was letting her mind wonder about which pokemon she would send out, she couldnt help but notice the small, quiet exchange of Shiori and Raza. It was something she really admired about the two. They had such a good connection with each other that they didnt need words to communicate. As much as she didnt want to admit it, she was a bit envious of that. She had never had such a close friend, unless she counted Abra. But that was different, wasnt it? She snapped back to reality when Shiori pulled out a Great Ball, and waited tensely for whatever pokemon he chose to come popping out, raring with fire. But when the bright light had formed into a Quagsire, Everly was a bit taken aback. Even more so when the Quagsire didnt seem effected by anything when it came out of its Great Ball. As it slumped to the ground, she couldnt help but ask. "Uhhh...Hey Shiori! Your pokemon doesnt look too hot..Is it alright?"

Joe chuckled softly bring her hand up to cover her mouth. Everly seemed friendly enough, and reminded Joe about Lyra in a way.

She quietly followed behind, glancing curiously at the other two. She had no idea the actor was a trainer as well, but she felt a sense of admiration at his resolve, his desire to tackle two taxing jobs at once.

She glanced around at the field, taking note of the environment and the surroundings, only to cross her arms and watch with interest as Everly and Shiori faced off. This was a great chance to see Lyra's favorite actor in battle, to take note of Everly's fighting style. A familier flicker of fire raced through her as the first pokemon was called. A Quagsire, good, a great defense and pretty solid attack if she remembered clearly. With their ground water-.... she blinked back confusion as she watched the Quagsire, Looper, tilt forward and lay face first on the ground.

Her blue eyes flicked to Shiori, looking to see some sign that he had a master plan up his sleeve, but the look on his face left her more confused than ever.

"Uh, yeah..." Shiori said sheepishly. He scratched his head, smiling. "Looper, eh... When he's not in battle, he really spaces out. This is normal for him, I swear. Looper's just... a special guy."
The Quagsire continued munching on whatever it had in it's mouth. It didn't even bother to look up at Everly. The air around Shiori suddenly seemed to change. The actor's sheepish expression left, replaced with one of excitement and even a bit of silliness. Shiori posed and pointed at Everly.
"Anyway, this is supposed to be a Pokemon Battle, right?! So send out your Pokemon!" Shiori said excitedly. He almost seemed like kid. Shiori thought back to the Pokemon he had seen in the trainer lounge. What had he seen? A Zoroark, a Rampardos... an Ampharos? Wasn't there an Abra as well, and an Empoleon? And a Luxio? He hadn't seen which Pokemon belonged to which trainer, so it was entirely possible that some or all of those Pokemon belonged to just Otis, or even Joe. He wasn't quite sure. But whatever Pokemon that Everly was going to send out, Shiori was ready!

Raza made her way over to where Joe was standing, and leaned against the wall. The punk girl still looked a little disappointed and pouty, and blew some hair out of her face. When she saw Shiori had sent out his Quagsire, Raza looked even more offended. The punk girl looked away, growling softly. But when Shiori suddenly posed, she looked back at battle once again. She just couldn't stop her interest.

Everly smirked. She liked this guy's attitude. "Alright then! I know exactly who i want to battle with me!" She dug through her purse until she found the poke ball she was looking for. She picked it up, its shape fitting nicely in the palm of her hand. She remembered her first pokemon battle back in Sinnoh. How nervous she had been. But her confidence in her pokemon now outweighed any doubts she was having. She trusted them to do their best. Clicking open the poke ball, the familiar red beam shot out and formed itself into the tiny shape of Roselia. Roselia blinked rapidly in the sudden sunlight, but smiled as she felt the heat of the sun. It relaxed her. She glanced at the Quagsire in front of her, donning a look of concern. She gracefully walked up to Looper, patting him softly in an attempt to make him feel better. Abra stayed by Otis, Raza, and Joe, deciding it was best to take a short nap.

Joe smiled with Shiori changed his stance, seeming to grow excited, and admired his confidence in his relaxed friend. She glanced over when she was joined and smiled, politely at the newcomer. She mumbled a soft greeting and glanced back at the battle as Everly called on her own Pokemon.

The Johto trainer inclined her head slightly, eyeing the unfamiliar Pokemon. Judging by the flowers on its hands it was a grass or bug type, either way a grass type move would be dangerous for the Quagsire.

Adrenaline sparked in her and despite her self, she smiled. Fire sparked in her veins and she leaned forward, watching closely. It had only been a year ago when she had seen battles as a means to an end... She had Wolf to thank for changing her mind.

Shiori watched as Everly sent out her Pokemon. It was a Roselia. Any other trainer might have felt tinges of hopelessness at the sight of the Pokemon. After all, it was a Grass/Poison type. Looper was a Water/Ground type, so extremely weak to Grass-Type Moves. That, and Roselia was a very skilled Pokemon when it came to Special Attack. Looper's Special Defense, on the other hand, left much to be desired. Shiori didn't care, however. Now, he had an opponent! It didn't matter to the actor what the opponent was, he was going to give it his all! So what if he started behind the 8-ball, he was still going to go all out.
"All right-" Shiori started, but was surprised to find that the Roselia had already made it's way to Looper. It appeared to be trying to comfort him. The actor's eyes widened. He... hadn't expected that. That Roselia had made a critical mistake.

Upon feeling the soft pat from the Roselia, Looper slowly looked up at the Grass/Poison Pokemon. It stayed in it's position, and it's blank smile didn't fade. A malicious glint seemed to appear in the Quagsire's eyes, and it's grin seemed to grow. Before Shiori could give Looper a command, the Quagsire jumped up with surprising speed. Taking advantage of close proximity of the Roselia (it was close enough to pet Looper, after all), the Quagsire lashed out with a powerful Ice Punch attack.
"Looper!" Shiori exclaimed.

Roselia didnt have time to react. She flew back from the force of the hit, landing with a hard thud in the dirt. Everly stood, shocked. What had just happened? She wasnt even aware pokemon could act on their own in battle. "Roselia," Everly called, hoping her voice could carry to the injured pokemon. She knew ice moves were a real danger to grass types, and cursed at herself for not having thought about that. "Roselia, please tell me youre ok! You cant just be taken out with one hit, i know youre more resilient than that!" Everly glanced over to Shiori, hoping he had an explanation for the unusual behavior. She did, however strange to her it might seem, admire the pokemon for its sneaky tactic. She should have taken into account Roselia's motherly attitude to injured, hurt, or sad pokemon though. Roselia, surprisingly, managed to open her eyes, but just barely. She had heard Everly's call, and she knew Everly would be dissapointed, not at her, but at herself if she didnt try her hardest. Heart still pounding from the surprise attack, she pushed herself back onto her tiny feet. Unfortunately, she was extremely wobbly. One more hit of any sort would do her in. Everly wasnt so sure it was a good idea to keep battling with her.

Shiori was shocked once again as the grass Pokemon was knocked back, make that launched back, by Looper's Ice Punch. Right after the attack landed, Looper was already moving in on the Roselia's downed position. It was clear that, getting up or no, Looper was going to attack again with an Ice Punch attack. On the sidelines, Raza tensed up. She looked like she was about to jump in the fight herself, to stop the Quagsire. Seeing the shock and surprise on Everly's face, Shiori called out to Looper.
"Looper, stop!" Shiori yelled. The Quagsire froze once again, his fist at the ready for another Ice Punch attack. This time, instead of going on it's face, the Quagsire merely sat on it's butt. It took it's attention off the Roserade, gazing off into the distance with that same blank smile. Looper continued chewing, and the malicious gleam faded from it's eyes.

Shiori's excited aura faded, and he went back to being more sheepish. The actor scratched his head again.
"I'm, eh, sorry about that. Looper, well... he's a bit of a sneaky one. If a Pokemon gets close to him, heck, any Pokemon, he'll try to attack it with an Ice Punch attack. Doesn't matter if he's not in battle." Shiori said. "And when he's not doing that, he kinda just... stares into space. The only way I know he's still alive is that he's still chewing on those Leftovers I gave him. So you see why I didn't really want him outside his Pokeball in the Trainer Lounge?"

Joe drew in a surprised breath with Shiori's pokemon suddenly lunged up. Something she had seen many times before. Her own battle styles revolved around her trusting her teammates to make clever decisions. That however?

She frowned softly softly and rocked back on her heels, the excitement of battle gone. Her old ways returning as she shifted her gaze between the four. That had been low, and foolish, and so many other things that sent Joe into a spiraling mess of anxieties and apprehensions.

She listened to Shiori as he explained Looper, and thought over carefully how she would handle a pokemon like that. However ill fated, she didn't have a grass type with her right now, and didn't want to make him fight anyway. If she were to come up against the Qugsire and Shiori, she would have to do so with her smaller quicker friends.

Everly surprised herself with a grin. This was going to be more fun than she thought.. Maybe there were new things to learn from others after all. Everly glanced at Joe to see how she took the move. Was Everly the only one who didnt know about this strategy? But the concerned and thoughtful look on Joe's face told her otherwise. Even Raza seemed surprised. Maybe it was just a Looper thing. Without indication that Everly intended the battle to go on, she sized up Roselia's condition. If this move didnt work the way she wanted it to, Roselia was down for the count. This Quagsire was pretty dangerous in and out of battle according to Shiori, and Everly intended to talk to him about it afterwards. "Roselia, sleep powder!" Roselia had been soaking up as much sun as she could get as they were talking, and she seemed more relaxed than before. Jumping into the air (Not as far as she couldve gone due to her condition), she released a pollen like substance that fell delicately below her.

It seemed that the Roselia was okay enough to continue battling. Instead of responding to his question, Everly instead commanded her Roselia to attack. It looked like calling out for Looper to stop might have been a mistake. The Quagsire didn't really react as Sleep Powder fell all around him. It sat there for a moment, as some of the pollen fell on it's head. Then Looper fell backwards, sprawling on it's back. It's eyes were closed, and the Quagsire was asleep. Shiori was a little disappointed. The awkward stop in the battle had really taken away his fighting spirit, and even more now since Looper had fallen asleep. He didn't have any Awakenings or Full Heals or Berries in his bag to wake up the Quagsire.
"Aw, man!" Shiori said. Raza relaxed, since Looper had listened to Shiori's command to stop.

Everly watched, amazed, as she watched the scene unfold. Honestly she was not expecting the move to work at all! Roselia landed very awkwardly back on her feet, almost falling over. The poor thing was still feeling the effects of the ice move. “Roselia, are you still ok to go on?” Everly thought it was best to ask. She didnt want her pokemon overdoing itself. Roselia nodded faintly, but her body language said otherwise. It was about to faint. As Everly had predicted, Roselia fell, almost daintily, foward, hitting the ground once more. This time she was down for good. Everly crossed over to Roselia, opening a potion and pouring it into her mouth, making sure she could swallow it properly. After a few seconds ticked by, Roselia got up, looking better. “Hey, dont worry about it Roselia, theres nothin you coulda done ya know? You tried your best, and honestly after a surprise ice attack, you did better than i coulda hoped!” She finally turned toward Shiori, huffing a little as she realized the battle was actually over. She wished it couldve gone on longer, but that was her own fault. She had a habit of jumping into battles without a fullproof plan. And she shouldve seen the signs that Roselia was giving off before she continued the battle. Thats what she was most upset about. “Yea i get it now,” she said in response to his earlier question. She couldnt hide the dissapointment from her voice. “So how come you keep a pokemon like that with you anyway? I mean, he seems really cool, but really dangerous to others around him ya know? Also, do you need a potion?”She glanced at Looper. “Better question, do you need an awakening?”

Shiori blinked. That was... quick. The Roselia had fainted, and Shiori let out a small, relieved breath. He had been anticipating a loss, and returned Looper back to his Great Ball.
"Well... It's kinda of a funny story. I caught him as a Wooper. Even then, he was causing trouble with his Ice Punch attack. It was really strange, since, well... a Wooper has no arms. Yet it was Ice Punching everyone near him. I caught him with the intention of releasing him in the wild, so he wouldn't hurt other people. But when I tried to release him, he just kept following me. Battling seems to make him less likely to attack people, and not only that he seems to like it... I think...."
Shiori looked down at Looper, who was sleeping peacefully. He shook his head in response to Everly's last question.
"No. I'll just let him sleep it off." Shiori said. Glancing back at Raza, the punk girl gave Shiori a thumbs up.

Everly nodded. “Fair enough.” She stood up, also returning Roselia back to her pokeball. Then Everly’s gaze turned sharp as she looked back at Shiori. “Im a good trainer. I am. Obviously i gotta be, since im here right? I know how to battle, Looper just caught me off gaurd. I dont want you goin around thinkin i cant make it in this place or nothin. I belong just as much as you guys.” Everly held Roselia’s pokeball close to her before putting it back inside her yellow purse. Abra had sensed Everly was uncomfortable, and promptly woke up, floating back to her side from where he had been napping. She glanced down at her partner, not wanting to look anyone in the eyes. “If you and Joe wanna battle now, i would like to see if thats ok?” Everly made sure her tone was soft. She also didnt want anyone thinking she was a sore loser. In fact, she was happy for Looper and Shiori. He was obviously a very talented trainer. She walked back to where Joe and Raza had been watching, still looking away from them. “That is, if you guys are still up for training?”

Otis was sitting next to Raza and Joe, when Everly walked up to them and asked a question. “I’m still up for training!” Otis responded, and all her pokemon gave a quick nod. They all seemed desperate to battle. Scolipede and Ampharos were sitting next to each other, they were talking about the battle they had just watched. Unfezant and Zoroark joined in on the conversation, all of them were wondering who would battle next.

Everly gave a small smile to Otis, thankful that she chimed in to fill the awkward silence. “Go for it! If Shiori is still up for another battle, you could battle him? Or if you wanna battle me thats cool too..” She trailed off. She cleared her throat, not wanting to show how badly her ego had gotten bruised. She was, in fact, a sore loser. But she held her head high and tried to shrug it off. It was only one loss right? And Roselia had still gotten a move in, even after such an intense move.

“Hmm. . . Can I battle you? It’s fine if you don’t want to!” Otis said the last few words quickly. She didn’t want to force Everly into battling her, especially since she had just lost a battle. “Let me just put my pokemon back in their pokeballs.” She took out all six pokeballs and said, “Everyone, return!” All of her pokemon disappeared into their own pokeballs. Now, if Everly or anyone else wanted to battle her, she can use her battle strategy.

Everly smiled a bit more. It made her feel better that Otis had chosen her, even after she had lost. She must still mean something to her new friends then.. she glanced at Shiori, then Raza, then Joe. At least, she hoped she did. Then she nodded to Otis, indicating she would like to battle. "I wont go easy though! And this time ill be more careful! My pokemon should all be healed, so im ready when you are!" Everly walked back to her previous position on the makeshift battlefield, this time with Abra at her side. She thought back to the pokemon she remembered seeing Otis with. She had a Zoroark with her, so in case she sent him out, it probably wasnt wise to choose Abra to battle with her. She also had an Unfezant, Scolipede, and an Ampharos...so probably not best to send out her Emploeon either...Everly couldnt remember any other pokemon Otis had had with her, so she had decided. She reached into her bag and pulled out another pokeball. Clicking it so the red beam shot out, her Rampardos stood before them, looking around, interested in their surroundings. She knew he had been wanting to train for a while, and he had gotten a bit antsy because of it. Now he looked so happy to be outside, standing on the battlefield. Everly had to remind herself that she needed to watch her pokemon more carefully this time, in case things went south for her.

Otis nodded and walked to her place on the battle field. She saw Everly send out her Rampardos. “So your Rampardos, then I will send out . . .” Otis quickly dug her hands in her pink bag, and pulled out a pokeball. “Go, Serperior!” She threw the pokeball in the air, and it burst open. The pokeball revealed Serperior, and she landed on the ground gracefully. “Serp!” Serperior said as she looked at her opponent.

Everly gazed curiously at the long, snake like pokemon. It looked like a grass type, so Rampardos would be at an incredible disadvantage.. she made a mental note of Serperior’s long form, and made sure to keep Rampardos out of reach. Then she nodded. “Alright! Lets do this!” She was a bit worried about Rampardos’ speed, but she would have to make the most of it. Before anything else could happen, she gave Rampardos his first command. “Alright buddy, use fire blast!” Rampardos rares his head, flames leaping from his mouth. He shot a huge burst of flames towards Serperior, making sure he didnt get closer to the rival pokemon than he needed to.

Previously OtisRolePlays
Oh no . . . “Serperior, dodge it!” Serperior nodded and moved out of the way, but some of the flames caught her tail, and she was Burned. Serperior let out a yelp, and tried to ingnore the pain, she didn’t want to lose this battle. “Come on Seprerior, you can do this! Now, use Leech Seed!” Otis was starting to get worried, if Serperior was Burned, then this could ruin their chances of winning. Serperior shot out a few seeds at Rampardos, hoping that they would land on him.

Everly knew there wasnt much room for a pokemon as big as Rampardos to move around very quickly, which could be her downfall. But she had managed to burn the Serperior, and that would be a big help. Her heart was racing now. She couldnt lose another battle. She had to show them what she could do. The leech seed did hit, and vines started to grow around Rampardos, sapping his strength. Rampardos growled quietly. He could feel his strength leaving him, and he could feel himself getting tired. “Rampardos, focus!! Fight through it, youre still ok!” Everly had to think quickly. Rampardos could still move. She was going to have to take a chance with this move. “Rampardos, use super power!” Rampardos’ gaze became hardened, and his body began to glow a bright blue. Then he charged at Serperior, his head down, preparing to headbutt the slender pokemon. The move was a fighting type, so it wasnt necessarily effective against grass, but it wasnt weak either.

Serperior started to relax when the Leech Seeds landed on Rampardos, and started to sap his energy. Serperior felt her strength go up, and she prepared for another attack. Otis was surprised a bit when Everly’s Rampardos started to glow, and he charged at Serperior. “Serperior, try to dodge, and use Solar Beam!” Otis hoped that Serperior would dodge. Serperior nodded, and she started to absorb sunlight, and then she realized, that she had forgotten about Rampardos. She winced in pain as Rampardos rammed into her, but she was fully charged up, and used Solar Beam on him.

"Rampardos, block it with another fire blast!" Everly was beginning to panic, but she had to stay calm, especially in the midst of battle. Rampardos jumped back with alarming speed, putting enough distance between the two pokemon where he could block it properly. Fire bursting from his mouth, he shot enormous flames towards Serperior's oncoming attack. When the flames connected with the solar energy, it exploded with a very loud boom!, causing Everly to cover her ears. Because Serperior had had a head start with the solar beam, the blast was closer to Rampardos, causing him to violently reel back. The dust was heavy in the air, and it was hard to see anything properly. Rampardos huffed as more energy was sapped from his body, but he held strong. Everly could barely see Rampardos at all, let alone Otis and Serperior. "Stay on your guard Rampardos!" She called desperately.

Serperior was taken by surprise when Rampardos blocked her attack with a Fire Blast, and she was knocked back by the huge explosion. She picked herself up, and heavy dust surrounded the battle field. “Come on Serperior, we can use this dust to our advantage!” Otis called out quietly, so Everly and her Rampardos couldn’t hear what she was saying. Serperior nodded, and used Leaf Storm on Rampardos. The dust had completely covered Serperior, disguising her for a moment.

Everly stayed quiet, trying to make out any sign of Serperior. She couldnt see or hear anything. Rampardos was on guard, tensely waiting to see what would come next. All of a sudden, the dust seemed to whirl in a tight funnel right in front of Rampardos. Knowing it was a leaf tornado, Rampardos tried to quickly dodge out of the way, but his heavy build made it hard to do so. He didnt have time to block it with counter attack, and he got knocked back with the force of the attack. Rampardos fell to the ground, but the dust seemed to be clearing up. Everly gasped when she saw what happened to Rampardos. The vines seemed to grow rapidly around him, restricting his movements even more. "Rampardos, are you alright?!" She called worriedly. Time seemed to stand still, and for a moment Everly was sure that was it. But when she saw Rampardos open his eyes weakly, she convinced herself there was still hope. Then she had an idea. Everly searched through her bag until she found one of her potions. They never made a rule that said they couldnt use items, right? She unscrewed the lid to the potion, running up quickly to her hurt pokemon. She poured it in his mouth just as she had done to Roselia, but this time her pokemon wasnt completely down for the count yet. Returning to her spot, she saw that Rampardos seemed to gain back a lot of his strength. He quickly stood back up, a little more fire back in his eyes. That would be her only potion she used though, so if she let another move hit Rampardos directly on, she would lose. She sure hoped her idea worked.. she wasnt sure how she would play it out yet though. She knew Rampardos most likely wouldnt be able to move very well, or even at all, so she had to hope for the best. She waited tensely for Otis to make her move.

Serperior looked around as the dust finally cleared, and Rampardos was on the ground. Then Everly healed him with a potion, Serperior knew that this would make things a bit harder, and she prepared herself for another attack. “Serperior, use Return!” Otis started to become tense, and she hoped that Serperior was fast enough to surprise attack Rampardos. Serperior had faith in her trainer, she slithered up to Rampardos with frightening speed, and used Return on him.

Everly wasnt expecting her to go for that move, and she didnt have time to tell him to dodge it. Return hit Rampardos head on, and he reeled back once more, shocked. He hadnt even seen Serperior come up to him. It being a normal type move, it didnt hurt him as badly, but because Serperior and Otis had a strong connection, it took down more health than would be normal on a rock type. He recovered more quickly than the other hits Serperior had layed on him though. So her idea hadnt worked at all. That was fine with her. She went with the next best thing. "Rampardos, use fire blast on yourself! Cover yourself in flames!" Rampardos didnt even stop to question her. Once more he used the fire move, but instead of throwing it at a target, he let the flames engulf him. It was a bit of a scary thing to watch, but the flames barely effected him. The fire seemed to burn the growing vines off of him, just as she had wanted it to do. She wasnt sure if more would grow back, but for now it allowed more room for Rampardos to move. The flames died down. Rampardos had minor burns on his body that didnt effect him at all, and he breathed heavily. Otis was more powerful than Everly had given her credit for, and she could tell the rock pokemon was getting warn out. Serperior certainly gave him a run for his money.

Serperior was a bit shocked when Rampardos used Fire Blast on himself. Otis was surprised as well, but then she realized that the Fire Blast had burned off the Leech Seed vines. Serperior than felt a bit of pain in her tail, and she realized that she was so focused on the battle, that she forgot that she was Burned! “Quickly, use Leaf Storm!” Otis called out, and Serperior nodded, but she gritted her teeth as the Burn hurt even more. She tried to put her focus on the battle, and Serperior whirled up a Leaf Storm.

Another leaf storm... Everly couldnt keep blocking these attacks.. she had to get another hit on the Serperior, unless she was patient enough to wait for the burn to take the snake pokemon out.. but she wasnt. “Rampardos, cover yourself in flames again and charge Serperior!” Again, Rampardos covered himself in flames. He bent foward, his hard head aimed directly for the grass pokemon. In order to have a chance of hitting the snake pokemon, he had to run through the tornado. And he did. The flames from his body burnt the leaves around him. Some of the leaves left scratches on him before they burned, but he kept charging. He had a clear shot to Serperior.

Serperior’s eyes widened as Rampardos covered himself in flames and charged through the storm. He was barely hurt when he rammed Serperior in the chest. It was super effective. Serperior gasped, the force of the hit had knocked the air out of her. “Serperior!” Otis cried as Serperior landed on the ground. Serperior tried to get up, but the burn hurt her again, and she fell to the ground. Serperior Fainted!
