After a long haitus of being busy in real life, I have returned! I'd like to start by apologizing to those who put long amounts of time into the rp. Some of you have been eagerly awaiting for me to say something about it. Some of you haven't been seen since I stopped posting. Everyone who originally signed up for the last one is allowed to join, if they are on, or if they want to. Some of you did eventually drop out.

This is from Twisted Beige, my first and favorite Pokemon RP on this site:
This: https://pokecharms.com/works/page-10.48385/

Original discussion information: https://pokecharms.com/threads/pokemon-twisted-beige-kanto-journey-with-a-twist-discussion.17666/
This will follow the adventures of a group of trainers around the Kanto region. However, the story is twisted. It takes place around 5-10 years from the original Kanto games and there has been an alternate timeline on the way, with a lot of developments to the original towns. Part of the story is based on the rom hack Pokemon Outlaw and/or takes inspiration from Outlaw and Cawps.

Essentially, the region's champion is Red, who was known as the Outlaw, defeated the evil team Rocket, took on the league and became the current champion, at least, that is what you have been told by your parents and the media. Red stayed on as champion, not choosing to do what he did in the Johto games, (where he hid on Mt Silver). However, all of this is a lie. Team Rocket were never evil in the first place. They did do things such as stealing from other people, but their ultimate goal was actually good. When Red took on Giovanni, he banished him and the media portrayed Red as the hero. In reality, Red killed most of the Team Rocket members even when Giovanni told him of his goal to save the region from said trainers like the Outlaw, who actually wanted to do more harm than good. Once Red became the champion, he was basically the President of the region, being able to control the region, with help from the elite four. The elite four had less of a role in ruling the region from that point and Red filled the spots of gym leaders and the elite four with his supporters, using the media to potray, in some cases, brutal executions, as just a gym leader going missing. Red also had most remnants of Team Rocket in Kanto and Johto crushed, in Johto's case, he used a mercenary-Gold, to assassinate the admins. A small rebelion massed to defeat Red-the Resistance. However, Red was able to crush them easily using his reformed police force. He used propaganda to display them as a new evil team coming into the region. Statues in Pallet Town and in some of the cities were built to glorify Red as their own god.

Every year, Red makes the exception of allowing a small group of trainers to go and start a journey, in his image. In this rp, you will control one of these new trainers, as they start to unveil the truth of Red's regime. They will need to get a starter from Professor Ash in Pallet Town-Professor Oak mysteriously died suddenly. The state said that he died of a heart attack, but in reality, Oak was murdered by Red when he spoke out against the champion.

To join, you must post a form:

Starter (Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Charmander):

Viridian City
In an expanding city where a large shrine to Red has been placed, a normal type gym is located. The gym leader's name is Odessa. After Giovanni was toppled by Red, he left the gym and Blue became the gym leader. However, Blue went missing shortly after it was reported in the newspapers that he was a resistance leader. When the resistance was crushed, Red secretly met Blue. According to some 'crazy' conspiracy theorists, Blue was murdered by Red. A Normal type gym was created to stop drama from escillating. This is the first gym, but it can actually be the last one if you skip it.

Odessa's pokemon: If 1st gym: Rattata, Chansey, Spearow (also a Meowth, Lickitung and a Jigglypuff on hand in place of the Spearow)
If 8th gym: Raticate, Chansey, Meowth, Ditto (She also has a Persian and a Kanghaskhan on hand if needed instead of her Chansey)

Pewter City
In a much larger city than before, the rock type gym led by Brock stood. Brock was a supporter of Red, up until he discovered that Red was murdering innocent civilians, then Brock joined the resistance. It's theorised that Brock was killed after the resistance was crushed. His younger brother, Forrest, ran the gym from then on. After a month of being the gym leader, he too went missing. Red wanted to 'cleanse' Brock's family from the links to the 'evil' teams, meaning all of his siblings, except Billy and Tilly, were killed in the end. Billy became the gym leader that still trains Rock types (well, Billy says it is the ground type, but all the pokemon are rock/ground, so it doesn't matter) but he is constantly on the lookout for Red after he became suspicious when Brock and the others were taken away. This gym is currently being watched by Red's forces.

Billy's Pokemon: Geodude, Omanyte, Kabuto, Onix
Cerulean City
Waterways have been expanded upon. Misty, who was originally a Red supporter, became suspicious of his activities. However, due to her position as a supporter, she did not defect. She hopes to use her position as a way of drawing Red's true self out. However, Red became suspicious of her motives and put the gym under watch. Misty therefore took safety precautions and put a younger a more glamerous girl and best friend to Misty-called Brooklyn, as the gym leader. This decision was further fueled when Misty's sisters became under threat: Daisy was attacked multiple times and Lily vanished.

Brooklyn's pokemon: Goldeen, Poliwag, Horsea, Starmie
Vermillion City
Originally doubting Red's ability as a pokemon trainer, Lt.Surge soon learned how powerful Red could be. When he heard about Red's victory of being champion, he warmed to him. When he saw Red enforcing order in Vermillion, he stuck as one of Red's most loyal servants. Lt.Surge commands part of Red's discipline army. There is also a propaganda tower hidden in the lighthouse of this town, transmitting it through radio means.

Surge's pokemon: Voltorb, Magnemite, Electabuzz
Lavender Town
For 4 years after Red was crowned champion, a radio tower was put in the place of the existing pokemon tower. However, Red deemed it too obvious for it to be a broadcasting tower. He had the tower transformed back into the tower for a graveyard, as it previously was. Despite this, Red still had a radio Propaganda signal being transmitted from a secret room in the tower. A gym has also been set up towards the top of the tower too. It trains ghost type pokemon under the leader of Cade. It also trains pokemon that can learn ghost type moves.

Cade's pokemon: Gastly, Haunter, Gengar + others which can learn ghost moves
Celadon City
The city has been made bigger and a sewer system was deployed to control waste. It is here in the sewers where a small remnant faction of Team Rocket remain. Erika was accepting of Red's existance as champion but one day got into an argument with Red's enforcers for not following a new law he made. Harsh penalties meant Erika went into hiding, mainly in the sewers, for a brief amount of time. She then came back up again to the mainland and tried to go back to her gym. She found that a new gym had been set up-a flying type gym under the leader of Gale. Erika decieded to set up a second gym in Celadon with her original gym trainers following her.

Erika's pokemon: Tangela, Weepinbell, Bellosom, Vileplume (Exeggcute and Victreebell are in reserves too)

Gale's Pokemon: Fearow, Pidgeot, Aerodactyl, Farfetch'd (others as well can swap to)
Fushsia City
Red began to store rare and powerful pokemon in a seperate area in the Safari zone, which started to have restricted access to the public after Red had it closed down. One can still enter the Safari Zone though, if one sneaks in. Janine became the gym leader. She followed her father's advice and stuck with her support for Red but she is ready to strike against Red if Red should make a false move. A building with a challenge inside of it with the former warden's son is also here.

Janine's pokemon: Koffing, Venomoth, Arbok, Tentacool, Nidorina (She also has a Vileplume)
Saffron City
The city is now huge in comparison to the other cities. Sabrina remained the gym leader on the side of Red, but there is rivalry with another gym that is set up here: a fighting type gym which is basically a revamped version of the fighting dojo. The sensei inside started to develop a secret intense hate for Red and made the dojo into a gym again to challenge Sabrina. Sabrina often gets caught up in the conflict in the city and so relies on another to take care of the gym. Alfonso is the name of the gym leader and he is the son of the sensei, Koichi

Sabrina's Pokemon: Kadabra, Alakazam, Drowzee, Slowpoke (also has a Jynx, Hypno and a Slowbro)

Alfonso's Pokemon: Poliwrath, Primeape, Hitmonlee,Hitmonchan, Machoke
Cinnabar Island
After witnessing an erruption, Blaine is nowhere to be seen. The inhabitants fled to the Seafoam islands, before going back to Cinnabar. Blaine's daughter now runs the gym. She is unaware that Red killed Blaine and that the erruption was an excuse for his death. An ice type gym was set up in the old one's place in the seafoam islands. Hailey is her name.

Hailey's Pokemon: Lapras, Dewgong, Cloyster, Jynx
The Elite Four
Lorelei's Fate
Lorelei was killed by Red at some point when she objected to his rule as champion, off the coast of Kanto at her hometown in the Sevii Islands
Bruno's Fate
Originally supportive of Red's strength, Red kept him. However, when Bruno found out about the secret killings and what happened to Lorelei, he went into hiding and left the elite four. He is currently situated in the Fighting type gym in Saffron City.
Agatha's Fate
Agatha was one of the most supportive members of the league for Red's ruthlessness. It appeared that she was just playing a game of lies with him, when she tried to take him on herself. She came out of it unscathed, but she died the next day. The state said that it was because of 'old age.'
Lance's Fate
Lance never became champion and Red made sure to win when Lance tried to challenge him for the title. Red valued Lance's talent as a battler, as he told him. As a result, Lance wasn't killed, but brainwashed, using Red's new technology invented to invade a person's mind with extreme support and propaganda. Lance became fully brainwashed and is his strongest battler.
The New Elite Four
Red had to choose new members on the elite four. Will was given Lorelei's position for a few years, before he too realised the truth and ran away. Koga's talent as a gym leader was valued and when Red gave him the elite four post, happily supported Red. Karen never became an elite four member. A fairy type specialist from Viridian City was chosen to be an elite four member, called Pixie. Using propaganda, she is potrayed as a kind, nice and simple girl. In reality, she will do anything she can to support Red. The other new member is Blaine's daughter-Seraphina who also uses fire types and is strong. She also runs the old gym back on Cinnabar island, to avoid conflict with the locals. However, most people tend to challenge the ice type gym.

Pixie's pokemon: Clefable, Wigglytuff, Mr.Mime. (Also a Slyveon. If battled 5 vs 5, she uses the same pokemon more than once/uses other pokemon that can learn fairy type moves)

Seraphina's Pokemon: Arcanine, Ninetales, Magmar, Rapidash, Flareon (Also a Magmortar and Charizard)

Koga's Pokemon: Weezing, Muk, Crobat, Beedrill, Gengar (Venomoth, Venusaur, Tentacruel and Nidoking are all examples of other pokemon he has)

Lance's Pokemon: Multiple Dragonite and Dragonair, Gyrados, Aerodactyl (Charizard stored away)
Police officers and army men under the same banner, who work for the state. They are under the complete control of Red and the elite four. Their leader is a muscular gentleman named Stephan, who likes to enforce order and decipline into individuals on the spot. Sabrina and Lt.Surge have significant roles in this group.

Stephan's pokemon: Machamp, Golduck, Pinsir, Nidoking,

Rules:
  • No godmodding/overpowered trainers. Most trainers are easily defeated by Red
  • You can only encounter Pokemon from Kanto. However, pokemon with evolutions from other regions may still happen, e.g. Lickitung can now evolve into Lickilicky.
  • The dark type, steel type and the fairy type exist and any moves from later generations can be used, so long as it's in the pokemon's movepool. No Z moves or mega evolutions please!
  • No legendaries!
I will soon create a new one. Here is the original rp thread for reference as to what your character is doing: https://pokecharms.com/threads/pokemon-twisted-beige-kanto-journey-with-a-twist-rp.17674/

However! Because it has been some time, i'm thinking of making series 2 have a time skip of about a month or at least a few weeks to represent that there has been a gap in real life. Now, in this gap, your trainer, if you remember who they were, could have beaten a few gyms in this time, or, at least done significant training. I do have some plot ideas, such as some members of the group getting captured by the Enforcers.

I have to say, Johnson, I am very happy to see you again. I thought you were gone-gone, either having gotten fed up with this site, or having found some other major thing to invest yourself in. Welcome back!

Well, you know I'm in. Do you still want me to post a character sheet, or is it unnecessary since I'm sticking with Hibiki?

(EDIT: Should I call you Johnson or Palpatine? It feels weird calling you Palpatine.)

Here is a list of @Pokemon Fanfiction Novels audio readings of the story so far in one conversation: https://pokecharms.com/conversation...tion-novels-audio-files.49226/#message-976569

I will allow @Mystic Zander to join because he messaged me a while ago in a conversation about a potential role that could fit in.
Sadly most of us have left besides me and pfn...
For a lot of people, that WAS their last rp.

You do not need to post another form. It's all on the old discussion. Only post one for new important characters. And yes, do stick with Hibiki. Hibiki is a major major character in this and is probably going to be one of the ones who could beat Red.
I'd be down to join! However my character wouldn't be one who really attempts to take on the Gyms/Become Champion - is that okay?
Well, I created this mainly for the other people who joined the original rp. I will allow you to join if you can fit in. First of all, you should read the old rp discussion and what the old rp had. All of the new trainers have left the lab and are well into their journeys, having beaten at least half of the gyms. What you should do is be a character who isn't a trainer, but one of the Enforcers, maybe a leader. If you have a creative idea for a character, do let me know.

I'm currently in the process of revamping everything and working out where we should start from. I'm thinking Beige might have been captured by Enforcers during the Celadon City Hellicopter escape. Remember, Giovanni revealed himself to the world again. I cannot find it in the rp, but Giovanni was going to be Beige's father (meaning Silver is his brother). I think I may have already revealed that.

Oh, my bad. I thought you were starting from scratch as well - I didn't mean to intrude if this is more so for you guys, I just figured I could give it a go since the majority of the old participants have been gone from the site for a lengthy amount of time.

I actually have a couple of ideas for what my character would be like. I'll throw a summary down here and you can tell me which you think would fit best?

1) My character would be a Pokeathlete - more so focused on the world-wide competition of Pokeathlons (which have changed to be dedicated in Red's honor since he took over). Since he had been so focused on rapidly succeeding in these competitions and built up an athletic Pokemon team, he had gained a decent level of recognition/fame, which causes him to sort of fall in line with the other public figures underneath Red's control. This character's family would be radical Red supporters themselves, hence he's grown up willingly admiring the Champion and only seeing the polished, public side of Red's actions and motives. Eventually he would run in with the rest of the characters and realize how corrupt the whole thing really is, and have to find a way to help combat the system without getting "off-ed" like the other previous gym leaders, professors, etc.

2) This one is very similar to the idea you had, where my character would be a young Gym Leader, much like Misty, who knows good and well Red's darker side. However after trying to find out more about the corruption, the Champion's henchmen/Enforcers would get suspicious of my characters behavior and eventually attempt to get rid of him like the others. While in his constant escape from the Enforcers, my character could go incognito and somehow meet up with the rest of the team and join them to stop the tyranny. (Eventually being replaced by one of the current Gym Leaders... perhaps he could be the original first Normal Gym and then replaced by Odessa?)

Those any good?

Hey, so I want to give you a bit of a heads-up about my schedule, Johnson. Remember how, in the high days of Twisted Beige last September, we were basically posting every day? I can do that until July 9, and then I'm going on a trip to Israel that will last two weeks. The earliest I'd be back is the 25th. There's a good chance that you'll restart Twisted Beige, only to have me MIA for half the month of July. Sorry, but can you plan around that?

well I thought we were starting from scratch but this is good. I'll keep Chris
Yeah, that's the idea, we are not starting from the very beginning, but continuing with in-story time between this and the last one being at least a few weeks. I'm trying to work out what to do with Beige. I will read up what last happened before i put the rp up.

Both ideas could fit very well into the rp.
Prehaps, if you chose the first one, the Pokeathlete, he could be this character: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Primo (Primo - Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia) ,also known as the Poke Dude. In HGSS, he has seen to be an pokeathelete. In FRLG, the remakes of the original generation 1 games, he is a famous man who teaches new trainers via the Teachy TV his grandfather gives people in Viridian City.
With the second one, if you are implying he is the gym leader before Odessa, we can fit that in. Though, the current backstory is that Blue was the gym leader after Giovanni the whole time until Odessa. Prehaps he was gym leader between them for such a short while, Red had the whole idea of him removed from history. Maybe he could be a gym leader for a town that doesn't have a gym or you could create a new city, maybe in the north somewhere where he is hiding. I'm presuming you've read the original discussion and rp since you know who Odessa is. If you haven't read too much, I do recommend you look up as much as possible on both threads. Because it looks like a lot of the people won't be coming back, there's room for you. If possible, you could end up going as one of the characters left out by the user who left. One of the characters I found interesting was one made by @Gavin Sykes. I remember he had an Enforcer who had a Ditto, which meant he could get to high places by having the ditto pretend as someone else.
Hey, so I want to give you a bit of a heads-up about my schedule, Johnson. Remember how, in the high days of Twisted Beige last September, we were basically posting every day? Alright, I'll keep that in mind. I won't expect people to post every day, heck, even every week. We'll take this slowly from where we were last time (about, just a little bit after). This is why I think it might be good to get a bunch of fresh people, so that they can fill in parts of the story when another character cant be used. We can give people permission to control our characters if there is a situation where it is desperate for a character to do or answer a certain person or event. And a short period of stagnation wouldnt do much harm. If that happens, i'll continue with it on these threads. If we have overflown on the posts too much, i might create another series, but I doubt we'll need another for this, most of us are more than half way.

Okay great. I'll just go with being a character who was in the mix for gym rotation after Blue but before Odessa. He was the Fairy Type gym leader to add some unique variety in Kanto (and for convenience sake so I'm not using the same Pokemon as Odessa) but then was removed after showing signs of suspicion towards Red's motives. After him the gym was then returned to Normal Type to avoid any more unpredictability perhaps?

Character Form:

Name: Kai Alexander

Age: 17

Sex:
Male

Hometown:
Viridian City

Origin:
Former Viridian City Gym Leader - the middle rotation between Blue and Odessa. Specializing in Fairy Type Pokemon, Kai became interested in the varying creatures at a very young age. He quickly became an adept Trainer, honing his skills in battling at the age of 11, thanks to his parents. The Kanto-birthed child had always held the Pokemon League on a very high pedestal in life, aspiring to be just as powerful and worthy as the battlers that he had seen on screen. To him, training to work along the government to become a Leader to contribute to the world of Pokemon was how he would fulfill his dreams. He and his entire family actually greatly admired Champion Red, as he was everything that a Trainer should embody; everyone should want to be like Red. After spending countless hours throughout many years of battling and building relationships with the newly discoverable Fairy Type pokemon that inhabited Kanto, while also studying under Blue himself as a Gym Trainer (whenever he ran Viridian Cities gym), he eventually received his opportunity.

When Blue had went missing, Kai and the other young trainers were saddened and worried. They were heartbroken to hear the news that their leader had been exposed as apart of the resistance. However, after being inspected carefully, Kai himself was chosen as the next capable Gym Leader of Viridian. It was hard for the young 17 year old to adjust so quickly, but he eventually got into the swing of things and loved serving under Red more than anything. He felt as if he were contributing to the golden society. However, he began noticing that rumors were being spread and other public figures (even his own friends who ran other gyms) started dropping like flies and 'disappearing' after certain events. Kai's naive personality didn't put much thought towards the occurrences until he noticed shifty things happening within the system. Long story short, Kai himself began to wonder of his loyalty to Red and the League, causing him to eventually earn his own spot on Red's kill list. If it weren't for his skills as a battler with his Pokemon, he perhaps would have never been able to barely escape the Enforcers. Within a week the new replacement, Odessa, was set up as Viridian's Leader and the gym was restored to Normal Type, as it was in the older system so that Red could keep a close eye on things and nothing spontaneous could pop up again.

Two things I have to say about this:

1) You are aware we have a fairy type specialist already? She's an elite four member. Correct me if i'm wrong.
2) That person's team contains pokemon introduced in later generations. Now, i'm not a genwunner or anything, but I have decided from the first series, if you read it, that generation 1 pokemon are only allowed, but you are allowed later generation evolutions. The whole of the Gardevoir evolution line is generation 3 (or 4 in Gallade's case). Sylveon is fine, because it's basic form, Eevee, is a generation 1 pokemon. In addition to Gardevoir, Togekiss is not allowed, because the basic form of this pokemon, Togepi, is a generation 2 pokemon...and Granbull is generation 2 as well. Mime.Jr and Ditto are allowed. I know that there aren't many fairy types in generation 1 but that's because they introduced the type way after. I think you'll find there are even less steel and (no basic form) dark types for this generation.

Here is a list of all the fairy types you could have: Cleffa, Clefairy, Clefable, Igglybuff, Jigglypuff, Wigglytuff, Mime.Jr, Mr.Mime, Sylveon. And that's it. We could do what the anime did and have a Togepi egg.

A thought occurs. If a final confrontation with Grandmaster Red is in the cards, will this rp encourage the use of a mega-evolution pokemon and/or a lesser legendary? It's not often that the journey goes this far in roleplays.

Origin: Working as a gym trainer under Sabrina, once Red began to take over and Sabrina became a part of the regime, she easily convinced her trainers to work alongside Red, and if that didn't work, she hypnotized him. Franklin has been a useful soldier in Red's enforcers. The hypnotism lead to him being emotionless and merciless. Slowly, however, the hypnotism is beginning to fall, and he's beginning to have memories and remorse, which he never speaks of.

A thought occurs. If a final confrontation with Grandmaster Red is in the cards, will this rp encourage the use of a mega-evolution pokemon and/or a lesser legendary? It's not often that the journey goes this far in roleplays.
Mega evolution will only be allowed if you can get permission from a mod, preferably StellarWind Elsydeon. I need to read up on the rules about mega evolution, but if you want to get one, you will somehow need your character to get a mega stone and a mega ring. Prehaps there is some kind of black market from another region? As for lesser legendaries or any legendaries at all, I wasn't planning to feature them at all. This is because you also need to ask a mod for permission but the thing is, every time I have tried, StellarWind Elsydeon has NEVER approved and I don't know anyone who has tried who has gotten one successfully. I remember talking to him once in a conversation. Apparently only real veteran rpers and friends of said mod who have been on for a decade can really have a chance. Correct me if i'm wrong, but do I remember a time when tried before and got rejected? If you want legendaries to appear at all, all I would say is ask Stellar in a private conversation and describe your character in great detail and link the rp. As soon as Stellar is linked, he will be monitering us closely, i mean, even as we speak we are being watched.
so everyone knows, palpatine approved that i can join as an enforcer

Name: Franklin Potts
Age: 17
Sex: Male
Hometown: Saffron City
Origin: Working as a gym trainer under Sabrina, once Red began to take over and Sabrina became a part of the regime, she easily convinced her trainers to work alongside Red, and if that didn't work, she hypnotized him. Franklin has been a useful soldier in Red's enforcers. The hypnotism lead to him being emotionless and merciless. Slowly, however, the hypnotism is beginning to fall, and he's beginning to have memories and remorse, which he never speaks of.
Kadabra (En)
Haunter (Skraemme)
Arbok (Gift)
Accepted! You have followed all the criteria well! And he could fit in very much from the second the rp starts. I plan to have Beige wake up in some kind of asylum that Sabrina has taken him to.
Yo! I remember this but I can't really remember my character, but I think that it was Sukoku. Anyways, I might be coming back, it depends if my Wi-Fi gets fixed.
Alright. Remember, there are links to the discussion and rp so you can always read those if you forget.

alright, but my plan is to maybe have him be a bit aggressive at first and join them for x reason reluctantly, but slowly start going back to normal. i don't want to COMPLETELY give away my plans but his memories returning are the biggest part of his development :/

Although the time placement of this continuation will be several weeks after the end of the last one, I think we need to recap a few events to see where each person should be at the start of this one:

  • Chris (controlled by Nebulix) met and befriended Jax (controlled by Ry Burst) after a day in Celadon City's game corner. They had met before in Vermillion City. Both of them wanted to find Beige, a rogue trainer who was widely reported to have done bad things by the media
  • Beige, Leaf and Hibiki had all met in the sewers. Beige and Leaf had met Giovanni in the sewers and he showed them the Team Rocket base that was being prepared. Giovanni showed Beige the Devil's Prism blue prints: three blueprints from across Kanto for a mega weapon (similar to the X and Y one Team Flare used). This Mega Weapon was one used by Red in a previous war that had virtually destroyed anti-Red organisations, such as Team Rocket. Remember how, in Lavender Town, Giovanni had met Beige because there had been one of the blueprints for this mega weapon here. Now with all three blueprints, Giovanni and Team Rocket could assmble the weapon and, in theory, strike down all of the Enforcer bases in each city and even strike Red's home in the Indigo Plateau.
  • Gale, Cleadon City's second gym leader (There were two because of Erika) had been holding people up with challenges, including some of the respected trainers. Gale was called up after Beige, Leaf, and Team Rocket escaped in helicopters after Stephan's brilliantly thought out plan involving Hibiki as a new team rocket spy, had failed. Gale and the Enforcers attacked the helicopters with their own and Gale with her pokemon.
  • Gale's Fearow tossed Sting (Beige's Beedrill) into a wall. Giovanni told Beige to 'leave it!' meaning Sting won't likely be on Beige's team anymore.
  • Team Rocket headed for the News headquarters-a skyscraper in Celadon where Red's propaganda news is filmed. They landed and told everyone that they still exist by hijacking the station, which is big because everybody thought they were gone. For some reason, i dont have a record of the post, but I definitely wrote it sometime. I remember writing that Giovanni had announced to the world everything was false due to the propaganda of the media and that he was Giovanni, who was presumed to be dead. I think, for future reference, let's say he did announce that and now everyone knows.
  • Beige battled Gale on the top of the same skyscraper. The result was indecisive from what i've read but let's say he won and he forced her to give him the badge.
So my plan for Beige is for him to wake up in a Saffron City Asylum centre where Sabrina is torturing the patients. Beige has forgotten about who he truely is and has to obtain his memories back. When he gets them back, he will remember a bunch of memories I will write out: The Team Rocket encounter, the helicopter escape, Giovanni taking over the propaganda centre and announcing himself and denouncing Red, the 'gym battle' with Gale, then how Giovanni told him he was going to the big Team Rocket base and that Beige would learn shortly of where it was, before Giovanni and the rockets flying off in the direction of Saffron City, how Beige went along the cycle road and battled punks, how Beige was warmly welcomed by Janine (who had saved him previously from Koga during the Lavender Town stop), how he had gone into the Safari zone, how he battled Janine.

sounds great! when do we start?
Here's the link to the rp: https://pokecharms.com/threads/pokemon-twisted-beige-kanto-journey-with-a-twist-series-2-rp.19547/

Do note that things are a little messed up right now! That's because i'm in the process of writing out all of Beige's memories from the 2 weeks. It would be better if you posted after I finished concluding his memories, when his memories detail how he got up to saffron city and the asylum. I have been busy, so i haven't been able to put it all in the first post. I'll update it later.

Alright dudes, I've got an update regarding the mega-evolution thing, and I share it here to expand your perspective. As some of you know, I've been building up for a Mega Steelix for a while now. Though I disagree with the necessity of an "ask mods permission" process, I've gone through it and received Stellar's approval- albeit barely, and with a flash of teeth at the end.

In short - it's very borderline, but I think I can approve this, to be perfectly honest. Just keep all this information in mind and don't abuse the thing's power - because reported godmoding will be swiftly handled, probably with fire. ^^

And there's the happy eyes at the prospect of handling godmoding with probable fire. Anyway, there you go: it is, in fact, possible to play a restricted pokemon without being Stellar's friend, or having the status of "10-year Pokecharms veteran." I compiled a list of other people who made it since September of last year, and there are a half-dozen, give or take. Since we're gonna be watched anyway, and since a couple of you might decide to try for your own restricted pokemon before facing Red, here are some things to keep in mind for your application:

1. If you have any doubts that a mod will treat you fairly, request that two of them look over your application. Teapot is a secondary RP moderator, and if you go to her first, she'll consult with Stellar in the same conversation as you. It IS a subjective matter to an extent, so this is not unreasonable.

2. I cannot speak to requesting a legendary, but I can now talk about Mega Evolutions. As the rules say, there are three factors you gotta cover: the origin of the Keystone, the origin of the Mega Stone, and the origin of the trainer-to-pokemon bond.

3. Let's talk Keystone. Stellar doesn't like it when your characters get handed things.
the idea of having someone else find the Keystone for them using connections kind of ends up with a 'dude just casually gets everything handed to them' vibe rather than 'dude actually has to earn this sort of power in some way'
Since it's even more dubious to suggest you made your own keystone, or stole it from somewhere, I'd still suggest you be handed a Keystone- IMMEDIATELY after accomplishing a major feat. I mentioned that Gold was Hibiki's brother, Gold was invested in his journey, and that Hibiki's goal was to live up to Gold's power, but having "x" number of badges is standard procedure anymore. Earn more than badges. Proactively find a guy with a Keystone, and take up a challenge that will convince him that a Keystone is safe in your hands. A quick post doesn't cut it; your application is gonna have to be thorough, with demonstrable foresight.

4. Let's talk Mega Stone. Stellar doesn't like it when you stumble across those things.
While it is likely that a Steelix could end up being drawn to a mega stone attuned to its species while burrowing around underground and digging it up - that would be an insanely lucky find.
You know what you're getting into when you request Mega Pokemon. That's the point: the trainers of such pokemon are, by necessity, insanely lucky and well-connected, which is what makes them so exceptional. At one point, I'd considered just having Steelix come across some other valuable item or Mega Stone, and trading THAT for Steelixite. Buuuuut something of equal value would probably be just as unlikely, and this would annul the "call of the One Ring" status attributed to Mega Stones for their own species. And if you've already played the "I know a guy who knows a guy" connection card, well, now it's stale. My suggestion, then, is the time factor. Request a Mega Pokemon with the understanding that, even when it's approved, it won't be immediate. Your character will basically need to deliberately seek out a Mega Stone, and crazy-rare though it is, it will be found in time (just like shinies in-game). It will push events forward quite a bit, or at least require several posts of plot advancement before it is seen through, but at least it will increase the plausibility factor. Just . . . don't have a shiny pokemon on the team as well.

5. Let's talk partnership bonds. Stellar doesn't like it when roleplayers treat pokemon like pixels on the Nintendo screen.

If you want to increase your chances of a "yes," acknowledge that your chosen Mega Pokemon is going to freak out during its first few transformations. A freshly-evolved pokemon won't be used to its new body, and I imagine mega-evolving is like experiencing that sensation afresh every time. If you want to be in sync with a mega by the time you really need it, you'll need to make your request significantly earlier than that time. Probably before you even catch that pokemon, really. I had Onix since Hibiki's first badge, and that can only have been to my credit, since Onix has been present for bonding most of the journey. Seriously- the odds of anyone getting a Mega Garchomp or other pokemon appearing at the end of regions . . . well, they're probably an effective scientific zero. Want a mega? Start now.

Geez. That took longer to write than I thought. I'm gonna go take a walk now.

I only literally saw this, but congratulations. I've never known anybody with a mega evolution or Legendary. Now you can use that for Hibiki if he dares to go on the second journey across Johto (if that ever happens). All the threads i've seen got closed but I think you can actually have the character appear with the mega evolution across other rps now if you just give the evidence Stellar said. And I agree with you that Onix is a good choice to have because of the earlyness that you have gotten him and, let's be honest, some mega evolutions aren't very strong. Mega-Steelix I believe is, but not compared to other megas. And of course, you'd have to make Mega Steelix go out of control at the very start of having him at least. I imagine Mega Steelix is extremely awkward to manage as it would be very big in size and aggressive, so having out of control would be kind of chaotic in the rp. But this gives us hope for other things. I think, about finding all of the stuff for the mega evolution, I could have set up a scenario where merchants from Kalos (who were originally ace trainers themselves) would sell the keystones or hand them out to those who were strong enough. Where is this tunnel you speak of in the rp? I actually read this last, so I was going to check the rules if you hadn't said anything.

And should I try and apply for mega Gengar or Mega Gyarados or neither? Too many megas can make the rp overpowered.

I think we're safe from "too many megas," considering the one-per-character limit already set down from above. I couldn't tell you which to pick, if any, though. Maybe try for a lesser legendary instead? You might get it if you do research on the creature's story, show proper foresight, and explain how Beige's interests and the legendary's overlap when it comes to the threat of Red.

As for the surfacing location of Hibiki's tunnel, I'm kinda waiting on Nebulix's post to determine it, or Ry_Burst, if he's ever coming back. Hibiki would not turn to Beige for help at this point, and even if he did, there's currently too many security barriers between them. Asylum walls, Stephan's minions, Sabrina's psychic detection- you get the picture. So yeah, I gotta wait on someone else.

Let's be sure to keep each other accountable when timing our posts, so that we don't slip into a wakeless coma like the last thread.

I didn't want to request a legendary or even a minor legendary because it would be hard to fit it in. Plus, if there were any legendaries, wouldn't Red task it on himself to stop people from getting them? For Beige's team, I would just want a mega. I am still deciding which one to have. I don't think Beige would take the time to search for the items needed so at some point, maybe on Cinnabar Island, I will put a market of foreign merchants who are selling or giving certain items to skilled trainers. Maybe Red confronts the skilled trainers he says has the ability to beat him. Red enjoys a strong trainer, as he knows once he has beaten them, he can brainwash them as stronger guards. Unfortunately, for him, the brainwashing process is going to get harder as people get more resistive and when Sabrina has been defeated, it will be significantly harder.

I wanted to post one more time before I left on my trip, but I may not get a chance. I may do it a little later, using one of my own characters as a draw for Hibiki. If not . . . I'll see you on the 25th or 26th.
Alright, see you. Content will start appearing faster as I slowly get less busy and more motivated. I myself am taking a few trips soon. But holy hell, you will be gone from Charms for a good 2 weeks at least, maybe even 3 if my calculations are correct!

Just so you guys know, my account has been merged with another I was using, so my name has changed to that one. Also, I am on holiday away from computer access until next Saturday or so at least, so that explains any lack of posts, apart from my busyness prior.

I'm back! And I said 25th or 26th, but blame Canada for the two-day delay. They lost our luggage, and my group had to wear the same clothes for three days straight. At least the hotel was nice.

So, what's our status? I was expecting at least a little progress in my absence. Are we still doing this?
I am currently on holiday myself and I've only had access to my iPad and phone and the wifi isn't always the best, so there's my excuse. But also, it takes a great amount of energy to write these posts. This is a rp where we or I, at least, am writing more than I usually do so I have to think up these posts and I do get terrible block when it comes to this particular one, as I know that each post is going to have to explain what happened between this series and the last one. If I get past the whole memory thing, it should pick up a lot faster. My account has also been merged with another whilst you were gone. Good to have you back. I will start planning out my posts when I get back on Monday a few days later.

Sounds good. I'm still a little tired at the moment, but I'll be sure to have a post in before Monday. Even if it ends up just being us two, I'm committed to finishing the story. Enjoy the rest of your vacation, dude.
Thanks.

When it does comes to posting, I think we should take our time and go slowly. The quality of our posts will be disminished otherwise.

I think that maybe we should reboot this as we would attract more people so it would have less chance of dying?

Reboot, as in start completely over? Not to be contrary, but I really don't want to start over, for multiple reasons. One, I kinda already did that in the Twisted Beige comic. Two, I'm happy with all the stuff we've already written to make it this far, and I don't want to cast it aside. Three, I don't see how the chance of Twisted Beige dying theoretically changes, once it reboots and reaches this point again.

That said, I think it's understandable that you would be nervous about the RP's death. It looks to be on life support, doesn't it? Right now, I'm abiding by JohnsonAce/Ratbag's wish to go slowly; he knows I'm not going anywhere. But perhaps something should change- just so our other participants don't get the impression of death and lose heart. Do you have any other suggestions?

I don't know... this are RP seems too slow to continue as it is currently and I don't think we have enough people either...

No, I wont do that. This first entry has become a thing between me and the original cast. But here's the thing. I have been getting writers block when it comes to this. It doesnt happen with the other RPs. I feel compelled to write much longer detailed posts especially in this RP.

OK that's fine but I'm confused on where everyone is and how much progress everyone else has, I have, and should have if I should even change my progress at all

It's nothing to do with your process. I've had a change in attitude now where I only post when ive got something solid in my head for a posting in the RP, and also when I feel like it, of course when im also able.
